As I think Jim mentioned earlier, breaking records over here on a little heat wave. But beyond that, as long as you can stay cool, all is good there. KB7, I was going to ask you, Max, how your Pastor Jeff is doing there, hopefully seeing some improvement.

Yeah, I talked to his wife on Sunday, Kevin, and she said, well, he's about the same, so no visible signs of improvement yet. He's teed up for his second infusion this week of whatever it is they're putting in his veins. So we're just praying that that works.

But, yeah, I'm still in the saddle, still pastoring the church, doing all the preaching and teaching. And, yep, we're just carrying on. God's good.

He's meeting our needs. But, yeah, that's... Please continue to pray.

This is going to be a long, slow process, it looks like. Back to you there, Kevin. Well understood.

Well, I'm so glad you're able to be there for the situation and for the church. Did they ever figure out what initiated and caused all these internal problems for him? Well, you know, he asked the doctor that and the doctor said there are so many causes, he says I'm not going to speculate as to which one it was.

He just said, you know, you need to get on the internet and you need to look up what are the inflammatory foods and what are the anti-inflammatory foods and regulate your diet accordingly. So I don't know what he's doing in that regard, but he does know that that's one of the things that needs to be done. You know, seed oils and those kind of things are inflammatory, and I don't know what his diet is, but hopefully he's getting that figured out.

I know inflammation can be at the heart of so many problems, from cancer to who knows what. But the only thing I think of inflammation is turmeric and curcumin as a supplement that's pretty effective on countering that. Will, good to have you.

So anyway, we've got to get going here, Roger. So I'm going to have you down as a reader, and we will go from there. All right, WB7MAX, any final check-ins before we get started with the West Coast Border Study?

Please come down. A risky seven uniform off a Romeo. You know, one of the reasons why we know the Bible is the Word of God is that it predicts in great detail events that are going to occur far into the future.

And when those future events occur, the prophecy is fulfilled with 100% accuracy. And we have just such a case before us in this passage in Psalm 22. This was written about a thousand years before the crucifixion of Christ.

when crucifixion was unknown as a form of capital punishment because it had not yet been invented. And so here in Psalm 22, David prophetically predicts in excruciating detail the sufferings of our Lord Jesus Christ upon the cross. And he sets forth in graphic terms...

what our Lord would say while he was on the cross, what he would feel, how people would treat him, and the agony he would experience, and the method by which he would die, the piercing of his hands and feet. And so no mere human, apart from divine inspiration, could possibly have stated in such detail and with such perfect accuracy what would happen to the Son of God a thousand years into the future. Only God can know such information and only God can impart such information to the prophet David who recorded God's revelation in this psalm.

And this is why we know the Bible is the Word of God. There's many reasons why, but this is one of the main reasons why. Because it has the fingerprints of God all over it because God alone revealed it to the human authors because there's no way they could have known it other than by divine revelation so what we have in this psalm is a prophetic description of what christ said what christ felt and what christ experienced while dying on the cross for our sins now in this description we have a declaration of the suffering that Christ endured, and that's in verses 1 through 21a.

And then in verse 21b, all the way through verse 31, we have the triumph of Christ declared. So we have this tremendous expression of suffering in verses 1 to 21a. And then verse 21b all the way through to verse 31, we have this tremendous statement of triumph.

So what we have pictured here is the death and resurrection of Jesus on the cross, prophetically declared by David under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Now, to be sure, David was speaking of himself and his suffering in this psalm. We don't want to discount that.

But he was also speaking in the voice and out of the experience prophetically of the Lord Jesus, his son, who would sit on his throne and provide us with redemption. So that is a little background to this psalm. And I'm going to ask Roger WB7VZL to read it, and then we will discuss it together.

Roger, WB7VZL, go ahead and read for us, please. This is WB7VZL reading from the NASB. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Far from my deliverance are the words of my groaning. O my God, I cry by day, but thou dost not answer, and by night, but I have no rest. yet thou art holy O thou who art enthroned upon the praises of Israel in thee our fathers trusted they trusted and thou didst deliver them to thee they cried out and were delivered in thee they trusted and were not disappointed But I am a worm and not a man, a reproach of men and despised by the people.

All who see me sneer at me. They separate with the lips. They wag the head, saying, Commit yourself to the Lord.

Let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, because he delights in him. Yet thou art he who didst bring me forth from the womb.

Thou didst make me trust upon my mother's breast. Upon thee I was cast from birth. Thou hast been my God from my mother's womb.

Be not far from me, for trouble is near, for there is none to help. Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.

They open wide their mouth at me as a ravening and roaring lion. I am poured out like water. Yet all my bones are out of joint.

My heart is like wax, it melted within me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my jaws. Thou didst lay me in the dust of death.

For dogs have surrounded me. A band of evildoers has encompassed me. They pierced my hands and my feet.

I can count all my bones. They look, they stare at me. They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.

No ZXN. Kevin, KP7 ZXN, please go ahead. I'll tell you, there's so much here.

This is one of the most powerful and most powerful aircraft in the world. psalms in so many ways, and you touched on several of them in your introduction, Max, and just reminded of them as you read that so well, Roger. And, I mean, you can literally spend easily a month on this psalm alone and never exhaust the depths of it.

what it is has for us but just from the beginning here you know as you talked about well it kind of holds three positions if you will um in my mind uh not only are these real events that david experienced and felt and uh the anguish and feeling of abandonment that he clearly experienced. And clearly the prophetic nature verbatim, as we see in the L3 of the Four Psalms, quoted by our Gospels, beginning with the very first verse here, from our Lord, but also to hold the position in all of those that maybe have experienced such anguish and feeling of abandonment in some circumstance as well. And so it is powerful that way.

But one of the things at the very beginning of this psalm, Even in this anguish, even in this guttural expression of pain and struggle, he still declares, my God, my God. He still declares God in first person possessive. knowing that even though he feels abandoned, even though he does not feel God's presence, he still possesses, he still has that covenant claim of my God, my God.

And I think that's just substantial in of his own. He never gives up that recognition and that covenant connection to God. KB7, Zedek Center.

Yeah, Kevin, well said. Thank you for bringing that out. You know, it reminds me of the words of Job.

Though he slay me, yet will I trust him. And here we have, my God, my God, why has you forsaken me? And, you know, a lot of people, if they felt forsaken, they would say, well, there is no God.

And faith clings even when faith is in the most intense pain. And even when we feel the most abandoned, we never turn our back on God. We never reject God.

We never condemn God. And what's interesting to me is that, as you well said, Kevin, thank you for bringing out the fact that he's still clinging to God even though he feels abandoned. And not only does he cling to God, verse 2, Okay?

And it's like he's not answering prayer, I feel utterly forsaken, and yet he's still turning to God and not away from God. And then he even justifies God, verse 3, So even though he feels abandoned, even though he feels like God's not answering his prayer, He still clings to God and he still justifies God and says, "God, I know that you are a sinless person, that you are holy, that you will always do the right thing. And even though I don't comprehend what's going on and I feel abandoned and I feel like you're not listening to me, you are still my God and you are still a righteous God." Now that is the disposition of faith.

That's the disposition of someone who has a genuine covenant connection with God. through faith in Jesus and the new birth. Kevin, what a wonderful comment.

Thank you for bringing that out. So when you feel abandoned, when you feel like God's not answering prayer, what are you going to do? Are you going to turn away from God?

No, you're going to turn toward God And you're going to double down and say, even if he kills me, I'm still going to trust him. I will never give up my trust in God, my faith in God, and my confidence in God's character. And in fact, that he's going to keep his promises.

And the fact that someday, someway, somehow, he will bring me through this and out of this and into that blessed place of green pastures and still waters. All right, Kevin, thank you for that. Any other comments, please come down.

Whiskey 7, Uniform Alpha Romeo. Whiskey 7, Uniform Alpha Romeo, go ahead. Okay, so I thought I was going to just stay on the sideline and listen, but this discussion kind of sparked some curiosity in me.

Online, I've seen a couple of these street interviews where, you know, They're interviews under the banner "Jews for Jesus." And they're really cool interviews because this guy who's Jewish and has converted to Christianity is going along the streets in Israel and other places and he's talking to Jews. He's reading different passages out of the Bible, out of the Old Testament, that they might not be familiar with. The most common one is Isaiah 53, and they kind of call it the forbidden chapter.

I think that's a little bit of clickbait, but I did a little... reading real quick just to find out why they called it that. And the context is that often in the normal Jewish synagogue calendar that they all follow, they skip from Isaiah 52 to Isaiah 54.

And so unless they're doing like personal study, they don't really read it. Well, I asked about Psalm 22 because I you know, for Christians this is such a clear Messianic scripture that we see so much of the Savior in. I was curious, you know, what is the more traditional Jewish reading of this?

And, you know, the answer was basically that, you know, when they read the Bible, are reading this, one of the key translations here that means, "They pierced my hands and my feet," in Hebrew reads, "Like a lion are my hands and my feet." And of course, David has a lot of stories, you know, that relate to his experience with lions, and so they don't see that symbolism of the pierced hands and the pierced feet. But the, you know, The other statement, you know, my God, my God, why have you forsaken me? And they divide my clothes amongst them and cast lots, to me, are just these amazing, you know, messianic prophecies that so many...

So many Jews likely just don't connect the dots because, again, a lot of the way that they presented in synagogue and other stuff are in this historical context. They related a lot to Israel and other stuff. anyways I just thought it was interesting, you know, sometimes you see these videos online and you wonder how they've never connected these dots before.

And I think it's sometimes the simple part of human nature of, you know, contextually in synagogue, that's not what they're trying to connect the dots to. you know, in Christian Bible study, that's what we are. But it's amazing to watch some of these interviews with Jews who then hear it, and they go, "Yeah, that sounds like a New Testament scripture or a Christian scripture." And then the person interviewing them says, "No, it's in the Old Testament.

It's in Psalms. It's in Isaiah." And you see this look on this person's face like, "Whoa, I've got to take a look at that." Just an interesting observation there. Back to Nat, W7UAR.

Yeah, Mark, really good. Thank you for those comments. Yeah.

You know, part of the reason why Jews can read these passages and not see Messiah is because they don't read the New Testament. They don't even know what's in it. And then, of course, these passages are explained away by the rabbis as applying to, for example, Isaiah 53.

They say, oh, that's Israel. Israel is the suffering servant that's described in Isaiah 53. And you're right, they try to retranslate some of these passages in order to deflect the connection.

between the Old Testament and the New. But what we know is that the Old Testament is always to be interpreted in light of the New Testament because it provides us with the infallible, inspired interpretation. And so you see, for example, Philip talking to the Ethiopian eunuch and applying Isaiah 53 to Messiah.

And of course we see our Lord Jesus crying out these very words on the cross my God my God was now forsaken me and so you're right the connections are are Indisputable But Jews oftentimes don't even read the New Testament don't even know the stories and so therefore they read this and they don't see the connection because they haven't read the gospel description and of crucifixion. So Mark, thanks for pointing it out. Appreciate the ministry of Jews for Jesus and others who go to evangelize Israel and try to show them that the promised Messiah of the Old Testament has been provided in the New Testament in the person of Jesus, the Son of David.

I'm capable of VTL, Pat, but just wanted to say that this 5.2 really establishes David I would like to see an explanation of Isaiah's prophecy in chapter 53. This is one of the first bombs that established the danger of the problem. We don't know how the purpose of the name of that bomb is, but it definitely has a spiritual gift of prophecy.

Before we bring that out, let's bring K4VCL over to you. Yeah, Bruce, K4VCL, great comment. Thank you for that indeed.

You know, some of these psalms are just David talking about his own experience and his own communion with God, but many of them are him prophetically speaking of Messiah and what is going to happen to him, what he's going to experience. And you're exactly right. Here we have David functioning as a prophet and prophet.

of the Holy Spirit. And so that's the reason why the story all connects. That's the reason why everything fits together like a beautiful jigsaw puzzle.

And you don't have one book contradicting another book or one passage contradicting another. So... Roger, thank you for pointing out the places in the Gospel where these passages are fulfilled.

And so this is why we know we're dealing with not just mere human writings, but divine, divinely inspired words of God. All right, other comments, please come down. KD7EF?

KD7EF, sir, go ahead. Yeah, I was just listening to the conversation in the study here, so really nice back and forth, gleaning along from that, but I appreciate all the comments. But I just sit here and I'm thinking, I thought of the passage in 2 Corinthians 5:21, for he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin.

that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. And, you know, I've heard that at that point as he was on the cross, he was crying out, my God, my God, why have thou forsaken me? It was at that point in time where the burden and the heaviness of being made sin uh and bearing all the sin of the world on him at that point in time and i've heard and i don't know if it's a spiritual or biblical but i've heard at that point that god could not look on sin and he kind of looked away at that moment in time i don't know if that's true or not but anyway that's kind of what i had recalled from my from my memory in that passage he said at that point there was so much agony at the bearing of the sin of the world.

Over. Yeah, well said, Eric, and you're exactly correct. When he says here, my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

God did forsake him. And he expresses here the cost of sin... and the cost of sin is separation from God and so when Christ took upon himself the guilt of our sins it destroyed his relationship with God so that God withdrew his fellowship from his son and broke his relationship with his son and Jesus actually endured what we should have endured his separation from God and And so here we see the cost of sin.

I mean, the wages of sin is death. Death is separation from God, as well as separation of the body from the soul. And so here, of course, we also see the whole basis for sin's forgiveness.

God demanded payment from his son, which was the breaking of his relationship with God, so that we would not have to experience that. So, yes, yes. - Of course, we bought it at that point.

Because every ounce of sex for the whole world upon himself, we only accept that until it wasn't his choice. And that's how different it was for our thing that we carried until we are his. Then we want to otherwise not be separated from the death.

and the death, we have to have them to stand before us in front of the Father So he sees Christ in his glory as his only forgotten fear. Christ is coming around for sure. - Absolutely, Tom.

Yes, Tom was highlighting the essential nature of basically the father not able to look upon the sin bearer and that the importance of the sin bearer and I'm kind of putting words in his mouth regarding the priestly ministry of Jesus standing on our behalf and taking, being the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. That's my summarizing of Tom's excellent presentation. Another passage, Tom, that came to mind when you were talking is 2 Corinthians 5.

There's a number of passages, especially the wrap-up verses of 2 Corinthians 5. But did you copy Tom's elaboration on, I interpreted it as the intermediary function of Jesus, over? Yeah, Roger, thank you for that.

Tom, appreciate that. You know, yes, God couldn't look on His Son because His Son was sin. And until that sin was fully atoned for and all the suffering that it required was accomplished, God had to turn His back on His Son.

It reminds me of this passage in Habakkuk 1, verse 13. which says, Thou art of pure eyes, and to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity. And that's why God couldn't look on His Son or have a relationship with His Son when His Son was made sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

So, Tom, thank you for that comment. Much appreciated. Okay, we are out of time.

We need to go to prayer. So I appreciate the contributions that everyone made. And I'm really grateful for this psalm and for the way it describes the suffering that Jesus went through on our behalf.

And so he was forsaken that we might not be forsaken. And he suffered the pains of hell on the cross. that we might be delivered from them.

And that's that note of victory that we see at the end of this psalm when he says, You have heard me. I will declare your name to my brethren. And it has this tremendous note of praise.

Verse 24, "He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, neither has He hid His face from him; but when He cried unto him, he heard." And so we remember Jesus said, "It is finished." And in the resurrection, He was restored. and now has the full fellowship with his Father because the sin was fully atoned for in the suffering and therefore we can have that relationship with the Father and Jesus has it as well. So what a wonderful note of triumph this psalm closes with as a declaration of what all this suffering achieves.

The only other comment I want to make is that you can see the animal-like nature of those who hated Christ and those who crucified him. They're likened to bulls. They're likened to dogs.

They're likened to devouring lions. And so you see that... This language shows the bestial nature of those who hate Christ and those who reject him.

They're acting like animals when they do so. All right, it's time for us to go to prayer. Jerry, AE7ER is going to close in prayer for us.

Operators group and they're so larger than the planning county club now. And their goal is to, you know, meet the core issues and help one another and get the antennas up in the air. I actually was down for a long time.

I will go in and look it down if the guy's just got his back up in the air. And then he gets a new wire up and helps me get up there. And then we build the antenna itself..

Roger, roger. You know, as I age, I've had some of those things that I don't even just go up to the roof like I used to. And so far my antenna is out getting there.

But, even, you know, who am I going to get, per se, to do the antenna work if I need? And so I'm so blessed to hear that you have had a team to help you get back on the air, get that antenna back out, because the big praise of the Lord. especially if you never imagined that you'd be using ham radio so much when you are not able to walk a while.

Yeah. Well, my, I thank you for our get-acquainted visit, and I'm so blessed to know that you're going to get some medical attention and hopefully... May I have a prayer for your appointment tomorrow, over?

Yeah, I'll show you a prayer for my appointment tomorrow. Last time I had my appointment with Jim, I was in the emergency room with my friend, and I was standing up, and I couldn't move around much, so I'm standing up. And I'm not sure it's contributing to my strength or not, but I want to be able to stand.

And the longer I stand, the better. I'm going to have a prayer for your appointments and that your goal is to be able to stand and to show improvement to just to, and even for your psyche, you know, to be able to know that you're making some improvement. Dear Father, we lift up my new friend, Tom, and he's got some appointments, as you know.

You arrange for those to happen. We pray that there'll be some breakthroughs and connections from your, blessed holy spirit influencing those that surround tom and his great need and whoever else is associated with him we do pray that the wonderful connections that you know so much about will happen so that he will have a quality of life that can ultimately give glory to our great God and Savior, Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

You know, I've been a ham since I was in the middle, my little, my middle teens. I got my knowledge when I was 15. And back then it seemed like life was so organized, and we didn't have to vary all over.

We didn't vary the calls except between K and W, and it was quite sanitary back then. And for radio stations, you know, east of the Mississippi, it was W and ham. It was mixed up between W and Ks, but we sure didn't have all these variations.
