Alright, we are in Psalm 59 today, that's Psalm 5-9. And, you know, ever since Psalm 54, the subject matter of each psalm has been the same. And the subject matter is this, the saint of God is being antagonized by wicked men.

The same theme is scattered elsewhere in the book of Psalms as well. It's a pretty major theme. And the reason for the abundance of Psalms dealing with this theme of the saint of God being antagonized by wicked men, the reason for that is rooted in Genesis chapter 3 and verse 15.

You remember that after Adam and Eve fell and God was pronouncing the outcome of that fall in the Garden of Eden, He said in Genesis 3:15, "I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." And so what we have here is the enmity between Satan and Christ, and between all of Satan's people, and all of the people who follow love. and believe in Jesus Christ. So what we're in is a spiritual war between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light.

And so that's the reason for the constant spiritual warfare because we have this constant spiritual warfare between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. It's been there since the fall. It will be there until the second coming.

You know, I had a guy say to me once, Pastor, can't we all just get along? And I said, no, we can't, because we're in a war, and we've got the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light working against each other. And so that's the theological basis for the personal experience that all of us have at one level or another.

And while the outcome of this battle between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light is certain, nevertheless, the battle itself is prolonged and continuous and difficult that lasts for our whole lifetime. And, of course, it's been going on all down through the generations. We just look at the history that's recorded in the Bible.

We see it. We look at the history of our own lives. We see it as well.

Now, while David's conflicts that he records here in Psalms often had political and military dimensions, because of his particular situation, our conflicts that are in the realm of the church, they're in the realm of the world, like our jobs and stuff. and our families. And these conflicts are no less difficult than his.

And we stand in need of the same counsel and the same remedies that David did with his conflicts. Spiritual warfare could take place on many fronts. and in many different ways, but they all require the same spiritual perspectives and remedies.

So there's really nothing new about spiritual warfare. It's the same today as it was in David's day. And that's why when we read these songs, we get so much personal help out of them.

because what he's going through, we're going through, though the circumstances are different, the opponents may be different, nevertheless, the context is the same. Now, the heading of our psalm tells us that this psalm was written in response to the event that is recorded in 1 Samuel 19, verses 8 to 18. So you'll notice the head of our psalm says to the chief musician, Adacus, Michitam of David, when Saul sent and they watched the house of David to kill him.

All right, so that's the context of our psalm. Now, that story... is in 1 Samuel 19:8-18.

And there, after David had killed Goliath, and the people began to praise David for this mighty feat that he had done, King Saul became jealous of David and determined to destroy him. And if ever the case that proud people cannot bear to have others receive legitimate praise for their legitimate accomplishments, because they want to be praised alone and they don't want anybody else getting any attention. They want it all for themselves.

And so they deeply resent it when other people are praised. And so they go on a campaign to destroy the one who is legitimately being praised for their legitimate accomplishments. And they try to pull that person down so that the praise and attention and focus will return back to them.

Because every other object of praise has been destroyed by them. So in his jealousy and envy and pride, Saul determined to destroy David. And he sent men to David's house to surround the house and kill him when he came out in the morning.

But Michael, his wife, helped him to escape that night by letting him down on a rope out of the window. And Saul's plan was foiled. And so it was, as David is in his house that night, surrounded, people waiting to kill him the next morning, it was out of that unjustified attempt to kill David that he wrote this psalm, and we have these words that are before us.

And so that's the background, that's the situation. And so as you read this psalm, as Jeff reads this psalm for us, be thinking about David in his house, is surrounded by enemies who are going to kill him when he comes out in the morning. And so these are the thoughts that are going through his head.

before Michael's wife lets him down on the rope through the window and he escapes. All right, Jeff, AK6OK, please read for us Psalm 59. And good morning, Max.

Good morning, everybody else. We've got 29 checked in here plus, I'm sure. Yeah, it's a great turnout for such poor fan conditions, and everybody is starting to come up.

It's looking good. I'm going to read out of the NLT, and let's start with verse 1. Rescue me from my enemies, O God.

Protect me from those who have come to destroy me. Let me turn this down here just a bit. Sorry, guys, about that feedback.

There we go. And verse 2, rescue me from these criminals. Save me from these murderers.

They have set an ambush for me. Fierce enemies are out there waiting, Lord. Though I have not sinned or offended them, I've done nothing wrong, yet they prepare to attack me.

wake up see what's happening and help me verse 5 O Lord God of Heaven's armies the God of Israel wake up and punish these hostile nations show no mercy to wicked traitors they come out at night snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets Listen to the filth that comes from their mouths. Their words cut like swords. After all, who can hear us?

They sneer. But Lord, you laugh at them. You scoff at the hostile nations.

You are my strength. I wait for you to rescue me. For you, O God, are my fortress.

Verse 10. Verse 10. and his unfailing love my God will stand with me he will let me look down in triumph on all my enemies don't kill them Lord for my people soon forget such lessons stagger them with your power and bring them to their knees O Lord our shield because of the sinful things they say because of the evil that's on their lips let them be captured by their pride their curses and their lies destroy them in your anger wipe them out completely then the whole world will know that God reigns in Israel verse 14 my enemies come out at night gnarling like vicious dogs and they prowl the streets they scavenge for food but go to sleep unsatisfied But as for me, I will sing about your power.

Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I'm in distress. All my strength to you I sing praises.

For you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love. And there is Psalm 59. Thank you, Max.

Any comments on Psalm 59, please come down to call sign. Whoa, KM5S, please go ahead. Well, I'm looking at the first part of the description and the comments that you had made before.

I didn't realize how much of a narcissist that Saul actually was. And David was the object of Saul's narcissism plus a whole bunch of others. And I find that interesting, KM5S.

Will, you are exactly correct to label Saul as a narcissist. One of the marks of a narcissist is they want all the attention for themselves, and they hate it when anybody else gets any attention. And you remember that when David came back from slaying Goliath, the people were shouting, Saul has slain his thousands, but David his ten thousands, which was a statement of truth, okay?

David had killed far more of the Philistines. than Saul had, and of course David had killed Goliath, which Saul hadn't. And so he deserved that higher level of praise for a higher level of accomplishment.

And if Saul were a normal person, he would have been applauding David's accomplishment because it blessed the nation. And he was glad for the nation, and he was glad for the success of another. And that's how you know a humble person.

A humble person is always glad to see others praised. And a proud person hates it when other people are praised. And so this is, you know, he's a liar.

He's self-centered. He's a manipulator of other people. He has no empathy.

And so you're right, Will, to label Saul as a narcissist. Saul was an unsaved man, and that's the reason why he behaved in the fashion that he did. Will, great comment.

Alright, I'm back with you. I think I heard the word "follow-up." Will, if you have a follow-up, go ahead. If that was somebody else, please go ahead.

KM5S. Yeah, narcissists tend to focus a lot of energy on one person and that's what Saul is doing with David and David's also being focused by a lot of other narcissistic people too. KM5S.

Yeah, copy that. They focus on one person and try to destroy them. Yep.

Will, thank you for that additional comment and explanation of narcissism. Many of us have been the victims of folks like that, and so once again, the Bible provides us with counsel about how to deal with them, and the best thing you can do with a narcissist is just get away from them, because you're not going to change their attitude and behavior towards you by reasoning with them providing facts, logic, biblical principle, none of that makes any impact on them at all. So we just have to get away and pray for God to deal with them.

And that's what David did, right? And ultimately God did deal with him, and David was delivered from him. All right, thank you, Will, for that.

Yeah, Max, you know, as I was reading along, I noticed in verse 11, don't kill them, for my people soon forget such weapons. Stagger them with your power and bring them to their knees. O Lord, our shield.

I looked up in the message and it explained that a little more, because right below that, in 13, he said, destroy them in your anger. That's two different things. In my own mind, it's like, Lord, don't kill them.

And then he turns around and says, destroy them with your anger. Wipe them out completely. So anyway, I went over to the message and looked at it.

And it explains it a little differently. It says, don't make quick work of them, God, lest my people forget. Bring them down in slow motion.

Take them apart piece by piece. Let their mean mouth arrogance catch up with them. catch them out and bring them down every mother muttered curse every barefaced lie finish them off in fine style finish them off for good then all the world will see that God rules well in Jacob everywhere God's in charge so a little different perspective over Jeff, you nailed it.

That's exactly what is being expressed there by David. In verse 11, David does not want them to all be destroyed immediately in one fell swoop, because people might soon forget them and the lesson to be learned about God's judgment on them. So his desire is to see their unity destroyed, their power broken, their defeat displayed for a long enough time for people to take note and learn the lesson of the folly of assaulting a servant of God.

But David, even though he asked for an extended display of their defeat before the eyes of men, would not have them live out all of their days. And once the lesson of God's judgment on them is learned by the people of God, then it's time for them to go. And so he now prays for their destruction and their departure, that God would consume them, and that they may be removed from the land of the living.

So that God's rule over them is first their defeat, and then finally their death, and that that would be apparent to all. And of course that's exactly what happened to Saul and his enablers, right? Saul experienced a long lingering defeat that was apparent to all over the process of the years, and then there was a final destruction at the hand of the Philistines.

And Jeff, this is exactly what happens to Satan, right? Satan was defeated at the cross, and then he has this long 2,000 year lingering humiliation, And then there will be his death in the lake of fire, where he'll be separated from us forever. So a display of defeat, and once that lesson is clearly learned, then a destruction to follow.

So Jeff, the way you described it is exactly what the passage is teaching. Back to you there, Jeff. Okay, thank you, Max.

That was a, when I was reading that, I said, wait a second. I hear two different things going on here. But that's why it's always good to look at a different perspective and come up with your own decisions of what you see there.

Max, over. Well said. And, you know, what seem to be apparent contradictions always have a legitimate explanation.

You just have to give them some thought and some research and compare it with other passages, and then it's like, oh, okay, that's how it goes. And, you know, if God is the author of the Bible, and he is, and if he's inter-wise and inerrant and infallible, and he is, then there are no contradictions in the Bibles. There's just things that have to be figured out.

And if you apply yourself to them and, you know, reflect and compare, it soon becomes clear how this all works together. And so, Jeff, thank you for pointing that out and for explaining to us the resolution of that. All right, any other comments on this passage?

Yeah, Ted, you're exactly right. You know, God is to us what we are to him. If we reject Him, He's going to reject us.

If we embrace Him, He's going to embrace us. So, you know, you see the goodness and the severity of God. You know, the severity of God is on those who rebelled against God, defied God.

and attacked God's people. He deals very severely with them. And then those who humble themselves before God, follow God, love His people, God deals with a great deal of goodness towards them.

So, you know, it depends upon what your attitude is towards God, what your behavior is towards God. All right, real good, back. Thank you for that, Dave.

At first, I was looking for check-in. So, KB7ZXN, yeah, wonderful comments and observations and good introduction too, Max. Yeah, these Psalms are interesting.

One of the things I think worth noting, too, is David's response is turning to God, prayer and worship. And it's wonderful how God works through the different circumstances and great observations about Saul. He was certainly...

We've seen souls at different levels in our lives. You might call them borderline personalities, narcissistic, all these things, larger than charged but empty. And that is all because they're void of the...

spirit of God and they're bored of the relationship with God and but it is interesting I think in this case too on this circumstance well and even here we see how many times Saul's children whether Jonathan or in this case Michael his daughter coming to the aid David and in trying to assist and help him through this circumstance and but I thought it's interesting the method of the method used to tip for his rescue to utilize an idol and goat's hair for him to as part of the escape plan and rouge on these wicked men of Saul. And I think there's also kind of an implication here too, not only of David's specific circumstance, but we see this also later in the siege of a city as well. When all things look hopeless, that looks like okay Saul's got him trapped the enemy's got David trapped and there's just no hope but how many times have we seen when Israel or Judah is following the Lord and an enemy has seized the city but God has provided a deliverance as well.

Now, when they're not following the Lord, the outcomes can be quite different. But anyway, there's also kind of some national implication, I think, here too, that we see. KV7, is that acceptable?

Yeah, Kevin, thanks for that comment. You know, we're focusing on David's enemies and how they behave, and Saul in particular, and his conduct. And yet Kevin makes a really important point, and that is, let's focus for a second on Michael and how she came to David's assistance.

and how that time and again God brought people like Jonathan into David's life who assisted him. You know, there were some priests who helped him. And, you know, in this spiritual world, we've got to take sides.

And first of all, we take sides with Jesus and his word and his truth. And then secondly, we take sides with those who love Jesus, his word and his truth, and are following him. And we stand against those who are violating the word of God and who are engaging in lies and slander and who desire to bring harm to the people of God.

And so this is often the case that... We look at it, and it's not us directly who's experiencing the spiritual warfare, but we need to step in and bear the burdens of those who are. We need to stand with them, we need to stand beside them, and we need to help them and strengthen their hands.

in that battle. So here we got Michael, a great example of someone who, instead of standing with Saul, like all these wicked soldiers did, we have someone who's standing with David. And so let's be Michaels, and even though we're not being directly assaulted, we don't say, oh, it doesn't affect me.

Well, you know, if you're part of the body of Christ and part of the body is being attacked, you're being attacked, and that's what the message of 1 Corinthians 12 is all about. The hand cannot say to the eye, I have no need of thee. So let's stand with and stand for those who are standing with Jesus today and standing for Jesus.

Katie 7 WVV is pointing out verse 8 where it says, But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them, thou shalt have all the heathen in derision. And that laugh is a laugh of scorn. It's the same kind of laugh we see in Psalm 2.

where it says, Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder. Let us cast their cords from us.

He that sits in the heaven shall laugh. The Lord shall have them in derision. So when we see God laughing in Psalm 2 and we see him laughing here in Psalm 59, that's a laugh of scorn.

It's a laugh of derision. You know, it's the same kind of laughter that, than an elephant would have toward a mouse when the mouse said, "You know, I'm going to attack you and kill you," and the elephant would just, you know, snicker. He would laugh and go, "That's ridiculous." And so that's what's going on here, is these people think they're so strong, they think they're so powerful, they think they're going to damage the cause of the kingdom of God, the reputation of God, and the people of God, and God goes, "No, you're not." And He laughs at them because it's so stupid for them to think that they can triumph over God by triumphing over his people.

And what we see, Joe, as we look at the scriptures, is all throughout history, all of those who set themselves against God and his people always wound up being destroyed for having done so. And so it's a laughable thing. that someone would think to set themselves against God.

Please come now. Thank you. Alright, while you're thinking, I'm going to comment a little bit on the conclusion of this psalm, verses 16 and 17.

Notice he says in verse 16, "I will sing of thy power, and I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning." For thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble. Verse 17, unto thee, O my strength, who I sing. For God is my defense and the God of my mercy.

And so we see how David employs music in his worship. He employs music in his seeking of personal encouragement. And you know, I've quoted Martin Luther many times on this, but I'll quote him again.

When Martin Luther was being severely attacked by the Roman Catholic Church, and he was really discouraged, he said, "Let us sing a hymn and drive the devil away." And basically they resorted to music to encourage their hearts and to give them perspective, strength and hope. and even joy in the midst of the severe persecution that he was experiencing. This is exactly what David's doing.

And you know when you're down and you feel like, I can't pray, I can't read the Scripture, turn on some music, and better yet, pick up a hymnal and start doing the singing yourself. And music is a powerful weapon in spiritual warfare to give us hope, courage, faith, strength, and joy, even in the midst of hard times. All right, other comments, please come down to the call line.

And Max, boy, what a wonderful statement that is, an observation. You're exactly right. And that's why I pointed out earlier here, David's response to this is to come to God and worship.

And part of that worship is singing praise. And, you know, the first refrain is verses 9 and 10 in this hymn. And the second refrain is the 16 and 17 there.

And the focus on God. But you're right. And that's what I love.

I mean, there's some good hymns, I suppose, or good newer ones, too. I'm still trying to convince myself of that. But so many of the good old hymns are right out of the Psalms, right out of the text of the Word of God, and can be so uplifting in worship.

you know what we're going through great challenges and uh and as david here as he's surrounded and looks uh pretty hopeless he knows it's not hopeless uh because he's got god kb7 is unacceptable amen kevin and you know you point out something really important here and that is don't focus on your enemies Don't focus on your circumstances. Focus on your God. Because He has the enemies under control and He is directing the circumstances in order to work all of that together for our good.

And so what I find for myself is I've got to quit looking horizontally at my enemies and at my circumstances. I've got to start looking vertically at God. Who is What are His promises?

What are His purposes for my life? What has His Son done on my behalf? What is the future that He's provided for me?

What's the present strength that He supplies to me? And, you know, as you focus on God, all of your problems and all of your enemies come into perspective. And the bigger God gets in your mind, the smaller your problems are in your life.

And so, Kevin, thanks for pointing that out and how important that really is. All right, any other comments, please come down. PWM.

Thank you. We watched the video out tonight called "All Church" and it was a situation where this guy, a brand new pastor, and his job was to sell the church because there was only like 12 people using the building and it was 38 acres of nice land and all this stuff. And he has a story, he's got a vision from God, but he submits this into a fund.

It couldn't get water And then they finally got some water, and that gave them a gift of a little, you know, some water and stuff. And then, it looked like it was going to be okay. And then, I think storm comes during the harvest, and ruins the harvest.

But they had a little bit of harvest, and that's funny too. to kind of pay everything off. And they put that in the bus and took it.

And then the guy gets pulled over, and the bus keeps being pounded, and everything gets ruined. And so they're like-- and the passing sun actually is like light and dry. and then not let it run through.

Well, you could also see, I'm leaving some stuff out here, the church floor, where I was before, this is a pair of church, actually. They were in a long, you know, a long walk. Well, these guys were painting these things.

and seeing that he was right, looking out in the people. And so at the end of the story, God's will came through as, you know, um, here's the story, by the way, but God's will came through that you might not be getting what you think you want when you ask, because you're afraid, because God's plan might be different and you're not aware of it. you've got to look vertical, and you have to point level.

You know, you can't start to decide what's the plan and what's happening, and just know that it's going to work out. So you have to work out the circumstances that you're supposed to go through to protect the officers that were you not at all. First you do the right thing, and, you know, so things are really just going to be Brian, thanks for relating that story.

That movie you watched, the true movie of somebody struggling with... building a church and all the opposition that's there. You know, Brian, one of the things that I've had to realize through the years is that the way you think God is going to work and the way he actually does work are often completely different.

And a lot of exercising faith and not being discouraged... is adjusting your expectations to God's actual providences as they unfold and believing by faith that his plan is better than the one you had and that his way is better than the way you thought God would work in that situation. And so here we think, well, God is going to do this and this and this.

And he does something else besides that. And we have to say, okay, that's better than what I thought he would do. That's better than what I had planned.

And while I'm not real sure how this is going to work out or why God is doing things in this fashion... He can be trusted even though he can't be understood. And I have to adjust to his plan as manifested in his providences and not continue to stubbornly insist that if God doesn't do it my way, the way I thought he should do it, then somehow God is against me.

or God doesn't love me or whatever. So our job then is to adapt our expectations to the reality he produces, and in that reality that actually comes to pass, continue to trust him and continue to exercise faith in the problems. And in many ways, Brian, we're just along for the ride.

You know, we don't know exactly where the journey is going to take us or what turns in the road God's going to make. But what we have to do is say, okay, so God turned down this road. All right, well, then let's adjust to that.

Well, you know, God stopped here. Well, okay, then we'll wait on the Lord. And now we're going in this direction over here.

Well, that's God's will. He will call things together for good. So we're going to go with that.

And it's that attitude of humility and trust and willingness to adapt our expectations to the reality He produces and recognizes the promises are always true in that situation, which we never expected, as well as the situations that we do expect, that really constitutes saving faith and constitutes humility. in trust. So, Brian, KG7PWM, thanks for that illustration.

All right, well, let's go to the Lord in prayer. Father, we thank you for this psalm and for the instruction that it contains for us. Lord, and we recognize that as Genesis 3 and verse 15 says, there is a tremendous controversy and war and battle between Satan and his people and Christ and his people.

And that's kind of a major theme in our lives all the days of our lives. is this issue of spiritual warfare. And so as we read these psalms and how many of them deal with this theme, we realize that each of them provides us with a new perspective on ways and methods to deal with the adversaries that want to destroy us.

In fact, one of Satan's name is adversary. And so we recognize that in the end, that adversary will be defeated and cast into the lake of fire, along with all those who serve him. And in the end, Christ will give us triumph, deliverance, and vindication.

So, Lord, help us to be patient and help us to sing praise and help us to maintain faith in the promises and have a heavenly perspective on earthly trials and not just focus on our adversaries but instead upon our God. Lord, we recognize how bad human depravity can be and how low people can go. in terms of their treatment of us.

But Father, this is nothing new. We see David being treated completely unjustly in this situation as well. And so David recognized that they lie in wait for my soul, not because of my transgression or sin, but simply because...

their hatred of the righteous and now Lord we have some prayer requests we want to bring before you Lord you're strong we're weak and Lord we trust you to provide strength and healing where we are incapable we think father today of Kathleen born who broke her neck it had to be life flighted to EGEN TO SAVE HER FROM PARALYSIS. LORD, I PRAY FOR HER HEALING. I PRAY FOR HER FULL RECOVERY, AND LORD, I PRAY THAT ALL THE NERVES WOULD GROW TOGETHER AND ALL THE NEXT BONES WOULD GRows TOGETHER AND SHE WOULD HAVE NO PERMANENT DISABILITY FROM THIS ACCIDENT.

SO, LORD, HAVE MERCY ON CATHELINE VAUGHN, AND AS SANDY HAS OPPORTUNITY TO WITNESS TO HER AND OR MINISTS TO HER, I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOUR HELP TO MAKE HER ABLE TO Pray that you give them wisdom and strength in doing that. Father, we want to return thanks today for bringing Ann, N6XOH's wife, safely home from the Sacramento area. Thank you, Father, that they're together again and that you have restored her safely and answered that prayer.

Father, we want to continue to pray for our brother Ted, KK70QQ. Pray for the healing of his eye. Lord, maybe it's both, but one for sure.

Lord, I just pray that you would heal him. Father, you know how important vision is. And we also know that Jesus healed several blind folks in the gospel.

And so, Lord, you have the key to the healing of Ted's eye. And I pray, Lord, that you would bring that remedy. Father, we just want to thank you today for Brian K7 VIP.

Give him safety as he paints his house. He's up on the scaffolding. Lord, I pray that would go really well.

And, Lord, he would not suffer any injuries as he engages in some degree of risk in reaching those hard-to-reach spots on that house. Give him wisdom. managing his safety or to pray for Mike w7 T w o and the healing of his torn rotator cuff Lord we just pray that you bring healing to him and also remission of his wife Sherry from the ears disease father she had a really bad bout with that recently Lord I pray that that would go away stay in remission and not bother her anymore father we heard from Keith case having any be this morning I His daughter, Sierra, has a baby in utero with spina bifida and other complications as well.

Father, we just pray for wisdom for Sierra and her husband in the treatment options that are available to them for that child. Lord, we know that they belong to you and they want to do the right thing. They want to save the baby's life if they can.

Lord, I just ask that wisdom would be supplied, grace would be given, healing would be provided, and Lord, your name would be glorified in the way this situation with Sarah's baby turns out. Father, we pray for Ed in 6XOH. His brother-in-law, Ed, and his wife need to sell their house.

Pray, Lord, that you would facilitate that sale. Father Will, KM5F needs healing from his prostate cancer through the hormone treatment he's getting. We thank you he got the pills that he needed.

And, Lord, I pray that as radiation takes place, all of it would be used by you to the healing of his body. Father, we thank you that Carol, KK7TPO's son-in-law, Chris, had successful back surgery. Pray, Lord, that Chris would have wisdom in managing his recovery.

Father, may he do the right thing so that his back is healed quickly and strongly and without any setbacks. Father, I pray for Tom, W17. Tom lost his antenna, so he's having to listen on the SDRs.

But Lord, I just pray that he would recover well from his spine surgery, provide him with the wheelchair he needs. Lord, heal him, and Father, give him mobility, strength, and freedom from pain. as a result of this spinal surgery.

Father, we continue to pray for Beck, for the healing of his double vision. We pray for the full restoration of hearing in his ear. And Lord, we pray for Sandy and her cold.

Father, she's really been struggling. Pray that you would bring healing for that. Pray that their lawsuits that they're engaged in against the property developer would be successful and that they would get some financial remedy for their situation.

Lord, we pray for their neighbor Nancy, that she would be healed from her terminal cancer. Father, continue to pray for our pastor, Jeff Black, who has severe ulcerative colitis. Father, he's had a bit of a setback recently.

Lord, we just pray for patience. We pray for healing. Lord, we pray for his strength and for his ability to keep oxygen in his body at the level it needs to be.

Father, we -- I want to pray for Roger, Cody's TRI-7 TRF dad. He has stage four colon cancer. Father, bring healing.

And Lord, if you're not going to heal him, if you're not going Lord, I just pray that these latter days would be days of great sanctification and comfort and peace and joy in believing in Jesus Christ. Thank you, Father, that he does love you. And that whether he lives, he lives to the Lord.

Whether he dies, he dies to the Lord. And whether Doug lives or dies, he is the Lord's, or Roger, I should say. Lord, we do pray for Doug, Cody's uncle, who had a severe head injury.

Father, give him good rehabilitation and good recovery. Pray for Zoe and her salvation and for her to make wise choices. Father, we continue to pray for our brother Jerry, KG6J, for his back.

Thank you. There's been some improvement, but Lord, we know that's a long-term, ongoing chronic situation. And Lord, we just pray for relief for him.

Father, we just continue to ask for the suppression of wildfires in the western U.S. and for the safety of our firefighters. Lord, we pray that you would continue to protect homes, and Father, in this cooler weather that's here, Lord, may those fires be brought into complete control and extinguished.

I'm your brother Steve, W6YSI. that his home in Challenge would sell quickly, and that he would be able to find a new home in Tuolumne County that would be suitable for he and his wife, their TAM radio hobby, and also their ministry to their daughter and grandchildren there in Tuolumne County. just open up a place for them.

Lord, we continue to pray for Scott. T-87-Y-Q-T is White Pam, who has severe lupus. Lord, pray that the lupus would go into remission.

We pray for daughter Kendra and her multiple ongoing chronic health needs. Lord, save her vision. And Lord, the other issues she has, be pleased to bring a healing of mercy on her.

Lord, we continue to pray for Mike, KK7N. And his elevated red blood cell count, pray whatever is causing that would be resolved. And that, Lord, he would get proper treatment.

Father, our dear brother Al, KJ7QQH, has had a cellulitis flare up on his leg. Lord, thank you that he's gotten to the antibiotics. Pray for his healing.

And Lord, just strengthen him and return his leg back to normal. Father, continue to pray for Dave, AI7QQ. in his present ministry in the Idaho State Correctional Facility as a volunteer services coordinator.

Lord, give him wisdom. And then for the services that he conducts, the Bible studies in the juvenile correction facility in Idaho, Father, may those go well, and may many of those young people, Father, come to saving faith in Jesus, be delivered from a life of crime, and, Father, be a phenomenal witness for you. Lord, we pray for Keith, WB7RKR.

Lord, that you would give him wisdom in caring for his wife, Ronnie. And Lord, we pray for his sister, Harriet, and her recovery from her stroke, and for Keith and his health needs. Father, just give him strength and wisdom and good health so that he may carry for these in their respective struggles.

Father, we continue to pray for Brother Bert, W7RKD, his wife, Danny, and the remission of her MS, her multiple sclerosis. Father, may it be that that stays in remission and that she's able to have full mobility. Lord, we continue to pray for Betty, a friend of Mike, W7TWO, who is a widow now.

And, Lord, we pray for her comfort, strength, and wisdom in managing her farm. And, Lord, for her peace and safety and for the providing of all of her needs now. as you are a husband to the widow.

Father, be a husband to Betty and give her grace. Lord, we just want to thank you for your goodness and mercy and grace to each of us. Thank you especially for the gift of your son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray.

this Zen Buddhist, he's in New York, and there's a hot dog vendor that has vegetarian hot dogs, so he wants one, so, you know, they're like $10, you know, and anyhow, the guy says, well, "What do you want on your hot dog there?" And Buddha says, "Make me one with everything." And he only has a 20, and he hands him a 20, and he's waiting on his change. All of a sudden the Buddha says, "Hey, where's my change?" And the hot dog vendor says, "Change must come from within." Ha ha ha ha! That's good!

Ha ha ha ha ha! "Change must come from within." Yeah, that's funny. Thanks for that, Ted.

Okay, that's Jerry. KG6J, Jerry, go ahead. Yeah, just an observation, and I thought that was cute as well, or very good.

the band significantly shifted and everyone's signals improved down here. As you frequently share, Pastor Max, sometimes the band improves as daylight comes on, and that's exactly what happened. It started out awful, and it just really got better around 620 a.m.

So that's all I wanted to add. Wishing you all a blessed day and 7-3, KG6J. All right.

And so we're just trusting God to continue to work through this injury. One thing Cody said is that he lost about half his body weight. He was like 300 pounds.

He's down to like 150 now. So that was... K-I-7-T-R-F.

Oh, there's Cody, K-I-7-T-R-F. Cody, update us on your Uncle Doug. Go ahead.

Yep. Well, it was his left eye that he lost, not his right. Not that that really makes much difference.

He's only got one eye, but... So that was the time that he lost a lot of weight. He wasn't doing anything.

And he did have the feeding tube out, but it's difficult for him to eat. His mind is mostly returned, but when he wakes up, he forgets he's in the hospital and tries to pull out his IVs and all of that. But he's doing much better.

Yeah, well, we don't have all the details because he doesn't remember. But what we do know is he was on a riding lawnmower, you know, the zero-turn mowers. And he must have went over a bump and somehow went over the front of it.

But his, like, pants caught on the handles that, you know, pushed the mower, that tell the mower to go forward. And his head got down, like, in front of the mower, not underneath it, But, uh, and then he ran into a building like that and got knocked unconscious and was in that position, you know, kind of awkwardly upside down with his head being pushed into a wall by the mower. And the blade, you know, spinning around and I think the blade did like touch his nose, but, uh, with his head like that and no one knows how long he was like that.

A disarray was walking by on the street and saw him at 9 o'clock at night. And he called the department and got the motor off of him and did all of that. And they thought he was dead.

But he wasn't. The Lord saved him. And the Lord took him to hospital, got him out of there on time.

and we've seen the hand of the Lord in his situation, helping him at every step of the way. Amen, Cody. Thank you for that explanation.

Boy, what a tragedy. What a terrible, terrible thing that is to be in that situation with no one to rescue you for who knows how long. Beck, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, back over to you.
