Thank you for this psalm that has meant so much over the ages.

We just heard a testimony from our buddy, Brother Jeff, and that it means so much to him. We pray for Steve as he reads it to us, highlighting the security of the one who trusts in the Thank you so much for the legacy of this psalm, in the military especially. And we pray that many soldiers will tap into this proverb or psalm as they receive their NLT Bibles in the military.

Thank you, Lord, for answering this prayer and many other prayers here in the group. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen, Roger.

Thank you so much for that prayer and leading us to the throne of grace. All right, well, Psalm 91, very famous psalm. This psalm celebrates and declares God's loving, watchful care over His children with an extraordinary degree.

eloquent this psalm has been very precious to very many as Roger indicated in his prayer certainly is to us so this psalm tells us that those who make God their refuge have perfect peace and security and confidence in the face of danger and and disease and accident. Because here in this psalm, what we see is the providence of God in protecting his saints. And we see it set forth in the most confident, inspiring fashion.

that we could possibly conceive. The language that is employed here in Psalm 91 is that of a father calling for his children in the most tender and loving way, and a father caring for his children who is ever attentive to anything that might harm them. Perils of every kind coming from whatever source, are known to God, they're under His control, and therefore we have nothing to fear from them because they have to be approved by Him before they can ever injure us.

The exclamation of Paul in Romans 8.31, If God be for us, who can be against us? finds a very vivid illustration of in this psalm. Because God is forced and no actual harm can ever befall us.

Whatever he allows is always going to be worked together for our good, for our growth, for our godliness. And so faith in this gives us an air of cheerful trust. that this psalm provides us with.

So even if the future brings its worst, God will exercise his power on our behalf to work out what's best. So the air of confidence which the psalmist exudes speaks of a clear and powerful trust in the goodness and sovereignty of God and a rock-solid certainty of His covenant faithfulness to His children. And so here in this psalm we have one who is strong in faith, giving glory to God, and is confident that whatever God has promised, He is able also to perform.

All right, that's a little introduction to our psalm. Steve, W6YSI, go ahead and read to us please. Okay, I'll be reading from the New American Standard once again.

Psalm 91. "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper, from the deadly pestle, who covers you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge.

His faithfulness is a shield. and bulwark. You will not be afraid of the terror by night or of the arrow that flies by day, of the pestilence that stalks in darkness or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.

A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand. They shall not approach you You will only look on with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. For you have made the Lord my refuge, even the Most High, our dwelling place.

No evil will befall you, or will any plague come near your tent. For he will give his angels charge concerning you, guard you in all your ways. He will bear you up in their hand, lest you strike your foot against the stones.

You will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent who will trample down. Because he has loved me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him securely on high because he has known my name.

He will call upon me. I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble and in trouble.

I will rescue him and honor him. It's a long life. I will satisfy him.

Let him behold my salvation. That's for the reading of God's word, W6YSI. Steve, thank you for that reading.

Really appreciate that. All right. Any comments on Psalm 91?

Please come down with your call sign. Psalm 97, you are called. Okay.

I just heard Lee, AL7KG. Good morning, Lee. Got you checked in.

Thank you for being there, brother. Appreciate you. All right.

That's Lee, AL7KG. All right. Any other check-ins?

Please come now. Alpha India 7, Quebec, Quebec. Please comment.

Dave, AI7QQ, come on ahead with a comment. I'd just like to say that this is the heart of all believers, that our only hope and our only refuge is the Lord God. He carries us through all of our mistakes and all of our shortcomings.

He is our refuge in every way. And I thank God. Amen.

Well said, Dave. Appreciate that. And this psalm has been such a comfort to so many, such a strong assurance of God's protection.

Appreciate that, Dave. And thanks for that affirmation. All right.

That's Dave, AI7QQ. All right. Any other comments, please come now.

WV7 of EZL. Roger, please go ahead. I think it's special how God takes on his own person at the end.

He's no longer referred to he, but he gives a personal commitment. I will set him, verse 14. I will...he will call upon me and I will answer him.

Verse 15: I will be with him in trouble. I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him and let him behold my salvation.

Now that's quite a promise. with the personal presence of God's care. Over.

Yeah, Roger, well said. And thanks for noticing that shift to the first person. um you know, it's interesting how that, you know, all through the psalm, he says, he that dwells I will say of the Lord he shall deliver thee, he shall cover thee.

And then you're right, when it comes to verse 14, because he has set his love upon me, Therefore will I deliver him. So God, as it were, steps in in verse 14, 15, and 16 and speaks in the first person and delivers assurance of all of these promises that have been made in the first 13 verses. So it's like...

It's talking to believers. Sometimes the psalmist speaks of himself in the first person. He speaks of others in the second person.

And then God steps in and speaks for himself in the first person in verses 14 through 16, affirming. all of these promises that have been uttered in the first 13 verses. So it's like God's listening, and then God steps up and says, Yes, that's exactly right.

I will do all of those things. So, Roger, thank you for pointing out that, that extra level of assurance we have that not only do we have the promise of the inspired writer, but we have the promise of God himself in his own voice. All right, any other comments?

Please come now. AK-6, OK. Jeff, AK6OK, please go ahead.

Yeah, Max, I've been trying to figure out who the author of this is, and there's a whole lot of opinions on that one. Yeah, copy that. You know, it very well could be David, because, of course, he went through a ton of battles and experienced all of these protections and deliverances from God.

It could have been anyone who had spent a lot of time in warfare. So the important thing is not who the inspired human author is. The important thing is that God is the ultimate author.

You know, and that's true of several books of the Bible. You know, we don't know who the human writer was. But we do know who the divine writer was, and that's God.

And since we have dual authorship of the scriptures, where God is working in and through inspired authors, the good news is that no scripture is of any private interpretation, but all scripture is given by inspiration of God. Right. Jeff, do you have any suggestions for us as to who the author might be, over?

Well, I agree it could have been David. I understand it could have been Moses, and obviously it could have been a totally unknown that wrote this. Just an aside, many years ago, Patty and I met Peggy Joyce Ruth, R-U-T-H.

She wrote a book, not a book, many books about this passage, about Psalm 91, called God's Shield of Protection. And a very, very well-known book in the military. She wrote a military version of this book as well.

So, very, very important book, which excites me. This is one I've known about. I've talked to Peggy many, many times about it.

So it might be a book you want to grab on Amazon, but it's by Peggy Joyce Ruth. copy that do you recall the title of the book over yes page yours from Psalm 91 God's shield of protection is one of them it's on 91 another one is God's shelter in every storm And then Peggy Joyce also wrote The Military Version, which is a great book for the military. It's a book that talks about the protections of people in the military.

Over. Copy that. Okay, well that's enough information for us to find those books for sure.

Thanks for that recommendation. Appreciate that. All right, any other comments on this passage?

Please come now. 5 Yankee. uh five yankee back go ahead yeah on the sidebar of the chapter it says here it was probably written by one of the temple personnel a priest or levite as word of assurance to godly worshipers well that's an interesting perspective uh certainly a possibility um Yeah, I wouldn't have thought that that would be written by a priest to encourage worshipers, but there's no reason why it wouldn't be or couldn't be.

So, yeah, interesting perspective there, too. Thanks for sharing that, Beck. Appreciate that.

All right, any other comments on the psalm? Please come now. WB7 to VZL.

Roger. Please go ahead. Well, Jeff brought up the military, and I believe I mentioned that in prayer.

The movie Hacksaw Ridge featured this. this psalm, the documentary also of a conscientious objector, Desmond Doss. He, I guess the military would not move toward Okinawa until Desmond Doss read this psalm.

to give them encouragement after that terrible Okinawa invasion, which the Japanese were dug in, dug in big time. And... So this is his go-to, speaking of the military.

Over. Yeah, copy that. And I know that soldiers all through the centuries have used this psalm as a source of assurance, confidence.

comfort and peace as they faced uh the battle um you know uh it talks about uh verse five thou shall not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flies by day and of course back in those days arrows are what they used uh nighttime attacks were common uh and then of course um Verse 7, There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling. He'll give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. They'll bear thee up on thy hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Yeah, it just goes on and on. I can't stop reading here. These are such precious promises of assurance of God's protection.

And, you know, look, many of us on this net are fathers, right? And would you protect your child if you could? Certainly you would.

Yeah, sometimes you'll allow them to go through some difficulties. And, you know, sometimes they stumble and fall down. You pick them up and dust them off and dry their tears and tell them to get going again.

But God's a father. He loves his children. And he watches over each of them with the most tender care and the most focused attention.

And, you know, the assurance is that the father is not going to allow anything to befall his children that's outside of his will, that's outside of his plan, and that is outside of his intentions of goodness for them. So, yeah, many a soldier has used this psalm as comfort, as confidence, and as a source of peace. when death and destruction are all around him and threats are imminent in his life.

Roger, thank you for that. Any other comments on this psalm? Please come now.

Okay, I'm flying back. I will. Go ahead.

I noticed that he's not addressing this to an individual person or as a prayer. It looks like it's more like a sermon than anything else. Though it is used often as a basis for prayer.

Yeah, and that goes along with what Beck was saying. It is like a sermon. It's not a prayer.

It's declaration. And so it would certainly be fitting for a sermon that was preached. And I think that's why Beck said in the margin of his Bible, it says this was delivered by a priest.

to assembled worshipers to give them encouragement in the face of a military threat or of a national plague or something like that. So that makes good sense, and that goes right along with what Beck said. Thank you for that, Will.

All right, any other comments, please come now. WB7, is that all? Roger, please go ahead.

I really appreciate Jesus using his creation, a mother hen protecting with her wings. And Jesus takes that on, that personification in Matthew 23, at the very end of the chapter, verse 37. I would wish that you would be gathered under my wings.

And so in a sense, he comes to this planet and becomes that to our spiritual lives and to our anxiety, to be gathered under his wings, even with the vicissitudes of... and the risks, so to speak, of coming and getting involved in the cage of this planet. But, yeah, I often have played in my ministry that famous classic hymn, Under His Wings I Shall Safely Abide.

Over. Yeah, amen. And what a wonderful, comforting imagery that is.

If any of you have ever had chickens, we had ducks. I've seen this happen many times where the mother will spread her wings out and the little chicks will come and find refuge under those wings. And they are hidden there.

They're protected there. They're warmed there. They're watched over there.

And that imagery that is used of our Lord Jesus is so profound there, as you said, at the end of Matthew chapter 23 and verse 37, where Jesus says, oh jerusalem jerusalem how often i have gathered thee as a hen with her chicks but you would not and therefore your house is left to you desolate so a good connection there with the new testament as we see so often our lord jesus his mind was saturated with the word of god and he He's constantly making allusions to, or even direct quotations of, the Old Testament in his ministry and in his preaching. All right, other comments, please come now. AK-6, OK.

Jeff, thank you. Okay, go ahead. Yeah, from the message, around six, I'm thinking.

Hang on one second, Max. Sorry about that. Fear nothing, not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day, not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at noon.

Even though others that come all around you drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you. And I can imagine this as a soldier. You'll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance.

Watch the wicked turn into corpses. Yes, because God's your refuge, the high God, your very own home. Evil can't get close to you.

Harm can't get through the door. He orders his angels to guard you wherever you go. And if you stumble, they'll catch you.

Their job is to keep you from falling. you'll walk unharmed amongst lions and snakes and kick lions young lions and serpents from the path and here's where he does change his his uh his his name it's about him to where he's talking to you if you'll hold on to me for dear life says god i'll get you out of trouble I'll give you the best care if you'll only get to know and trust me. Call me and I'll answer.

Be at your side in bad times. I'll rescue you and then throw a party. I'll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation.

There's another perspective, Mac. Yeah, thank you for reading that. You know, what that does is it helps amplify and explain some of these phrases.

And, Jeff, appreciate you reading that out of the message. Thank you for that. You know, the comfort that is in this passage can be restated many ways.

in trying to bring clarity to it. And, you know, I was thinking about these promises that people rely on. You know, and on occasion, okay, good people do die in battle.

The arrow does pierce. the godly man and they fall in warfare but that's just simply because God intends to take them home to be with himself where they are freed from warfare forever, where they have peace where they have confidence, contentment, and deliverance from all conflict. And so as God preserves his people because he has a plan for them, you know, God also sometimes uses these kinds of circumstances to take his people away.

to be with himself. You know, I think of Doc, W6RLJ. We haven't heard from Doc in a while.

But Doc was a medic in Vietnam, okay? And he said he never carried a weapon with him because he wanted to be able to carry extra medical supplies He wasn't a conscientious objector like Desmond Doss was, but he said, you know, the medic that was with my unit before I came was killed in battle. And he said, the medic that came into my unit after I was rotated out was killed in battle.

But he says, all the time I was in battle and the bullets were flying by and I'm ministering to wounded soldiers. He said, I was never touched. And so that was an amazing testimony of his his protection, that God cared for him.

And so here he is establishing dental clinics in Fiji, right? Because God had a purpose for him. Down the road, God protected him in the midst of battle.

And when God has completed the work that he intends to do through us, Then he just graciously takes us in his arms and takes us home. So whether we live, we live to the Lord. Whether we die, we die to the Lord.

Whether we live or die, therefore, we're the Lord's, and we are in a no-lose situation. And so this psalm is the assurance to us that if God continues to have a purpose for us, then nothing can harm us until those purposes are accomplished and when they're accomplished god will use this means or that means to take us to be with himself all right other comments on this passage please come now All right, while you're thinking, I'd like to talk a little bit about verse 1. It says in verse 1, He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

And the question I ask myself is, what does it mean to dwell in the secret place of the Most High. Well, I think that means to constantly remain as the habit and practice of our lives, to remain in close personal communion with God. Now, under the Old Covenant, the secret place was the Holy of Holies, and there God dwelt, as it were, in a secret place apart from the ordinary course of life.

And those who would seek the presence of God turn aside from the busy public commerce of life. They would go to the temple, and there they would have communion with God in his secret place in the Holy of Holies. Though they couldn't go in, they were close to where he was.

And then I think as we extend this concept, it's about having communion with God in the secret place of our hearts, in the inner man. You know, much of our communion with God is in secret. It takes place in our minds.

It takes place in our hearts. As we read the scriptures, as we pray, as we sing, and as we worship. And so it's those who live in that secret inward heart communion with God, who live in the conscious presence of God in the inner man, it is those who dwell in that secret place who abide under the shadow of the almighty care of an almighty God.

So I think that's kind of something we can take away as far as what's that secret place. It's really the secret place of our heart and heart communion with God. All right, other comments on the passage?

Please come now. YSI. Steve, W6YSI, go ahead.

Yeah, just... a little more thought about that secret place. I know for myself, my secret place is, I got to get away from noise.

I got to get away from a bunch of people. And I hear it late in my later years, finding that I go walking. And I walk in places where there's not going to be you know, the cars and horns, the honks and that kind of stuff.

But, you know, walking out in the woods, it really helps to, hard to explain, but to get on the right channel and have that quiet time. And it's a quiet place. I really appreciate it.

W6 YSI. Yeah, Steve, I sure understand that. You know, if we're going to focus on God, we can't be focusing on something else at the same time.

You know, in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 6, it talks about going into your closet and praying. And the idea is that get into a place where it's private, where there's no distractions, where you're truly alone with God. And have heart fellowship with God.

Talk to God in your heart. Read the Bible or meditate on a passage you memorized and let him speak to you through that passage. And so, yeah, the secret place, is any place where we can have undistracted heart fellowship with God as he talks to us through his word and then as we talk to him in prayer and as we sing hymns to him and as we offer him worship that is the secret place.

And that's why, you know, the Bible emphasized the heart. You know, Jesus said in Matthew 15, these people, you know, honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Elsewhere, he says, those who worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth.

That is, with the engagement of the inner man. with the truth of the word of God. So Steve, thanks for pointing out how you get into the secret place where you can have that heart communion with God.

All right, any other comments, please come now. All right, well, while you're thinking, I want to talk a minute about verse 11. verse 11 says for he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in thy ways now you recall that satan actually quoted this passage to the lord jesus in the temptation in the wilderness right and um He used it as an effort to get Jesus to cast himself down off the Temple Mount and thus demonstrate the power of God's protection and You know scripture that contains wonderful promises Can be used in a completely satanic fashion and to mislead people.

And so here, God promises that he's going to protect his people and bear them up in his hands, verse 12, lest they dash their foot against the stones. Now, one of the things we need to understand about the promises of God is that they are not meant to be used in a way of presumption. They're not to be used as an excuse for irresponsibility.

And they're certainly not to be used to put God to the test to see if, in fact, I do something, he will keep his word as though he has to submit himself to our examination and our approval and our affirmation of what he said in his word. This promise here in verses 11 and 12 are meant for protecting you from unforeseen danger that you accidentally enter into, not from a willful exposure to danger. We all know people who are daredevils and who do crazy, risky things and then expect somehow God to protect them.

Certainly there's risks that we know about. There's risks that we take. We do it for legitimate reasons.

But illegitimate risk-taking, just being careless. with our lives and putting them at unnecessary risk. These kind of promises are not there for those kind of situations.

All right, any other comments on our passage? Please come down to your call sign. YSI?

Steve, YSI, go ahead. Yeah, I was just sitting here thinking too, you know, the big historical event in our lives, I'm sure all of us have thought about it, is working up to D-Day. General Eisenhower, the spiritual battles that he fought and the concerns that he had for, you know, he knew what was going to happen and whatnot.

And then just all of a sudden all of the thought that had to go into that, the chaplain corps and the guys that were helping soldiers deal with that, just thinking of it, it just overwhelms me to think about it. W-6YSI. Yeah, and you know, Steve, of course warfare is an incredible danger, and we will willingly go into it.

Why? Because we have a higher cause. You know, no greater love has a man than this than a man lay down his life for his friends.

So there is certainly a time and a place to knowingly exposing ourselves to danger when the reason for doing that is legitimate. I mean, there was no reason for Jesus to throw himself down off the temple. If he was up on top of the temple and he was walking and he accidentally stumbled over an unforeseen obstacle, he could expect God to protect him.

But if he's up there saying, oh, you know, I'll toss myself down off here on a lark just to see if God will protect me, that is an illegitimate use of promises. So, yeah, you know, soldiers go into virtually certain deaths in certain battle situations. Why do they do that?

Because they have a calling from God to protect their families, their nation, the liberties that their nation stands for and gives to them. and in the service of God and His cause and just war. So, yeah, the question is, is there a legitimate motive for exposing ourselves to this dangerous or is there just an irresponsible fling to see if somehow we can make it through for the sake of the adrenaline rush.

So I think those are considerations we have to look at. All right, other comments, please come down. Okay, I'm tightening up.

Yeah, when you started to quote Matthew 4:6 about Satan reading that verse, a lot of people evil or intent and sometimes I take it out of context not realizing that it's actually the word of God so Satan was able to use it and we see other people using it the same way daily came from the Yeah, well, thank you. And that's the difference between true biblical exposition and the twisting of the scriptures, and that is divorcing passages from their context. And that's one of the ways we can know if the Bible is being rightly used.

Right. or wrongly used, is it being used in light of the context in which it is sitting? And, of course, that's what Satan did.

He pulled it completely out of context and then, of course, because of that, wrongly applied it to a situation that involved temptations. instead of protection so we'll thanks for bringing that out all right other comments please come now job would you be some of these at all Roger please go ahead yes under under verse 14 I am looking at this NASB Bible, and it refers to Daniel in the lion's den in Daniel 6.22 for deliverance. Copy that.

And there is an example where a man was exposed to tremendous danger, but not of his own causing, right? And so, therefore, he could trust God to protect him. Same with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, right?

Getting thrown in the fiery furnace. I mean, we have these tremendous examples of God protecting his people. We think of David being chased around by Saul.

He should have been killed a dozen times. But each time, God preserved him and protected him. And David wasn't seeking danger, and Daniel wasn't seeking danger, and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were not out seeking danger.

It came to them. And when it comes to you, when you're in the path of duty and responsibility and obedience, then you can expect this promise and this psalm to be applied to you and true to you. So, Roger, thank you for pointing that out.

I appreciate that. I want to make a little comment here on verse 13. Okay.

It says, "I shall tread on the lion and the adder." The idea there is we got a lion and we got a snake. Now when you think of a lion, he's very powerful, he's very arrogant, he's very much in your face. And then when you think about the snake, he's hidden, he's subtle, he's deceitful, he's unexpected.

And the point is, God is going to cause us to triumph over both of these categories of enemies. And it says here that we are going to... trample them under our feet.

And it reminds me of that verse in Romans 16 where God says... where Paul says that God shall shortly bruise Satan under your feet. He's the snake, right?

And so the idea here is that whether... it's a strong, obvious threat, or whether it's a hidden, secret threat. God knows about all those threats, and he's going to cause us to triumph over both categories of them.

All right, we are about out of time. Does anybody have a final comment they want to make before we go to prayer? Please come now.

All right, are there any final prayer requests? Please come now. Alright Al, KJ7QQH, go ahead and close in prayer for us please.

Thank you, Pastor Mack. Good morning to everyone on the net. This is KJ7QQH.

Let's come before the Lord in prayer. Heavenly Father, thank you for today and this lesson we can be assured of your protection. And we thank you that you would be pleased to answer and grant to meet the needs of our our circle of fellowship here today.

We just begin with our brother Jerry, KG6J. We join him in lifting up his boss, Rochelle, who starts radiation treatment on her neck. Yeah, certainly.

Monday and also for the new spot that has appeared on the plan, that that may also be affected by the treatment and eliminated. We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m. in order to read the Scriptures, understand their meaning, message and application to our lives and then pray for grace and mercy to be able to live out what we learn and for god to meet the needs of those that are in our circle of fellowship i'll be returning this frequency now to regular amateur use this is wb7mx will be clear and standing by alfalfa 5 yankee with today's joke alfalfa 5 yankee go ahead Is Kathy there beside you? She is outside, I think, right now, but go ahead.

Okay, well, then I'll do a different joke. What do you call a can opener that doesn't work? What do you call a can opener that doesn't work?

Okay, let's see. Boy, I don't know. Anybody want to take a stab at that?

Go ahead. I can't open her. Cannot open her.

You got it. I can't open her. Is that what it is?

Yeah, can't opener. A can opener that doesn't work is a can't opener. Kathy's here now.

Go ahead with the other joke. Oh, man, you're eating them up on me. Okay, Carol, I hope you're there, too.

because this is definitely for the girls. After the man told his wife she should embrace her mistakes, what did she do? She embraced her husband.

Yep, she gave him a big fat hug. Well, she is embracing her mistake right now. So, anyway, that's a 51-year-long mistake there, Beck.

Anyway, Cassie smiled and thought that was funny. Um, Alright, real good, Beck. Thanks for that.

I got a hug out of that, by the way. Good deal. Roger, are you there?

I am. You wanted to know what the joke was a couple of days ago, didn't you? I don't recall, but help my memory.

Okay, then. A joke was, what's the opposite of artificial intelligence? Do you remember that one?

I remember you telling about it. Over. Okay.

Well, I thought that was the joke that you wanted to hear. And the answer is natural stupidity. Okay.

Well, it's sure on the headlines lately. I heard a feature of that recently, as many of you have too, on trying to keep the Internet integrity happening instead of a takeover. Yeah, I imagine it would be hard to outsmart some of these computers, these incredible brilliant working around challenges and seems like there's a genuine fear out there over yeah Roger well I was watching a thing the other day and I really enjoyed it and the reason why is because the computer can think faster than us and the computer can hold more information in its brain weekend and they're talking about using that for coming up for diagnosis for different diseases and to make new drugs to stop diseases and they're hoping that it will come up with a cure for cancer yeah one of the headlines that the moratorium against our data center in Walla Walla County has been lifted So apparently plans are being made to put in one of those power-hungry units.

Over. Yeah, Roger. I wouldn't be that concerned about the power as much as the water.

That's the part that scares me. Well, they've got the Columbia next to them, I guess. I don't know exactly where the property is, but they've got the Columbia River nearby, over.

All right. Yeah, Roger. Well, my governor wants to tear out the dams.

So, you know, as far as having water storage stacked up to run one of those centers, you know, they might not have what they want and they'll have to take it right out of the river. And, you know, that goes up and down. Yeah, I, I, my auto mechanic just was highlighting some of the outstanding aspects of what he was describing.

He says, uh, the power cables coming into them are like a cable of about 8 inches in diameter. Can you imagine the amperage that is apparently required to run one of those that he was seeing built in the east where his family has been. And then, of course, he says he will not buy any house nearby because of some influences of noise.

And so, oh my, what a world we've got, huh? WB-7VZL. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, yeah.

EMF is another good thing. And in Sacramento, there's a main set of power lines. I don't know where the power comes from.

or goes to, but I know where it goes through, and it goes through Sacramento, and they're way up in the air. And during the summer months when people's air conditioners are running, if you step underneath that tower, you can feel it. And not only can you feel it, you can hear the hub from the draw of the electricity.

Oh, my. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah, there's... Well, I'm kind of speechless about some of the challenges of some of the people that live nearby those and are disturbing their sleep, apparently. And WB7V's at health.

Thanks, Bex. Roger, I'm not going to sleep. You got that absolutely right.

In California, they have a law that you can't build a home within so many feet of those power lines. But I've noticed in Oregon that they're selling properties right underneath them. And in other states, too.

So that kind of concerns me. Anyway, you have a wonderful, blessed day, Roger. Thank you, Bex.

Appreciate it. Alpha Alpha 5E, keep standing by. WB7MX here, anybody else want to chat?

Throw out your callsign please. Hey Max, is Kathy still there? I think she wandered off, but go ahead.

She was asking me about making a couple of cups for your grandkids. Do you have that info? Because I want to get those done and send them up to you.

Well, thank you for that. I will send that to you via text message as soon as we get off the air here. Okay.

Sounds good. We'll talk to you all later, AK6. All right.

Thank you, Jeff, for that. AK6OK. All right.

Anybody else want to talk, please come down with your call sign. I'm glad you mentioned it. I just was focusing in on Romans 16:20, and I'll make a note of that in my notes next to Psalm 91.

Thank you, Matt. Yeah, real good. "God shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly." Yep.

So Jesus crushed him, and so we are able to crush him as well, because in his triumph is our triumph. And so that grand verse in Revelation 17:14, "These shall make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb shall overcome them. For he is King of kings and Lord of lords, and they that are with him are called and chosen and faithful." In his overcoming of Satan and all his helpers, we overcome Satan and all of his helpers as well.

Over to you, Roger. Yeah, that is a tremendous bonding. And we could wish that so many people keep that, including myself.

### Summary of the Bible Study on Psalm 91

The Bible study focused on Psalm 91, with participants using call signs to identify themselves, such as Peter (KJ7BA), Bruce (KD0EQK), and others. Roger (WB7VZL) led the opening prayer, emphasizing God's protection and the significance of Psalm 91. Steve (W6YSI) read the Psalm from the New American Standard Bible.

Key discussion points included: - Confidence in God's protection. - The importance of Psalm 91 for soldiers. - Possible authorship by David, Moses, or a priest. - Detailed examination of verses 1-16, with emphasis on God's personal commitment and protection. - Discussion on the misuse of God's promises and the importance of not presuming on them. - Overcoming enemies, both visible and hidden, as discussed in verses 13-16.

Prayer requests were made for various health, family, and spiritual needs of participants and their loved ones, including specific individuals like Jerry (KG6J), Ed (6XLH), and others. The closing prayer was led by Al (KJ7QQH), thanking God for all mentioned needs.

Additional notes included the mention of the book "God's Shield of Protection" by Peggy Joyce Ruth and some humor shared by Beck (AA5Y). The session concluded with Max (WB7MX) thanking participants and inviting them to join future sessions, and the frequency was returned to regular amateur use.
