His kidney numbers are slowly improving. Well, that's good. He had his first cancer treatment Tuesday.

They said with treatment he has two to three years to live. So he's terminal, it looks like, but they are giving him some more time with treatment. So we need to continue to pray for Cody's dad, K-I-7-T-R-F.

But before we do that, we want to open our Bible study in prayer. And so, Roger, I want WV7DZO, if you could open in prayer for us, we appreciate that. Go ahead, Roger.

Dear Heavenly Father, it's wonderful to be able to ponder and contemplate and invite your Holy Spirit to do that as we look at this psalm about the God, the King of the and the praises that you deserve for your creative power that is infinitely expressed in your creation. And thank you for the privilege of examining these words. And again, I want to thank you for your time.

highlighting the glory of Jacob, whom he loves. Lord, what grace. And thank you for answering this prayer of praise.

In Jesus' name, amen. Amen, Roger. Thank you so much for that prayer.

I really appreciate that a lot. Okay, we are in Psalm 47. Just by way of introduction to this psalm, it appears that the occasion that gave rise to this psalm is the event that's recorded in 2 Kings 18 and 19.

Now in 2 Kings 18 and 19, Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, came to attack Judah and Jerusalem. He blasphemed the God of Israel, he called upon the Jews to surrender, and declared he would remove them from the land. Terabekiah, the king of Judah, prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered his prayer, and that night God sent his death angel to kill 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night.

And of course this decimated Sennacherib's army. and destroyed his ability to fight. Sennacherib was forced to retreat in shame and disgrace, and upon his return to Assyria, his own sons murdered him.

Now, this astounding victory over the Assyrians by God And their humiliating deceit at his hand was a declaration not only to the people of God, but also to all the nations of the earth, that God is almighty and that God is the Lord of the nations. He is the king over all kings. And so such a God who displayed such power is king over the whole world.

And as such, the whole world should praise him and fear him and reverence him. And so what this psalm does is it calls upon both the people of God and the people of the entire world to worship God and give him honor and praise because of this mighty victory he wrought over this Gentile nation. And of course the lesson for us is very clear.

We don't need to fear the actions of politicians or of nations or of false religions or any other political or military force that intends to harm the covenant community of the people of God. Our enemies are known to God. They're under His control.

He can stop them at any point He desires. They do nothing without His permission. and he only permits what is for his glory and our good and what furthers his purposes.

So our enemy is on a leash, and at the end of that leash is held in the hand of God, and he may jerk him back any time he wishes, which is exactly what he did there in 2 Kings 18 and 19 when he jerked Zechariah. a line back to Assyria. So, the enemies of the people of God have never been able to wipe out the people of God, despite their best intentions.

God's going to triumph, His people are going to triumph, and the wicked will all go down to defeat, no matter how powerful they may seem to be. And so here in this psalm, we not only have a hymn of praise for God's present deliverance of His people from Sennacherib, But also we have a hymn of praise for God's ultimate victory in the future over all nations as the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our God and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever. So in many of these psalms, it has a present application and also a future looking forward to what God is going to do.

So we have in the psalm a foreshadowing, of the hymn of praise we're going to sing when Christ comes back the second time and all the nations become subject to him and every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. So that's a little background, a little introduction and setting of the main theme and thrust of Psalm 47. All right, we need for Steve now, W6YSI, to read for Psalm 47.

Steve, if you could do that, please go ahead. Good morning, everyone. We're reading Psalm 47 for the choir director, the Psalm of the Sons of Korah.

Oh, clap your hands, all peoples. Shout to God with a voice of joy. For the Lord Most High is to be feared, a great king over all the earth.

He subdues peoples under us. and nations under our feet. He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob, whom he loves.

Selah. God has ascended with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God.

Sing praises. Sing praises, our King. Sing praises.

For God is the King of all the earth. Sing praises with a skillful form. God reigns over the nation.

God sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God.

He is highly exalted. The end of chapter 47, 76 YSI. All right, Steve, real good.

I'll just get the ball rolling. A wonderful song of praise. And, yeah, whether it's the siege and triumph that you described or Jehoshaphat or, you know, the people of Haman or whatever the case, this is a powerful, beautiful song of praise.

And, you know, the emphasis here, too, is in the pull of depth and a range of praise, you know, from the spirit, from the mind, with instruments, with voice. Four times in one verse we see here, Amen. you know, to sing praise and glory in the God, the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

And it's just such a wonderful, full psalm. And, you know, as they were talking about the sins of the king, too, But yeah, the spirit, the joy, the assurance in this psalm, but just the depth of the calling. I don't think in Hebrew there could be a stronger emphasis on the calling to seeing praises.

with whether it's symbols or instruments and voice to our Lord and Savior and our King of Kings, KB7ZXM. Thanks for that wonderful encouragement to us. Calvin was referring there in particular to verse 6.

And I'm not making any comments about the amount of time that should be allocated to singing and to preaching. I think that they should receive pretty much equal time. In our services, at our churches, we give singing about 30 minutes and we give preaching about 30 minutes.

or thereabouts. Of course, there's some scripture reading that goes on there as well, and also some prayer that goes on, some exhortations. But yes, Kevin, thank you for pointing out the centrality, the importance, and the prominence Roger, really well said.

Thank you so much for bringing out those two passages. And, you know, as you well pointed out, our earthly inheritance is moth and rust can corrupt them and thieves can break through and steal and forest fires can come and burn stuff to the ground. And yet that inheritance that God has laid up for us in heaven can never be corrupted, it can never be defiled, it can never have mice come in and wreck it all, as you have experienced, and I have too at times.

And so what a wonderful thought, Roger, that you brought out, and what a wonderful future we have to look forward to. And you know the good news is that God has made a choice, if you can embrace the metaphor, to put us in His will and to give us not only His Son but everything His Son possesses so Everything Jesus has, we have, and that is our inherent. So even though we may not have much in this life, when God's will is executed and the executor reads out what it is that he has laid out for us, we are going to be absolutely astounded.

at the treasures in heaven that he's laid up for us. All right, Roger, great comment. Thank you for that.

- KV7, KTY, go ahead. Well, it seems like this is their response to God delivering them from the Nacarib army. And I'm just reminded as I read it that God has delivered us and taken care of us so many times.

and we can kindly choose to think about this and praise in fact God, thanking Him for the many deliverances and kindnesses that He has given to all. Amen. See, what a wonderful thought that is, is that God protects His people.

You know, Israel didn't have anything to do with that deliverance from Sennacherib. All he did was pray, which is not a small thing, right? We pray about things we have no control over.

And God can deliver us from those things when it's his time, and he will do so in his way. And so, yeah, when you look back at all the times God preserved you, you look back at all the times God provided for you, you know, it's a cause of overwhelming thankfulness. You know, one of the things I've noticed about this psalm is the exuberance of the praise.

You know, verse 1, clap your hands. Shout to God with a voice of triumph. There's nothing quiet about this.

There's nothing subdued about this. You know, when you look at how enthusiastic people get at a football game or a basketball game, you know, they're shouting and waving their arms and clapping and carrying on. You know, we need to be excited about God.

And while, you know, our expressions of praise are going to vary from church to church, nevertheless, there should be an intensity. in our feelings and in our voices and in our focus so that God receives the full-throated, wholehearted, enthusiastic, single-minded praise for the deliverances he has wrought for us. Please come down. Most of the Old Testament/New Testament is what we're seeing today. But the, um, um, the, um, the Revelation--I believe it's 13 and 17 where it's discussed with the five nations-- have fallen and one is, one was, one is, and one is about to come.

Yeah, and I'm meaning this, I mean applying that concept to what I'm meaning, as to what we see in the Old Testament and the New Testament. The concept of the Old Testament, or the New Testament, is based on the Old Testament. And almost everything that's in there begins to show that it's coming to the stage that we're seeing now in Revelation.

Yeah, I copy that. You're right. You know, the things that are foreshadowed in the Old Testament are fulfilled in the book of Revelation.

And you know what's interesting is that there are are over 400 allusions to the Old Testament in the book of Revelation. The book of Revelation is saturated with Old Testament references. In fact, there's more references to the Old Testament in the book of Revelation than there are in the entire rest of the New Testament put together.

And so the key to understanding Revelation is to understand it in light of those Old Testament references and what they have to say regarding what the Revelation is talking about. So yeah, you know, I actually have written a commentary on the book of Revelation. I'd be glad to send you one for free if you would like.

And I spend a lot of time doing exactly that, looking at what the Old Testament has to say and in helping us interpret the book of Revelation. So thanks for the comment. Appreciate you checking in.

Roger, please go ahead. I'm looking at verse 9, and I'm looking at that second phrase, for the shields of the earth. Yeah, Roger, that's a very interesting phrase in verse 9.

And I think that the word shields here is just simply a symbol for the fact that he owns and controls and directs every instrument of war. It says here in verse 9, "The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham." Why? Because the shields of the earth belong to God.

And so the princes bow to God and worship God and consult with God. for blessing and protection and victory because he's the one who actually determines the outcomes that the instruments of war produce. So I think that shields are used by way of metonymy for all the instruments of war.

The princes of the people are gathered together recognizing that God controls the outcome of the war. And therefore, if there is a victory like there was with Sennacherib, God's going to be greatly exalted because, you know, He put a shield of protection between Jerusalem and Sennacherib's army, and He shielded them from those 185,000 Assyrians and protected them. So you're right, the Bible talks about the shield of faith by which we quench the fiery darks of the wicked one in Ephesians chapter six.

And so there's a number of ways this term shield could be understood. It could be understood of God's protection. which certainly is appropriate.

It can also be understood by way of metonymy for God's control over all of the instruments of war and all of the outcomes of war. Back to you there, Roger. Yeah, thank you.

Thank you, Max. Yeah, I'm aware of some of those, the shields. even shields of gold were...

There is a special feeling about or aura about shields in the Older Testament. And it was so significant. And so, in fact, isn't that right, Max?

At one time they had a large amount of shields of gold, over... That's exactly correct. Solomon, of course, was a very wealthy king.

He had endless amounts of gold that he had obtained through trade and the wisdom of business. And he took all this gold and he had them pounded into shields, and then he hung all these shields. inside the temple.

And of course when the king of Egypt came and conquered Jerusalem, he took all those shields of gold with him and that's why there's so much gold down in Egypt and all the Pharaoh's tombs and all of that. Well, you're right Roger, those were not used in warfare, they were too heavy for that. That's exactly correct.

And it was also used as a way to bring glory to God. I mean, imagine being inside the tabernacle there, the temple, and all the walls were covered with gold and the doors were covered with gold. And it must have just been an awesome experience when you have candlelight from the candelabra inside the holy place.

I didn't wake up early enough with all the activity yesterday to get my wake-up bath. And so this is quite a wake-up experience too to imagine that. Thank you, Max.

Well, I was going to take a look at the verse 9 as well but in a little different context here because I think what we see here too is the gathering the king of kings the king of kings here the one the recipient of the praises the broth of victory is the same king that resides today and is sovereign over all nations and all the earth, despite what it might look like to us here, that some of these nation leaders can... operate with impunity they are subject to to the sovereignty of our Lord but here we see the picture really I think fulfilled in the New Testament and of all nations of the promise of those that are brought in under the covenant of Abraham and, you know, princes of all people and all people of the earth here are included in this, as we would read about in Galatians 3.29, but also Revelation 7.9, where we see multitudes from all nations and all peoples.

praising God in the throne and praising our Lord. So it really does give us a picture that it's not only the king over Israel and not only Israel giving praise, but all peoples of all nations that really kind of the promise of the, like I say, of the Gentile promise that is fulfilled as we see. KB 7 is that example.

Yeah, Kevin, well said, and you're exactly right. This psalm encompasses not just the Jews but also the Gentiles, in fact, twice. Notice it says in verse 2, "The Lord is most of times terrible." Here it is, "He is a great king over all the earth." And then notice if you go over to verse 7, "For God is the king of all the earth." So there's an emphasis here that God isn't just the God of the Jews, He's the God of the Gentiles as well.

And of course we know under the New Covenant that Jew and Gentile are brought together into one body in Christ. And the head of that church is the Lord Jesus. And so now there's neither Jew nor Gentile, but the Christ is head over all.

And what blessings this psalm foreshadows. when the day comes that the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever. So it's looking forward certainly to the blessings of the new covenant, also to the blessings of the eternal state, where there will never be a kingdom or a people in the rebellion against God ever again.

So here we've got a mighty deliverance. for Israel in earth-like history from Sennacherib. Here we have a wonderful declaration of the fact that Jesus is going to come and establish a worldwide kingdom.

And then of course that ultimate kingdom that will be fully established in the new heavens and the new earth after all of Christ's redemptive work is accomplished and completed. And that will be the fuller sense in which we see that he is king over all the earth. So what that means is that we don't need to fear these lesser kings who say that they are going to run and rule and have their worldwide empires.

And, of course, that extends especially to Antichrist in the end when he shows up. He's going to be taken down into defeat as well after he's done his worst. at doing his best in overthrowing God's people and God's kingdom, he too is going to be defeated.

So what we've got here is a phenomenal declaration of victory and assurance that he is king of kings, the Lord of lords. and people will make war with him, but he is going to overcome them. Kevin, thanks for that note of hope and encouragement and looking forward to the future and the fact that for us, things are just going to get better as Christ continues to extend his kingdom and ultimately manifest his personal presence here on the earth.

All right, other comments, please come down. Alright, while you're thinking, I want to make a comment on Let's see, I lost my place now. Huh, what happened here?

I saw this a second ago. I'll spot it here. There it is, verse eight, yeah.

God reigns over the heathen. God sits upon the throne of his holiness. Now, unfortunately, we are under the rule of kings and legislators who are anything but holy.

And that's one of the reasons why and joy and prosperity and blessing. Let me tell you about this political kingdom. And we can start telling them about the rule and reign of Jesus Christ.

And, of course, the reason why it works politically is because it works spiritually. So I've used people complaining about the kingdoms of this world as a segue into talking about our whole being of worship complete all of ourselves Paul expresses it in first Corinthians 14:15 and but but our worship of God needs to be continues to be king of kings. He was then, he was from eternity past, but he continues to reign.

And we can certainly trust in that. KB7 is at example. - Thank you, Kevin, well said.

We should be filled with exuberance and joy because we have the perfect king. We have the perfect kingdom. And it's only going to get better as sin is eradicated from our experience and from the remaining sins in our natures.

You know, I was... Reflecting on this Psalm, and I ran across Psalm 33 and verse 10, which we looked at not too long ago. Psalm 33:10-12, it says, "The Lord brings the counsel of the heathen to naught.

He makes the devices of the people of none effect." Psalm 33:11, "The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations." Now here it is, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. So interesting, Roger was talking about the fact that God has given us an inheritance. We are God's inheritance.

And so there's a reciprocation there that's quite amazing to contemplate. But the idea here is that, number one, God's going to bring the counsel of the heathen to nothing, now wants to turn around. So pray this is fair.

Also for our sister Carol, KK 17, Neal. For the Healy, her lower back pain. And her son-in-law, Chris, recently had back surgery and is still at pain.

We pray for a good outcome and see you recovering from her pain. For Tom, WW17, Tom's recovering from a major spine injury and we pray for his physical therapy to provide relief from that pain and increase his mobility. We pray that his needs for an electric wheelchair will be back.

For our brother back in Alpha Alpha 580, we pray for continued healing and the resolution of his condition. Double vision. Pray for full respiration.

WV7MX standing by listening. Okay, please state that relay again, go ahead. Yeah, Katie said, "Cutie, I'll give you a drill." I've been doing a lot of research on the chances of a near-expiry and the, let's see, the one day, say it's not used the, what was it, ivermectin?

I'm not sure what that's called. There's several, there's three or four different versions. And the reason they didn't want to use it was they said it was only going to get through so much.

But they're finally going to use it. And......from the HHS is also, I'm well aware of, he's trying to get it through What they found was The reason, there was a reason why it was working so well then, they didn't want to use it on cancer was because of the ability it had to destroy the cancer and use non-desired And when I get through it, I'll send it out. But what it amounts to is they have done research and they did, what would they call it, not of Greece at Wyatt-Fesworth, and they found that the chances that they were doing the juice stocks for a chance, they did 85%, which I suppose they almost fully feared.

I think another 15% or 10% was remission, and 5% of that, I believe it was 10%, had no change. And I started looking into that way back when it all started with the so-called COVID-19. And as I've been looking into it, they can see that there's a world-renowned scientist and doctor that have also been using it.

And they have quite a bit of information on that. So with the people that do have cancer, unfortunately the cancer industry doesn't want to use them as a main burden. as a mania i said put this same drug because it was originally set up for uh animals and they found out they could use a drug just about anything um it's becoming a very known factor looking it up you see quite a bit of information and there's there's i think three views on there there's it works it doesn't work and then there's the group that does I thought I put that out and I don't know if anybody looked into this or seen it or anything else.

So if anybody's got any comments on that, it would be great to hear it. Thank you for all that insight about the ivermectin. I'm on the same page you are about that.

I think it pays to not just listen to the mainstream media and what they have to say about managing our health. I think we need to do our own research and I think there's an abundance of information out there. Sadly, medicine sometimes is not driven by science, it's driven by profit or it's driven by a political agenda.

I think we really saw that during COVID-19. And yeah, had hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin been prescribed early in COVID, we would have avoided, I think, about 85% of the deaths that occurred. But that wasn't making anybody any money because those drugs are both off patent.

And so as a result, they pushed other treatments that they could charge for. So thanks for bringing out that information.
