Chris is having his back surgery at 8.30 this morning, Alaska time. So we got him on the prayer list here, and we will be praying for him. Let me just write that time down.

I hope everybody's having a beautiful morning so far. The band seems to be really in good condition today. I'm hearing everybody pretty well.

my noise level and i had to really listen to hear them so i heard uh will sooner at am5s coming in pretty good uh five five eight five nine as well so fancy to be doing pretty good and uh i don't have any fair requests today so anyway just gotta let everybody out there know that the band seems to be on my end working really well today so back to you uh 87 es All right, real good. Yeah, the band is beautiful. I wish we could have this kind of band every day.

What a blessing that would be. Well, it's going to get really awful in the winter, but we work with what we've got and we use all of our various tools to get it done. Let me look over my SDRs here for a second and see if I can pick anybody up that hasn't been picked up.

We are in Psalm 39 today, as I said. But before we get started, we want to open in prayer. And so, Jerry, KG6J, if you could open in prayer for us today, I sure appreciate that.

Go ahead. Thank you, Pastor Max. KG6J.

Let's close our eyes and bow our heads. Fathers, our God in heaven. We thank you for this new day and we thank you for the blessings that you've sent to each one of us.

With the mercy and grace we need in this new day. And we thank you for your word which you've provided. for our way to understand and have those things that you want planted into our hearts.

So today as we turn to your word, I ask that you send your Holy Spirit to be upon Pastor Max and the contributors today that it would develop those things that you want to plant into each of our hearts and lives. and that we would have prepared hearts to receive those gifts and preciousness that you have for us today. So we ask these things in your Holy Son Jesus' name.

Amen. you pastor back jp jerry thank you so much for that prayer much appreciated all right so wb7mx here we are in psalm 39 and um you know it's kind of an interesting psalm um you know it'd be really nice uh if the christian life or just want a perpetual peace and joy and contentment and satisfaction. It'd be really nice if all we knew were fulfillment and success and victory.

And of course, there's every reason why this should be the case. God has certainly provided the basis for it. And yet we often find ourselves in real turmoil and frustration as we reflect on our lives.

You know, we look at our own lives, and we see the shortness of life. We see the frailty of life. We see much of the vanity of life.

We blossom in health and strength and beauty for a few years, but very soon aging and illness and pain sets in. Our eyes grow dim, our hands shake, our skin wrinkles, our strength disappears, and all too soon we go to the grave. and all our beauty and strength is consumed into ashes.

And life seems to be a sound and a fury and ends in a whimper and a sob. And then what we do accomplish and achieve here while we have life and health doesn't seem to last much in the long run. We spend our lives working our fingers to the bone to accumulate some wealth and some security, But all our work ultimately seems to come to little or nothing as our wealth dissipates, the next generation fritters it away as though it meant nothing.

And it seems that moth and rust is corrupt and thieves break through and steal. and the next generation squanders away in foolish self-indulgence, all the achievements and assets that took us a lifetime to accumulate. And then while we're here, we're frustrated most of all by our own sins.

Our own sins bring us into reproach with others, and cause us to be profoundly disappointed with ourselves. And so we have this sense of failure and shame that we're not better people than we are. And we're often spiritually crushed and depressed by our own inconsistencies and failings and sense of guilt.

Well, that's the condition David was in. He was full of discouragement in this song. He's discouraged about his life, the fact that he's getting older, and he's losing his health and his strength.

He's discouraged about his wealth. that he's worked hard to accumulate it, but it's all going to just be dissipated and disappear. And then he's worried about his sins.

He looks back over his life. He wishes he had been a better man. But here he is looking back saying, you know, there's been lots of failures here.

And so he's frustrated about his life. He's frustrated about his wealth. and he's frustrated about his sins.

And yet he dare not complain out loud about any of this before the wicked, lest they seize upon his complaint as an opportunity to mock God. So while the wicked are around, he keeps his mouth shut. about his discouragement and his frustration with his health, his wealth, and his sins.

And he doesn't let anybody know what he's going through. But the problem is that he can't keep this bottled up forever. Right.

He has to talk to somebody about it. Who's he going to talk to about it? Well, he's going to talk to God about it.

And so in this Psalm, he doesn't say anything about his discouragement to the wicked. He's concerned about his testimony to them. He's concerned about giving them ammunition with which to attack Christianity and to attack him.

And so what he does is he goes to the Lord, and he pours out all of his discouragement and all of his pain before the Lord. And he cries out to the Lord for mercy and for recovery and for strength. So in this psalm, David is in a real pit of discouragement.

But he went to the right place to complain, which is God. And he avoided the wrong place to complain, which is the ungodly. And so the wicked couldn't help, but God could help.

and would have respect to David. And so that's where David went, and that's how David got help to pull him up out of this pit of despair and to put a new psalm in his mouth. So that's a little background and perspective on this psalm, what David's feeling and why he says some of the things he does in this psalm.

So, Roger, WB7VZL, if he could read for us Psalm 39, I'd sure appreciate that. Go ahead, Roger. This is WB7VZL reading from the NASB.

I said I will guard my ways that I may not sin with my tongue. I will guard my mouth as with a muzzle while the wicked are in my presence. I was dumb and silent.

I refrained even from good, and my sorrow grew worse. My heart was hot within me while I was musing the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue.

Lord, make me to know my end. And what is the extent of my days? Let me know how transient I am.

Behold, thou hast made my days as hand-breaths, and my lifetime as nothing in thy sight. Surely every man at his best is a mere breath. Surely every man walks about as a phantom.

Surely they make an uproar for nothing. He amasses riches and does not know who will gather them. And now, Lord, for what do I wait?

My hope is in Thee. Deliver me from all my transgressions; make me not the reproach of the foolish. I am become dumb.

I do not open my mouth, because it is thou who hast done it. Because it is thou who hast done it, remove thy plague from me; because of the opposition of thy hand I am perishing. With reproof thou dost chasten a man for iniquity; thou dost consume as a moth what is precious to him.

Surely every man is a mere breath. Hear my prayer, O Lord. And give ear to my cry.

Do not be silent at my tears, for I am a stranger with thee, a sojourner like all my fathers. Turn thy gaze away from me, that I may smile again. before I depart and am no more.

N6 TNI. Go ahead. Yeah, you know, speaking of that, one of the things my dad told me at a very young age was putting your mind in gear before putting your mouth in motion.

And I think that's a good way to look at things. So if you can put your mind in gear before putting your mouth in motion, you'll save yourself a lot of trouble. Okay, I got Kevin, KB7 ZXN.

Go ahead there, Kevin. Yeah, very good comments, and I appreciate Roger bringing up Ecclesiastes. It falls into the same category as that and really of Joe.

You know, clearly here, David has been suffering on many levels, clearly a serious physical ailment. But internally, and the way he's even described as an internal fire burning, and finally he has to release it out. all of the inconsistencies that we ourselves have.

You know, if we just looked horizontally at what life is, we would just say vanity of vanity, all is vanity. But when we look at God and His plan and His purposes, we're filled with hope and joy and peace and believing and confidence and optimism regarding the future and assurance and peace in the present. Lord, that he would have the strength and the ability to do the farm work that needs to be done there.

And Lord, you would just give him a new lease on life pain-free as a result of this back surgery. Father, we continue to pray for our brother Tom, WW7T. for his peace and comfort and health Lord I just pray that he would have freedom from any stores pray that he'd have freedom from any leg cramps Lord we thank you that Jimmy and Angela are there to help and Lord we just pray that should provide Tom with the electric wheelchair that he needs to be able to be mobile in his own home and care for himself Lord, I just pray that you would bring health and peace and resources into Tom's life that he needs to cope with the declining health situation that he is experiencing.

Lord, we pray for Beck, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee. Pray for the continued healing and resolution of his double vision. Pray for full restoration of his hearing and his right ear.

And Lord, I just pray for his neighbor Nancy, Lord, that she would find salvation and that, Lord, you would have mercy on her physical ailment of apparently terminal cancer. Father, continue to pray for my pastor, Pastor Jeff Black. and his severe ulcerative colitis.

Pray for his healing through the medical treatment that he is receiving. Father, just pray that his immune system would stop attacking his large intestine and that, Lord, he would be able to have healing. Father, we continue to pray for Cody, TI7TRF.

Looks like he's going to lose his dad, Roger. Father, he's got heart failure, renal failure, stage 4 colon cancer. Father, thank you that Roger's a believer in Christ.

And thank you, Father, that he's going to go and be with you and that he and Cody will be together again in the long term. Lord, I pray for the healing of Cody's Uncle Doug. that he would be able to get off the feeding tube and that he would be able to move into rehab and that he would be able to recover from the severe head injury that he had.

Lord, may the rehab go well there. Lord, we pray for our dear brother Keith, WB7RKR, that it should heal his concussion that he had when he fell. Lord, I pray that he would have wisdom and patience in managing his wife Lonnie's dementia and living situation.

Lord, it would be Your will to provide her with a place where she can receive 24-hour memory care. Lord, it's too much for Keith to take care of her, and so I pray that You would just open a door and meet that need. Father, we just want to pray also today for the suppression of all these wildfires.

Many of the people on this net are threatened with wildfires. And, Lord, I just ask that you would be pleased to save human lives, save structures. And, Lord, I just pray that all of these firefighters would have protection and safety, Father.

We've already lost four this year, and I pray that we would not lose any more. Father, we continue to pray for Steve, W6YSI, that you would give he and his wife, Leslie, wisdom as to whether they should move to Tuolumne County and for a home for them to buy there. So, Lord, lots of decisions to be made there.

Give them wisdom. as to where they should go and if they should go. And if they go, provide them with a lovely place for them to live that will serve their needs well.

Father, we continue to pray for Scott, KD7YQT. Pray for his wife, Pam, who has severe lupus. We pray that that lupus would go into remission and that she would recover her health.

Lord, she struggled with this for many decades. Lord, we just pray that she would have mercy on her. Lord, we pray that you'll prosecute him and pin him up so that he can join the net here in the near future.

Father, we continue to pray for our brother Jim M7BKE and his witness today at the Morningside... assisted living center there. Pray that you would just have grace and wisdom in sharing the gospel.

And Lord, I pray that you would open hearts to saving faith in Jesus. Lord, we want to pray for the next generation. Our children, our grandchildren, our great-grandchildren.

Father, how they need salvation, bring the gospel to them. Pour grace in their hearts, protect them from the ways of the world and the attacks of Satan, and bring them into the kingdom, Father, we pray. As they get old enough to repent of their sins and believe in Jesus, Father, may that transition happen.

May they all be born again. that Father may be saved through faith in Jesus. Father, we continue to pray for Brian at KJ7 PWM in the salvation of his secretary, Mariah.

Lord, we pray for Avery and Zoe, that they would get buried and get saved as well. And we think of little Alex and Adam. Father, I pray that you would save them in due time also.

Father, Brian is surrounded by this mission field. And Lord, I just ask that you would give him words and wisdom, open hearts and opportunities. to speak a word in season to Mariah and Avery and Zoe and Alex and ultimately Adam.

Thank you, Father, that Zoe's been reading the Bible. I pray that you would use the scriptures to bring into her life faith and the new birth. Father, we continue to pray for Ed in 6XOH, his nephew Eric, who's in the military and deployed to Israel.

We pray for his safety. Pray for skill and wisdom in the warfighting. that you called him to do.

Lord, we pray for our brother Jeff, AK6OK, and his ministry of operation worship, and the spreading of Bibles, and the installation of chapels and Navy ships. Lord, we also pray for this larger need for three new chapels to be built on Camp Pendleton. Pray that you would raise up people, and finances, and an organization, Father, that could not only fund but also supply those who administer in those chapels to the soldiers.

Father, we pray that you would meet their spiritual needs. Lord, we just want to thank you today. for your goodness and your mercy and your grace to each one of us.

Thank you especially for the gift of your son, Jesus Christ, and the saving work that he has wrought in our lives. Father, we pray that your blessing would be upon each of us as we go about our responsibilities today. I pray that you'd be with our family friend Faye Barrett, KK7USR, that as she flies back to China and then on to South Africa, that you would give her safety in her journeys.

and deliver her safely to her parents. Father, we ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
