And I'll give you a minute here to turn to that in your Bible and be ready to read. That would be Psalm 9. Go ahead, Jeff.

But what I meant is that we're going to get started with the Bible Study itself. All right. are hating and attacking he and his people and seeking to destroy them.

So David's praises for past deliverances transition into David's petitions for present deliverance. So the psalm opens with worship and it closes with a request. and the element of praise constitutes the basis for the plea for deliverance.

We see this, for example, in the Lord's Prayer, right? Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. So it opens with praise, and then we have petition, give us this day our daily bread, etc., and then it closes on a note of praise again.

So just praying in praise without even asking anything is a great thing to do, but the praise often forms the foundation for prayer. Well... David is the author of this psalm, and though it was apparently written after he was on the throne of Israel, the particular circumstance that occasioned its writing is unknown to us.

Apparently, the nations around Israel were posing a threat to Israel. The enemy that is identified is said to be the heathen, a term that applies to the Gentile people around Israel. So three times in this psalm he identifies his enemies as the heathen, and once he identifies them as the nation.

So these enemies are not just David's personal enemies, they're enemies of the entire nation as a whole as well. And so the picture here is that of kingdoms of this world assaulting the kingdoms of God. the children of Satan attacking the children of God.

And, of course, the parallel in our day is the assault, for example, of Islam upon the church throughout the world, the assault of atheistic governments upon the people of God, the assault of organizations... and institutions upon the church and the believers and the people of God. So in our day, there are large unified blocks of political and religious and military power made up of ungodly people that are arrayed against the church of God everywhere in the world today.

And these are the heathens. that are spoken of in our passage. And we are the spiritual nation that they hope to silence and destroy.

But, of course, the good news is that they shall utterly fail. As it says in verse 9, the Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in time of trouble. So that's the basic background and thrust of our psalm.

And now we're going to read this psalm and have opportunity to discuss it together. So, Jeff, AK6OK, if you could read for us Psalm 9, we'd appreciate that. Go ahead there, Jeff.

All right, Max, and good morning to everybody this morning. Beautiful day today. Another one of God's wonderful days.

Thanksgiving for God's justice. This is out of the NASB. I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart.

I will tell of all your wonders. Verse 2, I will rejoice and be jubilant in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before you. For you have maintained my just cause. You have shattered the throne, judging righteously.

You have rebuked the nations. You have eliminated the wicked. You have wiped out their name forever and ever.

Verse 6. The enemy has come to an end in everlasting ruins. I love that.

Everlasting rod. And you have uprooted the cities. The very memory of them has perished.

But the Lord sits as king forever. He has established his throne for judgment, and he will judge the world in righteousness. He will execute judgment forever.

for the people's family. The Lord will also be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Lord, have not abandoned those who seek you.

Sing praises to the Lord. Who dwells in Zion declare his deeds among the beat among the people and in verse 12? For he requires blood remembers them.

He does not forget the cry of the needy Be gracious to me Lord set my I'm sorry, "See my oppression from those who hate me, you who lifted me up from the gates of death, so that I may tell of all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation. The nations have sunk down to the pit which they have made, and the net which they hid their own foot has been caught. The Lord has made himself known.

He has executed judgment. A wicked one is ensnared in the work of his own hands. The wicked will return, this is 17.

The wicked will return to show himself all the nations who forgot God. For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever. Arise, Lord, do not let mankind prevail.

Let the nations be judged before you. Put them in fear, Lord. Let the nations know that they are merely sinners.

Well, I lost over the air. The band's kind of dropped out, but the SCRs are working. Good morning again, Max.

Good morning, everyone. KB7's at it. And I missed part of your summary.

What I heard was excellent there. You know, my notes here I have that, you know, Psalm 9 and 10 are really meant to be together and that they are an acrostic psalm, if you will, though incomplete and a little bit in that fashion. BUT EVEN THE SEPTUAGINT PUTS THEM TOGETHER AS ONE PSALM.

SO THEY'RE KIND OF TWO DIFFERENT FOCUSES HERE. BUT I JUST WANTED TO TAKE A... REALLY LOOK AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THIS PSALM HERE.

AGAIN, YOU KNOW, IN THESE SONGS OF... THAT, YOU KNOW, THESE ARE REALLY SONGS OF WORSHIP THAT DAVID HAS WRITTEN. AND BY THE INSPIRATION OF GOD, CLEARLY, But how he begins with this psalm, giving thanks to God with all of his heart.

You know, so many times we've seen and we probably have the tendency to try to compartmentalize things of God. Well, you know, we'll keep... the worship of god and my my walk and my life with god over here but try some you know there's a tendency to try to separate the rest of your life uh from god well that doesn't work and that's not god's plan and david is such a wonderful example here of this expression that he gives thanks to God with all of his heart and in other words all of his devotion every chamber every bit of his being in fact this is the fulfillment what Jesus talks about in Matthew 22:37 which says you love your God with all your heart soul and mind you know and in other words, with all of your being here.

And then as a response to that, and I'm going to tell the world of all your wonders, you know, when God works in our life and God is alive in our life and present in our soul, we cannot help but want to testify to share the things of god to others and and so this is a natural expression that flows out and then he goes on to talk about how he's going to be glad he's going to exalt and he's going to sing praises and again one building on the other of that expression of that love that that thanks uh to god for the love that's in his heart uh for god working and then as he goes on to describe the circumstances and and really uh song of victory. And ultimately, as we see in the conclusion of this song, this isn't only speaking of, as you pointed out, Max, I did hear the past victory and will be present through future battles But ultimately, God's going to win the ultimate victory. And we know that that is to come.

It's prophesied in the Old Testament in many places, Zechariah and Daniel, and fulfilled, we see, completed in the New Testament. But we see that Jesus, our Lord, will certainly have the final victory as well there. Give me seven, is that acceptable?

Yeah, Kevin, well said. Before I comment, I just want to recognize Dave, KE7WKI. Dave, thank you for being there in the Utah SDR.

All right, back to Kevin. Kevin, great comments. Yeah, you know, the way this psalm opens is really inspiring.

"I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee; I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High." And so, Kevin was pointing out the praise, the gladness, the exaltation, the joy, the the gratitude that God, that David showed to God for who he was. And you know, this note of exuberant praise puts us in a frame of mind then to offer our petitions.

You know, I think of oftentimes our worship, sometimes we do that with a half a heart. And, you know, one of the things I have to do when I go to church is I have to really discipline my mind to not think about everything else that's going on during the week or everything that's going to go on in the week ahead and just really focus and give my whole heart to God. the worship of God to prayer to Bible reading even to this Bible study, right?

It's easy while you're listening to other people talk or maybe scripture reading is going on or somebody's praying just let your mind wander all over creation and I really like this phrase, I will praise the Lord with my whole heart In other words, he's not giving God half of his attention. It is something else, the other half of his attention. But he's doing the whole thing there.

So, yeah, Kevin, great comment. This shows David's love to God. And out of the context of that love, that he worships him, has this intimate relationship with him, and of course this ability to express his needs beforehand.

You know, these opening words are so inspiring. They're so uplifting. They're so encouraging.

They're so motivating to help us to have a right attitude toward God and towards ourselves and towards our circumstances and even towards our enemies. You know, Verse 4 is a great encouragement to me as well. He says, "For thou hast maintained my right and my cause, thou saddest in the throne judging right." And so, you know, one of the first things he does here after offering these notes of praise is to recognize God as judge.

and that the judge of all the earth will do right, and that he will administer justice, and in that we can have our confidence in the face of injustice. And of course, as I said in my introduction, what David does here is he goes back and recites God's previous deliverances by God of David and the people from Israel. their oppressors and from the wicked who had attacked them.

And he's saying, you know, as I look back, I can see that God has done the right thing. And so that gives me confidence to know that God will do the right thing in the future. But yes, you know, praise is such an important part of lifting our spirits, of lifting each other up, encouraging each other, and putting ourselves in the right frame of mind and to deal with the struggles that we have before us.

Mark, KJ7PVT, go ahead. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you. Yeah, Mark, really well said. Mark is just pointing out the fact that there is a prophetic element here in Psalm 9, and especially in verses 5 and 6, when he says, you've rebuked the heathen, you've destroyed the wicked, you've put out their name forever and ever.

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end, and now as destroyed cities their memorial is perished with them. So what Mark is saying is that this is a statement of the complete and total and final subjugation of the enemies of God. And he was saying, well that hasn't happened yet.

It's happened in part, of course. You know, the Roman Empire is no more. The Ottoman Empire is no more.

You know, Hitler's Nazi Germany is no more. So, yes, kingdoms have fallen, but not all of them, and others have been raised up. And Mark was pointing out in Zechariah chapter 14, verses 3 to 6, that this is going to happen when Jesus returns.

And so there's this prophetic declaration. And Mark, along with that, we have Revelation chapter 11 and verse 15 when it says the seventh angel sounded and there was great voices in heaven saying the kingdoms of this world... or become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.

So, yes, there's this prophetic element that while God is in the process of subduing our enemies now, and they are in some respects partly subdued and partly destroyed, Yet the day is coming when they will be fully subdued, fully destroyed, when Jesus comes. And so we have hope for the present, and we have a tremendous confidence regarding the future, that the wicked will not prevail. Christ wins.

His people win. Satan and his people and his kingdoms lose. They're in the process of losing now, but they will completely and totally lose when the time comes.

Mark, thanks for pointing out that future prospect and prophecy that is in verses 5 and 6. All right, any other comments, please, come out. YSI?

Steve, W6YSI, go ahead. Yeah, just thinking about this, I haven't been able to hear the other two folks that have responded. The band is bad, but I don't have an FDR listener.

Anyway, one of the things that I've really been struggling with is this, is that Jesus told us to, you know, "Don't stick our heads in the sand." to be on the alert, be watching what's going on, be sober in that, in that watching, and to know what's going on. But I was just expressing for a moment this morning, Max, when I first checked in that, see, that got to me yesterday, not so much what Jesus said, but the fact that I do that, And it just became so overwhelming yesterday that it took the wind out of my sails. I mean, I just, I was ready to quit.

That'd be a six YSI. Yeah, Steve, and, you know, when we're just looking horizontally and at our circumstances, you know, we can't be ready to give up and quit because, you know, the immediate circumstances, both in our personal lives and in our larger community and national life, can make it seem almost hopeless. And it can seem completely overwhelming.

And we see David, for example, in Psalm 42, talking about how overwhelmed he is. And yet he says, you know, don't be cast down. hope thou in God for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance and so yeah Steve you know there are times when we just get completely overwhelmed by what the world and the devil and the flesh are throwing at us and we have to just shut that off and shut that out, turn to God, meditate in His Word, pray, and reorient our hope and our focus around God's promises and around God's redemptive purposes He's carrying out.

And of course, ultimately, the conclusion of victory that He's going to achieve in all wickedness. is put down and eliminated when Jesus returns. And the kingdoms of this world do become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ.

In the meantime, we've got to constantly do what David did. It says when David was overwhelmed, he said he sat down on a rock and encouraged himself in the Lord. And you know, I get in that exact same position, Steve, where there are times when I feel like, "Oh, there's no way I'm climbing up out of this hole that I'm in." And yet, you look up, you reach up, and God pulls you up.

And He pulls you out of that horrible pit, sets your feet upon solid ground, and He establishes your going. Steve, thanks for sharing that struggle, and I'm glad that you shut all that voice off, and you begin to just focus on God. And that's how we cope and how we get through those really, really discouraging times.

Back to you there, Steve. Yeah, I hear what you're telling me and I concur, I agree wholeheartedly. The other ingredient that I'll throw in here is that in our efforts to try to do those things, he shut it all down and whatnot.

Enemy of his ways. And it's just, I jumped back one book. back to Job chapter 10 while you were talking about what they saw in this passage here that Job he got to that point where he starts it off and loathed my life and loathed it it got him down 36 YSI.

Yeah, copy that. Job chapter 10, verse 1. My soul is weary of my life.

I will leave my complaint upon myself. I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. I will say unto God, do not condemn me.

So yeah, you're right. We can get way down. But it's the nature of God that no one can pluck us out of his hand.

And while we may quit hanging on to God, he never quits hanging on to us. And that's the comfort and the peace that we have. Once you begin a good work in your faith, you've got to continue it.

And however deep of a hole you get into, even if you go through the valley of the shadow of death, God is still with you. and he will bring you out on the other side of that. He will prepare a table before you in the presence of the enemy and he will cause your cup to run over.

And you will come to realize the goodness and mercy that's been following you, even in the dark valleys. because that goodness and mercy is wrapped up in God, and he says, I will never leave you or forsake you. But I may boldly say, the Lord is my helper.

What can man do unto me? So be encouraged in God. And in your despair and darkness, look up to him, cry out to him, and you will find him right there with you, beside you, lifting you up and encouraging you and bringing you up onto that solid ground.

I think what the issue is there, Will, is that he doesn't have a computer in his office where his ham radio gear is. Alright, let's see, we are on cell 9. Okay, any more comments on cell 9?

Go ahead there, Kevin. We're listening on the Utah CR. Yeah, I think that's the only way we'll hear each other through Utah there.

I'm not hearing Mark or some of the others either. And with Mark's comment, too, on the eternal nature, you know, if we look at verses 7 through 10 here, we see that his throne, his judgment is eternal. And the throne is not just simply a symbol of power, but of judgment.

And it is a righteous judgment. It is an equitable judgment. we see here.

And it is eternal too. Ultimately yes, he's talking about future enemies here, but it does have the context of eternal judgment there in the future that the enemies you know and he goes from the personal inwardly looking praise and exaltation and witness of the god most high but now He's speaking of nations and even of the cosmos that would stand against God will certainly fall. It's a futile effort on their part because he is.

the eternal judge. He judges righteously. And in the final judgment, certainly we will see that played out as prophesied again from the Old Testament through Revelation.

KB7 is that example. Yeah, Kevin, thank you for that comment. Yep.

You know, this is a psalm of victory. It's a psalm of hope. It's a psalm of confidence regarding how it's all going to turn out.

And, you know, I just... Before the net closes, I want to draw our attention to verses 9 and 10. And, you know, these verses...

are applicable to any situation you're in. Yes, David is talking about the context here of the nations attacking Israel and God giving Israel the victory over her national enemies. But this also applies to us personally.

Notice verse 9. It says, The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. So whether the oppression is national, national, whether it's oppression happening to your church, your family, or you as an individual.

The Lord is a refuge in times of trouble. And then verse 10 goes on to say, And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee. for thou Lord hast not forsaken them that seek thee and so you can tell the difference between people who are saved and people who aren't people who know the name of the Lord and people to whom the Lord is a stranger and that is where do they put their trust and where do they find their peace?

You know, I was talking to a guy the other day who had a terrible tragedy, and I was trying to bring the comforts of the gospel to him, and he says, well, you know, I don't believe that stuff. And I said, well, then what is the source of your comfort? It was just silence.

He was just speechless. And he didn't say anything. He just turned and walked away.

And it's like, if you don't have the Lord... for your refuge. If you don't have the Lord as the one who will help you in your times of trouble, then what do you have?

You don't have anything. And I hope that God would use that to speak to his heart. And so these are two verses I just want everybody to take away from this Bible study.

the Lord is a refuge for you he's a refuge for you in times of trouble and since you know his name you put your trust in him and he will not forsake you when you put your trust in him and so verses 9 and 10 there give us place to go and and help in times of trouble and then of course what is our response verse 11 saying praises to the Lord which dwells in Zion declare among the people is doing and so when you have trouble and you pleaded the Lord as your refuge and you trust in him and he helps you then give him praise and thanksgiving for that. And I think that's right at the core here of what David is saying. All right, other comments.

Jeff, AK-6OK, go ahead. Follow up on 10. The NLP says, Those who know your name trust in you.

For you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you. And my question there is, that indicates to me that even in believers who are searching for god he will not abandon um how does that how does that set uh mac well yeah absolutely uh you know um is if we seek the Lord, we will be found of Him, or we will find Him when we search with all of our heart. You know, the Bible is full of promises to seekers, and any unbeliever who seeks the Lord will find the Lord.

God has promised that. And I'm trying to pull that verse out of my memory that... And you shall seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart, and I will be found of you, saith the Lord.

Okay? I can't remember where that's at, but that's exactly what it says. And so the problem, Jeff, is that Jesus said, come unto me.

All you that labor are heavy laden. and I will give you rest. You know, come to me.

I'm meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest for your soul. So over and over again, Jeff, we have massive numbers of invitations to anybody who wants to seek the Lord. and of course people as they recognize their need for the Lord and as they cry out to the Lord it will be a refuge for them too and that refuge is in the cross it's in the redemption that Jesus provides and it's in the reconciliation that God offers to resist the sin of faith in his son, back to you there Jeff yeah this reminds me of people who are on their deathbed who aren't believers but they know at the very end, I'm looking for God.

I know I need to do this, but I'm not quite there. That transitionary time is really, really important, and this gives me comfort to understand that... God is there for them as well.

Probably a controversial comment for a lot of folks, but something to consider. Well, absolutely, Jeff. We always have hope for people's redemption, okay?

Because we don't know what kind of transactions take place between that soul and God in the end that we know nothing about. And so, you know, we have the thief on the cross, right? And if someone weren't privy to that quiet conversation between the Savior and the thief on the cross, they would think the guy died and went to hell, just like the other thief, right?

And so oftentimes there is heart communion. between the soul and God that we know nothing about. And so, therefore, you know, all we can do is say, you know, we hope and trust that he became reconciled to God in the end.

God knows. But we are going to be hopeful in that regard. And that's certainly...

a theologically and biblically appropriate position to take back to you there jeff yeah max i remember when my mom died many years ago i don't believe she was a believer but on her deathbed I got on my knees and I said, "Lord, I need to intercede here. I don't know where my mom's coming from, but I would love to see her go to Heaven." And she was not even conscious at the time. And my hope is that that actually happened.

And this verse gives me some hope in that regard. There you go, Max. Thank you.

Yeah, Jeff, well said. And I completely agree with you and your heart's attitude. And you pray to God and then you leave that person in God's hands.

And, you know, that's all we can do. And in the end, we walk away and we go on with our ministry to the living. And, you know, we wait on God.

And when you get to heaven, Jeff, and you see what happened, you'll be content. Because the judge of all the earth does right, and the Lord does all things well. And whether he intervened and saved her or whether he didn't, that's his prerogative.

But our hope is in the mercy of God, the grace of God. the generosity of God, because it says where sin doesn't abound, grace is much more abound. So let's always be hopeful.

We can't be certain, you know, that your mom was saved, but we also have reason to hope that perhaps God had mercy on her and did save her in that state that we know nothing about in terms of what she was able to do. or what God did in her during those last moments. All right, Jeff, thank you for that.

I appreciate that perspective. All right, are there any other? Well, we're out of time here.

This is such a great psalm. Verse 17, the wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God. Verse 18, the needy shall not always be forgotten, the expectation of the poor.

a psalm of encouragement and a psalm of certainty regarding the future and how that God is going to prevail and so are his people. All right, it is time for us to go to prayer. Are there any final prayer requests before I go to prayer?

So I wanted to share all of that with all of you so that you could be prepared to be praying intelligently for Beck throughout the day and the days ahead.

And Lord, as we look back over our lives, we see how you have always been there, even in our deepest, darkest valleys. And then, Lord, you have always come to us and always turned us back to yourself and always caused us to continue to trust and hope in you and in your promises and most of all in your son and the future that he has promised to us.

So Father, strengthen our faith. Help us, Lord, to continue. to be steadfast in our trust and in our confidence, even in the face, sir, of enemies that seem to be more powerful than we are.

But, Father, they're not more powerful than you are. And so, Father, we renew and we commit our trust in you and our praise of you. Father, we have some requests today that we want to bring to you.

Dear Lord, we pray for our sister Carol, KK7TPO, and her back pain. Father, I just pray that you would heal her of that lower back pain, that you would grant her mobility and freedom of movement, and more that she would be able to function without the distraction and the discouragement of having pain in her body. And then, Lord, we bring before you our dear brother back, Alphonse of Five Yankees.

Father, we heard from Sandy that he's running a fever. And, Lord, that's a sign of infection. And, Lord, thank you that he's getting some IV antibiotics even as we speak.

And, Lord, we pray that you would cause those to be effective in beating back this infection. Lord, I pray that he would just heal without any further complications. And, Lord, I pray that this fever would disappear and this infection would be defeated.

And, Lord, he would be able to continue on with his healing journey. Father, we just want to pray today for our brother Roger, WB7DVL. Lord, he's traveling to Coville.

We didn't hear from him today. Hopefully we'll hear from him tomorrow. Lord, pray for safety on the trip and a blessed time with the family there at the cabin.

Lord, we pray for Candy and Maeve. who are ministering in Kenya to the death. Lord, give them a successful and blessed ministry.

Father, we just want to pray for George K2KJX. George K2KJX has got the pain in his shoulder. And Lord, we just pray that this physical therapy will help him to recover well.

Lord, I just pray that you would receive our faith for Sue and how well she is doing after her thyroid surgery. Father, we continue to pray for my pastor, Jeff Black, and his severe ulcerative colitis. Lord, just pray for his healing through the medical treatment he's receiving.

Father, may these infusions that he got be used by you, Father, to bring about the healing of his large intestines. lord i just pray that you relieve him of his pain that you would give him hope that encourages him lord we just want to pray for cody t ki7 trf for the healing of his mom's broken arm father his his dad roger has colon cancer we pray for his healing and then his uncle doug a believer had a severe head injury and had to be taken to a level one trauma center to have surgery. Lord, I thank you that he's stable and he's out of life, out of danger, but Father, he needs a bunch of healing like that.

And so, Lord, we pray for Doug, that the doctors could have wisdom in the surgery that they need to do to restore the injury that was done to him. Father, we want to pray for Zoe. And Lord, this young woman needs salvation.

Lord, we pray that you would help Cody to be able to have a good influence on Zoe. Father, we just thank you for our brother Will, who's gone to the doctor now. And Lord, we pray that you would get good news from his PET scan and that this slow-growing cancer that he has would just stop and go nowhere.

And Lord, may he know continued remission and subjugation of that cancer. Lord, we just want to continue to pray for Dave, AI-722. Haven't heard from Dave in a while.

The Lord, we pray for his prison ministry in the Idaho State Correctional Facility as a Volunteer Services Coordinator, and also for the services he conducts in the Juvenile Correctional Facility in Idaho. Lord, give Dave wisdom in ministering to the prisoners, And Lord, I pray that you would open their hearts to the gospel and return from crime to Christ. And Father, that you would redeem them and set them on a new course.

Father, we continue to pray for Brother WB7RKR, his wife Ronnie. And as Alzheimer's, we pray that it doesn't progress. We pray for mental clarity for her.

We pray for Harriet, Keith's sister, and her recovery from her stroke. And Lord, give Keith wisdom and health and strength in meeting the needs of these two gals in his life. And Lord, I just pray that you would heal that part of his A7.

And Lord, his issues of falling and not being able to get up, Lord, meet your hand. And Lord, I pray that it would rest on him and from it would flow strength and grace into his life. Father, we thank you for our brother Bert, 77RKD, that we hear from him this morning.

But we do pray for his wife, Danny, and the continued remission of her MS. Father, we know that players up. at times when her environmental conditions change.

Lord, I just pray that you would keep that in remission. And then, Father, for our brother Mike, W7TWO. Father, he's been texting with Jocelyn, his granddaughter, and been able to share with her about the gospel.

She seems to be interested. Lord, I just pray for Jocelyn that Mike would continue to be able to minister to her and that she would become saved. And, Lord, we pray for Mike's extended ministry.

Father, we think of his ministry to Betty, this widow whose husband died a while back. She was wisdom and strength. And, Lord, I pray that you would give Mike wisdom in knowing how best to minister to Betty.

And, Lord, we just pray for Randy. that you would heal his spirit. Lord, we got a message from a PC5F, a father who asked us to pray for our neighbors who are dealing with fire.

And Father, we just thank you for Lloyd and his prayer request there from, where is it, Kansas, I believe, for those in the West who are dealing with fires. And Lord, we do pray that you would protect homes and lives, and especially the lives of the firefighters. Father, we've lost a couple already, and we pray that you would protect them.

those that remain Father may these fires be a warning of your coming judgment and Father may people be moved to flee to Christ in the gospel as they see this foreshadowing of that great fire that should consume the entire world in the end when Jesus returns. And now, Father, be pleased to receive our thanks for your goodness and mercy and grace to each one of us and for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
