I really appreciate that a lot. All right. We are in Psalm 26.

And before Jerry reads that for us, I want to just give a little introduction to it. You'll notice in verse 1 that David says, Judge me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity. So every Christian knows there's going to be a day of judgment.

And every Christian knows he's going to stand as an individual before the Lord, and he's going to be judged according to his works in order to determine whether or not he's one of God's children. Every Christian has read passages like Matthew 25, the sheep and the goats, They read passages like Revelation 20, the Great White Throne Judgment, and many other passages as well that tell us there is going to be a day of judgment. Now in these passages that speak of the final judgment, the criteria by which we are judged is always our moral behavior and the work that we have done in our lives.

And the reason why we're judged by our works is not because our works save us, but because our works infallibly demonstrate whether or not we have been saved by faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. And so God's going to look at our works, and from those works he's going to draw a conclusion, and that is that this person was trusting in Jesus as Lord and Savior, or they weren't. And so from time to time, every Christian...

looks back on his life and his behavior and he thinks about well what is my life and my behavior going to say about me on the day of judgment of whether I had faith in Jesus or not are my works going to show that I've been a true believer in Jesus or are they going to show that I've been a hypocrite and that my behavior are contradicting my profession and that I said Lord Lord but I didn't do much, if anything, of His will. And so that is what David is doing here, and he's examining his life, and he's saying, Lord, this is what I have done. And then he's saying, Lord, this is what I haven't done.

And then he says in verse 9, gather not my soul with sinners. Right. And so, you know, he's going over what Psalm 1 goes over, and that is, Have I been walking in the counsel of the ungodly, or have I been walking in the counsel of the Lord?

And so we do well to think often about the Day of Judgment and to look at our behavior in light of it. and ask ourselves, this choice I'm making right now, is this going to demonstrate on the day of judgment that I'm a Christian and that Jesus is Savior and Lord, or is it going to demonstrate that that's a false profession and really something and someone else is the Lord of my life and the true God that I am serving. And so what David is doing is he's saying, Lord, you know I'm trusting in you.

You know that I have lived for you as the dominating characteristic of my life. He doesn't claim sinlessness here. He just claims that his life has been one that's been marked by discipleship.

rather than disobedience. And so this is the content of our psalm. This is the theme of our psalm.

And it's one that's a challenge to us as well. If we were writing Psalm 26 about ourselves, Could we say regarding ourselves the thing David says regarding himself and the evidence that he has, would those be our evidences as well? All right, that's a little introduction to Psalm 26.

Jerry, 8E, 7ER, please go ahead and read to us the entire psalm. Indicate me, O Lord, for I have lost in my integrity. And I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.

Examine me, O Lord, and try me; test my mind and my heart. For your loving tightness is before my eyes, and I have one in your church. I do not test with deceitfulness, nor will I go with a pretender.

I hate the assembly of evil, evil deeds, and I shall not sit with the wicked. I shall wash my hands in innocence, and I will go about your altar, O Lord, that I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving and express all your wonders. O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells.

Do not take my soul away along with sin. Store my life with men whose blood sheds. Though his hands is a wicked state and his right hand is full of pride, put it to me, I shall walk in my integrity.

Redeem me and be gracious to me. My foot stands on a level place in the congregation. I shall bless the Lord.

Please come down to the call, Jerry. Alright, we'll start things off here a little bit. You know, this psalm breaks down into two sections.

We have the plea for vindication in verses 1 to 8. And then we have the plea for deliverance in verses 9 to 12. He's laying out his evidences before God.

Apparently he's been accused, falsely accused by wicked people as to his conduct and as to his character, as to his consistency. I don't know if any of you have ever had somebody come up to you and say, "You know what? I don't have any confidence that you are a saved person." And you say, "Well, okay.

Am I a saved person? A lot of times those things are slanders of the devil through the devil's people, because their idea of what a Christian should be like is someone who never makes anybody feel bad about anything. And if you ever make anybody feel bad about their sins or challenge them about their need to trust Christ as Savior...

well, then you're just not Christ-like. So we do have false accusations. Most of my accusations about my lack of salvation come directly from my own conscience.

When I behave poorly, I commit sins, I say to myself, well, how can I be saved and be behaving like this? and it's a real check on my behavior. And it's like, okay, Mac, how is this going to play out on the day of judgment?

Is this going to be an evidence that you're saved, or is this going to be an evidence that you're a hypocrite? And... You know, having daily thoughts about the day of judgment and being ready for it, renewing repentance of sin and faith in Jesus, renewing a desire to engage in good behavior and avoid bad behavior is a mark of someone who has the fear of God.

someone who has a recognition that there's going to be a day of accountability and the recognition that we need to live in such a way that we don't just say, Lord, Lord, but we also do the will of the Father, which is in heaven. So that's the challenge here. All right, any further comments on either the plea for vindication or the plea for deliverance?

Yeah, copy all, copy all, Mark. Real good comment there. Mark was just pointing out 1 Corinthians 1...

verses 28 through 31. And he was talking about the fact that if we're saved, we don't glory in ourselves for that. Christ Jesus has provided us with righteousness and sanctification and redemption and any wisdom that we have.

And so if all those things have been provided for us, there is no basis to glory in who we are or what we have done. And so if we've lived for the Lord, we don't give ourselves credit for that. We recognize that my ability to live for the Lord is because He began a good work in me.

He is continuing it until the day of Christ. And so he's the one who is doing the work of sanctification. Do I have responsibilities in all of that?

You bet. But who gets the glory and the credit, not only for saving me, but also for helping me to live in such a way that it gives credibility to my profession of faith? all the glory goes to God.

So, you know, it's important for us to understand here that when David talks about his conduct, he's not bragging, he's not glorifying himself when he describes these true statements about himself. He's just simply recounting the truth. And as to the source of that good behavior on David's part, to God be the glory.

Because you'll notice in verse 11 of our Psalms, Psalm 26, verse 11, he says, Redeem me and be merciful unto me. And he recognizes that no matter how good his works are, they are at the ground of his redemption. They may be the ground of his evidences, but they're certainly not the ground of his redemption.

And even as the ground of his evidences, it evidences that God has been at work in his life, as Mark brought out there. So we don't glory in what God has done in us and through us, even though we do recognize that. what God has done in us and through us.

We don't glory in that as though somehow we're special people and we're just incredibly righteous folk. If I can say, you know, I've served the Lord, I also have to say immediately after that to him be the glory. He enabled me to do it.

And so, Mark, thank you for pointing out that even though we can recognize the truth about our transformed lives When we recognize that truth, we recognize that it was God working in us, willing to do it for His good pleasure that made all of that possible. Mark, great comment and great passage. Thank you for that.

Sorry, go ahead. Yeah, I'm recalling a couple of passages, and I don't know the exact verses. But I recall the Apostle Paul saying, "I die daily." And then Jesus said to deny yourself and take up your cross daily.

And then one of my favorites actually is, "I am crucified with Christ, "neither will I live, yet not I." but Christ liveth in me. And so, and then there's another couple other passages too, the fruit of the Spirit, you know, in Galatians, where it talks about the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. And so I guess what I'm trying to get at is, you know, the constant...

battle with the flesh, to deny the flesh in the lust of the flesh, and to walk in the spirit and follow the spirit and, you know, enjoy peace, long-suffering, and gentleness is, I guess, is my point over... Yeah, and well said. You know, we all recognize we're in a war.

And, you know, because we're in that war and because the flesh lusts against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh, and these two are contrary to the other, we have this battle with remaining sin in our lives. You know, we've been made new creations. We want to serve the Lord.

We delight in the law of God after the inward man. And yet we find this principle that still wants to pull us down and pull us back into sin. And because of the battle, because of the battle, we ask ourselves, how can I be saved and have these horrible desires?

And the fact that you're even asking that question now, shows that you're saved. Because if you weren't saved, you would be comfortable in your sin. You would be complacent in your sin.

Not only would you not be fighting against your sin, you'd be trying to figure out every way you could get more of it. And so the unsafe person doesn't have this battle. And the fact that you have it and that you're trying to live for the Lord, you're trying to walk in the Spirit, you're trying to manifest the fruits of the Spirit, you want to be a credit to God in your testimony, even though you fail often like I do.

You know, that's the sign of a person who is saved because they have that battle. And the important thing is to not say, oh, I need to be free from the battle to have assurance of salvation. The important thing is to say, my assurance of salvation is based on the fact that I haven't given over, I haven't given in, I haven't given up, I haven't switched sides, and I haven't said no.

let us sin that grace may abound. And so it's those who mourn over their sins, not those who are free from sins, that are the saved people. And so be encouraged, Derek.

The fact that you're in the battle, the fact that you're fighting the battle is a manifestation of that new nature that desires to be free from sin and sin. And you know, you have that attitude of Romans 7, a wretched man that I am, because of these divided influences that are in our life. The new nature, the Holy Spirit longs to obey the Word of God, and the flesh, well, it still has those wretched desires.

whatever they may be and we have to have to fight that and so Romans 8:13 you mortify the deeds of the flesh through the spirit that's the sign that you're alive and that's a sign that you have eternal life so Eric thank you for pointing out those passages and the fact that it's a process, it's a struggle, and the struggle is not a sign of lack of salvation. Lack of struggle is a sign of lack of salvation. Back to you there, Eric.

Yeah, thank you very much for pointing that out, because, you know, just as I think you said or somebody had already said earlier, is that, you know, when you do do something, you know, you know, you get into an argument with somebody and you just insist on having your way, and then you walk away from that and you feel just awful about what had just happened, and then I start to think, am I even saved, you know? And I appreciate you pointing out that, you know, that's part of the process and the sign that, you know, a person is saved, that you do feel bad about that and you mourn over that, you know, pride or... you know, one kindness towards somebody.

And you just have to, you know, ask for forgiveness, like 1 John 1, 9, you know, and then just release it and ask for forgiveness. So I appreciate you pointing that out because there's a lot of things, you know, here and there. Like, as you pointed out, it's like, you know, I've struggled with.

And then I start to question my salvation. So I appreciate the encouragement and the encouragement pointing that out over yeah amen Eric well said well said all right so the net would like to acknowledge Dave KE7WKI Dave good to have you back with us again this morning see you there on the Utah SDR appreciate you being there all right Eric great comment and appreciate the way you captured that All right, any other comments on our passage? Delta, give me 7-E-Z-L. Roger, please go ahead. I've got a different Bible here in the ham shack, following up a few references on sliding and Hebrews.

It says Hebrews chapter 10:23, "Hold fast the possession of our faith without wavering, for he is faithful that promised." So, yeah, we, you know, walking in the footsteps of Jesus, he was faithful and used the great pattern to be consistent. But unfortunately, the disciples certainly were wavering. So the Lord, unfortunately, is used to, and wants to encourage us to be strong.

Amen. And to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might is a process of constantly moving toward the Lord in prayer and in Bible reading, in faith and trust. and drawing on His strength, confessing our weakness, and seeking grace and mercy.

And so that process ensures that we will have a good outcome. It ensures that we will grow in grace and in knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that we will make progress. I want to read you all a passage because your passage there triggered another one in Hebrews.

Hebrews chapter 3 and verse 12 through 14. Hebrews chapter 3 verses 12 to 14. Verse 12 says, I take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.

So there's the danger that we would in our hearts start not believing and we depart from the living God. Here's the remedy, verse 13. But exhort one another daily while it is called today that many of you be hardened to the deceitfulness of sin.

That's what we're doing on the Ham Radio Bible Study this morning. We're exhorting each other. and encouraging each other in our walk.

Because, you know, if you just give in to sin and give in to sin and give in to sin, it just hardens you. And one of the remedies for breaking that cycle is the encouragement that we have from our fellow Christians. and encouraging us to renew our faith and our belief.

And then it says in verse 14, Now, you know, it's the nature of a true Christian that they persevere. But what do they persevere in? Do they persevere in sinless perfection?

That isn't what the passage says. It says we're made partakers of Christ if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end. So where's your confidence?

Well, your confidence is in Christ, isn't it? It's in his saving work. And it's in his gracious invitation.

Come unto me, all ye labor heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

All of these passages that promise us salvation and redemption are through repentance and faith. And so we maintain our repentance, we maintain our faith, we maintain it all the days of our life. We fight the good fight of faith, we struggle.

and yet we just keep turning to Jesus and keep turning to Jesus and keep on, as it says, holding our confidence steadfast to the end. Well, our confidence in what? Well, our confidence in Jesus.

And so the remedy for apostasy is Christian fellowship and continual renewal of faith in Jesus. And as we do that, we make it to the end having never apostatized, having never turned our backs on Jesus, having never given up and given in to sin. And that is the nature of the Christian life.

So let's not be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Keep fighting, keep fellowshipping, and keep faith in Jesus. as our Savior.

And if we do, we'll turn out just fine on the Day of Judgment. Roger, great comment there. All right, any other comments?

We'll go with Jeff AK6OK first, and then Mark. Go ahead, Jeff. Yeah, thank you, Max.

You know, one thing I see in all the Psalms written by David, he's looking for vindication all the time. That's sometimes how he starts. "Please vindicate me, Lord, because I've walked with integrity," or however you state it.

It makes me think about just a question, and you may not know the answer to this, but That asking for vindication indicates to me that there is a shadow of doubt in his own mind continually whether God will accept him. And of course, his examination is another just checking his own heart and so forth. as stated here in 26 separation from from evildoers is worship but but the vindication piece just has my curiosity you know he was a man after God's own heart no question but it keeps it keeps coming up at every one of these Psalms max over Yeah, well, the reason why he needs vindication, there's two reasons why he needs vindication.

Number one, he's under tremendous assault from wicked people who are falsely accusing him. You know that anyone who's a politician, okay, who's trying to do the right thing is going to be viciously assaulted by, you know, people who are anti-Christian. And then secondly, not only is he a righteous politician trying to serve God in political office, he's a Christian.

And simply because he's a Christian, he's going to be assaulted and attacked by Satan. Okay? So he's getting a double dose of constant hammering of false accusation.

And that's why he's always saying, "Vindicate me, Lord." Now, Jeff, I know that you, like every Christian on this net, have been falsely accused many, many times by folk. And you kind of despair of being able to vindicate yourself from all these false accusations. And so what you do is you call on the Lord and you say, Lord, you know the truth.

You know I didn't do this or you know I did do this other righteous thing. Lord, you knew the motive of my heart. And, Lord, you hear all these false slanders against me.

Lord, vindicate me. And that's what David's doing here. He apparently is under false accusation.

And he says, look, I've walked in my integrity. I've trusted in the Lord. Lord, you know my heart, verse 2.

Verse 3, I've walked in your truth. Verse 4, I've not sat with vain persons. Um, Verse 6, "I've washed my hands in innocency," that is, I'm innocent of these charges that are brought against me.

And he's saying, you know, "I'm in your house." Verse 8, "I've loved the habitation of your house. I haven't forsaken your worship." Lord you know that my heart is loved to worship you and so then he says gather not my soul with sinners nor my life with bloody men and it's these sinners and these bloody men that are constantly assaulting him and attacking him that he's asking vindication for of them their hands are full of mischief and full of pride and then he says but as for me in contrast to them I'm going to keep walking in integrity You know, he says that in verse 1, "I walked in my integrity." And then he says that in verse 11, "I will walk in my integrity." And then he offers this wonderful prayer, "Redeem me and be merciful to me." And so he recognizes he needs redemption. He needs someone else to pay the ransom that he owes to God's law and God's justice for his own sin.

And so he casts himself on the Lord for redemption. from his sins and also redemption from all these false accusers. And it's just a plea to God, Lord, save me from my sins and save me from these false accusers and give me vindication because, as you know, afterwards accusations against him were very successful and people turned against David.

and as a result he had to flee and he ultimately got restored back to his throne but those are the kind of accusations he's up against and that's why he's asking for vindication back to you there just in great explanation I was just curious about that because it comes up in my mind, who is he trying to prove this to? The Lord knows who he is, obviously, right? And David also knows who he is.

He knows he's full of sin, just like the rest of us, et cetera. So just brought that up in my mind, Greg. Great point for discussion anyway.

He knows who he is. The Lord knows who he is. But he needs people to know who he is so that he can maintain his credibility in their eyes and his position in ministry to them.

Copy all. Yeah, Mark was bringing out Ephesians chapter 2, verses 4 through 10. And he really emphasized this phrase, but God.

Right. And as he said in his opening statement, you know, we all know on the one hand that God has saved us and that we are trusting in Jesus and that we have that confidence and assurance. But we also know that daily we struggle with being a knucklehead and we do things that are dumb and foolish and sinful.

And when that happens, we regret that. We repent of that. We return back to God from that.

We ask forgiveness. from him and, if necessary, from others, and we get up and we keep going. But the big equation in this isn't us.

It's God. And so he says, but God. And then we see all the things God does.

God is rich in mercies. God greatly loved us God resurrected us from a spiritual death to spiritual life God has raised us up to sit with him in heavenly places God is showing us his riches and his grace and his kindness God by grace has saved us through faith. We're God's workmanship.

And so he was just emphasizing this but God and all the things that God is doing and has done in our lives. And so we have to say with the hymn writer, to God be the glory, great things he has done. And so as we go through this life and we go through this struggle with sin and with Satan and his people, We just have to keep our eyes focused on God and who he is, what he's done, what he is doing, what he's going to do, and just maintain that focus and that faith and that single-mindedness.

Where, you know, the Bible says, What that means is that they have one object of trust. and they're looking in one direction. They have this single eye where we're focused on Jesus, we keep faith in Jesus, we keep following Jesus, and we keep trusting him knowing that he's redeemed us He's sanctifying us and preserving us, and one of these days He's going to take us to Heaven to be with Himself.

And that's where the focus has to be, in the midst of the struggle. Mark, thank you for pointing out Ephesians chapter 2, verses 4 through 10. All right, any other comments?

Please come now. Yeah, I was just noticing here in verse 10, you know, they examine me, O Lord, and prove me, try my mind and my heart, and I noticed that that's almost the exact same thing. uh...

morning and uh... home one thirty nine percent point three and twenty four which i really love one of my favorite uh... bombs uh...

where first meal dot and know my heart try me and know my thoughts and see if there'd be any wicked way in me and leave me in the way everlasting i i just love that you know that and that's one thing that i i do you know every day if I've done anything at all, knowing the unknown way, this Lord, please forgive me and lead me into that way of everlasting life and lead me into all truth. So that was my thought on that. Anyway, over.

Amen. And, you know, there's so many of these psalms that we can pray for ourselves. You know, the one you pointed out, certainly, in Psalm 139, 23 and 24, one we just read the other day, Psalm 19, keep me from secret faults, keep back your servants from presumptuous sins, let them not have dominion over me.

Then shall I be upright, etc. And so there's lots of these sections of the Psalms. In fact, I have a prayer that I have printed out downstairs.

And it's just various phrases like the one you just quoted out of Psalms that I've strung together to make a morning prayer. you know, to start out the day with. And so we can't do any better than to pray the prayers that are inspired by the Holy Spirit that are in the Psalms, and then just take these prayers.

And this Psalm 26 today is a prayer. and he's praying to God. Well, you can make this your prayer.

And so, Eric, thank you for that. I think there was another station in on top of Eric. Other station, come now.

Yeah, I was just pondering the time. It kind of reminds me of Abraham and Sarah, how they had to be patient before the promise would take place. And David, I don't know how many years was it that Samuel anointed him to be king.

It was decades, wasn't it? Over. Yeah, so, right, exactly.

The time between the promise and its fulfillment is the time when we have to exercise patience and faith and consistency while we are waiting. And so, yes, David waited decades between the time that Samuel anointed him to be king, and he actually became king, and in the interim, Saul's chasing him around trying to kill him. And so you're right.

We see this over and over again in the scriptures. And here we are, we've been promised salvation through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus. We repented, we trusted Jesus to save us, and now we're in this long period of waiting for the full application of that salvation.

And we have this struggle, we're being chased around by the world and the flesh and the devil. And... You know, it's like, Lord, how long?

Well, in due time, we'll be seated in the heavenly places with Jesus, as Mark pointed out there in Ephesians. And when we get there and look back, we'll go, I'm thankful that I didn't quit in the middle of the process, that I didn't give up because the struggle was so hard. So, Roger, good point.

Let's be patient with the process. And before we know it, we're going to be with the Lord. And the faithfulness that we exercise in the face of the struggle is is going to seem like a light affliction, which was just for a moment, because of work that's far more exceeding an eternal weight of glory.

And with us in our meeting, we've discussed the steps our brother Steve, W6Y, has died through these rules and these directions, dealing with life's decisions and the things we can. We also looked up our brother Jerry, KD6J, for confidence in the faith of challenges and adversity. We also pray for your spirit to be blessed for us.

Our church this evening, we ask that you touch the hearts of our fallen friends and loved ones. We lift up our brother Ed, who is 6'6", and his brother Maude, who is 5'8". So they need to sell their house.

We lead a fire to them and help them to make that work. We lift them up that work. And we have a clearing city.

He has a community of 12,000. from the heart of the church. He asked for safe travel.

His trip to Transylvania was entertaining. A father of a woman named P.B.T., his mother, a mother of a neighbor, is a different life, and he prays for a gentle travel. - In the name of Jesus, - Your kingdom, King of kings.

We ask that you would lead to 1-2-M-2. Provide him that issue. When he can't take the fall yet.

Oh, we also pray that he can. Perhaps he'll be good to us. With you, he can die.

I spoke back out about the five games. We continue to continue to heal. I was just, you know, used to be a human, and also used the resolution of the noble priest, the priest of strength, also for their neighbor, Nancy.

We need healing from terminal cancer. She also used to do your salvation. For George, thank you AJS.

Pray for the healing of George's soul. Yes, he was born to test you in my presence. I will pray for you.

I will pass the jet black as the spheres of culprit and co-lifes. Every trace of his is the only. The medical treatment he needs to be treated.

We looked up for a brother, Cody, PI7PRF. His father, Roger, is suffering cancer. For the healing of his loved ones and his crumpled body.

He's a believer in a spirit and history. His initial surgery was successful. Any additional surgery will follow.

We pray that he is also in treatment for the pulmonary and the middle trunk of the accident. Also for Cody Hussie and Zoe Hussie. Lift up the key to WVSRKR.

We pray for Keith to trust God and be in a difficult situation. Keith, Keith. Make God's decision regarding.

We pray for Keith to have faith. of the nations, of the people, by watching, to mention, and to write, and to keep, to preach, and to help people's lives. For the brotherhood, he is 17 of the old.

He prayed for salvation, for peace, and for the people, who should worship the prophet of all cultures. And he prayed for salvation. recovery of his motorcycle incident.

We pray for the remission of his life-sharing good news and his brother-in-law Randy also needs healing of his diabetic broken leg. I'd like to relate to that. Jeff, in any case, it's okay to give up his wife and his niece Hayley.

We need salvation. For Kevin, KB7ZX has his daughter, Christina, and needs her slow fart rate to feed up to her normal speed. And also, we join them in celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary.

For Autumn, we praise her mental stability. I will tell her that her socials will be deliverance from all theological beliefs for her salvation. For Carol, KK7TPO, we pray for protection for our child Carol's seven-year-old granddaughter from ungodly influences in her home and for her salvation.

We thank you Lord for the improved child custody arrangements made for her. With that Lord we ask you to keep us well and safe and focused on you and your will for us. We thank you, Lord, for your goodness and your mercy and your grace to each one of us, and especially for your son, Jesus Christ.
