All right, that's Will, KM5F. KG6J. KG6J, go ahead, Jerry.

Yeah, Roger. I could discern a YL voice down in the noise, but I couldn't get anything else. Back to you.

Yeah, well, if that's a young lady, then that is probably Carol KK7TPO, because she's the one who checks in real faithfully here. Anyway, appreciate that relay, Jerry, and any relays, thanks for passing those along. I really appreciate those a lot.

Okay, any other check-ins, please come down. 5 Yankee. 5 Yankee, go ahead.

5 Yankee. Where's Carol located? She's in northern Washington, I believe.

I'd have to check on QRZ. Let's see if we've got something here. Yeah, she's in Everson, Washington.

So wherever that is, I'm not sure what the location is. Go ahead. Copy that.

Will you get yourself dried off, brother, and I got you checked in. All right, any other check-ins, please come down. All right, Danette would like to acknowledge Keith, K7NEB.

Good morning, Keith. See you there on the Utah SDR. Let's see, who else do we have?

All right, I got Keel Mic 5 Foxtrot listening, and he's on his way to Spokane to have a... wedding today? No, it's a Tacoma.

Right, he said it's a Tacoma area. Okay. All right.

And, Will, we got that pretty fast. Let's check over here on Half Moon Bay just a second. Let's see.

We've got Dan in 16. I already checked in. Yeah, so we're all caught up on our SDRs.

All right, we're going to start the Bible study today. We are in Job chapter 11 and chapter 12. We're going to try to read both those chapters today.

And Beck, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, if you could read for us, I'd appreciate that. I'm going to have you read chapter 11, and then I'll go ahead and read chapter 12. But before we get started, we want to talk a little bit about this section.

And basically we're in this, now listening to this third individual. Remember there were people who came to comfort Job. There's actually four.

But these three are the main characters, Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar. We hear from each of them three times. And then we hear Job's reply to each of them.

So Job's having to do a lot of talking because it's really three against one, if you will. It's sad that it's against, but that's kind of the way it is. These guys are all accusing Job of sin, and if he would just repent of his sin, then his problems would go away and God would smile on him once again.

And then, of course, Job responds to each of them. And in the process, they say a lot of true things, It's just that Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar are misapplying those things to the man to whom they're talking. Their counsel may be completely appropriate in different circumstances, but it's certainly not in this one.

And you know, there's a verse in the Bible that says, "He that answers a matter before he hears it, to him it is a shame and a folly." That's in Proverbs. And so what happens is when people start jumping to conclusions and they don't have all the information, they can come to some really wrong conclusions about what's going on and then make some really wrong statements about what is happening. And so it befits us all to be swift to hear.

and slow to speak. And that twisty here means take time to get all of the facts. Do some inquiries instead of making proclamations.

One of the things that I found helpful in my counseling is just to gather adequate information. ask a lot of questions. You know, could it be?

Or did this happen? Or is this what you're thinking? Or, you know, something along that line.

So you're gathering information. It's only after you're reasonably sure that you've got all the facts, all the parties that are involved, that you then can say, okay, well, I think that this may be the way forward in your situation. So anyway, these guys were too quick to jump to conclusions without having all of the information.

And, of course, sometimes we can't have all the information, right? these guys weren't privy to what was going on between God and Satan. And so in those kind of situations where we realize there's something going on here that I don't understand, it's okay to say, I don't know.

I don't have any counsel for you. All I know is I'm going to pray for wisdom. I'm here to support you, and I'm going to go through this with you and bear your burden and so fulfill the law of Christ, as it says in Galatians chapter 6.

So anyway, that's what's going on here. Before we get started, we want to open our time together in prayer. And so...

Let's see. Ed is on his trip today. So let's see.

Eric, KD7ES. Eric, could you open in prayer for us today, please? Yeah, no problem.

Our dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day, and we are just honored and blessed to pull up a chair around the table to study your word and to gain insight into your word. Lord, we just ask that you give us eyes to see and ears to hear what you may have for us today. And Lord, I pray that the word falls on good soil and is prosperous.

And we just thank you. We know that your word will not return void, but it will come back and it will be multiplied. And we just thank you for your word.

And we thank you for this day. And we give the glory and the praise. In Jesus' name, amen.

KD7WBB alright let's see let's get started with our scripture reading we are in the book of Job chapter 11 and so Beck Alfalfa 5 Yankee is going to read Job chapter 11 and then I will go ahead and read chapter 12 go ahead there Beck I'll palpify Yankee on New King James Version. Then so far the nemesite answered and said, "Should not the multitude of words be answered? And should a man full of talk be vindicated?

Should your empty talk make men hold their peace?" into whose hand God bringeth abundantly. But ask now the beast, and they shall teach thee, and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee. Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee, and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

Who knoweth not in all these things that the hand of the Lord hath lost it, in whose hand is the soul of every living thing and the breath of all mankind. Does not the ear try words and the mouth taste his meat? Would the ancient his wisdom and in length of days understand him?

With him is wisdom and strength. He hath counsel and understanding. Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again.

He shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening. Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up. He also sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

With him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are his. He leadeth counselors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a belt. He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty. He removeth away the speech of the trustee, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.

He forthcontempts upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighties. He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death. He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them.

He enlargeth the nations, and straighteneth them again. He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth. and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

They grope in the dark without light, and he makes them to stagger like a drunken man. All right, that is the end of chapter 12. Now Job's answer goes on into chapter 13 and chapter 14.

So very long answer this time from Job to his friend Job. And God willing, tomorrow, Roger and Beck will be dealing with those two chapters. In any event, here we are, chapter 11, chapter 12, the accusations of Zophar, the answer of Job.

Any comments on this passage, please come now to call time. But when I went to chapter 12, just in case we went to chapter 12, I was reading about how the first six verses are the perception of those that see a person who is losing it because there was no one that had such great stature as Job as we see in the first part of the book and now it's because of his state of being they they they really view him as a joke, as he says in verse 4. I am a joke to my friend.

So he is intelligent enough, even in his suffering, to know what, unfortunately, human beings do when somebody is losing it. And we can tell Job hasn't lost it, but the perception out there that he has lost it all. Yeah, exactly.

And, you know, Job at this point is really exasperated. You know, verse 2, No doubt, but that ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you. And it's like, you know, he's really mocking his three friends as they think they are the deposit of all wisdom.

And, boy, when they die, wisdom is going to leave the earth because they've got it all and nobody else has got any, is the idea there. And, you know, you really, this verse has been quoted in our household more than once. When they're discussing people who think they know and, in fact, they don't know at all.

And so it befits us to be humble. And Job is saying to these guys, you don't have any humility. And then he says in verse 3, I have understanding as well as you.

I'm not inferior to you. Yea, who knows not such things as these? And so the point is, he's saying, look it, quit treating me like I'm a little kid, that I needed to be lectured as though I'm completely ignorant of God's justice and how God operates in his ordinary dealings with people.

This is not ordinary. This is extraordinary. And so you're not telling me anything I don't already know, he's saying.

It's just that you're wrong because you don't understand the facts. You're accusing me of sin. I am not guilty of that.

And so verse 4, I am as one mocked by his neighbor who calls upon God. then they have lost status. He has no status now with those that he used to have, you know.

So God has turned away from him, so... And what we're going to see there is that we have the new perspective of LSU, but that's clear for Chapter 32. So we have these three cycles.

And, of course, when we get to the end of Chapter 14, Job's answer here, he covers 12, 13, and 14. unto perfection. And, you know, that is a wonderful verse, standing by itself.

And basically what it's saying is that God is infinite, God is transcendent, God is, in the final analysis, incomprehensible, in that we cannot wrap our brains fully around who he is, what he is, and have a complete understanding of God. There's always going to be mystery is what I'm trying to say. And so, you know, we can't find out God.

God has to come to us and reveal himself to us. And that's what he's done in the scriptures. If you have a man without a Bible, and he's going to figure out God, it isn't going to happen.

Yeah, you can understand some things from conscience, that he has a moral code. You can understand some things from creation. even his eternal power and Godhead, his wisdom.

But that's about it. And there's so much more about God that we only know by divine revelation. And so you have people trying to figure out a religion or trying to come up with an understanding of who God is.

Another one grabs the ear and says, you know, an elephant is like a big flat table. Another one grabs the trunk and says, oh, an elephant is like a hose. Well, none of them see the whole picture, right?

And that's the way that we understand a part of God through natural revelation. But without divine revelation, we'll never find out God. But praise the Lord.

God has brought to us his revelations. mean you lose your your ability to think to function to work and to do everything else but in the context of the uh the text here in the bible uses uh even our lord uses uh those analogies sometimes and uh but frankly it's not helped uh those of us who are blind but i you know we see here And it's like, well, wait a minute, wait a minute, let's take a look at this. And, you know, those that are seeking truth and understanding, I think, will take the time to consider the facts.

But Zophar is not one of those that would appear. And we see that this speech, along with the other two, God does ultimately condemn. Job's again speech, he does say he spoke right of me.

So this is really a master class in what not to do, how not to respond. As you pointed out, Max, there's so many times that we don't have all the facts. We don't have a full understanding.

We can see the results or we can see the fallout of circumstances. But we really don't know sometimes what is behind the cause there in that circumstance. And Zophar really is a really blatant example of what not to do.

Don't be so presumptuous that you think you can survive. speak for God with condemnation to facts you don't understand. KB7 is that acceptable?

Yeah, well said, Kevin. You know, we can speak with confidence where God speaks, but where God is silent, then we need to be very, very careful about what we say. For example, I can say with confidence, thou shalt not steal, right?

Because the Word of God says that. And so if I see somebody stealing, I can say with confidence, you shouldn't do that. That's wrong.

Stop that. And why can I say that? I mean, who am I, right?

Well, I'm nobody. I don't have any authority. But God's Word is clear, and God does have authority.

And so as long as we are speaking what God says, then we can speak with confidence. However, in this situation, God isn't speaking. He's not revealing what's going on here.

And that's when we have to exercise humility. And as you said, Kevin... Zophar is just like way out of hand here.

He's accusing Job of lying. He said, verse 3, "Should thy lies make men hold their peace?" I mean, imagine counseling somebody, not knowing all the facts, jumping to a conclusion and then calling your counselee a liar because he's not agreeing with your conclusion. That's about the worst course of action you can possibly take.

And so the presumption that's here, the arrogance that's here, that he would speak where God is silent, or presume to know when revelation hasn't been given, that's where the problem lies. And you know, as a counselor, and I've counseled hundreds and hundreds of people through the You know, one of the things I've always said is this. Well, if what you're telling me is true, then X, Y, Z.

And I'm not saying what you're not saying is true, but I always say, you know, given the facts that I've been provided with, well, then this is the course of action. I remember counseling with a guy once. And I was actually the counselee.

And I laid out a set of facts to him, and I asked his advice based on the set of facts I laid out to him. And he gave me his advice. And his advice was excellent, given the facts I gave him.

Then after I hung up, I got to thinking. And I thought, you know what? I didn't tell him about this.

And had he known that, I think his advice would have been different. And so I didn't say, you know, well, he's Batman or whatever. He didn't have all the information because I didn't give it to him.

My fault, right? And so as a result, I wound up not following his advice. and doing something different because I realized, okay, his advice was based on the information he had, and without full information, he couldn't give sound advice.

Well, you know, I've been on the other side of that table many times, knowing I don't have all the facts here, but based on the facts I do have, I can say X, Y, Z, but it may be A, B, C if there's things I don't know about. So I think that that's kind of the position we have to take. And then, of course, even if we have all the facts, we may not know all the biblical principles that apply to that set of facts, just because of our own ignorance, lack of education, lack of experience, lack of theological knowledge.

And so there's that, too. So, humility befits us. Kevin, thank you for pointing that out.

And let's take that into consideration and be swift to hear and slow to speak when it comes to making pronouncements about what God may or may not be doing. based on providences that are unfolding. All right, other comments, please come now.

WB7V, hello, sorry. Roger, please go ahead. Maybe you should have been in the courtroom, Max.

All right. I'm sorry, I double with you. I should have been in the courtroom what?

Please repeat your statement. Well, of course, the courtroom is a place where the facts are supposed to be revealed. And that is so significant what you said about...

your experience about what happens when you don't, that you haven't shared all the facts. And of course, it seems like the contest between the prosecutor and the defense attorney is to hold their cards in such a way that their client gets the benefit, you know, as much as possible. But I just wanted to, I was extrapolating in in what you were saying about the fact between divine revelation and natural revelation.

And when we see natural revelation without the concept of the fall... and in the Protestant sense, the deep, deep fall of man and the resulting chaos and the collateral damage. If you do not accept the fall, it's lighter than in the Roman Catholic theology, but the Protestant fall is so deep that it makes a huge difference in how you conclude...

the significance of the, well, the atonement, for example. But you can see where evolution has an advantage when people don't know the Bible story of the fall, over. Yeah, that's for sure.

And, you know, that's the whole problem with Pelagianism, which is a historical term about a theological movement that said that, you know, man is born a blank slate. and then they are what they are by environmental shaping. Well, the Bible is real clear.

We're born in sin. We're born fallen and depraved and darkened, alienated from God and in the kingdom of darkness. And it's the nature of that fall that we're in a state of total inability, and unless God intervenes, There's no way we can save ourselves or even come to a knowledge of salvation.

So it's good to know that God has revealed Himself and that He's provided a Savior in the person of Jesus Christ. And that if we repent of our sins and trust in Jesus to save us from our sins, then we can know God. You know, we don't search out God.

God searches out us. And he finds us. He brings us his Bible.

He brings us his son. He brings us the Holy Spirit. He brings regeneration.

He brings preachers of the gospel to convey the message to us. There's a statement here, Roger, I think it's really pertinent to you. Chapter 11 and verse 6, it says, And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is.

Now, here it is. Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less. But he's assuming, of course, as you said, that Job is telling a lie, over?

Yeah, I copy that. Right. Well, you know, there's another verse here I want to look at because we are fast running out of time.

And that is, let's look at verse 6 of chapter 12. Chapter 12, verse 6, it says that the tabernacles are the dwelling places of robbers. or you allow to come to pass in our lives through other agents.

Lord, we just humble ourselves before you, recognizing that, number one, the judge of the earth does right, and number two, we can't by searching find out God. So, Father, we just submit ourselves to the word of God and what it teaches us about who you are and how you operate. and the fact that many times you do not explain yourself, nor do you need to, nor do we have the right to demand out of you that you should or ought.

For you are God, and we are not only finite creatures, but fallen creatures. And so, Father, we confess that humility begets us. We trust, even though we don't understand, knowing that the wisdom and you have promised us that your thoughts towards us are not thoughts of condemnation or cruelty but they're the thoughts of a father who loves and cares for his children and as a father puts them through challenges so that they can grow to the next step and father we see this as that We thank you that through suffering Jesus was made and brought to maturity as a man, and so we can't expect to not experience those things ourselves.

So help us to just double down on humility and patience and trust and faith. and delving into the scriptures to find in them comfort and wisdom to know how to respond. And Lord, we thank you that in the end it's all going to make sense.

It's all going to work out. But until then, we only have partial knowledge and partial understanding. So help us to express humility in relationship to those things.

Father, I pray that we would be careful about passing judgment on others and what you're doing in their life based on the providences we observe. Father, we just want to pray today for our brother Jeff, AK6OK. Lord, thank you so much for the fact that he's getting cataract surgery today at 11th.

Lord, I pray that that would go really well and that you would be pleased to restore his vision. Father, many of us have gone through that, and Lord, we're grateful for that. I pray that Patty would just be able to help him understand that process, and she's gone through it herself.

And also, Father, we thank you for the good recovery that Jerry... has had Al, KJ7KH's wife. And my recovery has been spectacular.

Father, thank you for that. Lord, I just pray that you would be with my pastor, Pastor Jeff Black. Father, his...

The colonoscopy yesterday was successful, but it revealed badly, badly, severely inflamed large intestine. Lord, I just pray that the prednisone he's been given will work, the inflammation will go down, and she will stay. his large intestine from having to be removed.

Lord, I just pray that you have mercy on him and on me. It looks like I'll be preaching for the next couple of months in church because he's unable. So, Father, give me wisdom in preaching as well.

Father, I just pray that Pastor Jeff would have the peace that passes all understanding, that he'd really be able to trust himself into your hands as he's going through this Job-like experience. Father, we just want to praise you that Zoe had a baby boy and that it was delivered safely. And what a cute picture Brian sent me.

Thank you for that, Brian. And Lord, I just pray for little Alex, that he would be a good big brother. and he would help mom in taking care of the new baby.

And, Lord, I just pray your blessing on that family, and, Father, that salvation would come to all, and peace and joy would be expressed. Father, I just pray for Jerry KG6J. Lord, he has some financial decisions he has to make.

Give him wisdom as to how he should apportion his finances and take care of his responsibilities. And, Lord, I just ask that he would have the wisdom of God in knowing what course of action to take. Lord, just put your hand of blessing on him.

Pray, Lord, that he would just be able to sleep even though he's on pregnancy. Father, we just want to pray today for Kevin KB7 Zedekson's daughter, Montan Rayo. We pray for successful gallstone surgery for her.

Don't know when that's going to happen. Lord, give her relief from pain in the meantime. And, Lord, I just pray that that surgery would resolve the pain that she's experiencing.

Lord, we thank you for Bridgetta Davis, Roger WB7B's eldest friend. Lord, thank you that she was able to have the wrist surgery. I pray, Lord, that she would have mobility in that wrist.

I pray that you would relieve the symptoms of her rheumatoid arthritis throughout the body. Lord, I just pray for Caitlin, Lord, that she would turn from alcohol to Christ, that she would stay sober, and that, Lord, she would draw near to Jesus and be not drunk with wine where it is excess, but be filled with the Spirit. Lord, we just continue to pray for our brother Ed in 6XOH who's traveling to Sacramento.

right now for his grandson's graduation. And Lord, we look forward to his return. Give him safety as he travels and as he returns to us.

Father, we continue to pray for Anthony, W7DGM, for safety on his road trip. Hopefully I can meet him at the CPAC on Saturday. And Lord, I just pray that you would facilitate that fellowship.

Lord, we continue to pray for John, WB7WQK. Father, thank you for the good report you gave today that he's receiving some relief. But Lord, I pray that you would take away all of his pain.

I pray that you give him full mobility. And I pray, Lord, regarding the myriad of health issues he's facing, that you would heal him from each one. Lord, have mercy on John.

And Lord, I pray that you would heal his body and strengthen his soul and deepen his faith and trust in you regarding his situation. And Lord, may you give him grace to deal with these sources of flesh that he's got. Father, we pray for Will Kilmike by Foxtrot.

Thank you, Father, for the successful Vacation Bible School. We had 50 students come. Lord, we pray for the salvation of each one.

And Lord, I pray that the lessons that were taught would not be forgotten, that you would continue to use them in the lives of the kids and their parents to bring them to faith in Christ, or if they have gotten saved, to strengthen their faith in Christ. Lord, we pray that Will's radiation treatment will be effective in treating his prostate cancer. Lord, thank you that this is a slow-growing type.

The people at Stanford weren't able to help him. They transferred him to a hospital in Mather, Air Force Base in California, in Sacramento, California. And Lord, I just pray that you would heal his kidneys, Lord.

Don't know what's going on there. Lord, that you would speak to his heart, show him his sin, and show him his need of a Savior. Lord, we pray for Sean and his recovery from his motorcycle accident.

Father, just heal those ribs, help them to set properly. And Lord, may he know freedom from long-term pain as a result of this accident that he was in.

========== ### Scripture Reading (KJV)

<blockquote> Job 11:1-12:12

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said, Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified? Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed? For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

<blockquote> Job 12:1-12

Then Job answered and said, No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you. But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these? I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn. He that is ready to slip is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease. The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly. But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Doth not the ear try words, even as the palate tasteth meat? Doth not he that made all hear? I will even speak my part, I will defend myself before him. </blockquote>

### Study Summary

The study delved into Job chapters 11 and 12, focusing on the interactions between Job and his friends, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. These friends accuse Job of sin, suggesting that his troubles would end if he repented. Job, in his defense, responds to each accusation, asserting his innocence and questioning his friends' understanding.

The discussion highlighted the importance of humility and the need to gather information before making judgments. This is illustrated in Proverbs, which warns against answering a matter before hearing it, emphasizing the shame and folly that come from jumping to conclusions. The teaching emphasized the importance of being swift to hear and slow to speak, especially in counseling situations where it is crucial to gather facts before giving advice. This principle underscores the need to acknowledge when one does not have all the facts, fostering a more humble and informed approach to understanding and advising others.

Job's responses in these chapters reveal his frustration and exasperation with his friends. He asserts that he is not inferior to them in understanding and perceives them as lacking humility and wisdom. Job's defense underscores the limitations of natural revelation and the necessity of divine revelation for a deeper understanding of God's justice and wisdom. The concept of the fall and its implications on human understanding was discussed, emphasizing the importance of divine intervention in salvation.

The study concluded with a prayer for understanding and wisdom, as well as for various individuals and situations, including health, financial decisions, and salvation. The themes of humility, wisdom, and divine revelation were central to the discussion, encouraging believers to seek divine wisdom and understanding in their lives. ==========
