And the doctor came and said, how's it doing? And I said, oh, it's still a little blurry because one of the glasses is taken care of. And it isn't. My limbs aren't perfect because I had, number one, Canada Rock, number two, I had high, high pressure. Uh, both kinds. So, my life just won't go. I was looking forward to the second one. All right, good, real good. Thanks for that report. Appreciate that. All right, the net would like to acknowledge day KE7WKI. Good morning, Dave. See you there in the Utah SDR. Appreciate you being there. All right, we're going to get started with our net. We are in Ephesians chapter 3, verses 14 to 21. And what we have in this section is another prayer of the Apostle Paul. So you recall back in chapter 1, he did some teachings. in verses 1 through 15, and then he did some praying in verses 16 to 23. Now, once again, he's done some teaching in chapter 2, in the first part of chapter 3, and then he goes back to praying in chapter 3 in verses 14 to 21. So he teaches and he prays, and he teaches and he prays. And so we really see the importance of both of those elements. And we'll be talking about that as we look at this passage. But these are wonderful prayers. And if you ever get in a situation where you just feel kind of dead in your prayer life, well, grab one of the prayers in the Bible. There's a bunch of them scattered throughout the epistles and in the Gospels. And just make that prayer your prayer. Pray those requests for yourself and for others. And you'll find yourself back in the spirit of prayer real quick. So anyway, great passage we're going to be looking at today. But before we read the passage together, we want to open our time in prayer. And so, Bert, at W7RKD, if you could open a prayer for us today, I'd sure appreciate that. Thank you, thank you. Dear Father, we thank you for this gathering, for all this frequency, all this radio frequency. Over all of us, let's seek your face, and those that are interested in you, Father. We are here today to get our daily nourishment, our daily food, to nourish the Holy Spirit and the soul. Our light shines bright upon those that are lost out there. It's seeking the Holy Spirit that are in despair and in a pitfall. that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is width and length and depth and height, to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Mark, KJ7PVT, go ahead. Mark, I can hear you acceptably. Go ahead. Please make your comment. ... Okay, Mark, I think you're done. Mark was focusing in on this phrase, in verse 14, "For this cause I bow my knees." And you notice chapter 3 in verse 1, "For this cause I Paul." And so there's a reason why Paul is doing what he is doing, and Mark is pointing that out. His prayer has a motivation. And the motivation is all of the truths that he's been teaching in chapter 1 and chapter 2 and in the first half of chapter 3. And so when we pray, we generally have a cause that we're praying for. And of course, I think the cause here is that there was a recognition of human need. These people were in danger of discouragement and defeat in their spiritual lives, like all believers are, because they're into the assault of the world and the flesh and the devil. false teaching and all of that. And also the second cause, I think, is not only the recognition of human need, but also the recognition of the fact that God has some purposes for these people. And He knew what God's purposes for these people were, that there would be a welding together of Jew and Gentile into one body, that these people would be formed into a spiritual temple to offer spiritual sacrifices to God, and that they would together be unified and faithful in not only adhering to biblical doctrine, but proclaiming it and living it out both individually and corporately. So he had a love for these people. He had a longing that God's purposes would be carried out in their lives, and it was for that cause. that he wrote the letter, it was for that cause that he prayed. So, Mark, good comment there. Appreciate you bringing out that phrase, for this cause. That's a significant phrase that is worthy of reflection, and the same things that motivated Paul's prayer need to motivate our prayers as well. Mark, KJ7PBT, thanks for that comment. All right, any other comments? Go ahead. Maybe not in the way that we expected, but they're always accomplished. God's purposes can't be defeated by sinful people. God's purposes can't be defeated by Satan. And so we can come with confidence as we pray according to the will of God. You know, it says in 1 John, "If we ask anything according to His will, we know that He hears us. And if He hears us, we have the thing that we desire of Him." Well, how do we know what His will is? His will is in His Word. that he's going to achieve. And part of that is making people holy without blame through preaching the gospel. Part of that is building up the local church in its peace, in its unity, and in its worship. Part of that is proclaiming the gospel to the lost. So God has all these purposes that are in His Word, So that is a wonderful promise there in verse 20. Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. You know, every time I read those verses, Jeff, they just thrill me. is that what happens in the church is seen in heaven. So we know that there are millions and millions and millions and millions of angels in heaven. Revelation makes that real clear. 10,000 times 10,000 and thousands of thousands, it says. struck with wonder, love, and praise at what God is doing in us. So what verse 10 is saying is that the angelic hosts in heaven see the manifold wisdom of God in and through the work and the operation of the local church and all that goes on within it. Okay? The audience is the angels in heaven. And think about it. When you go to church and you sit there and you sing praise to God and you offer prayers and you fellowship and you hear the preaching of the word, all of those things, someone's watching that. And the angels are watching that. And I was conscious as I was preaching that not only is God listening to what I'm saying, all the angels are listening, too. Yeah, Roger, real good. Thank you for that. 1 Corinthians 4 and verse 9 talks about this audience that we have. We are made a spectacle or a gazing stalk, that which is looked upon by the world and by angels and by men. So the world is watching us as we worship. Angels are watching us as we worship. And the unsaved are watching us as we worship. Okay, Mark was saying that there's a dark side to this issue of the audience as well, and that is Satan and the demons are watching. He talked here in Ephesians 6:12, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, by proclaiming his defeat and by declaring the lies that he and his helpers are propagating and thus exposing and removing the power of his influence. So that's the other thing we have an eye towards is Satan is trying to throw monkey wrenches in here. Yeah, and it's perfectly fine for that. I can't think off the top of my head of an example in the Bible of folded hands. The Bible talks about lifting up hands. But certainly, you know, one of the positions I didn't mention is people laying face down on the ground. things that are inexhaustible. Elsewhere it talks about, in chapter 3, in verse 8, it talks about the unsearchable riches of Christ. It talks elsewhere in 2 Corinthians about the unspeakable gift of God, who is his son Jesus. And so, excuse me just a second. Had to cough there. and then pray this prayer for others around you, so that God would grant all of these requests to those around you. Because this is a divinely inspired prayer. It's inerrant. It's infallible. It's according to the will of God. And so if the requests that are in this prayer were fulfilled in our lives, and the lives of our wives and our children and our fellow church members and our loved ones, what a glorious group of Christians we would be. and her care and support. We looked him up as well. She's there and needs your help as well. For Jeff, AJ, it's okay. We had an MRI on Sunday. We prayed that an accurate diagnosis could be and for unspoken requests for health and life issues for doc W6RLJ. We pray for his serious health issues and for the establishment of the dental clinic on the island of Chi Chi and for his mission there. For Mike, N7FFM, we got to speak with this morning, and we pray for his recovery and his taste and smell after having COVID. For Jim, N7BKG, For Brian, KJ7, PWM, for the salvation of Mariah, Brian's secretary. Brian gave her a Bible to read, and we pray that that will bring her to a closer relationship with you. For Brian's son, Avery, and his girlfriend, Zoe, to become married and become saved. I'll give you a call when you're all wrapped up here. All right, we'll get it. Look forward to it. ♪ Thank you. you you you you
