Psalm 65 from the King James, representing the Max translation, the 1611. Praise... waiteth for thee, O God in Zion, and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. Iniquities prevail against me, as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away. Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts.

We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation. Who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea?

Over. I'm going to read a little bit from the message, which is my interpretation because I'm a little bit thick in the head. From the message, silence is praise to you, the dwelling God, also obedience.

You hear the prayer in it all. We will arrive at your doorstep sooner or later. Gloated with guilt are sin too much for us, but you get rid of them once and for all.

Blessed are the chosen. we felt the hand of god so to speak you know eastern washington has been over a haze for it seems like the last month of all these forest fires and even up here in the mountains i'm a hundred miles north of spokane near canada and it still was hazy. Couldn't really see the stars. It was quite discouraging.

And we had a bit of a respite lately, but the experience of Saturday night in the sun, the and Sunday morning really reminded me of what I was reading this morning. Thou waterest, in verse 10, the ridges thereof abundantly. Finally, eastern Washington...

has received some rain, at least in this part. I talked to some local old-timers. I went visiting Sunday afternoon to my neighbors because I haven't been up here for two seasons because of my dad's passing.

And... The storm that we had last Saturday night, Sunday morning about 1230 or so when I woke up, was a thunderstorm and rain that was devastating. just astounding, even to the locals.

The old timers, they said they hadn't seen something like that for a long time, if forever. And it was a strobe show of lightning, and it And then we had the wonderful downpour to put out any fires. But most of the strikes were within the clouds, and it was a show of God's mighty power.

Jeff, back to you. Yes, I love that. And that's what this film is all about, is mighty power.

And through all of this, through fires, and look at what's going on in Reno right now, there's a massive fire going there. A couple of hams that I'm aware of may have gotten evacuated yesterday. Fills the entire area with smoke.

But God has this way of righting the wrong. That was a man-made fire and yes, thunderstorms are spectacular. And we don't see those down here in California at all.

Rarely do we see lightning ever. I remember when I was a young boy, my family was from Buffalo, Wyoming. and I just so much enjoyed the afternoons.

Just about every afternoon we'd have a massive thunderstorm. And I just thought it was spectacular to watch. And that's what this is talking about.

And you know, we don't, as older guys, I'm 73, but I remember the days when you could actually see all every night go out and you can see the stars you know in California here we've got so much light pollution that's pretty pretty hard but the other night I took my brand new daughter in law they just got married and took her out in the backyard and we sat down and I took out my night vision scope and I said how many stars do you see out there and she said maybe 30 or 40 and I turned on the night scope and we saw thousands and she was shocked and so was I there's so much like police these days that you can't see what you used to be able to see I remember from Davis, California where I live we could see Mount Shasta once in a while and I haven't seen that for 25 years the police is just eating it up but God's got this amazing way of making it right I love it any other comments?

there's got to be some comments out there go ahead Good morning, go ahead. Good morning, Jeff, Roger, and the bunch. Good to hear everyone this morning.

Yeah, just step back a minute and give a little context to the psalm. I know we're used to Max always providing such a wonderful introduction to these psalms. In this case, we see kind of a change in that we're not talking about laments, we're not talking about wicked enemies.

We're not talking about being on the run. But what a beautiful expression of worship of God we do see in this psalm. And we see kind of it in three sections, if you will.

First, the intimate personal worship. of God in silence, even that intimate time with God. Now, the idea is of this psalm was most scholars believe that it was either following a victory, maybe from like the Edomites or something like that, a great victory, or more likely following a drought and now the rains have come as Roger you talked about you know when you go through a dry period you're going through some trials and then God brings the blessing God brings the rain But going back to kind of how it's separated in three sections here, first is that intimate worship with God and the recognition that he is our salvation, that he is a source of that blessing, And this is the same God, the same covenant, loving, kindness, merciful God that bestows His grace upon us that is the God of all creation.

And that's really the second section we see here is He's the God of the cosmos, as we've talked about in past songs as well in the vastness we see recognized in Romans 1.20. But we also see here, too, that God is the God of the harvest. and and and one day there'll be a great harvest as we know but God is the God of all nations we also see a little prophetic glimpse here too that God is not only the God of Israel but God is the God of all peoples and Okay, thank you.

And yes, also well said. Yeah, that's That made it maybe in a sense more difficult, but they use the word "heart" H-A-R-T, over. Okay, and where is that?

Psalm 42. We read it about two weeks ago, over. Yes, okay, they don't use the word "dear." Are the rest of the words directly from that?

Make the music right out of the truth. And thanks for finding that. I know that is a tough thing to try to do, is to go back and find out where did this song come from?

I saw a reference last night to Psalm 65, too. So I'm trying to extract that out of this psalm as well, Roger. Uh.

you Oh, and there it is. It's back. Yeah, well, I'm just curious about what triggered Solve 65 even before we read it this morning of yesterday.

It was at a worship service yesterday, over? No, I was reading a commentary last night, studying a little bit for this, and it was mentioned that Psalm 65 was what that song was patterned after, but I don't see that exact reference in here. I don't see, by reading it in the translations we read, I don't see that connection, Roger.

Yeah, I understand. So, not really sure, Roger. Um, anyways he's got another comment on here today.

that we recognize that God has. And, you know, a lot of these psalms have been of David kind of complaining, I think is the right word, or showing fear. And this is the only, this is more of a declaration in three verses.

Pacific City a couple of weeks ago with my family and sure got a strong dose of the power of the noise from those waves. Over. Yes, I've experienced the power of the seas many times in trips that we've taken in our own boat many, many years ago between Newport Beach, California and Catalina Island.

Dawn and dusk take turns calling, come and worship. Wow, thoughts and power we can't even imagine. So everybody, good morning and any more comments before we head on to some prayer time, over.

Thank you. please hear our prayers. We continue to pray for our brother Jerry, his dental issue.

We just ask those to be corrected and he would be pleased at his suffering there. For our brother Brian K., that For Brother Ed, Ed6XLH, his brother-in-law Ed and his wife need to sell their house. We ask that wildfire be led to them.

For our brother Will, Ketel Mike 5 Boxer, we pray for his hormone treatment, radiation, the effective restraining and removing the prostate cancer he's afflicted with. And for his wife, Martha Faye, has a broken toe. We continue to pray for her healing and we give praise for a poor kid who's getting better.

And for Joe, 87, WBB, he asks us to lift up his brother, Jim, who has a head injury, and we ask for healing there. For our brother Jeff, a case of no pain, we continue to ask your blessing on the Bibles, the 20,000 Bibles that went out to the troops. Replace them.

We ask that you close with... to bless all that they come into contact with, especially our enemies. And we just pray that if they were to see it, read those, their hearts and minds would be changed.

And for you, God, to... uh, save and sanctify the soldiers in, in blessing those. And also we all want to lift up Jeff's daughter for lupus condition and his son who also has MS.

And so we pray that you're bringing hands beyond them as those conditions continue to flare up. For Carol, KK7TPO, her son-in-law Chris had back surgery recently and we pray for a good outcome and speedy recovery there. For our brother Tom, WW17, Tom's recovering from major spine surgery and is in a wheelchair.

We pray his physical therapy will provide relief and pain from the pain and increase mobility. We pray his needs for an electric wheelchair will be met. We pray that his antenna will be fixed and will be back up on character in full form.

For our brother Ben, Alpha Phi, Alpha Phi, Alpha Phi, Yankee, we pray for his continued healing from this accident, his head injury. We ask for the resolution of his double vision, and we pray for a full restoration of his hearing and his right ear. His wife, Fanny, and neighbor, Nan, need healing from terminal cancer and to be saved.

We pray for the healing of Fanny's cold. We pray for a full recovery for Kathleen Vaughn, who broke her neck after her surgery. But instead, she's doing much better now.

Her pastor, Jack Black, has a severe ulcerative colitis. pray for his healing through the medical treatment he's receiving. We lift up our brother Cody, K-I-7-T-R-F, for the healing of his father Roger and his age-old colon cancer.

We also pray for the healing of his uncle Doug, of the leader from severe head injury. We pray for his ongoing treatment and recovery and that Cody's niece Zoe is in need of salvation. We pray for the suppression of the wildfires all over the U.S.

We give praise for the thunderstorms that come to clear out and help manage those fires, clear out the smoke, and give us some relief there. We pray for the safety of the firefighters, and we pray for the victims that are suffering as a result of those fires. For Steve, W6YSI, for the sailors, this moment challenge California and for the wisdom in finding a new home to purchase in Toulumne County, California.

We also lift up his daughter, Lisa, who's having neck and back surgery today at noon some of our guest pastors that are doing a wonderful job filling in. We give thanks to you for that. We also want to ask Leslie Monti, a Midwest Bible study at 4 a.m.
