all right. Okay, Brian, well, listen, you can't sleep, you hear? That's an order from net control.

All right, we got Brian, KJ7 PWM, who runs two businesses at the same time, both full-time. All right, Brian, good to have you with us. All right, any other check-ins?

Please come down. Kilo Mike 5 Foxtrot. And there is Will.

Kilo Mike 5 Foxtrot. Will, good to hear your voice. How are you doing, brother?

Well, I'm doing okay. We had a long trip, a good time. And every wedding has to have a little problem.

The gal... has MF, so she was in a wheelchair. And her dress got caught up in the wheel, kind of pulled her to the side.

So that was their unfortunate event for the time. But it was a beautiful wedding with two beautiful people. And Carla came by this.

Well, that's kind of exciting. Yeah, the bride is in a wheelchair and her dress got caught in the wheel as she was going up the aisle. I guess they just have to pick up the chair and carry her up to the front.

That is kind of tragic and funny all at the same time, but well, glad you made it there, made it back, had a safe trip. And it's sure good to hear your voice. Glad to have you with us.

All right, that's Will, KM5F. All right, any other check-ins, please come down. Thank you.

All right, the net would like to acknowledge Gene, K7GWR. Good morning, Gene. See you there on the Utah SDR, and good to have you with us.

That's Gene, K7. GWR. All right.

Any other check-ins, please? Come now.. .

Thank you. Good morning, WB7VZL. And good morning, Roger, WB7VZL.

How are you doing today? I'm doing very well. You're 30 over 9.

Yeah, the band is great today. We're picking everybody up just fine, no worries. We just need to keep this band 365 days a year, right?

Well, yeah, we're not in ham radio heaven yet, huh? Not yet, not yet. Okay.

Hey, Roger, I need you to do some reading for me. Can you do Job chapter 24? I'm sure I can.

A quote that meant quite a bit as I was studying ahead from this Zonderman book. But anyway, I want to think about the tie-in here. Over.

No worries. We're going to do 22, 23, and 24 today. It's going to be a marathon of readings.

And so we're going to get started on that. But we'll certainly make time for your comments, so no worries on that. Okay, Roger, thank you for that.

We got you checked in. Any prior requests there, Roger? Just the ones -- I wanted to kind of modify David.

David gets along with his mother, but it's the older brother that has moved in with his mother that's the person that's involved with the estate. He's adopted, so he has very high standards for his mother's environment, but things along with four dogs, has deteriorated things. So, in a way, he's just torn by changes in the domestic setting for his mother.

So, copy that. Okay, that's a lot clearer. Yeah, four dogs can be a major problem, for sure.

I'm all for dogs, but four gets a little excessive. All right, real good. Thank you for that modification.

And I took note of that, and I will modify the prayer request accordingly. Thank you for that. Okay, anything else, Roger?

uh just uh praise the lord that jaylene's got her sleep but sleep machine adjusted so that she's sleeping better that's a big one yeah good praise the lord for that yep there's a passage in the bible that says so he give us his beloved sleep and um just a fragment of a verse that's always stuck in my head. It's like, Lord, give me sleep. And praise the Lord for doing that for her.

All right, good, Roger, thanks. Okay, we're going to get started with the West Coast Bible Study. Any last-minute check-in, please come now.

All right, we're going to get started with the West Coast Bible Study. We're going to be reading three chapters today, 22, 23, and 24. And...

Anyway, the reason for that is because in 22 we have the statement of Eliphaz the Temanite, and then we have two chapters of Job's response. It's all kind of a single thought unit, so we're going to cover that. The more we hear from God, the better.

It's unusual to cover three chapters in one day, but we're going to just go ahead and Alright, before we get started we want to open in prayer. Jeff, AK6OK, if you could open in prayer for us today, we'd appreciate that. Thank you, Max, and very good morning to everybody.

AK6OK, Lord, thank you so much for meeting us here at the roundtable this morning. It's an absolutely gorgeous day here in California. and pray the Lord that you will help us to observe these three chapters all in one day.

Some of this is kind of hard to understand, but we'll get through it. And thank you so much for all the healing going on in this group. I've been listening here, and there's a lot of good news going on around here.

Lord, please lift those up who have not been healed up yet. Let's get them to the front of the line. Thank you, Lord, in your precious name.

Amen. Amen. Thank you so much for that.

I appreciate that. All right. Let's go ahead and start with our reading.

Jerry, AE70R, if you could read to us Job chapter 22. Go ahead. Jim Ellifer is a Gemini responder.

He had a vigorous mind of youth's thoughts. for a wise man to use this himself is a real pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous for profit is to make your own state because of your brethren that you receive did he ever then reject It is not your wickedness, pray, gave you inequity without Ed, who you have taken pleasure man naked. To the woman you have given no water to drink, and from the food in the hunger you have with her bread.

But the earth belongs to the mighty man, and the honorable man dwells in it. You have sent widows away emptied. and the strength of the ocean has been caught.

Therefore, snarling around you, and sudden red terrifies you, or darkness, so that you cannot see, and an abundance of water abounds. covers me. Does not God in the heights of heaven look also at the distant times how high they are?

You say, what does God know? You think it. Can you judge the kickness of darkness.

Clouds are hiding places for him that he cannot see. He walks on the wall of heaven. Will you keep to the innocent path which wicked men have tried?

Who was cast away upon time? Whose foundations were wiped away by rivers? Who said to God, "Give hope to me"?

And what cannot the Almighty do to them? Yet He filled their houses with good things. But the counsel of the wicked is false on earth.

The righteous see and are glad, and the innocent mock them. They entirely are adversaries and set off. And in abundance the sire has been saved.

Hail now! and be at peace with him. Hereby good is come to you.

Please receive instruction from his mouth, and establish his words in your hearts. You return, and I, Almighty, will be restored, if you remove unrighteousness far from your tents, and place your gold in the dust. and you will go to the pulpit among the stones of good.

Then the Almighty will be humbled and truly filled with peace. And then you will feel light in the Almighty and lift up your things to God. You will pray to Him and He will hear you.

And you pray... you will pray and you vow. You also decree a thing, and it will be established for you, and light will shine on your way.

When you are cast down, you will seek the confidence, and your humble person, he will say, he will deliver one who is not innocent, and he will be delivered to the twine ring out of your hand. Back to you, going next up is 238 East 7th Yard. - Back out, Alpha 5 Yankee, go ahead.

- From the New King James Version, good morning everyone. The Job answered and said, "Even today my complaint is bitter." My hand is luscious because of my groaning. Oh, that I knew where I might find him, that I might come to his seat.

I would present my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments. I would know the words which he would answer me and understand what he would say to me. Would he contend with me and his great power?

No. But he would take note of me. Bear the upright reason with him, and I would be delivered forever from my judge.

Look, I go forward, but he is not there, and backward, and I cannot perceive him. When he works on the left hand, I cannot behold him. When he turns the right hand, I cannot see him.

But he knows the way that I take. When he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps.

I have kept his way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

But he is unique, and who can make him change? And whatever his soul desires that he does. For he performs what is appointed for me, and many such things are with him.

Therefore I am terrified of his presence. When I consider this, I am afraid of him. For God made my heart weak, and the Almighty terrifies me, because I was not cut off from the presence of darkness, and he did not hide deep darkness from my face.

Back to Max. Jack, Alpha 5 Yankee, thank you. Roger, WB7VCL, read chapter 24, please.

Thank you. WB7, this is Al, reading the New American Standard Bible. Why are times not stored up by the Almighty, and why do those who know him not see his ways or his days?

Some remove the landmarks, they seize and devour flocks. They drive away the monkeys of the orphans. They take the widow's ox for a pledge.

They push the needy aside from the road. The poor of the land are made to hide themselves altogether. Behold, as...

Wild donkeys in the wilderness, they go forth seeking food, and their activity is bread for their children in the desert. They harvest their fodder in the field, and they glean the vineyard of the wicked. They spend the night naked without clothing.

and have no covering against the cold. They are wet with the mountain rains, and they hug the rock for want of a shelter. Others snatch the orphans from the breast, and against the poor they take a pledge.

They cause the poor to go about naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaves from the hungry. Within the walls they produce oil, they tread winepresses, but thirst from the city men groan, and the souls of the wounded cry out, yet God does not pay attention to folly. Verse 13.

Others have been with those who rebel against the light. They do not want to know its ways nor abide in its paths. The murderer arises at dawn.

He kills the poor and the needy, and at night he is a thief. And the eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye will see me, and he disguises his face. In the dark they dig into houses.

They shut themselves up by day. They do not know the light. For the morning is the same to him as thick darkness, for he is familiar with the terrors of thick darkness.

Verse 18. They are insignificant on the surface of the water. Their portion is cursed on the ground.

They do not turn toward the vineyards. Drought and heat consume snow waters. So does shoal those who have sinned.

A mother will forget him. The worm feeds sweetly till he is remembered no more. The wickedness will be broken like a tree.

He wrongs the barren woman. He does no good for the widow. But he drags off the valiant by his power.

He rises, but no one has assurance of life. He provides them with security, and they are supported, and his eyes are on their ways. They are exalted a little while, then they are gone.

For all this, they are brought low, and like everything gathered up, even like the heads of grain, they are cut off. Now, if it is not so, who can prove me a liar and make my speech worthless? That brings us to the end of the chapter.

And back to you, Max. This is WB7VZL. All right, Roger.

Real good. And Beck and Jerry, thank you for that reading. Kind of a long section there, but it's important to capture all of that as a single thought.

in discussion. Okay, so we've got the accusations of Eliphaz, the Temanite, to start out with. Any comments on Chapter 22?

Please come down to the call sign. ZXN. Kevin, KB7ZXN, go ahead.

Well, again, I'll get the ball rolling. Well, a couple of just quick points here. One, Eliphaz, just consider him for a moment, if you would, in his name, a Tenenite.

Well, he was the daughter of Tenen. And Tenen was the daughter of Eliphaz, another Eliphaz, who was the son of Esau. who was the son of Abraham.

And so here we can see a clear patriarchal connection, I believe, to Abraham, where we can see, understand, begin to understand why there is an understanding of some of the principles of the worship of God and the principles of how wickedness will not prevail ultimately. But as we see here, they're misapplied. Eliphaz and Job's other two friends that are attacking him and condemning him are misapplying this principle of retribution.

in a gross way. And now Eliphaz has elevated that, those accusations. If he can't make his case with substantiated evidence, well, he's just going to make it up.

So we see here now for a couple chapters that Eliphaz is just manufacturing accusations, manufacturing evidence that does not exist. to try to justify his attacks of Job, which, as we know, will not stand. KB7 is at example.

Yeah, Kevin, thank you for that. You're exactly right. He's manufacturing accusations.

You know, there's an old saying, if you throw enough mud against the wall, something will stick. And of course that's an evil philosophy, but the idea is if you throw out enough accusations, something will turn up and turn out to be that which we can use to destroy the person that we're making accusations against. And people will believe one thing or another.

And you know, you can really see that in verse 5 of chapter 22, where he says, "Is not thy wickedness great, and thine iniquities infinite?" And then he starts listing a whole bunch of things that he's accusing job of doing uh stealing clothing not giving water and breaking people's bones crushing widows uh all these horrible things uh and then he accuses job of thinking that god can't see what's going on and um And so there in verse 12, in verse 13, verse 13, And thou sayest, How doth God know? And can he judge through the dark clouds? And so he's saying, Job, you're wicked.

You've done all these horrible things. And you think that God doesn't see it, but God does see it. Now, there is one wonderful verse.

In all of this nonsense of chapter 22 that Eliphaz utters, And the wonderful verse is verse 21. Verse 21 says, And if you just take that verse out of its context, which, you know, I'm not recommending that, but standing by itself... It is a true statement that if we do acquaint ourselves with God, that is, we come into a right relationship with him by confession of sin and by faith in Jesus as our Savior, then we will be at peace with God and good will come to us.

things like eternal life and the indwelling spirit of God and, you know, being adopted into the family and having God work all things together for our good, even the bad things. So, you know, this one nugget kind of shines out amongst all this garbage that he's throwing out. And, you know, I mean, it is true.

No one can hide from God. That's a true statement. The problem, of course, is he thought Job was trying to do that.

Well, so, as you said, Kevin, these are manufactured accusations unsubstantiated by any evidence. And, you know, we need to be careful that when people tell us things about other people, it may not be true. And so he that answers the matter before he hears it, to him it is a shame and folly, and it's really important for us to make sure that we don't just take other people's negative statements about other folks at face value, but to do an investigation ourselves to make sure that those things are in fact valid.

All right, Kevin, great comment. Thanks for opening with that. All right, any other comments on these three chapters, please come down.

Roger, WB7VZL, you had a comment of some kind. Well, I don't know if the contact is... I don't know if we're there.

I think it's on Chapter 23, and you're opening it up to comment on 23. Let me pause. Go ahead, somebody else here.

All right, yeah. So just wanted to start out with 22, get that out of the way. Of course, if anybody has further comments on 22, by all means, come with him.

But what we got here is a bunch of lies and false accusations. And, you know, because when he says here in verse 21, Then he has this big, long list of all the things God's going to do for him. It's just not the way it is.

Our Lord Jesus was better acquainted with God than anyone else, and yet look at what happened to Him. So it's like, you're wicked, these are all the wickednesses you have done, you need to repent of your wickedness, if you do, here's all the blessings that will come. You know, there's elements of truth in some of that.

If we do evil, we're going to have bad outcomes in the long term. And if we do good, we're going to have good outcomes in the long term. But there are a lot of variations in God's providence that seem to be contradictory to what we think ought to be there or should or would be there.

And that's what these guys aren't able to wrap their brains around. So Joe Finn gives his response there in Chapter 23. Hey, Roger, let's go ahead and open up 23, and you go ahead with your comment, over.

Roger that, Xen, real quick. Yeah, I'm not quite ready here. Okay, I think I heard Kevin's voice out there.

KB7, ZXN, go ahead. Yeah, KB7, ZXN, boy, the band's kind of leaving us here, but SDRs are still working for now. Yeah, I just wanted to make the point here, too.

in 22 that not only is he manufacturing these these this false evidence and accusation but he's he's really hitting below the belt he's he's accusing job of some of the most heinous and worse crimes a person can commit, especially in this time of the Middle East, if you will, and even for us today to pray and exploit and harm the most vulnerable among us. You know, the... the widows, the impoverished, the maimed, he's accusing him of really just the most lowly of crimes against humanity.

And the level of that attack is even more, essentially more the outrageousness of Eliphaz's attack on Job. KB7 is that example. yeah thank you for that appreciate that okay uh anybody else have any comments on uh 22 23 or 24 please come down with your comment well verse number 10 in 23 is the key verse and i heard that from wb7max go ahead and talk on that one Yeah, for sure.

Verse 10, but he knoweth the way that I take, and when he has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. And so here we have Job rising in faith to a proper perspective on his situation. This is really the key verse to the whole book.

It explains what's going on, why it's going on, and what the outcome is going to be. And so what's happening here is character formation. What's happening here is the achievement of growth in godliness and in humility and in Christlikeness.

And, you know, it's just like... a blacksmith. He heats the metal up in the furnace before he can shape it into what he wants it to be.

And so God heats us in the furnace of affliction, makes us malleable, humble, teachable, spiritually minded. And then through that process, he shapes us into what we should be. And in fact, we have a very parallel verse to this verse in 1 Peter chapter 1.

And he says about afflictions in 1 Peter chapter 1, he's talking about the salvation that we have. He says in verse 6 of 1 Peter 1, 6, When you greatly rejoice... Though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold temptation, that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

So Peter is talking about these fiery trials. And he says the purpose of them is to purify you, it's to mature you, and it's to make you into a better instrument in the service and worship of God than you ever were before. So Job, in chapter 22 and in verse 10...

says the same thing that Peter says in 1 Peter 1, verses 6 and 7. So we need to have this perspective ourselves, right? When you are going through whatever circumstances God has appointed in your life, what you can say is, God knows the path I'm on.

He's testing me and putting me through trials and afflictions and difficulties in that path. The end result and his intention is that I would come forth as gold. And, of course, gold is the most valuable metal, the most beautiful metal, and the most durable metal.

That's why we use it for wedding rings. And so to have that golden character only comes through the forge of afflictions. Job recognized that.

We need to recognize that and realize God's intentions are not to harm us, even though we go through a lot of pain. His intentions are to purify us and to make us into something more beautiful and useful than we could have ever been before. Back to you there, Roger.

Yeah, thank you so much for that parallel passage here as well. And we're really getting warm to the passage. And that really makes some of these comments relevant that this author He wrote this book in the late 50s, H.L.

Ellison, and the book is From Tragedy to Triumph, Job, The Study of Job, From Tragedy to Triumph. And this, as I was walking yesterday with this book, I really focused in on 13:14:15, kind of the end of this chapter, verse 13: "But he is unique, and who can turn him, and what his soul desires, and what he does?" for he performs what is appointed for me and many such decrees are with him therefore I would be dismayed at his presence when I consider I am terrified of him it is God who has made my heart faint and the Almighty who has dismayed me but I am not silenced by the darkness, nor deep gloom which he covers me. So with this, in light of this chapter, he says this.

I thought it just kind of was kind of an unusual take. as I was reading and when I was walking here. And he makes this comment, For those who from their childhood have known God only as seen in the face of Jesus Christ, it is hard to realize to what extent the Incarnation has made God more humanly comprehensible to us, and how, for this very reason, the gospel is such a stumbling block to both Judaism and Islam.

But this very comprehensibility constantly leads us into a hopelessly superficial outlook on life around us and on God's ways with it. And then he talks further. He says, There are not a few who assure us that it is comparatively easy to come to the throne of God and to talk things out with Him, and so to obtain complete clarity on our own problems and often on those of others.

Some claim to be able to do this by a correct use of the Scriptures, others by a technique of prayer or listening, yet others by due attention to "the inner light." I do not want to seem to deny the strong element of truth of this, but it is a most serious exaggeration. Even our Lord on the Cross cried out, "My God, My God, why? Dot, dot, dot, question mark.

I'll just stop it there. Anyway, it just was kind of an outstanding revelation as I was walking of his comments about the end verses of chapter 23. Over.

Yeah. You know, superficiality and superficial views of God is the mother of all heresies. You know, God is not like us.

And his ways are not our ways, his thoughts are not our thoughts. And so as we experience the providences of God in our lives, we're puzzled by a lot of things. And as we read the Bible and we see how God is working out his plan and program in various people's lives, We think, well, why is he doing that?

And this is where humility befits us. Who are we to think that we can sit in judgment on what God chooses to do or not do in any circumstance and situation? And so we tend to want to be like Job.

It's like, God, I want to have a discussion with you, and I want you to clarify what's going on here. I want you to explain all this to me. Well, you know, God has not called to the bar of our examination.

This is like a courtroom where we have subpoena power, and we can demand that God show up and provide some answers. This is of a citizen before a sovereign. it's a subject before it's king.

And, you know, our job is to simply abound, accept, and worship. And his job is to run the universe as he sees fit. And that makes a lot of people really angry because they want to be sovereign, they want to be in control, and they want to have everything make perfect sense to them.

And Job says here in chapter 23, in verse 3, Oh, that I knew where I might find him, that I might come even to his seat or to his throne. I would order my cause before him and fill my mouth with arguments. I would know the words which he would answer me and understand what he would say to me.

And so Job has this desire, but then he starts to reflect and he says, You know, no, it doesn't work that way. The way it works is that He does as He sees fit. I'm not in a position to dispute with Him.

I can't even see Him. I look ahead, I look behind, I look to the right, I look to the left. Who am I really to be questioning God?

And then he draws this conclusion in verse 10. He knows the way that I take, and when he's tried me, I shall come forth as gold. And that's enough.

As long as we know that, we know enough. And then we can trust God with the parts that we don't know. So, yeah, Roger, thank you.

I appreciate those comments. Back to you, Roger. Any further comments you want to make before we move on?

Go ahead. Yeah, thank you so much for that sweep of this chapter. I really appreciated that, Max.

Over here. Alright, real good. Okay, anybody else have comments on Chapter 23 or 24 or 22 as far as that goes?

Come ahead with your call sign. 8K6O, okay. Okay, I think I heard Kevin, but Jeff, we'll go first with you and then Kevin, we'll get back to you.

Go ahead, Jeff. You know, it's interesting, Max, if you read these chapters, isn't this the way that the world looks at believers? Kind of the same thing.

We're looking at very much a parallel situation here, over. Yeah. Yeah, exactly right.

And, you know, the wisdom of God is foolishness with man. They look at us and they think you guys are nuts. And we look at them and we say, you're nuts.

You're going to live independent of God and think you're going to have a good outcome on the day of judgment? And so, you know, the world is foolishness to us and we're foolishness to them. And, you know, we're living really in two separate universes.

You know, we're living in the kingdom of light. They're living in the kingdom of darkness. Their frame of reference is entirely different than ours.

Their perceptions of what reality is are entirely different than ours. And you know, it's like we're standing on opposite edges of the Grand Canyon, right? And we're hollering across to them, you know, "Come over here to this side." They're saying, "Ha!

No, you guys are nuts. Come over to our side. We have all the fun." And we just have to live with that.

We're not going to make everybody happy and everybody's not going to understand for sure. And so, yeah, back to you there, Joe. Yeah, it's amazing.

They all, you know, here's the other part, and this is where Satan comes in. They have a very, very good knowledge of who God is at the same time. We're criticizing Joe over it.

That's right, yeah. Here these guys are, and they're ready to pounce on Job. And you know, it's sad, Jeff, to me, that the vast majority of the false accusations that we get come from fellow professing Christians.

And of course, because of their immaturity, because of their pride, because of their self-importance, They think they're in a position to pass judgment and cast aspersions and make wild statements. And you know, we just have to not let that turn us against Christianity. You know, it's what I say to people all the time, Jeff.

You know, people will disappoint you, but God never will. And you're not called to believe in people and their godliness and maturity is the grounds of your faith. But rather you're called to look to Jesus Because he's perfect And he's the object of our faith And don't let people who claim to represent him Discourage you from following him Because they do such a poor job of it So we've got to keep our focus on things above Alright, I think I heard Kevin in there KB7ZXN Kevin, you had a comment Go ahead, please Yeah, KB7ZXN Let me turn things down Well, you know, the New Testament specifically points to Job as the model for the suffering church.

And kind of... DEMONSTRATES THE SUFFERING THAT WILL TAKE PLACE OF THE SAINTS. AND IN JAMES 5:11 HE TALKS ABOUT, "AS YOU KNOW, BLESSED ARE THOSE THAT PERSEVERE." AND THEN HE SAID, "YOU'VE HEARD OF JOB WHO WAS PERSECUTED." AND BUT YOU KNOW THE FINAL OUTCOME AND GOD IS FULL OF COMPASSION AND MERCY.

BUT WE SEE HERE TOO I THINK THROUGH JOB IS GOD'S GRACE AT WORK. you know one of the accusations of the devil is to attack man and and say hey people follow you god only it's just transactional if you bless them if you if you you know give them things uh of course they're going to worship you but really job is the model that that supersedes all of that and speaks to the power of God's grace and God's love because it is his grace that gives us a love and now we have the blessing of the spirit of God within us to help us persevere and that that that grace causes us no matter what we face that suffering does not necessarily just come from retribution from evil which there is going to be eternal suffering there it may not be temporal but there's going to be eternal judgment there but the but the temporal suffering that we might face now, we see the churches, as you kind of observed, we see this today. This is, you know, you hear these accusations and good called evil.

And how many times do you hear Christians called everything but good and accused of everything under the sun and perverted, twisted accusations with no foundation? And, you know, and so... Job clearly is the model of the suffering church as is presented in the New Testament.

But as with Job, God's grace has instilled in him a faith that is unshakable. And he knows that God knows his heart, and he does persevere. And what a...

What an example for us as we've seen, you know, as I look back through church history and the suffering and the torture and the things that have taken place, I am so humbled and just pray that I would have that person even this very day. As we've pointed to in Nigeria, but also in China and other parts of the Middle East and around the world, areas of Africa and other continents, Christians are attacked. But, you know, God gives us that grace and that faith.

when we are saved. And that is deeper than any suffering that we might endure here and now. KB7, is that accepted?

Yeah, Kevin, thank you for pointing out that passage in James. That's James 5, verses 10 and 11. I take my brethren, the prophets...

who have spoken in the name of the Lord for an example of suffering, affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endured. You have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the Lord.

The Lord is very pitiful. and full of tender mercy. So thanks for pointing out that passage.

And yes, Job is a model of the suffering church. And he's also an example of the unshakable faith that that suffering church has in the face of those sufferings. Great points there, Kevin.

I appreciate that. Well, we're running out of time here. I just want to make a brief comment on Chapter 24.

And the idea here is it's just a long description of the behavior of the wicked and some of the things that they experience, the variations. Some are blessed, some are cursed. And so Job is saying at the end of chapter 24, verse 25, be not so now, who will make me a liar and make my speech worth nothing?

And so Job is just saying throwing into the face of those who are accusing him the fact that, number one, the accusations aren't true. Number two, they completely misunderstand God's providential dealings with the wicked. And over and over again, he points out that this isn't just simple vending machine cause and effect.

There is greater complexity here, and so you need to understand that there isn't just one explanation for suffering. And so, you know, Job says here in verse 11 of chapter 23, he says, My foot has held his steps. His ways have I kept and not declined.

Verse 12, neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips. I've esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. You know, Job is not only proclaiming his innocence.

here, but he's talking about his orientation around the Word of God. And whatever Word of God he has, his God is more important than his food. And you know, here we are in the West Coast Public Studies, starting the day not with food, but with the Word of God.

And I think it's really important for us to give that kind of priority to the scriptures in our life. That the Bible is more important to me than my food that I eat. And if I have a choice between reading the Bible and eating food and don't have time for both, I'm going to read my Bible and skip the food.

And that's the kind of priority that scriptures need to have in our life. And when they do, you know, there's a spiritual peace and prosperity and balance in our thinking and in our inner man that just transcends the chaos of... of our circumstances, which is oftentimes so inexplicable.

There we go. All right, we are out of time. Are there any prayer requests before I leave you in prayer?

Please come down with your prayer request. Comment. comment go ahead yeah i just wanted to say max your last description of job is the first temptation of jesus would he go for god's word it is written or command the stones to turn to bread thank you yeah amen thanks for pointing that out you have Jesus could eat or he could obey the Word of God and he chose to obey the Word of God and not eat all right thank you Roger any other prayer requests please come now all right let's go to prayer our kind and gracious father we pray today in light of our scripture passage that you would help us to endure the false accusations that people bring against us.

Father, our own consciences tell us when we're wrong. The scriptures tell us when we're wrong. And we embrace that.

But, Father, sometimes people are right and sometimes they're wrong about the assessments they make of us. And, Lord, I just pray that you would bring us peace in the face of false accusations. We see that our Lord Jesus was inundated with false accusations, always a glutton and a winebibber.

And say we not well that thou hast a demon. and so many other false accusations. He's making himself a king.

He's trying to overthrow Caesar. And then we read of our dear Apostle Paul, Father, and the slanders that were heaped against him and how he was grieved to have to answer and rebuke all of those false accusations. So, Lord, help us to realize that Jesus, THERE'S GOING TO BE ELLIFASES AND BILDADS AND ZOPHARS IN OUR LIVES, AND LORD, JUST HELP US TO KEEP OUR FOCUS ON YOU, KEEP A BIBLICAL AND BALANCED UNDERSTANDING OF THE FACT THAT, YES, WE'RE SINNERS, BUT WE'RE NOT GUILTY OF THAT PARTICULAR SIN THAT'S BEING LODGED AGAINST US.

AND SO, FATHER, WE JUST PRAY THAT YOU WOULD, AS YOU TAKE US THROUGH THESE FURNICES OF AFFLICTION, that, Lord, we would come out as gold and that, Lord, you would make us better people afterward than we were before. Father, we now have a bunch of requests that we want to bring to your attention today. We pray for Glenn's wife, Vicki, who's in lots of pain.

Father, we pray for freedom from pain for her until then.

Lord, we just pray that you would help her to endure with patience until the medical relief can be provided. Lord, we pray for Philip, for James Philip, N7IU. that you would resolve that tumor behind his eye.

Father, you can practice to remove that, or you can use surgical methods, and Lord, if it's inoperable, Father, we just trust you for why you allowed this to come and for the remedy that you have for him. Lord, cast James into your hands and ask you to look on him, Father, and have compassion towards him. Father, we just pray for...

David Roche, father of his brother, has a domestic conflict with his mother. And Lord, I pray that that would be resolved. That that brother would have some humility, sensitivity, and a servant attitude towards his mother.

And Lord, David's concern about his mother being treated right by David's brother. And I just ask, Father, that that whole situation would... be resolved in a way that brings blessing as a David's mom father we pray for Haley and Nadine and Caitlin Lord they all need salvation the Lord I pray that you have mercy on each of them Lord was this one off you pray for Anthony and Miley getting safely back to their home after their extended road trip.

Lord, we continue to pray for Dr. W6RLJ. Help the doctors to figure out not only what the problem is with his kidneys, but a remedy for them.

Lord, I just pray that as he bounces around the hospital, the hospital and the specialists, that Lord, you would provide answers and you would provide hope. Lord, we just pray for the missionary work there on Fiji that it would go forward, Lord, and pray for good reports to come out of there regarding that. Lord, thank you for our brother, Jim, who uses his social contacts at the retirement home for sharing the gospel.

All right, this is WB7MAX, Net Control from the West Coast Bible Study. I want to thank all the stations who checked in today, as well as those who stood by to give us a clear operating frequency. We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m.

in order to read the Scriptures, understand their meeting message and application, and then pray for grace and mercy to be able to live out what we learned and for God to meet the needs of those that are in our circle of fellowship. I'll be returning this frequency now to regular amateur use. This is WB7MX.

I'll be clear and standing by. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee with this morning's show. All right, Beck, go ahead.

What did the triangle say to the circle? What did the triangle say to the circle? What is the triangle say to the circle?

Wow, any any any answers out there? Go ahead. Go ahead back.

Oh, there's Dave, KE7WKI. Dave had just glanced over at the Utah SDR, and there you are. Dave, thanks for being with us.

Sure appreciate that. I know sometimes you check in late and I don't pick you up as soon as you pop in there, but thanks for being there, Dave. Appreciate you, brother.

All right, anyone else want to chat? Go ahead. WB70ZL, thank you, Beth.

Hey, no problem. My pleasure. Yeah, and just wanted to give you a heads-up for prayer.

Kandy and May, I believe, I'll give you an update, I think they're taking off sometime this weekend to go to Kenya for a major youth rally. and also for building that house for faculty for the BLAS, for the deaf school. Anyway, I'll give you a more definite itinerary, Max, over.

Yeah, I copy that. I appreciate that. I wrote down what you said and I'll wait for more details.

Thank you for that. We'll add that to the fair list for sure. Yeah, I copy that.

It sure does. There's lots of risks. that you're in the hands of a foreign government and in the hands of a culture and people who may not like you very well.

So you're just really waiting on the angels of God to surround you and protect you while you're there. It takes a lot of faith and trust, don't it? Definitely.

You want to have strong faith to do something like that. Comment? Comment.

Yeah, with my bald head, I felt like I was a light bulb, and not in the sense of the I felt like I was a marked person among the culture in Kenya, and that I was so grateful for our trusted family friends who were the natives. and who could speak on my behalf and knew the tribal languages, over. Yeah, for sure, because you stand out, everybody takes notice of you, and then you wonder, well, what's their attitude towards me?

Are they going to kill me and cook me for dinner, or are they going to invite me over and serve me dinner? You never know, because you don't know how they think, and you can't understand their language, over. Jay, comment?

Yeah, Quahili, of course, is the overlapping language between the tribes. And it's sure nice to have a mediator over. Yeah, Beck, come forward with your comment.

Don't forget, in some cases you could be the dinner. Yeah, exactly right, yep. Okay, real good.

Yeah, Swahili. Well, I don't know anything about that language. Is it commonly spoken around the world, or is it just kind of the language of Kenya, over?

Well, it overlaps. beyond Kenya, but it's the... You know, I'm seeking it kind of out of my knowledge base, but I believe Swahili would work in Uganda and...

Ethiopia and you know you can work around I'd have to ask my wife who of course is still enjoying her sleeper too so at any rate I just believe that I did die I did not, when I went out, I went with my friends who were my mediator between the outer society. And, you know, I just didn't feel like I could be presumptuous by any means. All right.

Yeah, copy that. Well, good. Caution and exercising some prudence, you know, goes a long way in those kind of situations.

So glad you had people there that could represent you to the culture and represent the culture to you. What a blessing to have folks like that. All right, real good, Roger.

This house that Candy and me are going to be involved in building, who is that for? Over. Yeah, the kids, they love it here.

The kids' overseers, the principal and the teachers, they have to go back and forth. And in the case of the principal, he's having to rent a house. And he hasn't, you know, been there for a while.

He wasn't even with his family. That was what Trump had made, to say, "We gotta keep this family together." And this is way out of line. She was the main person to say we've got to have some faculty houses on the campus, don't we?

Copy that. Okay, understood. That makes perfect sense that they need to have a residence there that they can dwell in while they're teaching schools.

I assume that the school go year round there, Roger, or they do like nine months on, three months off like we do, over? Well, it's surprising how many students are orphaned because of their deafness. I mean, they're not wanted.

They're a good percentage. I think they're getting a percentage. Kind of like a school orphanage for some of it.

Yeah, copy that. So they need care 12 months out of the year. Okay, understood.

Yep. So that's just where they live then. So do the students have housing of some kind they live in, over?

Yeah, they have quite a significant barracks and And when we were there, we were making sure they had enough water for fairly significant showers and bathroom facilities so they could flush the toilet, et cetera, having basic hygiene. But most of the water comes from the roof during the rainy season. So they have these big plastic storage tanks that are...

just all throughout the country. Over. Yeah, copy that.

It's the same way down on the Caribbean islands, except what they do there is they excavate huge underground tanks in the rock. So they'll have 100,000-gallon cisterns over the top of which their home is built. And so they keep their metal roofs and gutter systems in really good repair because, you know, when it rains over there, it'll rain two inches in an hour, and it just dumps the water into the gutters and down into the cistern, and then that's the water that they use to get through the dry season and all of that.

So I understand about the rainwater being the only source of water Is there no water underground, or is it just too expensive to drill wells, or what's the situation there, over? I think your last comment is probably for knowing how little money they have. I think it's just cheaper to...

collected when it comes down than when it's already soaked into the ground, over. Yeah, copy that. Well, if they've got rain that's frequent enough, rain catchment is a great method of

========== ### Scripture Reading (KJV)

**Job 22:5, 12, 13, 21, 22:10, 23:10, 23:13, 23:14, 23:15, 23:3, 23:10, 24:11, 24:12, 24:25**

5 Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite? 12 Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are! 13 And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud? 21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. 10 If they say not, Where is God my maker? who giveth songs in the night? 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. 13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. 14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him. 15 Therefore was I troubled at his presence: when I considered, I was afraid of him. 3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. 11 They cause the ass of the fatherless to fail, and take away the ox of the widow. 12 They cause the lame to turn out of the way, and the poor of the land doth he rob. 25 And he shall give thee the desire of thine heart.

### Study Summary

The Bible study focused on passages from the book of Job, specifically Job 22 and 24, and included a discussion on the importance of not taking unsubstantiated accusations at face value. The study began with the reading of Job 22, where Eliphaz the Temanite accuses Job of great wickedness and iniquities, questioning how God could know or judge through the dark cloud. The group discussed the misapplication of the retribution principle and the manufacturing of unsubstantiated accusations. Eliphaz's counsel to Job to return to the Almighty and be restored was seen as a call to repentance and restoration (Job 22:21).

Moving on to Job 23, the group focused on Job's response to Eliphaz, emphasizing his faith in God's knowledge of his path and his belief that after being tried, he would emerge like refined gold (Job 23:10). This was paralleled with 1 Peter 1:6-7, which speaks of the refining process of faith through trials. The discussion highlighted the role of trials in character formation and faith, emphasizing that through these trials, believers can grow in their faith and character.

Job 24 was then discussed, with a focus on the behavior of the wicked and Job's assertion of his innocence. The group noted Job's unwavering faith in God's grace and his orientation around God's Word. This section also served as a reminder of Job's model of faith and perseverance, even in the face of false accusations and hardships.

The application and reflection portion of the study underscored the importance of prioritizing the Word of God in daily life and enduring false accusations while maintaining faith in God. The group discussed Jesus' example of choosing to obey God's Word over physical needs during his temptation in the wilderness.

The study concluded with prayer requests for various individuals and situations, including healing, financial issues, and missionary work. The group also prayed for peace in conflict zones, political leaders, and for children and grandchildren to receive salvation. Additionally, they prayed for missionary work in Kenya and for Candy and May's trip to Kenya, including the need for faculty housing and rainwater collection systems.

The study emphasized the importance of not taking unsubstantiated accusations at face value, the role of trials in character formation and faith, and the need to prioritize the Word of God in daily life. Participants were encouraged to continue reading and applying the Scriptures, and to maintain their faith in God even in the face of adversity. ==========
