### Bible Study Summary: Ephesians 1:7-12

#### Introduction and Context
The Bible study focused on Ephesians 1:7-12, a passage that delves into the profound themes of redemption, adoption, and the fullness of time. This study is centered on the idea that through Christ's blood, believers are forgiven of their sins and adopted as children of God. The passage also speaks to the wisdom and insight lavished upon believers and the ultimate goal of gathering all things under Christ.

#### Detailed Study of Ephesians 1:7-12

**Verse 7:** "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
- **Redemption:** This verse introduces the concept of redemption through Christ's blood. Redemption is a powerful theme in the Bible, emphasizing that believers are bought back from the bondage of sin. This redemption is not limited but is "according to the riches of his grace," indicating that it is abundant and infinite.
- **Forgiveness of Sins:** Redemption is tied to the forgiveness of sins. This forgiveness is not conditional but is a gift of God's grace. It is through Christ's blood that this forgiveness is made possible.

**Verse 8:** "Wherein he abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;"
- **Wisdom and Prudence:** This verse speaks of the wisdom and prudence that God has lavished upon believers. This wisdom is not merely intellectual but is practical and prudential, guiding believers in their daily lives.

**Verse 10:** "That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; in him:"
- **Fullness of Time:** The "fulness of times" refers to the period between Christ's first and second coming. This period is characterized by the gathering of all things in Christ. This gathering is not merely a physical gathering but a spiritual one, where all things are united under Christ's headship.

**Verse 11:** "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:"
- **Inheritance and Predestination:** This verse speaks of the inheritance that believers have obtained. This inheritance is not merely material but is spiritual, including eternal life and adoption into God's family. The concept of predestination is also introduced, emphasizing that believers are predestined according to God's purpose and will.

**Verse 12:** "That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ."
- **Praise of His Glory:** The ultimate goal of redemption and adoption is to bring praise to God's glory. This praise is not merely verbal but is lived out in the lives of believers who trust in Christ.

So let's get started with our Bible study. Unless there's any other voice check-ins? Other voice check-ins? Please come down. Alright, we're going to get started with our Bible study today. Jeff, AK6OK, I'm going to ask you to open in prayer for us in a minute. So if you could be ready for that, I would appreciate that. And Roger W. from VJL, I'm going to have you read. So that's Ephesians 1, verses 7 to 12. So if you could be looking at that, that would be great. But before we pray and read, let's talk for a second. We're in the book of Ephesians. And Paul opens this letter with a wonderful discussion of the salvation we have in Christ. And we've been talking about God's plan of salvation and God's provision of salvation. And we're looking at that in chapter 1, verses 1 to 14. Now yesterday, we looked at 1 through 6, and we saw that God the Father chose a people to be saved before the foundation of the world. that produces that result if we repent of our sins and trust in Jesus as our Savior. And then the second blessing that His divine sovereign election produces is not only that we would be holy without blame before Him, but that we would be adopted as children to Him. And so we are not just forgiven. We are brought into family and made into sons and daughters of God. And so he predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself. So this divine sovereign election that's spoken of here in verse 4 produces holiness and blamelessness and it produces adoption. And of course when we see what he has done for us and planned for us, That causes us to praise the glory of His grace. So we talked about that yesterday, had a great discussion. Now today we're going to be looking at the work of the Son. You know, how is God able to make us holy and without blame? How is He able to take people who were servants of Satan and children of Satan and make them into servants of God and children of God? Well, through the saving work of Jesus. And so verse 7, we have redemption through his blood. And so that's the section we're going to be looking at today, the focus shift from the work of God the Father in planning salvation to the work of God the Son in providing salvation. salvation. Well, that's the scope of what we're going to be looking at. That's the context and the main idea. Let's open in prayer, and then we'll begin to discuss our passage. And so, Jeff, AK6OK, if you could open in prayer for us today, I appreciate that, brother. Thank you. Thank you, Max. And good morning, everybody. It's Awesome Friday, another day where we get to witness God's mercy and his grace and his miracles, which are amazing. That's great. Lord, thank you for this good day. Thank you for the upcoming weekend. And thank you for all the answered prayers and provision for every one of us. We are blessed to be here. We're blessed to be children of God. And this is a terrific book in Ephesians. I love this book, and I know everybody else does, too. So please help us to take this in and absorb it and remember it and store it away in our locker. And thank you so much, Lord, in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Thank you so much for that, Jeff. Danette would like to acknowledge Brian, KA7ZIP, who's listening in today. And also... uh... Peter, KJ7BAC, your acknowledgement there on the Utah SDR. Good morning to you as well. All right. Thank you for that prayer, Jeff. Much appreciated. All right. Let's go ahead and read this passage together. Steve, W6YSI, if you could read for us. Appreciate that. Steve, we're reading Ephesians 1, verses 7 to 12. Ephesians 1, 7 to 12. Go ahead there, Steve. Okay. Ephesians 1, 7 to 12 from the New American Standard. In Him, have redemption through His blood. He forgives us of our trespasses, and brings to the riches of His grace. She lavished upon us all wisdom and insight, made known to us the mystery of His will, according to his kind intention which he purposed in him. It is a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, coming up all things in Christ, things in the heavens. and things upon the earth. In him also we have gained an inheritance, having been predestined according to his purpose, works all things after the council's will. To the end, that we who were the First, hope in Christ, fear me, to the praise of His glory, and I stop here for a second. Alright Steve, real good. Thank you for that reading, appreciate that. Alright, there's a lot in this passage. Would anyone like to comment on what's going on here and what Paul is teaching us? Please come down to your call sign. WB7VZL? Roger, WB7VZL, please go ahead. Well, when you talked about the density of the theology and the density of the grace of God, this is probably one of the most concentrated of the density in this book. But in Galatians 4:4, "in the fullness of time," we have another reference in the maturity in verse 10. And I had some fun after I mentioned Isaac Newton to you and his comments on Galatians 4.4 and Daniel 9.24. There's those six incredible presentations of the grace of God and the forgiveness in that passage that Gabriel highlights. And I think Newton really, really flourishes in those perspectives of the fullness, the completeness of the times, the maturity of God's timeline. So I see it also for the first time in my life in verse 10. Over. Yeah, for sure. So Galatians 4 says, you know, in the fullness of time, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, that he might redeem those that are under the law. And so here we have a declaration once again of that phrase in verse 10, that in the administration of the fullness of time, he might gather together and one all things in Christ. Wow. And so that fullness of time, that concluding era, if you will, began when Jesus was born, and it concludes when Jesus returns. And so we're living in the fullness of times right now, that period between the first and the second coming of Jesus. Those are the last days, as it says in Hebrews chapter 1, verses 1 and 2. And so the reason this is the fullness of time is because in this period, everything's being consummated that was planned and provided for in the first 4,000 years from creation until Christ. And so we're seeing everything come together, everything being finalized, everything being finished. Jesus accomplished our salvation at the cross, and now he's implementing the fruits of that salvation that he achieved here And things are rushing toward their conclusion. When will that conclusion occur? It'll occur when he gathers together in one all things that are in Christ, both in heaven and in earth. So there's believers in heaven right now. There's believers on earth. They're both in Christ, that is in union with Christ, in relationship with Christ, and there's going to come a day that when the whole church will be assembled together in one place at one time. And, of course, that will be when Jesus comes back and raises the dead and raptures and transforms the living, and we're all brought together to be just one place and one body. So that will be the conclusion of the fullness of time. And the unfolding of providence and history are completely in God's control, according to He who carries out all things after the counsel of His own will, as it says in verse 11. All right, Roger, back to you. Yes, those are very appropriate broad strokes to the specific prophecy of the 70 weeks that highlight the fullness of time and the coming of the Messiah, as you've indicated, His birth and His propitiation, His suffering that Gabriel talks about. And I really like the word lavished in the NASB that Steve read for us. That word lavished communicates such an abundant feeling in my mind. According to the riches of His grace which He lavished upon us, it reminds me of of the NIV's translation of 1 John 3:1 to describe this abundant grace. I just, that's kind of really bounced out at me when we heard this this morning. Over. Yeah, the thing is, is God has infinite resources. He's able to give infinite gifts And his gifts are without comprehension in terms of the degree of blessing that they contain. And so the word lavish, Roger, is almost inadequate, as wonderful as that word is, to describe the degree and the depth of the blessing that God brings in salvation. So we can't use enough superlatants or enough comparatives to try to express the height and the depth and the degree of God's love that he has towards us and the blessing he brings into our lives. I had a guy share with me the verse the other day, Roger, eyes not seen, ears not heard, neither is it entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for those who love him. And, you know, God, as it were, under promises and over delivers. And we are just going to be dumbfounded with wonder, love, and praise. when we see what it really is compared to what we thought that it might be. Back to you, Roger. Yes, yes. It says literally in verse 8, according to the NSC, side market made abundant towards for us in all wisdom and might. I guess it's more abundant, I guess they use as an option. But yeah, as you say, it is abundantly clear that we have adequate for anyone that desires it, anyone who hungers it. I think that's a real key point. Unless you're humble enough to admit that you need something from HEMET, this goes untapped, unfortunately. Over. That's right. You know, it's like, you know, it talks about the riches of his grace there at the end of verse 7. And it's like there's an open treasure chest, right? And this treasure chest, you know, you can't even see the edges of it, and it's full of treasure. And it's like folks walk by and look at it and turn their head away and keep walking in the desert that this world is. You know, John the Baptist said he was the voice of one crying in the wilderness is the idea there. And, you know, here we have this wonderful gift of salvation, the infinite, unmeasurable riches of Christ. And, you know, people turn away from it. It just shows the darkness and the depravity of the heart, that it wouldn't want that which is good. but rather would prefer to eat the carrion and the rottenness of the things of the world. Well, we just have to keep doing what Jim in 7BKE keeps doing, and that's meeting with people and sharing the gospel and praying that God will open their eyes and renew their hearts so that they see the value and they have a heart to embrace it. All right, Roger, real good. Thank you for those comments. Any other comments, please come down. Is that an accent? Kevin, KB7 is that an accent? Please go ahead. Yeah, very good discussion, and concur completely there. You know, it's interesting, the text here, in verses 3 through 14, comprised one of the earliest hymns of the Church, and it really focused on three stanzas, you know, God the Father of Eternity. God the Son of redemption and the Holy Spirit that brings us to glorification, that seals us, that works in us in sanctification. And then the chorus was glory to his grace. And, you know, what a beautiful hymn. I might have to go back and visit that more often there. But, yeah, to this text, you know, I don't remember how you phrased it, but there is so much here. I really kind of just focused on verse 7 this morning myself because... though it's planted to kind of, you know, look forward and understand. But, man, verse 7 itself is really a pivotal point. We step out of eternity into the here and now, into the need for salvation, as you talked about, the need for redemption. And here's the problem. Here's why this treasure goes missing. untouched so far too often. And that is because we're dealing with something called sin. And it's interesting, in the Hebrew, there's many, many, many words used to define different types of sin. In the New Testament, we have a lineage of many, many... types of sin. And yet, we know ultimately it's an offense against God. It's a violation against God's law. But as a culture, as a society, as a people, more and more now, we don't want to recognize that. sin as a thing. If you want to get somebody's attention, you know, be a mixed company and start talking about sin. People will start quieting down and listening because that's something that's not normal these days or comfortable to talk about. But it is at the heart of the matter. That is why we need a Redeemer. That's why God sent His Son. That's God gave himself, or Jesus gave himself a ransom for us that we might be redeemed, that that debt might be paid, that we might have hope and salvation. And, you know, historically, there's really four philosophies that are guiding much of our worldview today, and these four philosophies come from four guys that are in the grave right now. You know, you've got Darwin that promotes the thought, well, you know, man is just progressing, you know, so it's a physical thing. You know, we started out, you know, in this mud puddle mythology, but we're progressing. So if man would just progress over time physically, that he would continue to be better. Well, I think we can look back through the history of man. And see, we're not getting better. To me, if anything, we're becoming more depraved and worse over time. And then you've got Dewey, who says, "Well, no, man just needs a better education." It's just that we need to have more information, but we can look at the educational systems of the great universities, and now we have so much available at our fingertips with a volumes of books that study so much of that now digitized and available at our fingertips on the internet or through different databases. And yet that hasn't solved man's problem. And then you've got, well, no, Sigmund Freud has started that philosophy of, well, it's just man's psychology. That's what it is. That's the problem, you know. You got the ego and the super ego and somehow, you know, sin is really just confined within that. It's just a matter of interpretation within those realms. And we don't clearly know that's not the solution. And then, of course, you've got Karl Marx that says, no, the problem is social. No, you just need to share it. And the solution is socialism and really communism, that we just all have to be equal and just be everything divided up equally amongst all of us. And it's not that either. It's not socially or politically. The problem is sin. And sin is where we have to address it because the problem is spiritual. It's not physical. It's not educational. It's not psychological. And it's certainly not economic. It's spiritual. And that offense against God, and if we're honest with ourselves, we know that we are sinners against God. Well, what can we do about it? Well, this is what verse 7 is all about. And what a glorious redemption that is. And that treasure that you and Roger talked about is untouched because so many will not want to admit or address the sin. But Jesus already addressed that sin for us. KB7, Zedek Sin. Kevin, thank you so much for that analysis of both solutions and the declaration of the true solution. And you are exactly correct. Our text says in verse 7, speaking of Jesus, it says, In Jesus we have redemption through his blood. Now here it is, the forgiveness of sins. And you're exactly right, Kevin. Sin is the problem. Christ is the solution. And when Jesus was brought down to this earth and incarnated into a man, it says of him, in Matthew 1 and verse 21, thou shalt call his name Jesus for... He shall save His people from their sins. And so at the very heart and core of what Jesus came to do is to redeem us from our sins and all of the consequences of those sins. So you're right. The solution... is not physical or educational or psychological or economic. The solution is redemption. The word redeem means to set free by the payment of a ransom. And so the clear implication is we are in bondage. Our sins brought us into debt. into bondage to God's law and God's justice. Because we sinned, they had a claim on us, and the claim was death. The way to the sin is death. But the gift of God is redemption from that death through the Lord Jesus Christ. And so the wonderful message of this passage is that there is a solution to us being unholy and blameworthy. God chooses us to be holy without blame. He chooses to adopt us as children. Well, how is He going to take sinful people and make them holy and blameless? How is He going to take rebellious, defiant people who hate Him and turn them into their children? Well, He's going to do that through the saving work of Jesus. And so you're right, the problem is not external. The problem is internal. The problem is not physical. The problem is spiritual. And only one person has the solution to that problem, and that's Jesus, who set us free from the claims of God's law and God's justice by paying the ransom of his own blood in the place of ours, his own death in the place of ours, his own bearing of the wrath of God in the place of ours, so that God could be just and the justifier of him that believes in Jesus. And so because justice is satisfied, forgiveness can be extended. And it is to all of those who, as it says here in the last part of verse 12, who trusted in Christ. And so by trusting in Jesus, it is saving work. We can have redemption from our sins. We can have the forgiveness of our sins. And it's all the result of the riches of the grace. that Christ has poured out on us. Kevin, excellent analysis of the salt solution. Great declaration of the true solution, which is salvation from sin. All right, other comments on this passage? Please come down. Mark, KJ7, KVT, please go ahead. That bird... The mountain... The bird... Yeah. Thank you. ♪♪ ♪♪. . Thank you. Smart done Yes, I believe so. I really was disappointed that I couldn't hear all that he said. I wonder if anybody else heard it. Okay, I think what I heard was that he was talking about adopting a couple of boys out of Russia. Now that they had to be brought from that country to this country, and all the things that had to be done to bring them out of one realm into the other realm. And so that's right, you know, we are like in the kingdom of Satan, and brought out of that kingdom into the kingdom of light. And that process of taking us out of one kingdom and into another. Mark was talking about that, I think, in relationship to adoption. I don't want to misrepresent what he said. I wasn't able to hear real well. Does anyone else have a comment, or were they able to hear what Mark had to say? Go ahead, other stations, give me a call, Clint. Okay, so Mark was connecting redemption in verse seven with adoption in verse five, and how that in order for us to be adopted, into the kingdom of light, we've got to be redeemed out of the kingdom of darkness. And so when you take someone out of Russia, you bring them to America, you know, the idea there is that there's this transaction that has to take place. And of course that transaction is paid for and accomplished by Jesus Christ. So thank you, Mark, for your comment. Wish we could have heard you better, but appreciate the idea of the connection between redemption and adoption. All right, any other comments? Please come down. Well, WB7, is it out? Roger, please go ahead. May I again take the liberty to highlight -- this keeps ringing in my ears -- about in Daniel 9:25 about the Messiah. And verse 24, may I read those six predictions over? Yes, please go ahead, Roger. Well, it talks about the 70 weeks, 70 creeds to your people and your holy city to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity. to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, in other words, give it authority, and to anoint the most holy place. And I see that as the inauguration of Jesus in the heavenly sanctuary at his resurrection. This is... I think what Paul is basically elaborating is he contemplated the prediction of the Messiah to come. Over. Yeah, Roger, thank you for pointing that out. And those are wonderful, redemptive phrases and promises there in Daniel 9.24. And so, as you said, sin is transgression, number one. Number two, make an end of sins. Number three, make reconciliation for iniquity. Number four, bring in everlasting righteousness. Number five, seal up the vision and prophecy. And number six, to anoint the most holy. And so this saving work of Jesus was spoken of over and over and over again in the Old Testament, one of which is that passage in Daniel 9.24 that you read to us. We see it in Isaiah 53. We see it in Psalm 22. We see it all over the place, Genesis 3.15. So this redemption that we now look back on and enjoy and revel in and worship regarding was planned. But when the fullness of time came, Roger, as you said, then it was executed, carried out, achieved, accomplished once for all. So that now, by faith in Jesus, we can receive all of the riches that Christ purchased for us to be able to obtain by His saving work on the cross. So, Roger, thanks for pointing out that passage. Back to you there, Roger. Yeah, I just... When Kevin was talking about sin, I just... It was just underlined in my brain. That's what Gabriel tells Daniel that would happen. And now we have the fulfillment, as you said. Over here. Yeah, amen. And once again, Christianity is a sinner's religion, okay? Sin is at the very center of what our problem is, and redemption is at the very center of what the solution is, and that's why the gospel is so critically important, because the gospel is what takes our problem. and tells us and provides for us the solution. And that's why getting the gospel right is so critically important, because to get the gospel right is to get the message of the Bible right. And to get the gospel wrong is to get the message of the Bible wrong. And the stakes couldn't be higher. And that's why Paul speaks so vociferously against the perversion of the gospel in Galatians, and why he works so hard at the establishment of the gospel in Ephesians. There's nothing more important than this. This is it. And so one of the problems, Roger, I see... in modern evangelicalism is they hardly mention sin. And they don't want to make people feel bad. They don't want to make people feel guilty. They don't want to make people feel ashamed. And so they want to preserve human pride and somehow get them into heaven. Well, that doesn't work, can't work, never has worked, never will work. we have to confess we are sinners we have broken God's law we're guilty, we're lost, we're defiled and we're helpless and we need redemption God provided the Redeemer His name is Jesus And he says, "Look unto me, and be you saved, all the ends of the earth." So we're not looking to some physical redemption. We're not looking to redemption through education or psychology or economics. We're looking for redemption morally from sin and being brought into a state of holiness. Because only perfect people, only morally perfect people are allowed into the presence of God and into Heaven. And the only way we can be morally perfect is for Jesus to make us that way by his saving work. So all of our trust is in him and in his redemption and the forgiveness of sins he has supplied. And the good news is that's not just for a few. That's for whosoever will. And so if you desire forgiveness of sins, then you ask Jesus to save you from your sins and to apply the benefits of His work on the cross to your condition, and He will do so. As Paul said to the Philippian jailer, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." And so it's by faith in Jesus. that we can be and are saved and are promised salvation. Great comment there, Roger. Thank you for that. All right, any other comments? Please come now. Is that Xen? Is that Xen? Please go ahead, Kevin. Yeah, Roger, thank you so much. Great discussion and great comments. I wish I could have heard Mark. But I wanted to touch on the adoption component just briefly, but in the context of this redemption. Because you're right, without redemption, we are still lost. We are still dead in our trespasses and sins. And this redemption, the picture gives, you know, during this period of time, there were probably 6 million slaves. in the region there. And occasionally, maybe a slave would perform a heroic act, maybe, you know, rescue a child or something, save their life in some act of, you know, heroism. And with that, the family then would oftentimes take that slave and purchase him, purchase his freedom, if you will, and then give him that certificate of freedom. And, you know, it would pay that ransom, if you will, pay that ransom to set him free. Well, that's the picture here of our sin, that we are set free from the bondage the slavery of the sin, but not only that, from the penalty of the sin and the control of the sin. But even more than that, after setting that slave free, here God takes it to another level. He says, well, not only am I going to set you free from that, but I'm going to adopt you into my family. Now I'm going to give you the seal of the Holy Spirit. I'm going to let you walk in Christ. I'm going to give you the gift or the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. But you are now part of my family. You are now my child. And to be adopted in, that has its own purpose. implications and ramifications too, you know, legally and positionally and all of the above. They're the riches of that position. So not only are we redeemed and rescued from the fate and the control of sin, which you're right. Churches too often don't want to talk about, and certainly this world doesn't want to hear about or talk about, but this is at the heart of the matter. And as, Roger, as you pointed out, the hope is in this event here, our Savior rescuing us from that. But then God takes us up, and he says, now you're adopted into my family, and you are my child. What a glorious blessing. KB7, is that acceptable? Yeah, Kevin, thank you for that. Yeah, we're free from the bondage, the penalty, and the control of sin. And in addition to that, we are adopted into his family. And, you know, that's the inheritance. Notice verse 11. It says in verse 11, in whom also we have obtained an inheritance. And what is that inheritance? Well, it is freedom from sin. It is eternal life. It is adoption into the family of God. It is entrance into heaven. In short, it's the unsearchable riches that Christ provides in his saving work. And who obtained that? We're predestinated, verse 11, according to the purpose of him. who works all things after the counsel of his own will. Remember that same word "predestination" was used in verse 5, having predestinated us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself. And so we have this wonderful inheritance that God plans to provide us with in eternity past, to make us holy and without blame, to make us adopted children, to make us free from the penalty and ultimately the practice of sin, and finally the presence of sin. And he did all that after the counsel of his own will. Now notice verse 12. What's the purpose of all this? That we should be to the praise of his glory who first trusted in Christ. And so we obtain this by trusting in Christ. And what is our responsibility in all of this? We need to praise the Lord. And so, verse 6, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He made us accepted in the Beloved One, Jesus. And then verse 12, that we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Jesus. So when we trust in Jesus, we have all the benefits and blessings of this redemption. What is our responsibility? It's to praise Him for what He has done for us. All right, we are out of time. We need to go to prayer. Are there any final prayer requests before we go to prayer? Please come down to your prayer request. Call sign, please. Yeah, we can be somebody, though. Roger, please go ahead. I'm just praising the Holy Spirit today because the Holy Spirit has... impressed upon Mark an insight that I'm just thrilled about of the maturing of the adoption of Autumn into their new heart family and the maturing of those plans in Edmonds. And may the steps be fulfilled. The fulfillment of the merging. I was talking about the thresholds. Yeah, to merge one person into a family clan, as I attempted to do. is a huge threshold and it makes me all the more admiring of what God has done to us. Thank you for praying for the maturing of this plant. Over. Yeah, amen. Okay, so Mark has been helping Lodger to be able to find a new living situation for Autumn. Autumn is on our prayer list today. We'll be praying for her. and for her transition into a new living situation. Mark, thank you for helping Roger. And Roger, we praise the Lord with you that that process is in motion, and God willing it will result in a better situation for you and Darlene, and also a better situation for Autumn. So praise the Lord for that. Okay, any other prairie questions? Please come now. Alright, Jerry, AE7ER, please close in prayer for us. Good morning, Frank. That's good, Beck. Thank you. All right, anyone else, go ahead. That is funny.. Yeah, thank you, back. Appreciate that. I just wrote it down to pass on to grandkids over here. Yeah, Roger. I'm only on page two and I've got four pages total and hopefully there's no duplicates. I tried to go through them all but, you know, it requires memory from what you read before to realize that you're looking at a duplicate later on. Roger? Oh man, it does. That's what I say. I'm kind of, I don't want to, well, I don't want to repeat myself to the grandkids either. And I probably prefaced my comment. You may have heard this before but here it is. And I like the Dennis Award, our little plaque. That's certainly what I gave him over. - Yeah, I'll have Roger that. You know, it amazes me how God gives us patience, grace, and love when you talk to someone and they're getting up in years, and they're telling you the same story for the 20th time, and you listen to it intently, like as if it's your first. - That's how you show love. My father-in-law was that way. He told me the same story 20 times, and every time I acted like it was the first time I ever heard it, because I just wanted to say to him, you know, I love you, and what's going on in your brain is valuable to me. Over. Yeah, Roger, well, Sandy's dad was doing that when he was 98, 97 years old. Like what was interesting is even though it was the same story, the conversation that took place afterward would be different. Yeah, I copy that. And you know, that is really valuable. And you know, these things are burned into their memories. You know, I had a good friend of mine once who was in an auto accident. And because of the impact on his head, And eventually, you know, the scrambling calmed down and he, you know, went back to his normal self. And I just thought that was very interesting. And, you know, later on, he said to me, did I keep asking the same question? Because I think somebody else told him I didn't say anything to him, right? And I said, yeah, you did. But he needed that relief. He needed that momentary sense of relief. And I think when people are telling us a story again for the 32nd time, they need that sense of connection. And they need to feel like people hear them, people value their experiences, and they're still connecting with people. And so, you know, when you understand what's going on, you don't mock them and you don't ignore them. You know, you just act like the first time I ever heard it because you love them. And, you know, working with people who have dementia, it's just an opportunity to show unconditional love, concern, and connection so that their emotional needs are met for the next 35 seconds or however long it is that you can meet those needs. Over. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee. Yeah, you know, I'm not a psychologist, but I've studied people all my life in depth. And in my opinion, the reason why he asked you that question over and over again is because he really cared about your family's welfare. Yeah, he got his own wife and child who were in the car with him. So I'm sorry I wasn't clear about that, WB7MX. No, you were. Sandy said I missed it. Okay, no worries, yeah. But anyway, yeah, thanks for this conversation. This was a good conversation. Back to you, Ben. Thanks, Ben. Thanks, Ben. Thanks, Ben. Thanks, Ben. Thanks, Ben. Thanks, Ben. Yeah, Roger, did I tell you about the story about somebody saying something for the 30th time? Yes, you did, Beck, and let's have a discussion about that. Have a good WB7 event. Anyway, it's time for me to end my insulin and take care of myself and my duties. So everybody have a blessed day and look forward to tomorrow. Alpha 580, I'm going to be standing by. All right, AA5Y73, WB7MAX, stand by. WB7, reason L. Go ahead, Roger. Yeah, Beck, you're doing the right thing for sure. A big part of the seminar that I attended last weekend was to make sure those insulin levels do not go over 150. because it's hard on the hippocampus, those little, two little spots in the brain, you know, the Glen Campbell, we had his brain on the wall showing the vacancy that happened and The biggest plausible theory is that too many hits of blood sugar on that portion of the brain with our great American diet of concentrated sugar. But, yeah, take care of it. One of the situations that I experienced only once. was that Barbara, one of my parishioners, actually forgot of the death of her husband. And the multiple times that... had to be again emphasized that yes, he had passed away. So he grieved multiple times with the initial news. That's the only time that I've experienced it. I'm glad it's very rare. Go ahead, Max. - Sorry, I'm taking my chance. Yeah, that's right, Roger. Yeah, dealing with people who have, you know, perhaps some deficiency in their cognitive ability, whether it's dementia or Alzheimer's or whatever, yeah, they go through that same cycle over and over again. And that made it hard on her that she had to grieve over and over again. But, you know, I've dealt with a lot of people who have dementia and are, you know, in the And, you know, the hope in all of that is that on the other side, they're going to wake up fully conscious, fully cognizant, fully intact. And that's how they're going to be forever. And, you know, a really, really good friend of mine just died, 91, a fabulous preacher, amazing man of God. And yet in those last years, you know, he was just – incapable of hardly forming an intelligent thought or recognizing people and you look at who he used to be and who he was now and you realize how destructive sin is to the human body and yet right now he's uh he's got a better mind than he's ever had in his entire life And he's around the throne of grace praising the Lord. And I was so happy to see him die because, number one, he was ready. Number two, he had really nothing left in this life. He couldn't even communicate anymore. So it was time for him to go be with the Lord and be able to communicate once again and praise the Savior that he served all of his life. Yeah, dementia is an ugly thing. It's something we manage. It's something that salvation delivers us from. And what a blessing that is. Yeah, I've rambled here long enough. Back to you, Roger. Yeah, yes. I have a couple of pages of protecting that part of the brain. And I guess according to this research that we do make new cells for the hippocampus and every day. And if our lifestyle allows them to hang in there, we can keep from it progressing. It's a new theory that we don't have. We can do something about that progression. So there is hope. Yeah, that is remarkable what you just shared. When you find preachers that have such a marvelous gift of oral presentation and then to lose it. That happened to me and a good friend that preached to me when I was at one of the three churches in my district for years. And a stroke took out his ability to speak and why did he suffer as well. So, well, we, as you say, we love them and we're waiting for that great redemption. in my mode of thinking that resurrected glorified body. Thank you, Max. So I'm sorry, you know, I wish I could do better, but... Anyway, yeah, just text message me there, Mark. Did anybody pick up what Mark said? Can they give me a relay? Mark H: Yeah, this will kind of give you a heads up. He wanted to clarify that he never adopted, you know, in the personal way. I need clarification too, but I did catch that clarification. And Mark, we -- I cannot exaggerate what I said God was doing through our prayers from this net. and what the Holy Spirit was doing through you to bring about a impact that my wife was in an emotional state without the hormone, the female hormone, and it's going to get worse when they give her a drug to even reduce it further. Yeah. But at any rate, thank you, thank you for responding to the Spirit of God and reaching out to me through the phone yesterday. And what I hear with Autumn, my opinion that, you know, the timing wasn't such... because you have to hang in here in the county, in the county, because of probationary restrictions. She said, oh, well, I'm classified as homeless, which basically my wife, there was no other choice. There was no other option. If I'm classified as homeless, they'll approve this. And so she was quite positive of what's happening, which for Autumn is a miracle as well. and very impressed with the presentation of the Newhart, you know, the Newhart plate. That's a -- yeah, Mark, I didn't think Mark was saying he adopted a child. I think he was just talking about the process of adoption in relationship to redemption out of one country and into another.
