Thank you. Artist WV7MAX, neck control for the west. Do we have any more check-ins this morning?
Please come down to your call sign. N7BK, I want to wish you a happy anniversary. I'm sorry I didn't do it earlier.
Yeah, Jim, thank you. Appreciate that. And we had a great anniversary and thankful to the Lord for 51 years.
And appreciate the well wishes, Jim, N7BKE. Appreciate you too, brother. Yeah, we were married 67 years on the 3rd of August, and she died on the 7th.
So we just made it a little past our 67th anniversary, N7BKE. 67 years is a good run Jim, so praise the Lord for that. Alright, real good.
Doesn't get any better than that. God was good to you guys. Alright, WB7MAX looking for check-ins, please come down.
Thank you. Well, good morning, Carol. KK7TPO.
How you doing? All right. Copy that.
No prior requests. Happy to be here. And copy is just about done.

All right. Eric is helping me out with the logging. I really appreciate that a lot.
Okay. Any other check-ins this morning? Please come down to the call center.
AK6, okay. I drops are in, and I'm ready to rock. Okay.
Good, good, good. Glad to hear that. Okay, good, Jeff.
All right, any other check-ins, please come down. And happy anniversary, my man. Thank you for that, yeah.
It's been a good run. Really grateful to God. All right, any other check-ins, West Coast Power Study, please come down.
Thank you. All right, yes. Oh, wow, the time got away from me.
I just now glanced at the clock. It is 13:04, otherwise known as 6:04, our time. So we are going to get started with the West Coast Bible Study.
I haven't heard from Roger, WB7VZL. Kind of let him be my clock for me when he checks in. I know it's about time.
Anyway, Roger ran the net yesterday. Thank you, Roger, for that. And I appreciate you being there.
And thank you all for filling in for me while I was gone. Okay. Jeff, AK6OK...
I am going to be gone this month on the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th. I'll be back in New Jersey teaching a seminary class at North Bergen Theological Seminary there. Um...
And so I was going to tap you to do neck control for me. Do you think you could do that 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th? I'm sure the BEC would be glad to help you out with the STR check-in, so I think you'd see all that anyway.
Jeff, can I twist your arm to do that for me, please? I believe I can do that. I'm going to have to check my calendar, but I don't think I have anything.
I'm sure it's fine at this time of the morning. So, yes, sign me up. Okay, good.
Thank you for that. Okay, so I'll be flying out early in the morning on the 17th, so I won't be able to make it as net control then. So that's Wednesday the 17th, Thursday the 18th, Friday the 19th, and Saturday the 20th.
And so I will be back on the 21st. So anyway, I'll keep you apprised of that as time goes on. But in any event, yeah, that's about a week and a half from now.
So, all right, thank you for covering for me. I really appreciate that. It's been scheduled a long time, but I just knew you were going through your eye surgery and stuff.
I'm glad to hear you can see well and you've got a strong station. So anyway, I appreciate you doing that. Okay, that's Jeff, AK6.
All right, any final check-ins before we get started with the Bible study? Please come now. All right, we're going to get started.
We are in the book of Job, chapter 15, and we have finished the first cycle. All right. of discussion between Job and his three friends, Bildad, Eliphaz, and Zophar.
And basically each of them spoke to Job after his initial lamentation in chapter 3 about his condition and situation. All three of them basically accused him of the same thing, and that is you're having troubles because you've got hidden sin in your life against God. God's punishing you for your sins.
If you would just repent, God would forgive you and restore your health and your situation. And Job responds to each of them and says, no. That's not what's going on here.
This is something else. Stop falsely accusing me of sin that I'm not guilty of and provide a different answer. And since they didn't and since they couldn't, he made this remarkable statement in chapter 13 in verses 4 and 5 where he says, But you are forgers of lies, you are all physicians of no value.
Oh, that you would all together hold your peace, and it should be your wisdom. Well... is basically being real firm with them that they are not providing any answers.
So now we come to the second round of discussion. We come back to Eliphaz again and then Zodad and then Zophar. And they're going to say their piece and Job is going to answer each of them again.
So... that's where we're at in our Bible study. Before we read chapter 15, I'd like to ask Beck, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee.
Beck, if you would open a prayer for us today, please go ahead. Sure, let us come to the Lord in prayer. Dear God, thank you for your goodness and blessings over us and for everybody having a safe trip to and fro from CPAC and...
those that are going to be there today and continue home, including people that are traveling as far as I know of as Montana. And I know a group of four men that are doing so. We thank you for everything that you've done for us in our lives on a daily basis.
And we pray that we keep our eyes set on you and our Bible study today and fill us with your peace, joy, and love. Thank you. In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen. Well, there's quite the opening. Should he reason with unprofitable talk or with speeches wherewith he can do no good, yea, thou castest off fear and restrainest prayer before God, for thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity.
and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty. Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I. Yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
Art thou the first man that was born? Or wast thou made before the hill? Hast thou heard the secret of God?
And dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself? What knowest thou? that we know not.
What understandest thou which is not in us? With us are both the gray-headed and very aged men, much elder than thy fathers. Are the consolations of God small with thee?
Is there any secret thing with thee? Why doth thine heart carry thee away? And what do thine eyes wink at?
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth. What is man? That he should be clean.
And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous. Behold, he putteth no trust in his faith. Yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water. I will show thee. hear me and that which I have seen I will declare which wise men have told from their fathers and have not hidden under whom alone the earth was given and no stranger passed among them the wicked man travaileth with pain all his days and the number of years and hidden to the oppression a dreadful sound is in his ears in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword. He wanders abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid. They shall prevail against him as a king ready to do the battle. For he stretcheth out his hand against God and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
He runneth upon him, even upon his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers, because he covereth his face with his fatness and maketh callous of fat on his flanks. And he dwelleth in desolate cities and in the houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heathen. He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.
He shall not depart out of darkness, the flame shall dry up his branches. and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away. Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity, for vanity shall be his recompense.
It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green. He shall shake off his unripe grapes as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive. For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
They conceive mischief and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit. All right, that is Job chapter 15 out of the King James Version. Any comments on this section?
Please come down to the call line. AK6 OK. AK6 OK.
Jeff, please go ahead. You know, Ella Fass and the others, they're all talking exactly the same way. And it's so interesting to see because every one of them is convinced that Joe has got to have done something wrong.
And the way they frame this makes them try to tell everybody else that they're good, that they've done no evil themselves. However, that's quite not the case. yeah for sure um and you know the the arrogance that they're exhibiting here in the face of job's denial is is quite breathtaking um basically you know what you really see is this condescending superior uh arrogant attitude towards job and basically he's accusing him right out of the gate of being vain in his speech, unprofitable in his talk, not having any fear of God, speaking iniquity, being crafty in his speech.
Those are terrible accusations. And then he goes on here, Jeff, and he says, you know, we are the aged. Notice verse 10.
With us are both the gray-headed and the very aged men, much elder than thy father. And so they pull the old authority card. We're older than you, so you need to listen to us.
Well, you know, it's true that the gray head is a crown of glory if it be found in the way of righteousness. But it's also true that there's no fool like an old fool. And so unless a person has been accumulating wisdom and humility...
and knowledge and experience and has used those things to actually gain maturity, all time does is make them dumber and dumber as they double down on foolish courses of action and foolish patterns of thinking. So, yeah, Jeff, this is... Quite amazing to me that these guys who claim to be so wise and so experienced and so knowledgeable can't say, "No, wait a second." You know, all three of us have brought this same line of reasoning.
Job has rejected it every time. Maybe we need to rethink this. Let's explore some other options.
they don't have the wisdom to do that even though they claim to be the wise folk. So yeah, the attitude here, Jeff, of these guys is quite amazing. Back to you there, Jeff.
Yeah, and you talking about this, It reminds me of something else. When the Lord picked Job and said, "Why don't you try out my servant Job?" Not only did God know that Job wouldn't cave in, but Job could handle all of the criticism of these friends as well. And I'm sure in the end it will all be proven out.
Yeah, that's right. You know, God tests those severely who he trusts the deepest. And, you know, when we're weak, God doesn't put very big trials in front of us.
You know, it's the strong that he puts great trials on because he knows they're able to bear it. And you're right, it wasn't just the loss of all of his animals and all of his children and his health, it was also the loss of his friends. Now, you know, Jeff, I think these three guys are saved.
I think they are genuine Christians. But I think we can see here, and I think Kevin brought this out the other day, that sometimes Satan uses other Christians in our lives to bring great discouragement to us. You remember that in, I think, Matthew chapter 18, where, no, I think it was 16, Matthew 16, where Jesus said to Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan, now savor's not the things which be of God, but the things which be of men.
because Peter was taking it upon himself to counsel Jesus and tell him he certainly wasn't going to go die on the cross. That couldn't possibly happen to somebody like him. And, you know, sadly, because Christians are immature, because Christians are susceptible to a certain degree of deception, they can sometimes be the mouthpiece for Satan himself and be an instrument of Satan's.
to attack other believers. Now, Peter certainly wasn't conscious of that. He was unwitting.
But he was immature. He lacked knowledge of God's redemptive plan and purpose and how that was going to work out in the life of Jesus. And he was a little bit full of himself because he just got done being told that...
you know, he was a rock and that the church was going to be built on the rock. And I think he was given the keys to the kingdom and all of that. And so I think however he understood all of that, he thought, man, I'm the man now.
I can even tell Jesus how it is. So, yeah, Jeff, what's hard is that not only did the ungodly, attack Job there in chapter 1. Not only did disease attack Job in chapter 2, but then his friends, his professing, believing friends attacked him.
And that is probably, you know, one of the hardest. I know for myself, you know, I expect the ungodly to hate me, but I don't know. What's really hard is we're Christians, we're professing Christians.
And in the judgment of charity, I believe they are Christians, but just sometimes unwitting agents of the evil world. Go ahead there, Jeff. Yeah, absolutely, Max.
You know, one other thing I was just thinking about is if we, if any of us were put in this situation, losing our animals, losing our family, all the rest, and then proceeded with this mass of the past 13 chapters or something, where would we step off the train, Matt? Yeah, and I think that we can be glad that God hasn't tested us to this point because we don't know if we would have been able to bear it or not. And that's the good news, is that God has promised us that he will not suffer us to be tested above that which we're able, but will, with the testing, provide a way of escape, that we may be able to bear it.
And there's the key phrase, able to bear it. And so, you know, when you're raising kids, right, when they're three or four, you might give them a challenge. But you certainly wouldn't give them the kind of challenge that you would give to a teenager, right?
Because they don't have the maturity. So you challenge them just enough so that you know they can handle it, but it's going to stretch them. And then as they grow up, the challenges become greater and greater.
You don't ask a four-year-old to do multiplication, you know, but you would ask a seven-year-old or an eight-year-old to start learning that. Where would we get off on this train if we were on it? Well, the reason we're not on it, Jeff, is because God knows we couldn't handle it.
Now, you've been on quite the train yourself, okay? You've gone through a lot of trials. And yet those trials were perfectly tailored for you.
and your maturity, your experience, your knowledge, the amount of grace and mercy that God has given to you. And that's why you made it through. And, you know, every one of us is tested to the limit of who we are.
And so in a sense, we can all say, well, we've gone through what Job has gone through in that we've been tested to the limits of our capacity. And God has sustained us and brought us through. Our faith has remained, even though sometimes we've been terribly disillusioned.
distressed with questioning what is God doing yet nevertheless we never turned our backs on God and we just kept on going so Jeff you stayed on the train and so therefore you passed the test just like Job did it's just that your test was different and if Job's test were your test then you would have had the grace to be able to handle that back to you Jeff Well, yes, and you know what's interesting about that, Max, is going through all this stuff, through cardiac arrest or cancer and all the treatments and everything, it was not hard for me. And it's not for any other reason than the Lord really blessed me through these times. When I went into radiation...
seven straight weeks of radiation every day. I got to the point where I was actually counting how many times I got shot with radiation in every day. I kept myself busy that way.
And, you know, I looked forward to coming home and getting in bed because I could hardly move. and watch him leave at the Beaver at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. God gave me this uncanny way of being okay with what was going on.
And when I went into this, I didn't have any idea what I was facing. But I knew God was good. And I knew he would get us through it and that he's not going to get us any more than we can handle.
And it's going through it that allows you to realize when you look backwards, you know what, I was so protected during those times. People came out of the woodwork to help me. I had a group of seven or eight guys that would pick me up every day and take me to radiation treatment and chemo.
I couldn't even tell you right now who those guys were, Max or... Yeah, right. And I'm so glad that you had that experience because you had a trust in God that somehow Joe really struggled with.
He didn't have that kind of peace. He was really... uncertain about what's going on but he also didn't have the amount of information we have either all right Jeff good talk with you the net would like to acknowledge and in 16 I Dan good to have you with us appreciate you being there and also Phil k6 HSV feel good to have you with us thank you for being there as well all right this WB 7 in the X does anyone else have comments on this passage that would like to make click from now to call All right, well, while you're thinking, let's talk for a minute about verses 14 through through 16.
This is an important passage that talks about the depravity of man, how the fall has affected us, the condition that we're in, and the depth from which we need to be saved. A lot of people don't like to own this statement as being true of them, but it's true of all of us. This is how we are born, and this is the condition that we are in.
So notice this true statement on the part of Eliphaz, the Temanite, chapter 15, and verse 14. He says, what is man that he should be clean, and he which is born of a woman that he should be righteous? Behold, he that is God puts no trust in his saints.
Yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. How much more abominable and filthy is man which drinketh iniquity like waters. Well, that's quite the statement of human depravity, isn't it?
And so when God looks on us as unsaved people, he sees us as abominable. He sees us as filthy. He sees us as unclean.
He sees us as filled with iniquity. And yet, in that condition, He set His love upon us. He sent His Son to save us.
And He washed us and cleansed us from that condition. And He gave us purity and holiness and justification. and redemption and adoption into his family as his children.
So I think it says in Psalm 42, don't quote me on that, David talks about being in a horrible pit. in the miry clay and God lifted him up out of that. The idea is he's in the bottom of a well where there's just nothing but mud and it's all dark and cold and clammy and wretched down there.
And God, as it were, reaches down into the depths of our depravity, lifts us up, affects us in the sunshine, sets our feet upon solid ground. and establishes our going. So anyway, I just want to remark on that description of the nature of fallen man, a condition that we're all in or were in before God saved us.
All right, any other comments on this passage? Please come down. Come on, wake up, you guys.
Maybe Kevin's trying to talk. Let me turn on the Utah SDR. Kevin, are you there?
Sounds like Kevin got off the mic. He probably had to go do something. All right.
Well, what we have here is Eliphaz continuing to try to intimidate Job into admitting that he's wrong. Now, we've all been in these situations, right, where we're falsely accused and we defend ourselves and people say, well, the fact that you're defending yourself shows that the accusations are true, which, of course, is ridiculous, but that's the kind of position that we are put in. I had a guy one time say, well, you know, you have all these problems.
And I said, what problems? I said, I don't know what you're talking about. He says, well, that just shows that you're unwilling to talk about your problems.
It's like, you know, you're wrong if you do and you're wrong if you don't. And, you know, what you realize when you're dealing with a person like that, it's a waste of time. This person is not here to help you, okay?
And I just want to say that if people are falsely accusing you, you don't have any obligation to say, oh, I'm so sorry, you know, please forgive me. Because when you do that, what you're doing is you're acquiescing to and participating in their lies. And if somebody's lying about you, we shouldn't want reconciliation and peace so badly that we're willing to buy into the lie in order to get it.
And so what we do is we have to understand that righteousness and peace have kissed each other. And so without righteousness, there can't be any real peace. And, you know, and that's why Job wouldn't cave in here.
He wanted justice, and rightly so. There's nothing wrong with wanting justice. And his friends weren't giving justice to him.
They were, in fact, perpetrating an injustice upon him. And so, as a result, he stood his ground. He refused to, quote, reconcile with them or, quote, ask forgiveness because he knew that it would have been a corrupt reconciliation and a fault of forgiveness because...
he would have been admitting to something wasn't true. So, you know, throughout your life, and I know throughout my life, I've had people accuse me of things that I didn't do, I didn't say, I didn't think. And so I've stood my ground, and I've said, "No, here's the facts, here's the truth, here's what happened, here's what I said, here's what I did." And if they can't embrace the truth and the reality about the situation, then, you know, we're just going to have to remain alienated from each other because you can't have a relationship of any value.
that is built on falsehood or that is built on a perversion of the truth. So I really admire Job for not ever abandoning justice in order to get relief. All right, any other comments on this passage?
Would you please come down? Max AK6, OK. Jeff, please wait.
How long does this banter go on? I have not read ahead. Over.
Say that again, Jeff. Yeah, how long did this back and forth go on in the books of Job, the chapters of Job? I have not read ahead.
Yeah, it goes on for 31 chapters, okay? So we completed the first cycle, chapters 4 to 14. And now we're in the second cycle, which covers chapter 15 to 21.
And then there's going to be a third cycle of chapters 22 to 31. You know, it's like, how long does this go on? A long time.
And you think, well, why does this keep going on and on and on? Well, what we're going to see is while there's no development in the argument, there is some new information that is brought out and some new principles. For example, today in church, I'm going to be preaching on Job 19, verse 25.
okay for I know that my Redeemer liveth and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth and though after my skin worms to the body yet in my flesh I shall be God so I'm gonna be preaching on Jesus as the great Redeemer in Joseph's understanding of that so you know Jeff in a way we can say my isn't this boring you know we're just getting the same stuff over and over again Which is true in a sense. We are getting the same stuff over and over again. But I'd also like to say God doesn't waste our time.
And if he saw fit to have 31 chapters of this discussion between Job and his three friends, then it's there for our profit and our benefit. So the bottom line is, all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and all scripture is profitable, and that includes these extended sections that sometimes we think, well, come on, let's move the story along. God fucked it, so let's really drag on for a long time.
And so I've learned to be content and patient because God has something additional there for us. Back to you there, Jeff. Yeah, you know, if we think about this, man excuse my voice this is a throne cancer coming through here but if you think about this what's interesting is the reason there's so many chapters going down this road is God wants to tell us something here what the heck is it well what it is is don't move don't move you know who I am you know what I'm about don't change your opinion I have a situation going on right now I was invited to do a TED Talk.
And I went through the conversation with the TED people, and they said, you know, your life is absolutely amazing. We'd love to have you share that on TED or TEDx. And I said, "Okay, what are the parameters here?" And they said, "Well, first of all, you can't mention God.
And you can't do anything that has anything to do with religion." And I very carefully wrote them back and said, "That isn't going to happen because this is a God story." I said, "If you don't mention God, This story means nothing. I think God's trying to point out here the same kind of a thing. Don't move.
Don't... They were telling me, for example, "Listen, if we just use math in your talk, and we talk about the unlikelihood that you would survive through all of this stuff. That would be a great TED Talk.
And that's where I have to draw the line. Over. Copy that, and good for you.
Yeah, the world works to shut us up about our faith and about God and about the role he plays in our lives and about our need for him. And I am really proud of you, Jeff, for taking that stand. You know, what an important stage that is and what vast exposure it would have given you.
And yet what a betrayal it would have been of your Savior to not give him the glory. for what he did in your life with all of the healing that he gave you and the grace that he gave you to sustain you through the process. So, yeah, you know, the world wants to bend us into their mold.
And, you know, it says, be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. And so they want to conform you. You didn't bend to that.
I am really glad. I'm really proud of you, Jeff, for taking the stand and saying, if you're not going to let me talk about my Savior, I'm not going to talk. Because that's who I am.
That's what defines me. For me to live is Christ. And so, therefore, if I'm going to talk about my life, I'm going to talk about Christ, because at the very core and center of it, it is the central organizing principle of all I think and all I do.
So, good decision there. And if they don't like it, they can go pound sand. Over.
That's kind of what I told him. I was a little... a little more diplomatic about it than that.
Yeah, I just decided, no, this is not going to happen. And it was not a hard decision at all. And you know what, you guys?
Here, I'm going to read something here. This is my response to them. Thank you for the explanation on that limitation.
My amazing experiences are self-explanatory, but they certainly include God. Under the circumstances that you've explained, my talk would be ineffective without limitations. and I will unfortunately have to decline.
I am grateful for the opportunity, but my story needs to be heard in its entirety, which includes the mighty grace of God. It's not about math at all. It's about grace.
Thank you. And so there you go. The Lord put that response together.
I had to really think about this and think, okay, Look, be sweet, but decline. Over. Yeah, well said, Jeff.
You did better than I would have done. I'm a little more blunt than that. But anyway, I appreciate you, brother, and I think your response was absolutely perfect.
It's exactly what needed to be said. You said it well. You said it diplomatically.
And good for you. All right, Jeff, thank you for that. Okay, anyone else want to make a comment on this passage?
Please come down to call site. By the way, Max, the band's just really tanked here. I can't hear you on my local radio at all.
I'm hosting you on Utah. Yeah, I copy that. Yeah, the band's going to pieces on us.
Well, why don't we go ahead and stop here? It's about time to stop. The Vintage Military Radio Network is going to come on right after us.
and so we will yield to them after, of course, Al prays for us. Are there any final comments or any prayer requests anybody wants to make? Please come now with your call sign.
KB7ZXN. Kevin, KB7ZXN, go ahead. Thank you, Max.

I was catching up on my sleep. Well, I'm glad you got some sleep. That is wonderful.
Thank you for running the net yesterday. I sure appreciate that. I was able to listen in.
And anyway, that was wonderful. Now, as I understand it, I think it was John, WB7WQK. had a death that was sudden and unexpected.
Is that correct, over? - That's the one I wanted to highlight. I've got one more too.
W7, yeah, WB7WQK. John has just been hit by the death of, what I kind of picked up was his best friend Mike. who is an auto mechanic to him, but more than that, a real precious friend to him.
Over. Copy that. Okay, so Al, KJ7QQH, let's pray for John WB7WQK, and his friend Mike suddenly died.
So let's pray for comfort for the family and for the consolations of the gospel to be brought home to John's heart. I appreciate that, Roger. You had a second request.
Go ahead. Yeah, we have a service for Rick, and he's our newest member. He has been riddled with alcoholism.
through much of his life. He just loved alcohol. But you know, God gave him enough of a brain to appreciate.
He wanted to be a preacher and yet his brain was still there to appreciate God and he gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized wanting to symbolize that. So He's kind of... We're going to plant him in the earth today and I'll be participating with some music for the service along with my friend Dan Felice, the pastor.
I just want to pray for him. And also David, David Rocha came over and he's got a domestic situation. just put it that way, a domestic situation with his mom that he wants -- I didn't ask him permission to pray for him, but he knows where he's been praying.
He's a year and a half sobriety from marijuana. And so -- but it's really been hitting him about how -- how A older brother came in and is taking care of his mom, and the taking care of his mom is not really taking care of his mom, so to speak. And there's some tension between he and his brother over the care of his mom, and it really is getting to him emotionally.
So, yeah, we want to lift him up in prayer, all right? Alright, thank you for that. Copy there, Al.
Copy that. Okay, I'll go ahead and close in prayer for us, and we need to be done at 6:50. Go ahead there, Al.
Thank you, Captain Mack. Good morning to everyone on the paddock. This is KV-17 from Lake Glitch.
Of course, we are in prayer. I want to thank you for this day and this lesson today. We're concerned that we're not able to be as complete as we need to be.
We're not new. It's been two days for a very little to no occasion. And we are also willing to thank you for your feedback and how you've helped us in our time of need.
And also thank you for your support of KMR. you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you
========== ### Scripture Reading (KJV)

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind? Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?

Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God. For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.

Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.

Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills? Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou limit his counsel?

Behold, thou art wise in thy own eyes: but there is madness in thy heart: yet I will shew thee, hear me.

Shall not the wrath of God be the cause of the hypocrisy? and his cry doth not come before him.

For he is as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.

And he saith, Am I not a man as thou art? and am not I a son of the same God?

Behold, I will shew thee; hear me: and that which I have seen will I declare;

Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it:

Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.

The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.

A sound of terror is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.

He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.

He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

Because he stretched not forth his hand to the poor; because he hath given none of his substance to the needy.

Shall his wealth remain, and not in his sight? and shall he not be brought down to the grave, and to the place of stones?

There shall the weary be at rest, and the labourer shall lie down.

If so be that he is not in the power of another; so that he is not subject to the ruler.

There shall he trust in God, though he hath made his house like a wilderness, and they shall call the house, None remaining.

He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.

Behold, this is the joy set before him: therefore he shall not be promoted in his days, neither have he any rest.

Because he oppressed the poor in his soul, he hath left the poor of his people to fail.

He hath said, I shall not shake: when all shall be at peace, I shall be made whole.

But he shall not be so: the just shall be held up; and he that is upright shall have the foundation.

But as for you, ye have upholden the weak hand, ye have not strengthened the feeble knees.

Ye are for helpers of the wicked, and ye have sinned against the just.

Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;

Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.

Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark?

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?

Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:

Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?

Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

The triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment.

Though he exalt himself as the beasts that are no more: they shall die in youth, and as the princes of yesterday.

But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Doth not the ear try words, even as the palate tasteth meat?

Let us hear the law and know wisdom together: let us hear the end of this also.

But if not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.

### Study Summary
The study centered on Job 15, where Eliphaz, one of Job's friends, delivers a harsh speech to Job, accusing him of unprofitable talk and a lack of fear of God. Eliphaz claims his wisdom and age give him authority to speak against Job, emphasizing the idea of human depravity and the fallen nature of man. The passage reflects a broader theme of accusations and defense, with Job's friends accusing him of sin and Job defending his innocence.
The discussion delved into the nature of God's testing, comparing Job's situation to other biblical examples, like Peter's rebuke by Jesus in Matthew 16:23. It was noted that while Job's friends were well-intentioned, their accusations were misguided, and Job's steadfast defense of his integrity was a testament to his faith.
Jeff, AK6OK, shared a personal testimony about overcoming cancer and a cardiac arrest with God's help, emphasizing the importance of standing firm in faith and not compromising truth, even in the face of false accusations. He also mentioned his decision to not participate in a TED Talk due to restrictions on mentioning God, further illustrating the challenge of standing for truth in a secular environment.
Max, WB7MAX, provided context on the structure of the book of Job, noting that the discussion between Job and his friends continues for 31 chapters, divided into three cycles. He encouraged the group to appreciate the full context of the narrative, understanding that every part serves a purpose in God's plan.
The study concluded with a reminder of the importance of not acquiescing to false accusations and standing firm in faith. The group also reflected on God's purpose in testing and the need for perseverance in faith. Prayer requests were offered for James Phillips (N7IU) and his wife Marilyn, John WB7WQK and his friend Mike, and for Rick's service and David's domestic situation. The study closed with a prayer of thanks and support from Al, KJ7QQH. ==========
