Yeah, we'll copy that. If she didn't come back with any bruises, then it wasn't too bad. Some of those board meetings can be pretty rough.

In any event, we just trust that the Lord gave wisdom and peace and unity among all the board members as to the direction that they took and the decisions they made. I'm glad to hear that she got back and that everything's okay, at least externally. All right, real good, Roger.

Any news from Candy and May in Kenya these days, over? Not that I was privy to. The one bit of news is that we had...

The head elder's wife passed away at the Woodburn church that we visit because that's Candy's home church. So yeah, Lowell is the surviving spouse. So maybe prayers for Lowell.

Any more check-ins, please come down. All right, we're going to get started with the West Coast Bible Study. We are in Psalm 3 today, the book of Psalms, the third psalm, and we'll be reading that together and talking about it.

But before we get started with our reading, we want to open our time together in prayer. And so, Ed, in 6XLH, if you could open in prayer for us today, I'd appreciate that. Go ahead.

Sure. Let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, we ask you to come to us this morning.

Yeah. You know, bless our Bible study. Amen.

that you'll illuminate the pages of the Bible. Your light will shine upon each one of us. We learn more about you.

We study these words that you've brought to us. And I just ask, Lord, that you touch each other here. I ask, too, Lord, that you're happy to hear that Beck made it home.

I just ask that you continually help him to heal. I just want to lift up Sandy there, Lord, give her strength that she has to be the caregiver and just know that can be a dying task. Just ask for strength for both of them, Lord.

I'm so happy to hear that he's on the mend, that healing him each day. Watch over Pastor Max, Lord. He brings us a message, and it's that that you're going to have it.

And just know that we all appreciate all the work that Pastor Mount does for us at this time. Anyway, Lord, it is that. Help us all be ready when you come to take us home, Lord.

And have all these things in you. Amen. Amen.

All right. We are in Psalm 3. Now, we just got done looking at Psalm 1 and Psalm 2 in our previous studies.

We saw they were a pair and that together they formed an introduction to the entire book of Psalms. Psalm 1 dealt with our attitude towards the Word of God, and Psalm 2 dealt with our attitude towards the Son of God. And when the Word of God is our ultimate source of authority, and when the Son of God is our ultimate object of trust, then we're going to be blessed infinitely and eternally.

and the rest of the book of Psalms will be a benefit and blessing to us as well. Well, today we're at Psalm 3, and we're going to be looking at Psalm 4 tomorrow, God willing. These two Psalms are also a pair, because in them we have both a morning prayer in Psalm 3 and an evening prayer in Psalm 4.

And so we see in each of these psalms that there's a morning reference and an evening reference. And so what we see is the psalmist starts his day with prayer and he ends his day with prayer. And that's what we do.

We begin the day with God. We end the day with God so that from start to finish we're in prayer to God all day long. And so when we meditate in the Word of God and we trust in the Son of God, then how can we not be filled with prayers to God?

And so it's the mark of those who believe in the Scriptures and who trust in the Savior that they bow in supplication before the God who graciously gave them both the Scriptures and the Savior. So this heading in this psalm sets before us its background. It says the psalm of David when he fled from Absalom, his son.

And so this is a story where David was on the throne, Absalom, his son, grew up and decided to betray his father. And so he began to gather a group of people around himself, ultimately instituted a rebellion against David. David and his people had to flee.

And so it's while he's having fled and he's out in the field with his loyal followers, and Absalom is sitting on the throne in Jerusalem, that he utters this prayer to God. And so these are psalms of great distress, this one in particular. And his prospects at this point look very bleak.

but David recognizes he's not alone in this. He has the Lord to turn to, and so to the Lord he turns and calls out for help with his prayer. So that's our background, and that's where this prayer sits in the book of Psalms, and we're going to read this together.

And so, Jerry, A-E-7-E-R, if you could read for us, please, Psalm 3. We would sure appreciate that. Go ahead there, Jerry.

Okay. Psalm 3, a psalm of David when he fled from heaven for one of his sins. O Lord, now my adversaries have increased.

Many are rising up against me. Amen. I'm saying of my soul there is no delivery for him in God.

Could you, O Lord, already feel the value? My Lord, the one who licks my head, I would claim to mourn with you, Lord, if he answered me from his holy mountain. I lay down and slept.

I awoke to the Lord's decency. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who set themselves against me around about. Arise, O Lord, O my God, for you have Jerry, real good.

Please come now with your call sign. WB780 Roger, please go ahead Max, when you read a poem like this it's poetry And how literal should we take, for example, the 10,000 that Jerry just read? Anyway, I'll let you answer that.

Yeah, you know, often times symbolic rather than literal numbers are used in the scriptures. We see that especially in the book of Revelation where every number is symbolic. But here, The number 10 is the number of perfection and completion.

And 1,000, of course, is a multiplication of the number 10. We have 10 times 10 times 10. And so anytime a number is multiplied by itself or by their numbers, it's just an intensification of the symbolic idea of the numbers.

So he's not counting exact numbers of soldiers here. He's just saying there's a vast army against him. And of course, Absalom had marshaled probably tens of thousands of people against David and in favor of himself.

Israel was a fairly substantial nation at that time, had a couple million people in it. So it's not unreasonable to think that there were 10,000 people. But obviously, you know, it wasn't 10,001 or 9,999.

He's using a round number here. He's just speaking of a vast group that are opposed to Him and that have been raised up by God against Him. And so we don't take the number as being exact right down to the individual man, but it's just a large group.

So thank you for that question. Excellent question. And I'm going to ask you a question.

Well, oftentimes numbers are used literally. As you say, in apocalyptic literature and in poetic literature, often numbers are used symbolically or representatively. Great question there, Roger.

Back to you. Emotionally, it sure felt that way. If I had a son, for example, and he actually went to the point, the horrible, horrible emotional point of actually revolting against, within the family, that's horrible, over it.

Yeah, you're exactly right. This is a terrible, terrible situation. I mean, it's one thing to have somebody you hardly know round up a rebellion against you.

It's another thing to have your own son. And we know that David is a picture of Christ. And so David had his Absalom and Jesus had his Judas.

And so really Absalom is picturing Judas Iscariot. and how that he betrayed Jesus and rallied with the enemies of Jesus and was an instrument in bringing an attack upon Jesus while Absalom is doing the same thing. And so this is a very wicked and evil son who was supposed to be supporting his father.

You know, the fifth commandment says, "Honor your father and mother." And he was, of course, doing the exact opposite. His goal was to kill his father. and destroy him.

And so it's a very, very sad story. You can read about that story in 2 Samuel, chapter 15 through chapter 17. Chapter 15, 16, and 17 of 2 Samuel.

is the story that stands behind this psalm and helps us understand the anguish that David is expressing in this psalm regarding his circumstance and situation. Back to you there, Roger. And also possibly, in fact, can we project even to the ethical, logical, I should say that's the future, but I mean the past, when we, when we find pictures of, of like Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 where you have the kind of the rebellion that we touched on when we read the first part of Job over there.

Yeah, yep, that's exactly right. You know, it's a spiritual conflict, really, behind Absalom is Satan, behind David is Jesus, and we see this war in the supernatural realm being played out in the people who represent those supernatural realms. And so this is really the conflict between God and Satan, between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness, between Jesus and Judas, and between we who follow the Lord Jesus and our persecutors.

And, you know, it's interesting, Roger, in Matthew chapter 10, let me just turn there for a second so I get it accurately. But, let's see, here it is, yeah, okay. Yeah, in Matthew chapter 10 and verse 34 through 36, Jesus says, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth.

I came not to send peace, but a sword." "For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: and a man's foe shall be they of his own household." That's Matthew chapter 10, verses 34 to 36. And so, you know, as painful as it is to have your own child betray you, or your own parent, betray you or your daughter-in-law or son-in-law. It happens.

It happens even in family. And, you know, when those kinds of things happen, number one, we need to realize that, you know, this is not a unique situation. This has been predicted by Jesus.

that families will be divided along spiritual lines, those who are saved within the family and those who are not. And it's happened in history. You know, it happened to David and Absalom.

And, you know, we can see this in other passages as well. So if you have a betrayal in your family where you've been betrayed by those that should have shown you honor and love and loyalty and respect, You just have to recognize that this is an ordinary part of spiritual warfare. I don't think that something is horribly wrong with you because people who are unsaved, even though they're sons and daughters or mothers and fathers or children-in-law, have betrayed you because they're unsaved.

Spiritual divisions. are greater oftentimes than family unity. And that's what David is dealing with here.

That's what many of us have had to deal with. And that's what Jesus predicted would happen. So we don't need to think that there's something strange or unusual about what is happening to us.

back to you there roger yeah in fact i i was just at the process of turning to micah 7 verse 6 where where that whole section is a quote from the old testament in the new and that jesus is floating and i i'm not even familiar with that that context to the original as well but thank you for by sharing that prediction in the context of Absalom and David. I hadn't really looked at it in that manner. Thank you, Matt.

What I like about this psalm is that it ends with verse 8. So, in other words, he goes through some pretty big highs and lows on this psalm, but he ends with that great verse 8. Yeah, Roger, thank you for pointing that out.

You know, and that is a characteristic of many of these psalms where the psalmist in the body of the psalm is really struggling with this or that or the next thing. But in the end, faith prevails. Confidence returns.

Optimism is present because the focus is set on God, His power, His grace, His mercy, and His love. in the fact that His will is going to prevail. And so Psalm 3 and verse 8, salvation belongs to the Lord.

Thy blessing is upon thy people. Well, isn't that a statement of faith? Brother, I mean, here's a guy who's got 10,000 people literally or poetically speaking a huge army opposing him uh he's in exile uh he's being hunted down and he says god's blessing is on me and uh that is faith uh will kim five s is always talking to us about faith and and you know it's so um important for us to rise above our circumstances put our affections on things above and especially on the God who is above and recognize that whatever is happening in the moment and whatever is happening in the circumstance God is in control God is working all things together for good and God is saving us out of this present evil world.

He's saving us from our sins. And he's got his angels camping around about us, protecting us. And why wouldn't we have a positive attitude, even in the midst of negative circumstances, when we realize that God's plans for us are to do us good, bring us blessing, make us like his son?

preserve us from evil, and bring us into his kingdom. And he'll allow some negative circumstances to happen for the sake of drawing us closer to himself and building our faith, but never to harm us. Roger, thank you for pointing out verse 8 and the climax of this whole song, and David's confidence in God.

Jeff, AK6 OK. Please go ahead. Yeah, Max, I had a really interesting situation yesterday.

I've got a friend of mine who I've known for 30 years, and he is from India. I think he was the result of an arranged marriage many years ago, 23 years ago. On fire Christian, loves the Lord.

His wife is apparently a believer. I gave him a sword, a battle sword, seven years ago. And I've given quite a few people swords that represent the battle with the enemy.

And this is really interesting. The gentleman texted me and said, "Jeff, my wife and I are on the way over to return the sword you gave me." And I said, "Okay, that's fine." Anyway, when she walked in the door, it was like the enemy coming after me. And the reason is she walked up to me with the sword and said, "Did you give this to my husband seven years ago?" And I said, "Yes, I did." She said, "You have no right to give this to him." This sword should never have been in my house, and he has kept this from me for seven years.

I am convinced that she did this to embarrass this poor guy. I felt really bad for him because he obviously was standing there. But she was kind of dressing me down for even giving it to him.

The first thing she said, what else have you given to him? And I said, well, I've given him many stuffed animals like stuffed monkeys, which... he gave to kids that came into his practice.

And she said, "Did the Lord guide you to do that?" And I said, "Yes." And she said, "Have you ever given those to anybody else?" I said, "Ma'am, I have given 10,000." monkeys to kids. And she somehow thought that was wrong. And I'm just glad that salvation belongs to the Lord and that we are blessed people.

And she kind of really came down on me, but came down on him more. I just thought this was so strange. Max, over.

Yeah, well I think what you're dealing with there is a woman who professes to be a believer, but who's not, for several reasons. One is, you know, she is not wanting her husband to fight the battles of the Lord, symbolized by the sword. And number two, she's completely dishonoring and disrespecting her husband by what she's doing.

And then of course she's attacking you for trying to encourage him to be a warrior for Christ. And then, of course, here you are trying to bring some comfort and blessing to kids by giving them a stuffed animal, and she's against that. It just sounds like to me, Jeff, Satan showed up and tried to attack you and was attacking the man.

And, you know, a lot of people profess to be believers who are, and by their fruits you know them. And this kind of behavior is completely off the charts for a Christian to be engaging in. And so I'm sorry that that happened to you.

I'm sorry it happened to him. But this is just a manifestation to me of satanic hostility against the work of God and the people of God in an effort to serve the cause and the kingdom. So, Jeff, that's my take on it.

And, you know, a man's enemy shall be they of his own household. And so, you know, you're being attacked. He's being attacked by his own wife.

And you know, this is a spiritual warfare right here. Back to you, Jeff. Yeah, that's kind of my point.

We have to be ready for this as well. And he texted me ahead of time and said, "Jeff, this is going to take you back when we get there. I'll explain to you later, but something's not right with my wife." He's had differences with his wife for many, many years.

We've talked about it. But he kind of forewarned me, and I was not quite sure what it was all about until I was kind of looking at Peyton in the face and realized, okay, how are you going to respond to this? He asked me not to confront her.

And there's another indicator, and I did not. I decided, let's take the high road here because it's not going to do any good to get in her face. Though I had every right to and even call her out for not letting her husband lead that family.

And this has been typical of many years. She does profess to be a Christian, but she's got a different Bible she's reading, I think. Max, go ahead.

Yeah, copy that. Well, you know, it says here in Matthew 10, verse 36, a man's foe shall be they of his own household. And Jeff, you know, to my sorrow...

Here, I think in the psalm, this is just such a, it's one of the most powerful psalms of faith, and I'm glad you touched on that, Max, that we have here. And in one side, it is tragic because we see the breakdown of a family relationship You know, sometimes from the outside, a family might look just, oh, look at that wholesome family. Isn't that wonderful?

But sometimes there's things going on internally in that family that are beyond, you know, that are troublesome. And he's being tormented. And yet, yet, in an act of faith, and I would also add an act of worship, this is David's response.

to this most difficult, personal, tragic situation is he acts in faith and he acts in worship and he turns to God and he recognizes he is his shield about him, not just before him, but all about him, that any glory he has is of God's. and it's God that lifts him up. You know, we read about these events in 2 Samuel, I think, 15 through 18, and you might consider reading those following the net in light of Psalms 3 and 4.

but it is remarkable how David even in his most difficult personal struggle he has, he also knows that the Lord promised him his sword would not leave him and that is that his reign would not be taken away from him. And so, but he turns to the Lord and he has confidence in his Lord and the only reason he comes and can sleep is because he trusts the Lord. And I think that's significant, talking about comfort in the sleep, and then as we talked about in Psalm 4, being able to rest in the Lord in sleep is direct proportion to his trust and his faith in the Lord himself.

addressing the situation, which in the middle of a crisis is easier said than done. But what a beautiful expression of faith. All glory be to God.

KB7, is that acceptable? Amen, Kevin. Really well said.

Yes, it's easier said than done to trust in the Lord in the middle of a crisis. We know we're supposed to do that, but how difficult that is. And, you know, here's David, and his situation is completely out of his control.

But here's David recognizing the situation is completely within God's control. And so he says here in verse 3, But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me, my glory, and the lister up of my head. And so that's the object of his trust.

That's where he is resting. Verse 6, I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about. And so while people are saying there's no help for him, verse 2, he's saying there's every help for me and that is in God and you know we need to not listen to those voices that say you know God has abandoned you how can there be a God and allow these things happen to you you know, isn't God terrible?

He could have stopped this and he didn't stop it, you know. And they try to tear your faith down in God. And David refuses to listen to those voices that cast aspersions on God or says that God has completely forsaken you.

And David You know, he says, no, God hasn't forsaken me. He's my shield. He's the lifter of my head.

And I'm not going to be afraid, no matter what the oppositions are, because God is there to save me. And, you know, our Lord Jesus, when he was on the cross, he said, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And he was forsaken.

But he was forsaken so that we would never be forsaken. Because the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Sin is what turns God against us.

Sin has been cleansed by Jesus so that God will never be turned against us again. He's always going to be there for us because Jesus took all of the forsakenness. that we should have had on our behalf.

Let's talk a little bit about insomnia, okay? I know a bunch of people that struggle with insomnia. I have struggled with it at times.

And here's David, okay? He's struggling with insomnia. What does he do when he wakes up, okay?

He immediately starts thinking about the Lord. And so, you know, when I can't sleep, I just start praying. And I start praying for all the people on the net.

I start praying for the people in my church. You know, I pray for some of the ministries that I am aware of. And that really helps calm me, orient my mind, brings peace, and helps me go to sleep.

The other thing that really helps is just quoting scripture. I know you all have certain passages memorized. Maybe you've memorized Psalm 23, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

or the Lord's Prayer on Father, Lord, and Heaven, how would be thy name, etc. And so I find that as I focus on God, either through prayer or through meditation on Scripture passages, that really helps put me to sleep. I know some of you guys are on prednisone and stuff, and that artificially stimulates you and makes it tough to sleep.

I'm not finding fault at all. I'm just trying to provide some encouragement that David is providing us here in this passage where he says, you know, I laid me down and slept. How is he able to go to sleep when 10,000 people are ready to kill him?

right for however many there were because he knew that the angel the lord encamps around about those who trust in him and and and he delivers them and so sleep in the midst of crisis comes through faith in God and through trusting in God and believing the promises of God and relying on the protection and the provision of God. I can relay it to the net. So anyway, yeah, that's WB7MAX, Whiskey Bravo 7 Mike Alpha X-ray. Yeah, I also, when I wake up in the middle of the night and I can't go back to sleep, I pray and review some scripture verses, and that really helps me fall back asleep, and it works for me.

K2KJX. Yeah, George, thank you for that affirmation. Yeah, George was saying when he has a tough time sleeping, he does some praying and Maybe they thought they should explain it that it's not as much of a mountain as often times the word mountain implies over it.

Yeah, copy that. Roger's referring to verse 4 of Psalm 3. Verse 4 says, "I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill." Well, what's the holy hill there?

The Ark of the Covenant. What's over the Ark of the Covenant? The presence of God, the Shekinah glory of God, right?

So what he's saying is, "I prayed to God and He heard me out of His dwelling place," is the idea. So the dwelling place of God in the mind of the Jewish people at this point in time was the Holy of Holies. And so they would pray at the temple and toward the temple because that's where the special presence of God was manifested.

And of course the real holy hill is heaven itself where God sits on his throne as pictured there in Revelation chapter 4. Isaiah chapter 6, I saw the Lord I lifted up, you know, sitting on a throne so the holy hill there is just a reference to the dwelling place of God how are that represented in the scriptures? back to you Roger thank you Max very much for that comprehensive look on that verse another point of encouragement to me is that to see this is this was written after well after Nathan was called by God to confront David and all the residual effects on David's family as Navin actually prophesied, as to the effect of that sin of Bathsheba.

And so what I really think is a powerful lesson for me as I look at this psalm is that God answered him from his holy mountain. You know, when somebody is so entrenched in sin that a prophet had to be called to dislodge him, from his blindness. And to have that voice from the Holy mouth was such a powerful, redemptive experience for David.

What he saw in his own family was the horrible Absalom's sister was involved and Absalom would insist that the judgment, including from David, probably was not adequate or timely. It was delayed partly because of his own guilt. Oh, I think that this is a great phrase.

And he answered me. Yeah, and I think you make an important point there, is that even though David had fallen into terrible sin, he had confessed it. We see that in Psalm 51.

And God had forgiven him. Nevertheless, God said consequences are going to follow. And of course the consequences are that war would never leave his house.

And, of course, he had war all the rest of his days, and part of that was even from his own son. And yet, and yet, he didn't give up in despair. Even though he was recognized that he was under the chastisement of God, He didn't just throw up his hands and quit.

He kept turning to God and kept turning to God and kept praying and kept exercising faith. And so even in the midst of the condition he was in, that he knew he was in because of his own sin, he didn't say, there's no hope. I'm giving up.

There's no point. God's against me. And just go off into the service of faith.

Here's a man who stood firm, stood strong, and kept on going. turning to God and turning to God and turning to God no matter what happened. All right, we are out of time.

This is a grand psalm. It's a great prayer, a great example of what to do in the midst of crisis, what to do when you can't sleep, and it ends on a glorious note. God's blessing is upon his people even in crisis.

he's working it together for their good managing it so they're not tested above that which they're able and will provide a way of escape out of it in due time so we can be patient in the midst continue to exercise faith and optimism and confidence in god and be filled with hope that's one of the fruits of the spirit is hope all right uh we are done we need to go to prayer Are there any final prayer requests before I lead us in prayer? Please come down. All right, let's go to the Lord in prayer. Father, we thank you so much for these wonderful psalms.

We thank you for... the way they allow us to look into the inner heart of your servants and to see how they deal with their crises and how they exercise faith in you and the perspectives and the inner thoughts they have as they go through the challenges of the Christian life. And Lord, we pray that our own lives would echo their voices and would echo their faith.

And, Father, rise above our circumstances and realize that salvation belongs to the Lord. His blessing is on us. And the Lord will take care of all of our enemies and fight them as needed.

Father, we recognize that we have enemies. there is Satan and his people but Father we also have friends and that is Christ and his people and so Lord we just ask that you would be pleased to help us pray these psalms ourselves as we read them and recognize this isn't just about someone else and their communion with God. This is about us and our communion with God.

Lord, we just want to bring before you today the needs that we have, and first of all, just a shout of joy over the fact that Beck Alphalpa 5 Yankee has returned home. and Father we're just so pleased with the treatment and care he was given and for the healing that you have provided and Lord we pray that you would continue to heal him Father reduce the swelling remove the bruising and Father, knit back together all those structures and tissues that need to heal and regain their former competence. And Lord, I just pray for Sandy that you would give her strength in in caring for Beck, Lord, she just had hip surgery herself.

And, Lord, we thank you that she healed as far as she did before this accident happened so that she can at least get up and walk. And, Lord, we just pray for supernatural strength for her, freedom from pain, and the ability, Father, to meet that need as he's just really unable to do much of anything for himself. Lord just thank you thank you thank you for saving his life and thank you father for bringing healing father we just want to pray today for Eric 87 yes his mom 84 year old mom's having a pacemaker installed July 15 Lord we pray that that surgery would go well the pacemaker would do the job it's supposed to do and and Lord, that she would know an even, steady, regular heart.

Father, we pray for Roger, WP7VCL, and his sister Candy, and the friend May, who are in Kenya. Lord, we pray for a successful ministry among the deaf there. Lord, give them physical health.

Give them physical strength. Father, give them spiritual encouragement, wisdom, insight, and understanding so that what they say is used by you for the salvation of the deaf. Lord, give the...

the translators' skill as they do the sign language, Lord, may there be clarity and comprehension in the communication to that medium of language. Father, I just thank you that Jalene got back from the board meeting. We want to trust that prayer was answered, that wisdom was provided, that peace and unity was achieved.

and that there was clear unified direction there. Father, we just want to pray today for Lowell. Lowell's wife passed away.

And Lord, I just pray for his peace. I pray for his comfort. Lord, I pray that he would just trust his wife into your hands and lord trust himself into your hands in this time of difficult crisis lord we just rejoice with george k2kjx and his wife sue not only had successful thyroid surgery but father you shepherded her through this crisis of of low calcium levels and she's able to be back home.

Lord, we know there's going to be some thyroid hormone regulation issues going forward. Father, may there be just accuracy in the prescribed dose of hormone replacement. therapy and Lord I pray that all of her systems would receive all the messages that they need father and I just ask for health strength and energy for Sue and Lord may her body be balanced And Father, may she know good health and good strength.

Father, we just want to thank you for your kindness in sustaining my pastor, Pastor Jeff Black. Father, they told him with the infusions that he's getting that he might see some results in six weeks. And so Lord, he's got a long dark road ahead of him.

I pray, Lord, that you would sustain his health. And, Lord, he's lost about 80 pounds of weight through this process. And, Father, we just ask that he would be able to receive food and digest it and have the nutrient needs of his body met.

Lord, just strengthen him. Father, I pray for Doc at W6RLJ. Lord, just heal his kidney.

Give the doctor's wisdom in managing his affairs, his physical, physiological affairs, Father. And I just pray that you would raise him up and return him to health. Father, he's been used to heal so many others.

And Lord, I pray that you would heal him now. Lord, we just pray for the dental clinic in Fiji, that Lord, it would be raised up, opened up. and be used as a lighthouse for the gospel there in Fiji.

Father, we continue to pray for Cody, K-I-7-C-R-F. His mom fell and broke her arm. And, Lord, I pray for the healing of her broken arm.

Pray for his father's bone cancer. Lord, I pray that you would put that cancer into remission. And Lord, I pray that his dad would know recovery from that illness.

Father, we want to pray for our brother Keith, WB7RKR. His sister Harriet had a stroke. We pray for her healing from that stroke and recovery of all of her bodily functions.

We pray for Keith, Lord. He fell and hurt his wrists and hands. Pray for the healing of his wrists and his hands.

Father, we continue to pray for Kevin, KB7's ex-daughter, daughter of Monta Rayo. Father, we pray that her gallstone surgery would be moved up and she would get released sooner rather than later. Amen.

Lord, we pray for Will, who has a PET scan tomorrow. Won't be with us tomorrow, Father, but we'll be with him, and you'll be with him in prayer. Lord, I just ask that the scan would accurately reveal his medical condition, and Lord, that the news would be good, and that, Lord, he would not have to receive any further medical W6GLB who has stage 4 cancer and is receiving immunotherapy Father, last we heard this was working well and he was getting good improvement and Lord I pray that that would continue on so that he would be declared to be cancer free Father we just want to pray for Mike W7TWO his sister Barbara Lord we pray for her salvation and Lord we just ask that you would cause her to see that she needs to be reconciled to you through faith in Jesus Father she professes that there's not much by way of fruit or interest in talking about the things of God.

So, Lord, I pray that she would know your saving grace in her life. Father, we just want to pray for Mike himself, for his healing from his polio and from his arthritis. Lord, I just pray that you take away the pain, especially in his hands and shoulders.

And, Lord, that his legs would work well. and that Lord he would know a surge of strength and mobility and freedom to be from you. Father, we pray for his brother-in-law Randy who needs healing to the wound in his foot.

Lord, he's diabetic and that's difficult. And Lord, we just ask that you would speed the healing in his foot. Lord.

We just want to pray for Al-KG7QQH and his son John who had another cancer treatment. Lord, we pray for his recovery from that treatment. And, Lord, we pray for complete recovery from the cancer.

And, Lord, we want to pray today for Padme. Lord, Jeff told us about the conflict. that she had with her husband and with him.

Lord, I pray that you would convict her of her sin. I pray that you would bring her to sorrow and repentance and contrition over the dishonor and disrespect that she showed to her husband and that she showed to Jeff, and her hostility towards effort, ministry, and encouragement. Lord, I just pray that you would subdue this woman's rebellious spirit and her contentious spirit And Father, she might know humility, contrition, and reverence for her husband and respect for those who are attempting to minister on behalf of the Lord.

Father, we just thank you for Christy WXZDO who checked in today. And Lord, we just pray for your blessing on her life as well. And now, Lord, we just want to thank you for your goodness and your mercy and your grace to each one of us and for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, in whom we trust for the forgiveness of our sins and whom we love to serve and proclaim to others.

We look forward, Father, to his coming. and for us being with him forever around the throne of God in heaven. Until that day, Father, help us to be faithful and walk with you in humility and in gratitude and in zeal as we see the kingdom built and Christ glorified.

There's something about Jeff, his way of putting things can really penetrate deep. And my heart goes out to that encounter. It just sent shivers in my being.

And I appreciate your prayers and response. Thank you, Max. And my heart goes out to Jeff and this dear husband.

Wow. Anyway, Jeff has a way of putting things, doesn't he, over here? Yeah, I copy that.

Well, this is spiritual warfare. And, Roger, I know that you've experienced it as well. I remember one time I preached out of James chapter 2, faith without works is dead, right?

And I was leading a youth group in a church at that point in time, and there was a bunch of those young people that professed faith in Jesus, but they were living terrible lives, you know? drunkenness fornication drug use all the all the things that young people are prone to and the pastor the church asked me to preach one Sunday so I thought okay I'm gonna preach out of James chapter 2 faith without works of dead and I talked about the fact that if we have genuine saving faith in Jesus that's gonna produce in our lives a love for him, a desire to serve him. And we're going to put feet to our face, and we're going to demonstrate the genuineness of our faith by living lives of obedience to Jesus.

So I preached this sermon, right? And I didn't name any names, I didn't point out any age category or anything else. But boy, after the service, this old guy marches up to me and just read me the riot act.

How dare I cause these young people to doubt their salvation? And just ate me alive. And I didn't say anything, I just stood there and listened.

And when he got done, you know, he turns on his heel and he walks away. But it's like, how dare I preach the Word of God that tells us that, you know, genuine faith is accompanied by good works, as it says in Ephesians 2:8, 9, and 10. And so, yeah, you know, from time to time we will have people just blast us for faithful service to Jesus Christ.

That's the voice of Satan speaking through those people. You remember that when Jesus in Matthew chapter 16 said, "Who do men say that I am?" And Peter said, "Well, you're the Christ, the Son of the living God." And Jesus commended him for that. And then you recall he gave him the keys to the kingdom.

And then immediately after that, Jesus says, I'm going to Jerusalem, and I'm going to be crucified, and I'm going to die, and I'm going to raise the third day. And it says, and Peter took Jesus and began to rebuke him and said to him, Lord, this will surely not happen to thee. And you remember what Jesus said?

He said, get thee behind me safe. You savor not the things which be of God, but the things which be of men. And so here is Peter, who is clearly a saved man, and yet voicing Satan's perspective towards the Lord Jesus.

And Jesus is very close in dealing with him. And he says, no, you know, you are not speaking from God's perspective. You're speaking God's.

from Satan's perspective, and you need to stop it. And, you know, that's what this woman, Patman, was doing. She was speaking from Satan's perspective.

And, you know, she needs to be rebuked by somebody somehow, somewhere. that she's misrepresenting the Lord Jesus. She's misrepresenting God's will and God's kingdom.

And she's most of all misrepresenting God's servants and trying to act like they've done something evil when they haven't, just like that guy was saying, I was doing something evil when I wasn't. I was just preaching James chapter 2. So yeah, Roger, this happens.

And when it happens, we need to recognize it for what it is. This voice coming out of this person, not that they're demons or vests or anything else, but they just have lost perspective and they're speaking out of human wisdom. and they're speaking out of a sinful, carnal attitude, and of course that represents a sinful attitude.

So, you know, in serving God, we're going to be attacked most of all by the professing people of God who think they're doing the right thing when in fact they're completely out of touch. with what the right thing is. Back to you then, Roger.

Does that make sense? Yeah, we're certainly getting more and more pushback dealing with topics that deal with Romans 1 in that area. And speaking the scripture as you did in James chapter 2.

that our lives are supposed to be in Christ. That's Alistair's new series he started this morning. I mean, it's just, there's a definite war out there.

But I just... Yeah, I just really appreciated your prayer in the context of Jeff's unnerving. And prayers for Jeff too as he recovers from the PTSD experience.

Over. Yeah, copy that. And you know, spiritual warfare does really tear you up.

you know, it's something that, yeah, PTSD in the spiritual realm, yep, that happens, and the way we fix that, make that trauma, that's Jesus, we lay it at his feet, and we let it go, and I can't tell you how much healing Jesus has done to me, and, you know, Jesus, spiritual warfare that's gone on and the bloat and the flames. But I don't want to imply that it's all negative. A ton of people have really blessed me with encouragement and with support and all of that.

I'm not going to say that it's okay. And Roger, I know you can look back and say, yeah, there were these terrible months, but there was all this gigantic blessing. And what a privilege and honor it is to serve.

One loose for me on the back. But we have victory, and praise God for those. We need to keep perspective that whatever these hostilities are, you know, they're temporary.

They're doomed to defeat because, you know, Christ is going to win in every single one of these situations. So that's the encouragement we have. So let us close, Roger, with a note of Psalm 3 and verse 8.

Salvation belongs to the Lord. Thy blessing is upon thy people. Think about that.

And so that's where we're going to wind up on all of this, and that's the perspective we need to maintain. Back to you, Roger. Yeah, for sure.

for sure we have a taste of what it's like to be a prophet and to claim that you have a message from the Lord and you know and Nathan Nathan took the risk of being killed by an impulsive king. And fortunately, the Spirit of God melted his heart with that wonderful parable. I mean, that's what I say, wonderful and impulsive.

I mean, it was a powerful parable. And then let us know with Jeremiah faith. the politically incorrect experience to surrender to the Babylonians as the disciplinarians of God's people.
