I'm max back here safely from New Jersey and Thanks for working with myself and all the other people guys that jumped here to help me yesterday, and that was great. Please help us to understand Psalm 50 and completely absorb it and the meaning. And thank you so much for keeping us healthy, Lord.

Today's a beautiful Sunday. And pray for all the fires going on, Lord, that those will get squelched here quickly and get everybody back in their houses. Thank you so much, Lord.

We are blessed, eternally blessed, in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.

Thank you so much for that, Jeff, AK6OK. All right, we are in Psalm 50 today, but before we read that, we want to give a little introduction to it. Now, you guys did Psalm 49 yesterday when I wasn't here under Jeff's leadership.

Really appreciate that. And so Psalm 49 that you looked at yesterday was addressed to those because in verse 16 he addresses them as the wicked. And, of course, these are people who also claim to be believers.

They declare God's statutes. They take his covenant in their mouth and claim to be the people of God. But they subverted and twisted the meaning of Scripture, and God charges them with that, and they live lives that were contrary to the Scriptures, and he exposes them.

So this psalm is calling both the careless believer the formalist believer and also the false professor who is an hypocrite to repent. And so the first group needs revival and the second group needs salvation. So these are two categories of people that are being addressed.

And I think it's important for us to recognize that as we read through this song. Okay, there is a little introduction to Psalm 50. I'm going to go ahead and read that since band conditions are poor, and I think pretty much everybody can hear me.

Let's read Psalm 50, verses 1 to 23. I will be reading out of the King James Version. All right, Psalm 50.

Verse 1: He longed. Yeah, Kevin, well said. Thank you for that.

Before I respond to your comment, boy, we had a bunch of people show up on our SDRs. Thank you to all of you, and especially George, K2KGX. George, so good to have you there on the Utah SDR.

Thank you for being there with us. Carol KK7TPO is also there. We've got Don AC7KW and Dan N6TNI.

Alright, thank you guys for being there, showing up and checking in. Alright, back to Kevin's comment. Yes, Kevin.

You're well said. There's these two groups of people here. And you know, when you talk about the religious formalists, it reminds me of what Jesus said in John chapter 4 when he says God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth that is the content of our worship has to be accurate we've got to worship according to truth And then, of course, the engagement of the inner man has to be there.

We have to worship in spirit. And so these are the true worshipers that the Father is seeking. He's looking for people who embrace the truth.

He's looking for people who engage the heart with that truth and with him who is represented by that truth. And then you have true worship. So, yeah, it's really easy when we're sitting in church, as you said, to worship.

Notice verse 1, "The mighty God, even the Lord, has spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the going down thereof." So here he is, sovereign over the whole world, and then he zeroes in, verse 2, on Zion. That's Israel, that's His covenant community, the people of God. And then of course, verse 3, He's going to come and exercise judgment.

And He's going to call, verse 4, the heavens from above and to the earth, that He may judge His people. You're right. There's this declaration of his universal authority and control, and then there is this focus on one segment of that universal authority and control, and that's the people who claim to be part of his covenant community at this time in history, the nation of Israel.

Jeff, AK6OK, go ahead. Yeah, and as I go on, and this is a great illustration, it's like a judge in a courtroom. And the judge walks in and sits down, and the bailiff says, all rise, the court is now in session.

The honorable, whatever judge is presiding, God is. Now, move your mind's eye from the human court to the judgment seat of God himself. So to me, it's more of an attention getter.

All rise, it's time, and pay attention. Yeah, Jeff, you nailed it exactly. That is exactly the picture that's being presented here.

The judge in his courtroom, the need for respect and reverence and the readiness to give answer to the inquiries of the judge as to the situation. You know, it says in Hebrews chapter 9, it's appointed unto man once to die, and after this, the judgment. It says elsewhere, we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.

We see scenes of judgment set out constantly, Matthew chapter 25, Revelation chapter 20. And so over and over again, we are told that God is the judge, and there is a final day of judgment in which the righteous and the wicked appear before God, and he evaluates them first. as to whether they had faith in Jesus or not, and whether that faith was real as manifested by their conduct.

And that's what he's doing here. He's reasoning in this passage from the conduct of these people to the heart condition of those people. And that's why, Jeff, whenever you read about the day of judgment, the judgment's always according to works, not because we're saved by works, but because works infallibly demonstrate the true condition of our hearts whether we had faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, or whether those were just words.

And so as a man, think of in his heart, so is he. And so you look at what he is, and you can go, okay, that's what's in the heart. And that's what God does.

We're not perfect in that. We don't see as God sees. But yet, here's a courtroom.

Here's a judge. Here's the evaluation being handed out. And fortunately, this judgment is not the final judgment that's being spoken of here.

This is a checkup along the way in which God is saying, "Okay, it's time for a course correction, people. this one group of people, you need to become sincere. You are my people, this other group of people.

You claim to be my people, but you're wicked, and you need to repent of your hypocrisy and get saved. So this is a great psalm to look at ourselves and say, what category am I in? If we don't, then let's continue on in that path of honoring God with our lives that hopefully will characterize all the days of our lives.

Is that an extension? N7DIT. N7DIT, Roger, please go ahead.

Yes, and I think of the most incredible judgment that is very similar to the Day of Atonement judgment that happened every year when the high priest went into the most holy place. That is portrayed in Daniel chapter 7. It causes us to have reverence before Him.

And it also causes us to have humility. As you said, He is Elohim, He is Yahweh. He is the God that created the world.

He is the God who rules the world. He is the God who governs it according to moral principles summarized in the Ten Commandments. And of course, He is the God who provides redemption.

You know, the respect and the reverence that's shown to earthly judges in their robes when they walk in and sit upon their seats there at the desk, the judgment desk. And, you know, how much more should we stand in awe and reverence of this great God who created the heavens and the earth, who fills the heavens and the earth, who runs and rules the heavens and the earth? and who calls us to account.

Kevin, thanks for bringing out those names. All right, any other comments? Please come down.

All right, while you're thinking, I want to turn our focus to verse 15. This is one of my very favorite verses in all of the Bible, Psalm 50 and verse 15. What we have here is a wonderful invitation and a glorious promise, and then of course a great responsibility.

I mean the glorious invitation, verse 15, is "Call upon me in the day of trouble." Now, I don't know about you, but I've got lots of days of trouble in my life. Things that are bigger than me, things I can't handle. things that I don't have the resources or the wisdom to deal with.

Trouble comes. Where do we look for help? Well, God says, call on me when you're in a situation where you've got trouble.

And then he says, I will deliver thee. Okay, that's the glorious promise. Okay?

Now, he doesn't say how he's going to deliver us. He doesn't say when he's going to deliver us. But he does say that he shall deliver us.

Sometimes those deliverances are almost immediate. You remember what Peter was thinking in the ocean there when he's trying to walk on the water. He says, Lord, save me.

And Jesus immediately lifts out his hands. I mean, he called upon Jesus in the day of his trouble. He's about to drown.

and Jesus instantly delivers him. And sometimes that deliverance doesn't come until the day of judgment when you see the martyrs under the altar in Revelation chapter 6 in the fifth seal. And they're saying, Lord, how long before you give us justice with reference to those who wickedly murdered us?

And God said, well, you've just got to wait a while longer until all of my plans and programs play out in the earth And then when Jesus comes back the second time, that's when you will get the justice that you have coming to you. So he doesn't say how, he doesn't say when, but he says that he will. And we need to exercise patience with reference to that.

Look for it. It's certain to come. And, you know, like, for example, we pray for God to heal us of our sickness, right?

Sometimes he does that right away. Sometimes he does that after a year or two. Sometimes he does it in the resurrection.

In the resurrection, all of our sicknesses are going to be healed. and we're going to be no more pain or sorrow or death, for all those things will pass away. So when we see that deliverance, then what is our solemn responsibility?

Well, we're to glorify Him. When we see the deliverance, we have a responsibility to offer praise and thanksgiving and worship. for God delivering us in the days of our trouble.

And that's one of the reasons why it's really important for us in our prayers to be thankful to God for the past deliverances that he's brought to us, because that is our duty when we pray. If he answers, we need to give him praise. All right, WB7MX here, net control for the West Coast Ballast Study.

Jeff, AK6OK, please go ahead. You know, I think what we need to remember here, this is a song that can actually freak believers out pretty good. You think about the fact that we've been forgiven and so forth.

But this is more of a let's get back in the center of the lane type of a talk. And we're all still okay. However, God knows we're off the track a bit.

Over. Over. Copy that, Jeff.

You nailed it on the head. That's exactly what this problem is about. You know, you're getting over towards the ditch, you're getting over towards the guardrail, get back in your lane.

And, you know, when you're driving your car, Jeff, you're constantly making adjustments to the steering wheel, right? Right. And you make sure that you're between the white line on the side of the road and the yellow line in the middle of the road and on the right side of that.

And we have to do the same thing with our Christian lives. I have to constantly check my thinking. I have to constantly check my attitude.

I have to constantly check my behavior. And in this state of self-evaluation in light of what the Bible says I'm supposed to be doing, you know, all day long every day. And, you know, as you make those little course corrections, ah, you know, I was angry there, that wasn't right, Lord forgive me, then you don't wind up going off into greater sin, you know.

Maybe you have an impure thought, and it's like, Lord, no, don't want to go there. And so those kind of things save you from things like murder and adultery and you know you're tempted to steal or to lie or whatever, those thoughts come into your mind. You know you turn that steering wheel a little bit and get back in the center lane.

Maybe you're at church, right, and you have wandering thoughts and you go, "Oh, no, I've got to worship God in my spirit here. Let me get back in focus." And so yeah, Jeff, I love that analogy. Great analogy.

stay in the lane, make those course corrections so that you stay where you belong. Because the problem with these two categories of people is one group had swerved off into the ditch of formalism, and the other had never really been on the road in the first place. They were just false professors, and they needed to get saved.

And so those are things that we look at and we say to ourselves, Lord, I believe I'm saved, but Lord, it's too easy for me to get out of the center of the lane here. Let me get back into that. And, you know, I mean, I've talked to lots of people.

who thought they were saved, and then looking back they realized, you know, I was just a phony all the time and I didn't get saved until I was 42 or whatever, right? Even though they were raised in a Christian home, made a profession of faith, got baptized, all the things, right? Yet they came to the realization that, no, I'm twisting the Scriptures, I'm justifying my sin, I'm living for myself.

I'm not sincere and genuine in my repentance or in my faith in Jesus. So, Jeff, thank you for that. This is a good picture.

That works really well. All right, other comments. Please come down.

87, yes. All right, I think we had a double there. Let's go with Eric, KD70S, and I think Kevin was in there too.

It was kind of garbled, but Eric, KD70S, please go ahead. Yeah, hey, I'm just remembering a scripture, and I don't know if it's 100% applicable here, but Isaiah 30, 21. Yeah, go ahead and read that to us.

Okay, yeah, it says, "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, 'This is the way; walk ye in it,' when ye turn to the right hand and when ye turn to the left hand." So it's like, you know, God is, we're constantly in communion with God, and He's guiding our steps and our way, is kind of how I am, uh, trying to do this. seen that ever. Yeah, you're seeing that exactly correct, Eric.

That's a wonderful passage. Isaiah 30 and verse 21, and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk you in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left. And this goes right along with what Jeff AK6OK was saying about staying in your lane.

And so, as you're proceeding through life, You know, God speaks to you through the Spirit. He speaks to you in your conscience. He speaks to you through the remembrance of the Word of God.

And we have these little nudges, don't we? You know, "Max, don't go there. Max, don't think that thought.

Here, think this thought over here. Here's the attitude you should have." And it's as it were, there's a voice behind us saying, "Go right, go left." Stay in your lane. And so, Eric, thank you for bringing that passage in that really says very specifically what Jeff was saying.

And, of course, we ought to be careful about this voice, right, that we don't confuse the voice of the Word of God with the voice of our own feelings and impressions. You know, a lot of people run around saying, "The Lord spoke to me and said X, Y, or Z." Well, you know, sometimes that's true and that's valid, and other times it's just them substituting their own desires and then blaming God for giving them the thing that they want to do, which is really wrong. so we have to be discerning as to those impulses and impressions we get, and we have to test them by the Word of God and see if, in fact, they're of God or if they're just of the flesh.

Eric, thank you for that. I think Kevin, KB7's Xenicson, might have had a word there at the Kevin, was that you? Go ahead.

Yes, KB7's and wonderful comments and thoughts and reference text there. You know, it really does reveal the heart of God and His desire, though He's the Almighty... and all authority.

He's also wanting a genuine relationship with us and of course by his great sacrifice has made that possible for us to have that. And I think it also speaks to his faithfulness. You know when you read the verse 15 and also reminded me of his faithfulness and his promise to Israel as Paul in Romans 11 is speaking about ethnic Israel in 11 in verses 26 and 27 he points out and in this way all Israel will be saved and as it is written the deliverer will come from Zion he will banish ungodliness from Jacob and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sin.

He is faithful all the way to the end and he is wanting that repentance as we see over and over again. response to that repentance, that we might walk with Him, that we might have redemption and salvation. But He is faithful to His promise from beginning to end.

And what a mighty and wonderful, loving God we serve. KB7 is that example. in verse 21 these things thou hast done and I kept silent you thought that I was altogether said to one as thyself but I will reprove thee and set them in order before thine eyes we have to understand God's not like us and we have to learn about what God is like from his self revelations contained in the scriptures and so these hypocrites thought well this is what I'm like this is what God must be like here's what I think this is what must be what God thinks not the case, not the case at all.

And so we have to recognize God's thoughts are not our thoughts, and his ways are not our ways, and so we have to go to the scriptures to discover what God's thoughts and ways are, and then, as Eric said, listen to that voice and walk according to it. All right, we are done for today. We're going to go to prayer.

Are there any final prayer requests before I leave the prayer? Please come down if you're called, sir. All right, let's go to the Lord in prayer.

Father, we thank you so much for Psalm 50. Thank you for the challenge that it is to us to examine ourselves. and see if we're walking in the narrow way that leads to life, to see if we are, in fact, in the faith or not.

And so, Lord, I pray that you would root out all cold-heartedness from our lives. Pray, Lord, that you would expose hypocrisy so that we would not be comfortable in it or continue with it. Lord, I pray that our beliefs and our actions would line up with each other.

And that those beliefs would be informed and guided by the direct revelation that's in your scripture of yourself and of your will and of your ways. And so, Father, I just pray that we would have humility. As verse 14 says, offer to you thanksgiving.

of our dear friend Jim, N7DKE. Father, you know how weak his lungs are, and he's surrounded with the smoke of forced fires there in Idaho Falls. And Lord, I just pray that he would be able to have pure air so that his lungs would not be irritated or affected by that smoke.

And Lord, I know many others on this net are struggling with smoke in the air. and in 660H and others as well. So, Lord, be pleased to subdue these forest fires.

I pray that you would give the firefighters protection and safety. Lord, we just heard about another one who died running a bulldozer, fighting a fire. Lord, we're grieved to hear that those that are attempting to defend us are literally laying down their lives for us.

And, Lord, I pray that you would have mercy on all of those. Lord, I think of Keith, K7NEB's son, Grant, who is currently fighting fire. Lord, we pray for his safety in particular and that of all the firefighters.

And, Lord, we just pray for the suppression of these wildfires. across the western United States. Lord, we just want to pray also for Jerry, Al KJ7QQH's wife.

Lord, she had a thyroid biopsy the other day, and we just pray that there would be good results from that, and the new action would need to be taken with reference to it. Lord, I just pray that you have mercy on Jerry. Thank you that she's able to see better.

And Lord, we just pray that you would sustain and maintain our health. We pray for Al, Lord, that you would cure the cellulitis that he has in his leg. Father, may that subdue and pass away, and may he know good health.

there in his legs. Father, we just want to pray today for Ed in 660H, his brother-in-law Ed, and his wife needs to sell their house. Father, we think of our brother Steve, W6YSI, who also needs to sell his house and find a suitable place in Tuolumne County.

Pray that you would guide them. Lord, be with our brother Will, KM5F, that his hormone treatment and radiation would be effective in restraining and removing his prostate cancer. Lord, pray that Will's insurance would approve the alternative prescription he needs for his hormone treatment.

Lord, we continue to pray for Carol, KK7TPO's son-in-law Chris, who had back surgery. Lord, I pray for a good recovery. I pray that you would remove the remaining pain.

Lord, I pray that he would have a good outcome, a speedy recovery, regain strength, and be able to help his wife working there on the farm. Lord, we continue to pray for Tom, WW17, that you would... HEAL HIM, FATHER.

LORD, HE'S GOT TREMENDOUS PROBLEMS WITH HIS SPINE AND HIS LEGS AND MOBILITY. LORD, I JUST PRAY THAT YOU WOULD HEAL TOM'S BODY AND PROVIDE HIM WITH AN ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR THAT WILL ALLOW HIM TO FUNCTION IN THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY POSSIBLE WITHIN HIS OWN HOME. LORD, WE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR BECCA, THE HEALING OF HIS DOUBLE VISION AND HIS HEARING.

LORD, WE PRAY FOR HIS NEIGHBOR NANCY, THAT YOU WOULD BRING HER TO SALVATION. Lord, if she's suffering from terminal cancer, cause that event, Lord, to cause her to be turned to Christ. Lord, we just want to pray for my own pastor, Pastor Jeff Black.

Thank you that there's some small incremental improvement. But, Lord, he's got a long way to go. And, Lord, I just pray that you would bring healing to his ulcerative colitis.

Lord, we continue to pray for Cody, K-I-7-T-R-F, his father, Roger. Thank you that there's been some improvement in areas of his health challenges. But Lord, it sounds like he's got terminal cancer.

I pray, Lord, that the chemotherapy would hold that at bay for as long as possible so that Cody can continue to enjoy his dad, Roger. I thank you for Roger's faith in you. And Lord, I pray that if he prepares for the day of his departure, that his fellowship with you would be sweet, that he would rejoice and rest in the promises, that his faith in Christ would be strengthened, and Lord, that his testimony for Christ would be bold.

Lord, we pray for Cody's Uncle Doug, that you would heal him from that severe head injury he got. We pray that the feeding tube would be able to be removed, and that he would be able to move into rehabilitation and recovery. Lord, we continue to pray for our brother Keith, WB7RKR.

Lord, give him wisdom and patience and strength and grace as he deals with his wife, Ronnie, with her Alzheimer's. May Keith just know what the best course of action is. May Ronnie be calm and peaceful.

Lord, may Kendra know your good hand of protection and healing as well. Lord, we just want to pray for Jeff, AK6OK, and his wife, Patty. Help them to be able to sleep well at night.

Lord, I pray for Jeff's grandson, Noah, and his marriage to Marlene. Father, may that marriage be blessed. Father, may they both be saved.

May they both center their home around Christ and his word. Lord, may your word go forth from that Bible study net. May people be edified.

And Father, may they just all grow in grace and in knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a result of their Bible study together. We continue to pray for Caitlin and Levi. that Roger would have opportunities to share the gospel with them and that we could see them get saved.

Father, we thank you for our brother Brian, KJ7PWM, and his son Bailey and his partner Joey. Bless their construction business, Father. May it succeed.

May it grow. May it be a means to provide a living. for both of those families.

Lord, we just continue to pray for Jay, a Brian Case of the VIP's friend, who has finished his radiation, or pardon me, yeah, he's finished his chemotherapy and he has radiation coming. Lord, I just pray that that radiation would be an effective follow-up to the chemo, and Lord, that he would not suffer anymore from that prostate cancer. Lord, we continue to pray for Harvey, WA3 EIB and his wife, Karen.

Lord, meet the needs in that home for salvation and for their health needs. Father, we just want to thank you today for this passage, for our fellowship together. Lord, may these words stick in our hearts and may we be doers of the word and not hearers only.
