All right, let's see, who else do we have here? We've got K7GWR, that is our good friend Gene. Gene, good morning, good to have you with us.
See you there on the Utah SDR. Alright, so we got Gene checked in. Alright, any other check-ins, please come now.
Hey Max, you take all these check-ins every morning. Do you give us a summary report at the end of the year like we get for our taxes? That's a big negative, brother.
I have enough bookkeeping without having to do that over. Oh, I was telling one of your accountants. You know, I have huge lists of people who have checked in over time, hundreds.
I've checked into the West Coast Bible Study. But basically, as far as keeping an account goes, I'm not that organized. It seems like they're just keeping up with prayer requests and answering emails and you know, getting ready for the next day's study and all that is about the time I can invest.
So, yeah, negatory on that. You have to have an accountant as net control if you want that kind of information. Over.
You're doing well. You have my vote. And you don't even cost very much.
Yeah, I work cheap for sure. Well, you know, my savior poured out these unsearchable riches on me, and that's all I need. I am rich and blessed.
Like Bert always says, our socks are blessed off. So anyway, yeah, lots of remuneration from the Lord and also from you guys. You know, I always appreciate your gratitude.
And, you know, I appreciate you guys, too. I mean, this goes both ways, Jeff. You've blessed me immensely.
So anyway, we're all just here to share the blessing that Jesus has poured out on us. Don't worry. Amen and amen, and that's how it works.
I just love being a believer. Every day is a new adventure. And good or bad, it's okay.
Man, let's go with it. Yeah, copy that, copy that. Okay, let's see.
I see Will, QM5 Foxtrot, knock on to the Utah SDR without calling me. Will, come on out of the weeds there. Okay, M5F, I had the mic in my hand waiting for a break.
No new prayer requests, but kind of a praise. We're finished with our technician's training, and now we're going to be starting working on the vacation Bible school stuff with my wife. Okay, M5F.
Yeah, copy that. Alright, Will, real good. Yeah, just giving you a hard time.
I knew you were ready. But anyway, that's Will Kamp, and he and his wife are getting ready for Vacation Bible School, doing some preparation for that. So, Will, when does Vacation Bible School start?
Over. The first week of June. And it's going to be four days long, KM5F.
Yeah, first week of June. All right, Al, KJ7QK, let's put that on the prayer list. Will and Martha Fay, KM5F, are both preparing for Vacation Bible School, and that's the first week in June.
It's going to last four days. So let's pray about that, that God would bring kids, that the kids' hearts would be open to the gospel. and that many of them would become saved.
Let's also pray for the teachers that will be doing the teaching, that God will give them wisdom and skill in communicating the gospel to the little ones. Copy that? Good copy.
Thank you. All right, real good. Okay, well, we're going to be praying for you and your wife as you guys prepare for that.
All right, any other check-ins, comments, questions, observations, prayer requests? We are open. KM-5F.
KM-5F, thanks for the prayers for the day of prayer. Yeah, Roger, let me get back to you in a second. We had a double there.
Will, KM-5F, come ahead. Yeah, don't forget the parents of the VEBS kids, KM-5F. Yeah, copy that.
Okay, so Al, KJ7QQH, Will was saying, let's also pray for the parents of these children. A lot of them are unsaved. These children are coming from unsafe homes.
And so as the church reaches the kids, a lot of times you have the opportunity to reach the parents and share the gospel with them. So let's add the parents to that prayer request there. Al, go ahead.
Copy. Right. Real good.
Call me. Go ahead and call me. Go ahead.
Mark, thanks for sharing that. Will, I don't know if you're able to hear Mark or not, but Mark was saying that he and Margie, a long time ago, used to have Vacation Bible School in their home. And one day this adult woman is walking down the street with a child and she stops and talks to Mark and says that she was one of the little girls who went to his vacation Bible school a couple of decades earlier.
So she remembered that. So you never know the impact you're having on a young child's life, Mark. That's really encouraging.
Thanks for sharing that. Kathy used to do Vacation Bible School in our home, too, when we were living in Sacramento, gathering all the neighborhood kids in, and who knows what the fruit of that is today. So, boy, that's really a great way to sow the seeds of the gospel into fertile soil.
Mark, thank you for sharing that and encouraging Will in that regard and all of us. Okay, back to you Roger, WB7VZO, you had a day of prayer, you were the media representative, talk to us Roger. Yeah, I think there was one lady about the group of probably at least 70 or so church leaders that actually identified with the media.
But I said basically the media is in your pocket nowadays, or I guess I didn't mention Yeah, it's really been transformed over. Well, you're right. Yeah, with social media, there's lots and lots of different ways to get news.
So that helps to check sources and accuracy for sure. So anyway, I'm glad the day of prayer went well, Roger, and appreciate you being back with us today. When the time comes, Roger, I'm going to ask you to open in prayer, if that would be okay.
And anyway, let's continue with our check-ins. Are there any more check-ins to the West Coast Bottle Study? Please come now.
All right, there's Brian, KJ7PWM. Good morning, Brian. Any prior requests?
Go ahead. All right, copy that. So, Al, KJ7QQH, we're praying for Brian, KJ7PWN, his wife, Anna.
His wife, Anna, is going to go back to work. She took a leave of absence for a while, and she has a meeting today regarding her return to work. And Brian's asking prayer that that will go well.
So, copy that, Al. Yes, good copy. All right, good copy.
All right, Brian, we got Anna on the list. Okay, any other check-ins, please come down. All right, just looking over my STRs here for a second.
There's Dan, N6T&I. Good morning, Dan. Dan, N6T&I, we got you there, North Highlands.
Appreciate you being there on the Half Moon Bay SDR. All right, any more check-ins, please come now. All right, hearing nothing, we are going to get started.
I will continue to check my SDRs, make sure I didn't miss anybody as time goes on. But we are in Philippians 2:1-11 today. and Jerry AE70R, I'm going to ask you to read in a minute, not right now, just in a minute.
Anyway, this section is talking about Paul's exhortation and counsel. Now we saw his exhortation and counsel regarding persecution last time. We saw in verse 29, For unto you it's given in the behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.
So that last section we were looking at was talking about suffering. Well, today, this section we're going to be looking at in Philippians 2, 1 to 11 is talking about humility. And so we've seen exhortation regarding persecution in chapter 1.
Now in chapter 2, exhortation regarding humility. And of course the grand example of humility is Jesus Christ Himself. And so He sets the pattern, we follow in His steps.
And that has to do with not only how He spoke and the message He conveyed, but also how He lived and the example that He set. So regarding His teachings, regarding His example, we follow in His steps. And that's what we're exhorted to do today, especially in the way in which we treat each other, and then of course in the way in which we conduct ourselves in relationship to God.
So humility toward people, humility towards God, Jesus is the example. That's the passage today. Alright, before we get started, we want to open a prayer.
Roger, WB7VCL, if you could open a prayer for us today. I'd appreciate that. Dear Father, we are moved by the humility of Jesus, who on this earth did nothing but And I and my brothers and sisters here recognize that that should be our desire, not my will, but time be done.
And so thank you for this marvelous opportunity. song or words to an early Christian hymn to highlight the humility of our Lord Jesus through the blessed presence of his spirit in our hearts in Jesus' name. Amen.
Roger, thank you so much for that prayer. Really appreciate that. All right, Jerry, 8070R, if you could read for us, please.
Philippians chapter 2, verses 1 through 11. That's 1 through 11 there. Jerry, go ahead.
Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion. Make my joy complete by being the same and being of the same mind, maintaining this soul life. Do not merely look out for your personal interest in also for the interest of others.
Have this attitude in yourselves, which is also in Christ Jesus, who alone existed in the form of God, but did not regard equality with God as thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a bond-friending, and being made in likeness of man. Being found in an appearance as a man, he humbled himself, having some obedience to the point of death, even death on the cross. For this reason also God highly exalted him, who he told on him, the name which is above everything.
through the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and those who are on heaven and on earth and on the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Thank you, E7U. Terry, great reading.
Thank you for that. All right, any comments on this passage? Please come down to the call sign.
KJ7PBT go ahead. Thank you. ♪♪ ♪♪.
Okay, Mark, you were down in the mud just a little bit too much for me. I heard verses 1 to 4. Can anybody give me a relay on what Mark said?
Please come down with your call sign. Hi Mark, I'm sorry the bandwidth sideways on me just after you started talking and unable to copy that. If you could send me a text message, I will read that out on the air.
I apologize, but I just couldn't pull it out. Okay, any other comments? Please come now.
KG6J. KG6J, go ahead Jerry. Yeah, I'm going to make another try at this.
I couldn't hear him either. He was down in the static for me as well. But whenever something is repeated in the Word over and over, it's got to be pretty important and a continuing theme of calling for unity in the church and I also...
equate that to unity in the body of Christ. For believers, we all believe on how we get our salvation, and we believe in the Trinity, but on other matters, secondary matters, that should not stand between us and our love for them as brothers in the greater body of Christ. Also, in verse 3, there's a reminder for me to check my motives.
Anytime I'm doing something, what's my motive? Because that humility is the key with which Christ was the perfect example. And verse 4, looking out for others.
There's a saying I heard out in the world, and it reminds me of that saying. Even if I've got neighbors I don't care for here, but that doesn't matter. I should be looking out for them.
And that saying is, if you see something, say something. And so that's what I've got. Back to you, Pastor Max.
Yeah, Jerry, great points that you made there. And you know, you are so right. Every single New Testament letter addresses the issue of Christian unity and the need to preserve that, the need to cultivate that, the need to deepen and develop that.
You know, because by nature, I mean, we still have remaining sin, right? And that still creates conflict. And as you said, as long as we agree on the fundamentals of the faith, we can have unity with our Christian brothers, even though we differ on some of the secondary and tertiary issues.
And so those fundamental things, as you mentioned, the inspiration, authority, and inerrancy of the Scripture, that's our final source of authority, salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, belief in the Trinity, belief in the virgin birth, the resurrection of Jesus. You know, those are the things that are absolutely non-negotiable, and those form the core of our unity. Because without those things, you don't have Christianity, right?
So there's this irreducible minimum that we have to believe in order to have salvation and redemption and relationship with Christ. And I'm in union with anybody who has that fundamental belief and understanding of the gospel and of the essential elements of the Christian faith to make the Christian faith a Christian faith, right? So thank you for pointing that out.
And I have a little note here, Jerry, at the top of Chapter 2, the solution to strife and unity, pardon me, the solution to strife in the local church is what it says. And so here it is. And you're right.
We have to check our motives. What am I doing this? Why am I doing this?
And it needs to be done not through strife or vainglory, not for personal exaltation, but rather out of humility. Right. And you're right, if there's a problem that your brother has, jump over there and meet that need.
And that's what verse 4 is talking about. I think Mark, KJ7PVT, may have been referring there to verse 4: "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others." We can't be staring at our navel. You know, it isn't all about me, myself, and I.
It's about he, him, and them, right? Or, you know, if it's a woman, you know? The idea here is that we look outside of ourselves we perceive the needs that others have and then we help them bear their burdens, we help meet their needs, we help serve whatever it is that they have by way of a need in order to bring blessing to them.
So, a great comment. If you see something, say something. If you see a need, reach out and meet that need.
If somebody needs a word of encouragement, speak up. Give them a word of encouragement. And so the idea is we're always looking out.
We're looking for ministry. We're looking how we can serve others. And we're checking our motive when we do that, that we're doing it for Christ and for others and not for ourselves and our own glory.
Jerry, great comments. Thank you for that. All right, any other comments, please come now.
WB7VZL. Roger, please go ahead. I have just had a powerful illustration of how Paul uses the Gospel prophet of Isaiah and throws in a quote with, I think, great purpose as he highlights the bonding between the Older Testament and Jesus.
This quote that we have in our Bibles, in verse 10, at the name of Jesus, and then the quote is from Isaiah 45, "Every knee should bow." Those words come from Isaiah 45, and the passage is just incredible. regarding the everlasting salvation and magnifying of God. And he is directly saying that Jesus is the fulfillment of what we read in this incredible Isaiah 45.
The "Me" in Isaiah 45, capital M-A-M-E, is Jesus. It's a marvelous revelation of how Paul was using, bonding and highlighting the commitment of Isaiah to highlighting Jesus. Anyway, it's just a wonderful chapter to read, the end part of Isaiah 45.
Yeah, well said. Let me just read those verses. That's Isaiah 45:21-23.
God says, tell ye and bring them near. Yea, let them take counsel together. Who has declared this from ancient times?
Or who has told it from that time? Have not I the Lord? And there is no God else beside me, a just God and a Savior.
There is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else. Now here's Roger's verse, verse 23.
I have sworn by myself, one word has gone out of my mouth, and righteousness shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall swear. Surely one shall say, In the Lord have I righteousness and strength. Even to him shall men come.
that all their incense against him shall be ashamed. And in the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified and show glory. So, Roger, well said.
Isaiah 46, verses 21 to 25, what a wonderful passage. And you're correct. Paul reaches back there to Isaiah chapter 45 and verse 23 and pulls that phrase right out and inserts it here into Philippians 2 and verse 10.
So the good news is that many are blaspheming Christ now. But there will come a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Christ is Lord. And if it's going to happen in the day of judgment to a condemnation for those who failed in this life, let's do it now.
All right. I got a great message here from Mark KJ7PVT. Let me read this to you.
He says, "Hi Max, my noise level went way up as well." Here's an outline that I have for this passage. One other way of looking at what Paul was talking about. "Thanks for putting up with my weak station." Alright, so what we have here is this pattern for Christian living, Chapter 2.
Thinking of others in chapter 2 verses 1 to 4. Thinking according to the mind of Christ in chapter 2 verses 5 to 8 with humility. Thinking of Christ chapter 2:9 through 11 exalting Him.
So thinking of others, thinking with humility, thinking with the exaltation of Christ. And Mark as we go through this chapter further I'll read the rest of this outline. how Paul is combining his unity of the Word of God as he studies 45, you know.
He definitely inserts that this is Jesus, the one and only God, so to speak, over. Yeah, amen. And I really appreciate the way you help us tie the Old Testament with the New Testament.
And really, it's one book, right? And we could never understand the New Testament without the Old Testament. And we have a difficult time understanding the Old Testament without the further information the New Testament supplies.
So, you know, even though our Bible is divided up that way, it's really one book. And so it's important that we recognize the value of the Old Testament is equal to the value of the New Testament because it's all God's Word. All right, any other comments on this passage?
Please come down to your call center. All right, and I would like to acknowledge Carol, KK7TPO. Carol, I see you there on the Utah SDR.

And his antenna went down and, but anyway, he's there. KD7WBV, love you Joe, appreciate you being there with us. All right, any other comments on the passage, please come now.
AK6OK. AK6OK, go ahead. You know, the easiest thing when you look at this is be like Jesus.
It's kind of clear. That's a pretty simple message. Yeah, amen.
He set forth his example here, isn't he? Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus. And the idea there, Jeff, is that we're not to think our own thoughts.
We're to think the thoughts of Jesus after him. So whatever Jesus thinks, whatever he speaks, whatever his mind set was, that's what we need to adopt. You know, elsewhere we saw in Ephesians 5:1 that we're to be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love as Christ also loved us.
And so this is one example of what you're talking about here. And so we talked yesterday about for us to live is Christ. And we talked about Jesus being the central organizing principle of our life, around which everything revolves.
Well, that's exactly what this chapter is talking about, too. And we said in our introduction to this book that it's a book that is saturated with Jesus Christ. Either His name or personal pronouns referring to Him occur about 30 times in this book.
So obviously we need to be Christ-centered, we need to be Christ-focused. And that's why I really encourage people to spend a lot of time reading the four Gospels and see Jesus, listen to Jesus, and learn of Jesus, how he deals with people in different situations, the message he conveys to them, and the example that he sets. So, yes, let this mind be in you, verse 5, which was also in Christ Jesus.
Now, he provides a particular example here of his condescension. of coming down from His glory and becoming a man, taking to himself humanity. So as God, he was in the form of God, didn't think it was robbery to be equal with God.
He wasn't seizing something that didn't belong to him. So when Jesus claimed to be God, He's God. But also He took upon Himself humanity, verse 7.
made himself of no reputation and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in likeness of man. So when people looked at Jesus they saw, okay, here's a man, and here's a man who's washing people's feet, right? Here's one who's laying down his life for others.
Here's one who goes about doing good. to other people, as it says in Acts chapter 10. And so he's endlessly and tirelessly ministering to other people with humility, looking on the needs of others.
I mean, even when he's on the cross, right, he's thinking about his moms. and providing for her care when he commits her to the care of the Apostle John. And even in his most distressing circumstances, Jesus is always thinking about others and asking himself, how can I serve others?
So it's that attitude of humility, that attitude of servanthood, that's the mindset where we need to come down. from our positions, that's self-important, and we need to get down and serve the needs of others. Thank you for that comment, Jeff.
Appreciate you pointing that out. All right, other comments, please come out. - AK6OK again.
- Yeah, Jeff, go ahead, follow up. Yeah, follow up, Bob. This reminds me of Ronald Reagan.
When he was shot by John Hinckley, do you know that the same day he was concerned about who shot him, and he showed compassion for the guy who shot him? And I think this is a very, very interesting parallel. He was a really sweet president and he loved the Lord.
But one thing that was really unusual about him is he made it clear that with respect to his world politics, we win. They lose. And I think if you follow what it's saying here in Philippians, we win, the enemy loses.
Over. Yeah, amen. Because we're in a binary war here.
There's only two sides, right? There's the kingdom of Satan and his people. There's the kingdom of Christ and his people.
And the question is, is what kingdom are you going to identify with and which kingdom is going to triumph? and we know the answer to that latter question. Jesus is going to win, and his people are going to win.
Revelation 17 and verse 14 makes that crystal clear, and of course all the rest of the Bible does as well, when we see how that Christ not only defeated Satan at the cross, but he continues to implement that victory over Satan, until ultimately the Garden of Eden is completely restored in the new earth. Sin is eradicated. All the effects of the fall are reversed.
And Satan and his people are cast into the lake of fire to never bother us again. And so Jesus has this wonderful triumph. And so we look out at those that are in the kingdom of darkness, and we say to ourselves, "Jeff, that was once me.
I was there." And somebody shared the gospel with me. Somebody reached out selflessly. And because of that, I became saved.
I was transferred out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of his dear son, as it says in Colossians 1. And so let's be like Jesus. Let's go out into the environment where the unsaved are.
Let's share the gospel with them. and see what God will do with that witness in bringing people to salvation. So, yeah, I mean, in the political realm, Ronald Reagan, you know, recognized that he had those who were on the opposite side of the aisle, but he always treated them with dignity and respect, even though he radically disagreed with their policies.
And so, you know, when we're around unsaved people, we can always treat them with dignity and respect, even though we don't worship the gods they worship and we don't follow the behavior they follow. Nevertheless, these are people made in the image of God. These are people with eternal souls.
These are people who need the gospel just like we did. And so we can look on them with compassion, we can reach out to them with confidence that we have the message they need to hear so that they can not only have a better life here, but eternal life in heaven. Great comment, Jeff.
Thank you for that. Jeff, any further follow-up? Go ahead.
Negative. I'm all done. Let's open it back up.
All right, real good. All right, any other comments on the passage? WB7, do you need help?
Roger, please go ahead. Somewhere in my past, they summarized this passage as, this short phrase, "Descending into greatness." Over. I love that.
Descending into greatness. That is so perfect, Roger. Descending into greatness.
That's what Jesus did when he came down from his glory, right? And he descended, and yet what was the result of that? Yeah.
verse 9 wherefore God has also highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name and so you know those who exalt themselves are humbled but those who humble themselves are exalted by God and so that's what happened to Jesus that's what happens to us And so the more we lower ourselves before God and others, the more we serve, the more God is going to give us that crown of glory and the rewards in heaven and the recognition that we were his faithful servants. So back to you there, Roger. Did we cover that?
Oh yeah, it's tremendous. I have a story that is about a hymn that is dedicated to this passage, but it's written by, it's written to the tune, the Italian tune, "Oh Sole Mio." And I have memorized that on the violin or viola. In fact, at five o'clock I play for the older saints every Friday evening at their mealtime.
I'm gonna play that tonight. I haven't played it for a while. I need to brush up on it before I go.
But it is a great song. has all the poetry that highlights this passage in the hymn, and it is called, Down from His Glory. Now, the story behind that is that there was a little guy that was in a wheelchair And his name was Rusty, I guess apparently he was a red-headed fellow all his life.
His nickname was Rusty. And he personally made a copy of this hymn down from his glory. And I was playing the secular version, so to speak, and I said, Is that a hymn?" He said, "Yeah." And so he got an old hymn book out, made a copy for me, and so I'll never forget Rusty in his wheelchair giving me this beautiful tribute and memorial to this Parasite children.
Amen. Yeah, Down From His Glory, Everlasting Story. What a wonderful hymn.
And if you've never heard that, just go to YouTube and type in Down From His Glory and listen to that hymn. It's really, really edifying. So, Roger, thank you for that.
I appreciate the fact that you're going to be playing that. And it really exemplifies and is drawn directly out of this passage and is a wonderful exaltation of Christ and His saving work. Alright, the net would like to acknowledge Mark, W7UAR.
Mark, see you there on the Utah SDR. Thank you for joining us this morning. Alright, I got a prayer request here from Kevin, KB7ZXN.
Al, if you could copy this. Kevin's on a day trip to Montana. Appreciate your prayers for safe journeys.
That's Kevin, KB7ZXN, traveling to Montana, asking prayers for safe journey. Copy there, Al? - Copy.
- All right, real good. Okay, any other comments on our passage? Please come down to your call sign.
I'd like to focus a little bit on verses 10 and 11. that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, of things in earth, and things under the earth. And you can really see all that going on in Revelation chapter 5 there.
And that every tongue, verse 11, should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. So that's what we do as Christians, okay? First of all, we bow the knee, okay?
That's an expression of humility and submission. And then we confess that Jesus Christ is our Lord. And so we have a particular focus in our life, and that is that we are disciples.
We do not have a will of our own. Christ is Lord. And so whatever He wills, that's what we will.
Whatever He does, that's the example we follow. And our life is built around Him as Lord of our lives. And that's really what we're calling other people too.
I mean, everyone serves the Lord, and you're either serving Satan or Jesus. Those who serve Satan receive in return. death and destruction and robbery.
Those who serve Jesus receive in return life and more abundantly, blessing and everlasting life in Heaven. So the question is not, "Are you going to bow?" The question is, "Who are you bowing to?" And what will be the outcome and the result of that bowing down? So this idea that we can accept Jesus as Savior but not as Lord, is really contradicted by this passage.
Because verse 11 says, "Every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is," what? "That he is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." So the idea that a Christian can be saved and go to heaven and live life for himself in defiance of Christ is certainly a doctrine of demons and is no biblical gospel. So we need to not only trust him as Savior, we need to follow him as Lord.
And that's the nature of the saving gospel that's contained in the scriptures. All right. Any other comments on this passage?
Please come down. Question, KG6J. KG6J, go ahead with your question, Jerry.
So in verses 10 and 11, specifically in 11, is that also saying that those under condemnation will be confessing, even if it's too late for them, it's too late for their salvation, that they're going to confess it. That's exactly what it's saying. Yeah, on the day of judgment, everyone is going to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord.
But for the unsaved, it'll be too late. You know, today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time.
Now is the day of salvation. And so if people wait until after they die, they've waited too long. and they will acknowledge Jesus as Lord as he says to them, depart from me, you workers of iniquity, I never knew you.
Because they're going to be saying, Lord, Lord, did not we cast out demons in thy name and do many wonderful works in thy name? And so they're going to be calling him Lord in the end, but it's going to be too late. And since everyone is going to acknowledge Jesus as Lord sooner or later, the whole idea is do it sooner so you get the blessing and not later when it is confession unto condemnation.
Because what they're really going to be doing there, Jerry, is acknowledging that the one that they defied and the one that they refused and the one they ignored... is in fact Lord, and that's going to be a confession of condemnation, not a confession of salvation. Back to you there, Jerry, KG6J.
That's what I thought and wanted to hear, and so thank you for that, KG6J. All right, real good. Okay, we're about out of time.
Is there any final comment on this passage before we go to prayer? Please come down. Roger, please go ahead.
Yeah, to highlight how much this Isaiah 45 passage that we have just highlighted, because it was quoted in our passage for this morning. Paul doesn't stop there in Romans 14, right in the middle of Romans 14, verse 11. He quotes this passage again, the same one that we're focusing in.
"As I live," says the Lord, "every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall give praise to God." So that again is... He had that... He had Isaiah open, definitely ready to use it in his epistles, over.
Yeah, copy that, and thank you for that. Yep, Romans 14, 11 is another quote of this passage in Isaiah 45, 23. So he used it twice in his letters, once to the Romans, once to the Philippians.
Roger, thank you for pointing that out. And what that tells us is how important this whole concept is. because what happened is Adam and Eve started serving Satan as the Lord, and God says, we'll have none of that.
I have set my king on my holy hill, Psalm 2. And to him, everyone is going to bow and kiss the feet of the sun. lest ye be angry and ye perish from the way when his wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all they who put their trust in him. So, you know, Psalm 2 talks about this conflict about who's going to be Lord. The kings of the earth rage and say, no, we're Lord.
And God says, nope, I've got my king set on my holy hill. and you're going to worship Him. And if you don't, all that awaits you is wrath and judgment.
So, Roger, this is so important. Who is Lord? And the answer is Jesus is Lord.
But the wonderful thing about this Lord is He's also the one who came down from Heaven, took upon Himself humanity, and became obedient even to death, even the death of the cross. And so it's by his death on the cross that he redeemed us from our sins. And it's by trusting in that redemptive work and the person who did it that we obtain forgiveness of sins.
So believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. And then on that great day when you appear before him, he will recognize you as one of his. and bring you into heaven.
And we won't suffer that condemnation of those who refused him as Lord and then in the end find themselves having to admit that they were wrong. He was Lord as they are cast into the lake of fire. Alright, our time is gone.
It is time for us to go to prayer. Are there any final prayer requests before Al leads us in prayer? Please come down with your prayer request.
Alright, Al, KJ7QQH, go ahead and lead us in prayer. Thank you, Pastor Pat. This is KJ7QQH.
Good morning, gentlemen on the bed. Let's come together in service. Heavenly Father, thank you for this day and blessing.
We humbly ask your blessing on us as we apply these things to our daily lives. As we go out... and be in the world but not of it.
And we have some very, very things we want to bring to the plate today. First up we have Brian, KJ-7 PWM, who's flight planner is going to get back to work. And she had a meeting today and following her leave of absence, we asked her to pray that I grow well.
We looked up Will's kilobytes, five-month-old, and his wife's, even his wife's, that they would be starting vacation finals the first week of June. So we asked and prayed that the kids and parents... will be blessed through the Alley Children's Vacation Bible School, what it provides.
For Keith, as a case of any need for the healing of his mom's health issue. For Jerry, 87-yard, who has a couple of his church whose granddaughter is present and traveling from Arizona to Roseburg, Oregon, after safe travels for her and... to help me deliver it for baby.
And also for Jerry, as he traveled to visit family. For Gene, K7GWR, we join him in lifting up the WFFJ. who's at Tacoma General Hospital with cancer throughout his body and he doesn't have a good prognosis there, not looking good for him.

Lord, we ask for your hand to be over Jerry KG6J for his health and life issues. I pray he didn't get the x-ray, but he looked for the doctors to diagnose his back pain. We ask that that x-ray won't reveal a good opportunity for diagnosis, a relief that I'm trying to believe there for this vaccine.
We looked at the doctors. W6RLJ we pray for his serious health problems and healing there and for the establishment of the dental on the 18th for John AK60K for the military airmen to help him move air back from Trapped Air Force Base to the USS Tripoli in Italy that would be encouraged to the first on action. 13th W6YSI, wife Leslie has a PEP scan for cancer on May 12th.
We pray for a link to the report of no cancer there. Ontario and Ireland. asking for safe travel for our son, Fred, who is being bound from Alaska to our home base here.
And he's scheduled to arrive today. We ask for safety in his travel. Also for the safe travel that we'll be taking to visit John and family in Missouri and to see our grandson graduate college.
I would praise John's latest speech. He's going to show movement in cancer and if the treatment is working and our prayers are being answered. So thank you for that.
For Ed, N6XH, Deanne, the sister, has high cholesterol and her husband, Ed, needs an immediate assessment for his heart arrhythmia. They're delaying his appointment until June. We looked up Mike at W7GWO.
And for Mike, who needs healing for his polio. We pray for the salvation of Jake, his grandson, who has a musical talent, but it seems to be headed and not agreeable to the a godly light, and he's immersed in that rock and roll culture. So we hope that he can, and pray that he can redirect his musical talent more toward you.
Jeff A. Kasich, who's Jeff's niece Haley, needs salvation. grace you guys who process past injustices done to her and that she's making good improvements in her life for praise there to pray for autumn and her mental stability and the development of her social skills and deliverance of both theological beliefs and her salvation.
We looked up Carol, aka 7TPO, and her son-in-law, Chris, KL5SC, a believer, for future extensive back surgery in June or July to be successful. We pray for protection for Alice, a caroled seven-year-old, pray for her granddaughter, for one godly influence in her home, and for her salvation. And for you, Pastor Max, we hope that God will give you what you need in facilitating the West Coast Bible Study Net.
We thank Him for you in juggling and managing all the moving parts of this net. We pray that others will be encouraged to help lighten that book. And for all that are suffering throughout the world, that they may find peace through a relationship with you there.
We thank you for your goodness, your mercy, your grace, and your forgiveness, and for the gift of your son, Jesus Christ. And through him we pray all these things. Amen.

Yep, Al is going to not be with us. He's leaving tomorrow morning at 5:00 in the morning to fly back to Missouri to be with his son, John, and be able to watch his grandson graduate from college. That must mean Al's an old guy.
Anyway, he and Jerry are going to be gone until the 18th. So we're going to miss you, brother, and always appreciate your contributions to the net. A real blessing to everyone here.
So, Al, thank you for that. All right, Godspeed, and may God's good hand be on you. and cause you to be bright and shining light wherever you go as you travel.

but also those who stood by to give us a clear operating frequency. We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m. in order to read the scriptures, understand their meaning, message, and application, and then pray for grace and mercy to be able to live out what we have learned and for God to meet the needs of those in our circle of fellowship.
I'll be returning this frequency now to regular amateur use. This is WB7MAX and I will be clear and standing by. I think I see Eric there, KD7EF.

========== ### Scripture Reading (KJV)
Philippians 2:1-11
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
### Study Summary
The Bible study focused on Philippians 2:1-11, a passage that emphasizes the importance of unity and humility in the Christian life, and the ultimate exaltation of Christ. The study began with an opening prayer emphasizing humility and Christ's example, followed by the reading of Philippians 2:1-11 by Jerry, AE70R.
The discussion centered on several key themes within the passage. The first section, verses 1-4, highlighted the importance of unity and humility among believers. The group discussed the need to look out for others and check our motives, emphasizing that unity should be a priority in the church, and that secondary matters should not divide believers. Jerry provided an illustration about unity and the importance of looking out for others, reinforcing the idea that Christians should be of one mind and one accord.
Moving on to verses 5-8, the group focused on Christ's example of humility. Jeff shared an illustration about Ronald Reagan's compassion to highlight how Christ's humility serves as a model for Christian living. The passage describes Christ's willingness to take on the form of a servant and to humble himself, even to the point of death on the cross. This example of Christ's humility is to be emulated by believers.
The final part of the passage, verses 9-11, discussed Christ's exaltation and the ultimate confession of his lordship. The group discussed the idea that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Roger provided an illustration about the hymn "Down From His Glory" to help illustrate the transition from Christ's humility to his ultimate exaltation.
The group also addressed a question from KG6J about verses 10-11, clarifying that everyone will confess Jesus as Lord, but for those who are unsaved, it will be too late. This discussion underscored the importance of accepting Christ's lordship in this life.
The study concluded with prayer requests for various individuals and situations, followed by a closing prayer led by Al, KJ7QQH, covering various needs and requests. The group acknowledged Al's departure and expressed appreciation for his contributions.
Overall, the study emphasized the importance of humility and unity in the Christian life, with Christ's example serving as the ultimate model. The passage also highlighted the ultimate exaltation of Christ and the confession of his lordship, emphasizing the need for believers to embrace Christ's humility and to live in unity with one another. ==========
