whole psalm as you will recognize throughout but even in the introduction I think you know when he's pulled out of the he uses the description of the of the pit the miry clay you know oftentimes that was kind of how they'd imprison someone would throw them in an old cistern or something that maybe, you know, miry, muddy clay in the bottom. And the harder you struggle to get out, you know, the more caught up you got into it. And any of us have been off-road in wet areas and, you know, getting caught up in some muddy clay in your truck or even walking around especially, it's just a mess and something you want to avoid.

Even Jeremiah was... Kept imprisoned. Sometimes they imprison people that way, throw them in a pit like that.

But by no doing of his own, God lifted him up out of that mire of clay. And not only lifted him up out of that pit, but set him on solid rock. but we see that it is Jesus that also, I think, gives us the picture of the resurrection.

Jesus overcame in the resurrection and was brought out of the pit, and to him be the glory, but he also will bring us out of that pit too. Anyway, just some thoughts on the first couple of verses there. It could be something that extends.

Yeah, Kevin, thank you for those thoughts. Very stimulating. Yeah, you made me laugh out loud when you said it would be easy to be patient if it didn't take so long.

That struck a funny bone with me. In any event, so true. Yeah, I waited patiently for the Lord, verse 1, and he inclined to me.

And you know, a lot of times there's a big time gap between us praying for deliverance and receiving it. And so in the meantime, we've got to wait on the Lord, and He'll renew our strength in the pit until He's pleased to pull us out of the pit. So thank you also for pointing out the Messianic aspect here.

And as you said... We're going to see as we go along that there's a very clear reference to Jesus here in this passage. But what greater pit are we ever cast into than the grave?

And what greater deliverance do we ever have out of that pit but the resurrection? And so... You know, we have Joseph being cast into a pit by his brothers, and then they yarded him out of there and sold him into Egypt.

Jeremiah in chapter 38 and verse 6 was thrown into a pit and sunk up to his armpits in there and took like 30 guys to pull him up out of that pit. So yeah, what an interesting metaphor of how deep we can sink into our problems, our troubles, and yet how God in his infinite power is able to pull us out in due time and deliver us from those circumstances. So great comments there, Kevin.

Mark, KJ7, PBT, go ahead. ... Yeah, thanks for that comment, Mark.

Yep. It certainly is a Messianic Psalm and appreciate you pointing out that fact. And what we see here is that verse 6 is quoted in Hebrews chapter 10.

So Hebrews 10, 5 to 7 says, is a quotation of verse 6, 7, and 8. And so what that tells us is that David, of course, in many respects foreshadowed the Lord Jesus, and that's, of course, what Kevin was pointing out when he talked about Jesus being brought up out of the horrible pit of the grave and the resurrection. So we can certainly say of our Lord Jesus, that he was the one who was offered as a sacrifice for us in order to deliver us from our sins.

Verse 9, I preach righteousness in the great congregation. I have not refrained my lips. O Lord, you know.

And that is certainly true of our Lord Jesus. He was a preacher of righteousness. He preached God's righteousness.

And he did it before the whole nation of Israel, indeed before the whole world in the inspired scriptures. And thank God that he didn't fail to convey all that God's message contained. to us in the Gospels, and of course, by way of extension, through the inspired writing of the Apostles.

KJ7 PVT, go ahead, Mark. I'd like to point something out that I just want to share, so maybe this might be interesting to you. I Well, it's not a long time.

I won't continue doing that, but there's a couple of things that people use to contradict me. That's an increase. Perhaps the one thing that's interesting, you know, you can say, "Now wait here, this is misinterpreted." But I will hear.

There's an error in the Bible, that's what you'll hear, and that's what I'm going to be on guard. But, uh, that's the way it is today. I'm just pause here for a second, make sure that I can hear you.

I can hear you just fine Mark, go ahead. As I tell you, some points of gravity are not there. I hope that some of these people, or bodies, have prepared for these stories.

People will say, "No way in hell. "We have to keep on floating out." I hope that we can keep on floating out. ...

Yeah, Mark, thanks for that explanation from Exodus 21 and verse 6 about a different understanding of the opening of the year here. That refers to the opening of the year with an all. to make someone forever a servant to his master.

Yeah, you know, here's the deal is that when you look at the way the New Testament quotes the Old Testament, you know, the New Testament writers seem to take a lot of liberty with their quotations. They don't seem to be exact quotations. There's a couple of reasons for that.

One is that they understand the spiritual meaning of the Old Testament passage, and they're giving that. And the other is, as you well said, the Holy Spirit, who inspired His Word, is free to add to it when He provides additional revelation. And so there isn't a contradiction.

There's just a modification because there's new information, new inspiration, and new understanding of Old Testament passages. I mean, from time to time, as we're reading here in the Psalms, if all we had was the book of Psalms, we would never guess that this passage or that passage was about Jesus. But because of the way it's quoted in the New Testament, we see, oh, that is about Jesus.

So as Revelation develops and unfolds, Revelation provides new information. It provides knowledge. additional concepts and sometimes phrases added or modified in order to bring out the meaning that was in that passage but wasn't clear from that passage itself.

So yeah, there's no contradictions here. There's just additional revelation or there's a spiritual understanding that was always there but not clear from the passage itself. So Mark, thank you for bringing out that concept.

All right, any other concepts? Please come down. Follow up, go ahead Mark.

... We've got Isaiah 50 and verse 5 also added to that, which gives further illumination and understanding. Yeah, you know, the Scripture is very pregnant with meaning.

And while we don't want to assign meanings to it that aren't there, the New Testament does authorize us and additional passages of Scripture authorizes us. to fill out what is there because we have other inspired writings that provide additional information. So, Mark, thank you for bringing out the fact that the Bible is a self-interpreting book and that if we're uncertain about what one passage means, we can search the rest of the scriptures about that subject.

and we will find additional insight and understanding with reference to it that will help us understand it better. So, you know, when something is obscure or uncertain, it can be made clear by searching it out in other places in the Scriptures that speak to the same issue. All right, other comments, please come down.

While you're thinking, let me comment here on verse 4. Verse 4 says, "...Blessed is the man that makes the Lord his trust, and respects not the proud, nor set his turn aside to lies." And so, you know, there's two possible frames of reference within which we can operate. We can operate within the frame of reference of the Lord.

What does the Lord think about my situation? Or what do proud people think about my situation? And you know, it says in Proverbs 29, 25, the fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in the Lord shall be saved.

And so Psalm 1, 1, blessed is the man who walks not in account for the ungodly, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and his law that he meditate day and night. So we have this constant contrast set up before us. Am I looking to the Lord and his approval and his assessment, or am I looking to people and their approval and their assessments?

and David had himself oriented properly here and that is he was making the Lord his trust and he did not have any respect for what the ungodly thought about him nor was he living in fear of their assessment of him alright other comments on the passage please come now Roger, please go ahead. Yeah, the first that you pointed out, there's a fascinating broadness here between how the NIV that I had before me at this time. And that last phrase of verse 4, "To those who turn aside to fault God," and under "a" it says, "or to fault good." So yeah, if we're -- I guess there's a cross over there spiritually too, over.

I'm sorry, head injury. I'm sorry, it's a severe head injury. We pray for the good for the treatment and recovery.

Cody's needs no, really, she needs salvation. Peace, could we be seven or a few? I pray for peace.

We need to praise the Lord for that, pulling Sean out of that horrible pit and setting his feet on a solid rock. Isn't that true? And in a spiritual sense, I wanted to thank the prayer team on Fridays.

I'm very sensitive to the prayers every Friday for autumn. And she came back to us after experiencing at least two months of being away. And she was, she had lost, oh, most of her belongings.

And she, her appeal was, I've had a change of attitude. I made a note of that. So thank you for your prayers.

And I asked my wife, I said, you know, what Adam said on the phone call before I handed the phone to Adam, to Dailene for her appeal to come back. She didn't leave out of du rave, but we told her that Dailene was not capable of having her with us at that point. So anyway, she said, "I have a change of attitude." I asked Dailene just the other day, "Do you whether that has happened, you know, from her perspective.

And, yeah, Daylene mentioned she's noticed a difference. So the Holy Spirit is working on that autistic brain and been subjected to a lot of stuff. So thank you, Max, for the prayer team, too.

All right, real good, Roger. Thank you for that good report on Autumn and her improved attitude. We'll continue to pray for her and for her salvation and for her mental clarity and for her to...

Just be transformed by the grace of Christ into a sweet, godly, humble Christian who would be someone that would be a blessing instead of a burden in people's lives. There's nothing like going out in the world and getting beat up, which it sounds like that's what happened to her with losing all of her belongings. you know, to make one appreciate a place where it's stable, a place where it's safe, and a place where you're loved.

The world is a harsh, cruel place, and we as Christians provide a harbor of refuge, and, you know, when people see that, it's a huge testimony that causes reflection and sometimes conversion. Right. Roger will continue to pray for Autumn.

Thank you for that good report and also for Daylene's continued healing. And I know that she's on the hormone medication and that makes it tough as well. So Roger, thanks for the good report.

I think it's completed at the end of October, somewhere in October. So that's our prayer, that she'll be able to get a job. and find a place to, because she is very creative at times, amazing.

But right now, the cell phone is her buddy, you know, and she's a believer, you know, I'll tell you, she spends hours and hours on the smartphone, like many of her generation do. WB7, visit L. Back to WB7MAX.

Yeah, Roger, copy that. Well, that cell phone can be a terrible time trap, and it can be corrupting. I mean, there's good things on there.

You know, you can listen to Bible reading on your cell phone. You can listen to sermons, or you can just endlessly waste time and life in social media. So hopefully if she's going to spend that time on it, she's redeeming that time instead of allowing that to be a corrupting influence on her.

And you know, she probably needs some good counsel regarding that matter as to where she should go and where she shouldn't. And then the other thing is just put the thing down and get some exercise, go for a walk, read a book, do some work. Cell phones are a real source of temptation to people.

And sometimes I have a good friend who just won't own one. And he says, you know, it's a trap and I just can't handle it, so I'm just not going to do it. So he's got a dumb phone.

He can make phone calls and whatnot, but it doesn't have that access to the Internet. Sure understand that. All right, we'll continue to pray for Autumn.

Roger, thank you so much for that report. And may God continue to work grace in her heart, give her stability so she can have a job, a place to live, and an independent existence. With that cooking ability, you know, maybe a job in a restaurant or a cake decorating shop, something like that.

I'm sure she would be amazing in a situation where she had proper supervision and some good creative direction to go in. WB7VZO, WB7MF. Yeah, well you mentioned your friend.

I've been there and I still only use a dumb phone. I feel so blessed to be free from that corrupting experience. And it just really has been a blessing to be independent of it, Horne.

Yeah, I copy that. Well, good decision, Roger, for you. My friend made the same decision.

Many others probably need to make that decision as well. And so, you know, some people are susceptible to different temptations than others are. We're not all the same.

For some people, no problem at all. For other people, huge problem. So we have to judge ourselves and make decisions for ourselves that are the best for our spiritual walk.

Yeah. am i in on frequency max on this uh on this other radio uh we've had some problems with it over yes you were on frequency you sound good roger not quite as strong but sounds good go ahead yeah this is a lighter amplifier i made this We didn't have that all the time, but it was quite frequent that when things got a little tight, we knew it was going to be the half and half, half powdered milk and half regular milk. But it did stretch things out, and you know, we never went hungry.

Nevertheless, I remember my grandmother used to come over and she was always worried about -- she'd check on me and living on my own and she'd come over from time to time and she was always worried about if I had toilet paper. And one time I asked my mom, I said, why is Grandma so concerned whether I have toilet paper or not, you know? And she says, well, remember, Kevin, she grew up in the Depression, and a lot of the things that were basics, you know, that we don't think about now, We're just not available readily during her childhood and during that period of time of her life.

And just all of a sudden the light came on and I realized, you know, she's exactly right. How many things do we take for granted?
