They're fighting the pneumonia that she has with antibiotics. So far they haven't been doing much good. But I just pray that the Lord would heal her from this pneumonia.

Good copy, Steve. Copy all. And we will be praying for Emma and for God to heal her pneumonia.

That sounds like a pretty serious case when the antibiotics aren't knocking it back. Alright Steve, we got it. Thank you for that.

Alright, any other prayer requests, please come down. WB7VZL. And good morning, Roger, WB7VZL, how are you doing?

Well, I'm doing very well because your signal is very nice and I think you said, is that right, you're at Jeff's house now, over? That's negative. I am in a hotel room in Pleasanton, California, but I've got a good connection via Internet to Jeff's AK6OK station in Rockland, California.

So I think we're blasting out around about 1,000 watts. And Jeff's got us all fixed up here. So, Roger, thank you for the signal report, and you're coming in well as well.

All right, Roger, any prayer requests? Go ahead. Well, Darlene is speaking for the worship experience and talking about our experience.

experience when we were in Guam of actually witnessing the guy that thought the war was happening until for 28 years he fought the war when it was already ended, so to speak. So he was... His name is Yokoi, and he's using that as a powerful parallel for our spiritual lives.

So, yeah. Anyway, pray that the Spirit will move hearts today. that will be part of the audience, the congregation.

And Daylene bounced it off of Autumn last night, too. And so she was willing to sit through it. And that was a good sign, too.

Anyway, yeah, looking forward to Psalm 85. All right, Roger, real good. Thank you for that.

We'll certainly be praying for Darlene if she gives that report from Guam. All right, WB7MX here looking for check-ins. Any more check-ins, please come now.

Thank you. All right, well, it is time for us to get started with our West Coast Bible study, and it's now 6 o'clock, so appreciate you all being there and everybody who checked in. We will be looking over the SDRs as time goes on.

Make sure we pick up everybody who has checked in. We are in Psalm 85 today. Okay.

But we want to open our Bible study in prayer, and so, Jerry, KG6J, if you could open in prayer for us now. I sure appreciate that. Go ahead there, Jerry.

Thank you, Pastor Max. KG6J, let's Bow our heads. Heavenly Father, we thank you for your presence in this world.

Lord God, we come before you this morning. We're going to open your word. We just ask that you would prepare our hearts to receive that today and that we would find application and meaning in your word for each and every one here.

And also, as we ask, for a fresh filling of your Holy Spirit for each of us, especially for Max as he teaches today and for the contributors today, but for each of us that as we go through today, your Spirit would guide us in all things we speak and act on, that it would honor him. So many needs on our net this morning, and I just ask that you would meet each and every need here today. We lift this up to you in Jesus' name.

Amen. Thank you. Jerry, thanks so much for the prayer.

I really appreciate you leading us to the throne of grace. All right, we are in Psalm 85 today. And this psalm was apparently written after Israel's return from her Babylonian captivity.

You recall, because of her sin, God caused her to be taken into captivity to Babylon. The temple was destroyed. The land was completely occupied and defeated, and a whole bunch of Israelites were hauled away into captivity into Babylon.

They were there for 70 years, and then you recall that they were allowed to go back to the land. So as we look at verses 1 and 2, it seems clear that this psalm was written after Israel's return from that Babylonian captivity. Well, it was therefore written during the time of Ezra and Nehemiah who led that return from captivity and who were involved in the rebuilding of the temple and the city walls of Jerusalem.

So we can date this psalm from the time of Ezra and Nehemiah. Well, Israel still had a very sharp and clear recognition of the mercy that God had shown to her in securing her return to the land. And it was amazing that God had forgiven his idolatrous people and wrought in the heart of King Cyrus so that he issued a decree to allow the children of Israel to return to the land.

And so we read that the wrath and judgment of God against Israel had been lifted. His blessing and favor had returned. And the people were delirious with joy over that.

And yet, in spite of that, Israel quickly fell back into sin. when she returned back to the land. And it was not the former sin of idolatry.

But this time it was the sin of intermarrying with the Gentiles. And, of course, that's spoken of in Ezra chapter 9 and Ezra chapter 10. And so this is the sin she's guilty of.

This is the sin she's confessing, and this is the sin that she's seeking forgiveness for, as she pleads again for forgiveness in this psalm so soon after she had been forgiven and restored back to the land. You know, it's a wonderful blessing for us to know that the Lord is gracious in long suffering, and He's plenteous in mercy and forgiveness. It's good to know that where sin abounds, grace is much more abound.

And it's good to know that if we confess our sins, that He's faithful and just to forgive us our sins. And yet, we must never treat these wonderful promises as an excuse to turn the grace of God away. into a justification for or an excuse for sin.

And so we must not presume on the Lord's forgiveness as an excuse and justification to repeatedly return to sin. And so in confession, there must be a sincerity and an honest effort to break off our sins. and not continue in them.

And the psalmist recognizes this truth. Sin needs to be replaced with righteousness. And nothing less than a sincere effort to do that is what constitutes repentance.

And so God's forgiveness is great, but God is not to be played the fool. by the insincere. It is those who have true sorrow for sin, it is those who have true repentance for sin, and it is those who have a true effort to turn away from sin who will have forgiveness and restoration from God.

So that's the message of our psalm. They've been forgiven once, they fall into sin again, they plead for forgiveness the second time, but they also recognize they need to break off those sins, be done with them, and to the best of their ability, purpose, to not fall into that again. So anyway, an amazing psalm today with some clear historical references, and I think that we're going to enjoy reading this psalm and discussing it together all right Steve w6 YSI could you please read for us so 85 okay Psalm 85 beginning at verse 1 Oh Lord Thou didst show favor to thy land.

Thou didst restore the captivity of Jacob. Thou didst forgive the iniquity of thy people. Thou didst cover all their sins.

Now didst withdraw all thy fury; now didst turn away from thy burning anger. Restore us, O God, of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease. Wilt thou be angry with us forever?

Wilt thou prolong thy anger all generations? Wilt thou not thyself revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee? Show us thy lovingkindness, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.

Verse 8. I will hear what God the Lord will say, for he will speak peace to his people, to his godly ones. Let them not turn back to folly.

Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. Loving kindness and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Truth springs from the earth. and righteousness looks down from heaven. Indeed, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its produce.

Righteousness will go before him and will make his footsteps into a way. So far the reading of that word. All right, Steve, W6YSI, thank you for the reading.

Really appreciate that. All right, I have a couple of comments here on my cell phone. is going to continue listening on the Utah SDR while he has his church to make men's breakfast.

Jerry, thank you for being there with us. I really appreciate that. And then I picked up a couple of prayer requests, which I'll cover at the end of the message from CodyKI7TRF.

So we're going to check in CodyKI7TRF. and then we'll cover his prayer request when the net is done. All right.

Any comments on our psalm that Steve read to us? Please come now if your call is done. Thank you.

While you're thinking, I'm going to comment for a minute here on verses 1 and 2. Notice verse 1, which Steve read to us. Lord, you have been favorable to your land.

So he's looking back at the past. He says you brought back the captivity of Jacob, and of course that's the captivity, as I said, that was the 70 years of Babylonian captivity. And then they realized, verse 2, thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people.

you have covered all of their sins. And so the sin that caused Israel to go into captivity, God has forgiven that, and the children of Israel confess that. We really see that confession in Daniel chapter 9, where Daniel gives an extensive confession.

of that sin that Israel had committed. And if you read Daniel 9:1-19, I'm not going to read that, it's a long section, but basically in Daniel 9:1-19, we see the national repentance of Israel expressed by one of her leaders, Daniel. And so we see that God forgives the sin of Israel.

So verse 3, you've taken away all thy wrath. You've turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger. And so we know that God turned the heart of Cyrus away.

who took over Babylon and caused them to go back to the land and command them to rebuild the temple and to pray for him to their God. So this retrospective of past forgiveness causes them to really rejoice in the mercy of God, in the grace of God, in the love that God has. And so this recognition that they have been forgiven gives them hope that they shall be forgiven with reference to the current sin that they have involved themselves in.

So, you know, when you're involved in sin, you can look back and you can say, "You know what? God's forgiven me in the past. His promises are still true.

He will forgive me this time as well." So God's past forgiveness is a great encouragement to us to believe that he will continue to forgive us. All right, any comments? Please come now to your call sign.

Thank you. KB7ZXN. Kevin, KB7ZXN, go ahead, please.

Well, KB7ZXN, and you did provide a very good introduction, Max, and You know, this is a psalm, I think, that just causes, for me, a lot of reflection, too. You know, God has forgiven their sins as a nation. They've been restored, apparently, back to the land.

But the full promise and the full... Restoration, though they've been restored back to the land, they're still dealing with quite a lot. I'm guessing their walls are still down.

Their enemies are still actively opposing them. They're still struggling. They haven't received the full blessing of that restoration of being back to the land.

I think, too, we see here, again, a continuing dependence on God. He certainly has answered prayer. He has brought them back to the land.

But, you know, as in our life, as a believer, to all walk with him is a daily walk. And yes, he answers prayers. He gives us blessing and opportunity.

But also we, as Israel did here, as the Jews did here, have a lot of work to do. But they know that work is. is depending on God's blessing as well.

And so, yeah, you see that in the first couple of verses here. Praying to a faithful God, a God of restoration, but yet they aren't where they want to be yet by any measure. And, you know, there's still a lot of...

evidence and remembrance of their failure and sin of the past that they still have to deal with going forward. KB7 is unacceptable. Yeah, Kevin, well said.

And that's exactly the situation. So they had resented of idolatry. They had been forgiven of idolatry.

But then Satan comes after them in another area of their life. So it's like, you know, we can struggle with a sin, right? And we confess that sin, and we become very watchful with reference to that sin, and then, boom, some other sin comes out of left field, and we fall into that that we weren't even looking for.

I mean, they were looking to not fall into idolatry again, but then this issue of intermarriage with these pagan women, when God said, nope, you need to marry within the covenant community and not marry outside the covenant community. And so just like as Christians, we're supposed to marry fellow Christians and not those who are unbelievers. So that's what's going on here.

You know, it's interesting. In verse 3 it says, You have turned yourself from the fierceness of your anger... And then in verse 4, it says, cause thine anger towards us to cease.

So we see that they just came out from under being under the anger of God, and now they're back under it again because they have fallen into a new sin, a different sin, a sin that came from a different direction they weren't looking for, and here they are. So, praise. Anyway, Kevin, good comment.

Thank you for that. And, you know, we just no sooner get some victory over one sin than Satan tries a different tactic and approaches us from a different direction. So thank you for that.

By the way, the net would like to acknowledge Dave, KE7WTI. Dave, see you there on the Utah SDR. Thanks for being with us.

All right, any other comments on Psalm 85? Please come now to your call center. KG6J.

Jerry, KG6J, please go ahead. Yeah, I have a quick comment, but I'm going to form it as a question. I've got underlining and highlighting on verse 10 from long ago, and I'm going to read verse 10.

Mercy and truth have met together. Right? and peace have kissed each other.

Is this not a picture of Christ right here in verse 10? Um, is it not a picture of Christ? Well, I suppose it could be.

You know, God is, Christ is merciful, Christ is truthful, Christ is righteous, and Christ brings peace. I think the primary reference here is the fact that that if we're going to have mercy from God, we have to tell the truth about our sin and about what we've done. And so when it says mercy and truth are met together, you know, if we're going to cover our sin, we're not going to get mercy.

If we're going to lie about the fact that, oh, no, I haven't sinned when we have, Don't expect to get mercy from God. So I think that's the reference of mercy and truth. And then it says righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

You can't have peace in your heart. You can't have peace with God if you're going on in sin. And then it says, And so it's as you live a life of righteousness, which means that you live a life of obeying God, then you have peace.

I know that when I'm in sin, I don't have any peace in my heart. And so it's when I'm behaving righteously. I'm doing what God tells me to do, then I have peace in my heart.

So I think the idea here is I've got to tell the truth about my sin, and I'll have mercy. I've got to walk with the Lord faithfully, and then I'll have peace. That's my best understanding of the passage, and I appreciate you listening.

asking that question. Go ahead there. Thank you for further illuminating that.

I greatly appreciate that. Back to that KT6, James. Okay, my wife, Kathy, KB7KTY, pointed out Proverbs 3 and verse 3.

which says, "Let not mercy and truth forsake thee, bind them about thy neck, write them on the table of thine heart." And so once again, you know, mercy and truth are juxtaposed with each other again and again. And so that's an important couplet. We won't have mercy if we're not telling the truth about our sins and we're not openly confessing them.

All right, any other comments on this passage that Jerry brought up or any other passage in Psalm 85? Please come down with your call, sir. As that extends.

Kevin, KB7, as that extends. Please go ahead. Thank you.

maybe 7 to that extent well Jerry thank you for pointing out that verse and you know I think too the picture we get from verses 10 to 13 is to reflect on where we are now in the New Testament as well you know we have been blessed we have been restored into Christ our sins have been forgiven but yet we await for the full finished work of Christ And 10 through 13 really provide a beautiful picture of that full restoration, doesn't it? And so as they are still, you know, in the period where, hey, their sins have been forgiven, they're still dealing with a lot, the enemies are still present, the full restoration, blessing and of course as you pointed out the temptation the relativism the rationalization of maybe some of their failures is still present but you know in the age that we're in in the time that we're in in the New Testament here before the Lord's return, we kind of find ourselves maybe in that same position as well. You know, we have been forgiven.

We have been restored in our relationship to Christ. and to God through Christ. But we are still in a fallen world.

Our enemies of God and consequently us are still present in this world, both on a personal and a macro level. And... But, yeah, I like the picture that verses 10 through 13 provide there in that hope going forward.

KB 7 is that example. Yeah, Kevin, thank you for pointing that out. And, you know, verse 13, righteousness shall go before him and shall set us in the way of his steps.

So that's a reference back up to verse 12. Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good, and our land shall yield her increase. Righteousness shall go before him.

That is before the Lord and set us in the way of his steps. So God is a righteous God. And God expects his people to be like him.

God does righteousness. And righteousness always goes before God. It always guides his steps.

And so if we're going to walk in his way, if we're going to walk with the Lord, that means walking in a path of righteousness. So, Kevin, thanks for bringing that out. You know, as you said, verse 10, 11, 12, 13 kind of form a thought unit.

And so 11 through 13 kind of continues to express and explain what's going on there in verse 10. All right, I have a number of check-ins here that I want to acknowledge. We got to have Brian K7 VIP on the Utah SDR Brian.

Thank you for being there We've got Joe Katie 7 QDL on that logger instant message Joe Thank you for being with us on the West Coast Bible study And then we've got Phil K6 HSV on the half moon Bay SDR of Phil Thank you for being there and Eric 8070. Yes. Thanks for sending those along appreciate that a lot.

I Okay, and then Beck also told me that Phil was there on Hapson Bay. All right, just keeping up with the check-ins here and some text messages. All right, WB7MX back with you.

Feeling a little overwhelmed here with all the data and information. You guys pick it up from here. Any other comments on Psalm 85?

Please come back. K-7-Z-I-P. Brian, K-7-Z-I-P.

Please go ahead. Yeah, I appreciate your explanation of verse 10 because I was having a little problem understanding 11 when it says, Truth springs up from earth and righteousness smiles down from heaven. It's easy to understand where the righteousness from heaven is coming from, but I was having a hard time understanding the way the truth from the first was coming.

But as you explained it, it's their respect or their only what they had done and repenting. Is that correct? Yeah, we're getting a little interference there, Brian, but I think I just need to say from verse 11 on.

A truth shall spring out of the earth. And that's talking about us. We are to be people of truth.

We're to speak the truth. We're to walk in the truth. Our lives are supposed to reflect the truth.

And then how does heaven respond? righteousness shall look down from heaven and of course that's a reference to God and so when we are living in the truth he's pouring out his righteousness on us he keeps his promises he shows us grace and mercy he deals with us with justice and part of that justice involves forgiveness. God is just and righteous to forgive us of our sins.

So as we speak the truth upward, he shows righteousness downward upon us by forgiving us of our sins. Brian, that's my best understanding. Go ahead there, Brian.

Yeah, Roger, I was confused at first where in the world the truth was coming from. Didn't think it was living in them under their circumstances, but only their sins and repenting from it would be the truth that they're speaking, correct? That's exactly correct.

You got it nailed there, Brian. Excellent. Go ahead.

That's it. I appreciate it. K7 VIP, Brian.

All right. Real good, Brian. Thank you for that comment.

Okay. Any other comments on our passage? Please come now.

WB7VZL. Roger. Please go ahead.

Yes, I have pondered this and done some looking at verse 10, the righteousness and truth kissing each other. And this bond from looking at the two Adams, this bond has been broken. unfortunately by the first Adam and I do see a Christ moment here that Christ was the only one that brought those together as the second Adam and so he proved by his life that Christ or God's justice did not destroy mercy.

And that is, of course, the ever challenging experience. I see the adversary always wanting to break those apart, to divorce mercy from truth and justice. And I think he's seeking to prove that the righteousness of God's law is an enemy to peace.

And that's the lie of Satan. And so Jesus as the second Adam, the second Adam, came and is the unique demonstration to bring those together. And I see this as a portrayal of the second Adam.

Over. Yeah, Roger, well said. Thank you for that.

And I think that Jerry KG6J was saying something similar earlier, and it is absolutely true that Jesus is merciful, Jesus is truthful, Jesus is righteous. and Jesus brings peace. And so if we're going to have righteousness, if we're going to have peace, if we're going to have mercy, if we're going to have truth, where are we going to get it from?

We're going to get it from the Lord Jesus. And so in that sense, verse 10 is certainly a description of who Jesus is and what Jesus brings and produces in our lives. Because he's merciful and because he's righteous, he provides us with truth.

He says, I am the ways, the truth, and the life. And he provides us with peace. Peace I leave with you.

My peace I give unto you, not as the world gives. give I unto you. So certainly there's a messianic description here in verse 10 of what Jesus brings and what Jesus produces and who Jesus is.

And Roger, I appreciate you bringing that out. And Jerry KG6J was pointing to that as well. I kind of pointed in a different direction there for a minute, but I think the direction you guys are pointing in is completely legitimate and glorifying to Christ.

And so, you know, it says in verse 12, The Lord shall give that which is good. Well, what's good but mercy, truth, righteousness, and peace? And so we can't have those things apart from Christ bringing them to us and giving them to us as an act of his grace.

Roger, great comment. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. All right, other comments, please come now.

KB7, ZXN. Kevin, KB7, ZXN, please go ahead. KB7, ZXN, thank you, and thank you for the comment, and I concur.

This, I think, is really a beautiful picture of the atonement and only the work that is done in Christ. You know, when we think about the conflict throughout the history of mankind, of justice and peace are at odds with each other, you know, because of our sins. Yet that is brought together and reconciled through the atonement of Christ.

The work that he did can bring together justice through his righteousness and bestow peace upon those. that trust in his atonement and his work that he accomplished on the cross. And so I think this is a very important picture of the restoration.

Romans 3, 25 and 26 really come to mind that I think express this atonement. hear this restoration that's presented here in this portion of the text. I also just want to kind of reflect on verses 8 and 9 right prior to this too where first thing is to hear, to listen to what God says.

To hear God, to turn our ear to Him to hear his word, to receive his guidance. And then this opens up. KB 7 is that example.

Yeah, Kevin, thank you for bringing out the passages in Romans there. Kevin mentioned Romans 3, 25 and 26. I just want to read those.

It says of Jesus that God has set him forth to be a propitiation or a satisfaction of his wrath. against us through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are passed through the forbearance of God to declare I say at this time his righteousness that he might be just and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus and so Kevin was making that connection between the righteousness of God and the forgiveness of God and the mercy of God and of course it goes on to say in Romans 5 and Verse 1, therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. This whole dynamic of mercy and truth and righteousness and peace are all wrapped up in the gospel and the saving work of Jesus and in the fruits and results he produces.

And so he's the one who brings us mercy. He's the one who brings us peace. And he does so through the truth that he preached.

and also through the righteousness purchased on the cross for us by satisfying the wrath of God against our sins Kevin thanks for bringing out that connection with those New Testament passages and yeah earlier in this psalm He says here in verse 4, Turn up, O God of our salvation, and cause thy anger towards us to cease. And we really see the nature of repentance there. Repentance is a turning.

It's a turning away from sin, and it's a turning toward God. and yet this turning is something that we don't have the power to do in and of ourselves. And so he prays that God would turn his heart.

You know, a lot of people think they can go and commit a sin, and then when they're done with the pleasure of it and the benefit that they think they're going to get out of it, well, then they'll repent. Well, no. You know, the power of repentance is not in us.

We need that given to us as a gift of God. And so repentance is something we can turn on and off like a faucet. It's a grace that God communicates to us.

It's a gift that he provides us with. And to be given over to our sins and be unable and unwilling to repent of them is a terrible judgment. And so another good argument for not going into sin, because you can get yourself into sin, but you can't get yourself back out of it.

You need grace and mercy from God. So if you're in bondage to a sin that you can't seem to break in your life, Then pray, God, turn me away from this sin. God, grant me repentance.

God, change my heart so that what I love, that you will cause me to hate. And so we see Paul struggling with that in Romans 7. The things that I don't want to do, those are the things that I do.

And the things I do want to do, I don't do those things. Lord, I'm a wretched man. Lord, turn my heart.

And so we pray for God's grace and strength to change our hearts so that we don't want sin and we're not then, therefore, in bondage. All right, Kevin, great comment. Thank you for that.

All right, any other comments on our passage? Please come out to call us. WB7, visit L.

Roger, please go ahead with your comment. Yes, I sure want to. I had the opportunity, Kevin, to look that passage up in Romans 3, and I've got it marked quite a bit.

as well. That was a perfect passage for highlighting verse 10 of our passage today. And thank you, Max, for the wonderful piece that Romans 5 brings when he talks, you know, of course, talks about the first Adam and the second Adam in Romans 5.

But thank you. That was wonderful. And thank you, Max, for a beautiful sharing.

Yeah, repentance does come from God. That's one of the great lessons from Scripture. It doesn't come from our sinful hearts.

Thank you, Max. WB7VZL. Yeah, Roger.

You know, I think one of the things that's really helpful is for us to personalize the prayer that's in this psalm. So, verse 4. Turn me, O God, of my salvation And cause thine anger towards me to cease Wilt thou be angry with me forever?

Wilt thou draw thine anger to all generations? Wilt thou not revive me again? that I may rejoice in you.

Show me thy mercy, O Lord, and grant me thy salvation. Verse 8, I will hear what the Lord God will speak, for he will speak peace to me, but let me not return again to my folly. Surely God's salvation is near to me as I fear him, that his glory may dwell and be manifested in my life.

So, you know, these are all stated in the third person. I think it's really important that we not view this needs to request abstractly, but that we try to apply them to ourselves and put ourselves in the place of the psalmist. All right, any other comments on this passage?

Please come out your call sign. Kevin, KB7 is at extent. Go ahead.

Kevin, KB7 is at extent. Well, thank you for that, Max, and that last point you made I think is an important one. we can certainly you know as we look at this text it is a wonderful prayer and it is one that we can certainly personalize too and what a wonderful point to make a prayer to have is a prayer not to return to our folly not to return to our sin not to relive and fall into the same temptations of the past because our sin nature which still dogs us as they say in the south still kind of works on us and so I think it is important that though this is really kind of a national prayer, if you will, there's a lot of application here for us personally as well, and I thank you for making that point.

KB7, is that acceptable? Yeah, Kevin, and you know, when we look at the way this psalm closes, verse 13, he shall set us, that last phrase of verse 13, he shall set us in the way of his steps. And, you know, I need God to put me in his path.

I need him to direct my steps. I need him to turn my heart. I need him to cause me to turn away from my sins.

And so, you know, the good news is that sanctification is not something we do for God. A sanctification is something we do with God because without him we can do nothing. And yes, we're supposed to work out the implications of our salvation with fear and trembling, but it's God who works in us to will and to do of his good pleasure.

And so as we look at this psalm, yes, they are repenting, but they're also recognizing that unless God works in their hearts, turns them and guides them into the way of His steps, they're not going to be very successful with their repentance. But what we see as we read Ezra and Nehemiah, that in fact they did turn away from this sin, they did not go back to that sin, and there was a great national deliverance with reference to it. So the prayer of this psalm was effectual, and in fact Israel was forgiven, And they did, were able to go ahead and rebuild the wall and the temple and have victory with reference to this effort of Satan to subvert them away from faithfulness to God.

All right, we are out of time. Are there any final prayer requests before we go to prayer? Please come down to your call.

We want to thank each of the stations who checked in this morning, as well as those who stood by to give us a clear operating frequency. We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m. in order to read the scriptures, understand their meaning message and application, and then pray for grace and mercy to be able to live out what we learned and for God to meet the needs of those that are in our circle of fellowship.

I'll be returning the frequency now to regular amateur use. This is WB7MAX. I'll be clear and standing by.

I'll pass the 5-inch here with today's joke. Okay, I lost my FDR for a minute. I got it back now.

If anybody put out their call sign, please come back again. Alpha Alpha 580 with today's joke. All right, Beck, Alpha Alpha 580, yeah, sorry for that glitch on my end.

Go ahead there, Beck. We're waiting with bated breath. Okay.

What? Are you okay? What did the cake say to the fork?

What did the cake say to the fork? Wow, I bet it wasn't very happy, but yeah, go ahead and tell us, Beck. Now, for some reason, this reminds me of a line in a movie.

I'm not sure, but... I see Sylvester Stallone standing. You want a piece of me?

What did the cake say to the fork? Do you want a piece of me? That's good, Beck.

I appreciate that. All right. Any other comments?

Please come down to your call sign. That was good, Keith. That was good, y'all.

Thank you. I'm all out now. All right, WB7MX here.

Anybody want to have a chat after the net, throw out your call sign and we'll recognize you. Go ahead. Hey, K6OK.

Max, you're very capable of your talk today. You will do fantastic, and you'll bless a lot of people. Yeah, thanks for that, Jeff.

Really appreciate that, Rob. Yeah, you know, God has met me every time. I'm sure he'll meet me again.

I don't ever want to be presumptuous. So always express that dependence and that need for grace, and God's good. So anyway, yeah, always have pre-preaching anxiety, but, you know, once you get in the pulpit and you get started...

May God meet you, the words flow, and I'm really grateful for the thousands of times you've helped me, and I believe and trust you'll help me again. So yeah, I'll be preaching at 9 o'clock, so appreciate your prayers for me today as the keynote speaker of the conference. All right, WB7MAX, back to you guys.

We start the Bible study at 6:00. What we do is we just read through the Bible. We discuss its content, its application to our lives.

Then we take prayer requests and we close in prayer. But go ahead and tell us about Patriot Mobile now that the net's over. We always have a little discussion afterward.

Be glad to hear what you have to say. Go ahead. I was just curious how many people are already aware of it or had it.

That was my first question. I would explain it in a little bit more detail of what it is. And those that already know, I'm sure they're aware of it all.

So I'll stand by for any questions that are, let me start over again. It's been a long night. Any questions?

- All right, thank you for the-- - KB7, ZXN. - On the net, use Patriot Mobile. Coming out with your call sign.

Well, I personally don't use it, but I'm familiar with it. They are a good company from everything I've seen. They contribute a lot to the political realm, especially in Texas, in promoting creativity.

### Summary of the West Coast Bible Study

Participants included Danny, Bert, Brian, Keith, Peter, Jerry, Steve, Roger, Cody, Kevin, and others, with Roger reporting from a hotel in Pleasanton, California. Prayer requests were shared for Emma (Doug's granddaughter with pneumonia), Darlene's congregation in Guam, and various personal and health-related needs of group members.

The discussion centered on Psalm 85, which was written after Israel's return from Babylonian captivity. Verses 1-2 were noted for God's forgiveness and restoration, while verses 3-4 emphasized the need for repentance and breaking away from sin. Verses 10-13 were discussed in relation to Christ's mercy, truth, righteousness, and peace, with Kevin and Roger connecting these themes to Romans 3:25-26. The group also emphasized the importance of personalizing the psalm's prayer.

The session concluded with a prayer for health, work, and spiritual needs, including those mentioned in the check-ins and prayer requests. The group meets daily at 6 a.m. for Bible study and prayer. A joke was shared at the end, and there was a brief mention of Patriot Mobile, though it was not further explored.
