### Bible Study Summary: Ephesians

#### Introduction and Participants

Our Bible study began with a series of check-ins from various participants, each sharing their current status and needs. Lee AL7KG reported that his book business was progressing steadily, and Peter KJ7BA greeted everyone warmly. Jim 7BK relayed a message from Kevin KB7ZXN, who mentioned feeling much better and back in the groove. Brian KJ7PWM shared his prayers for a book-selling project, and Eric KD7ES and Dan INSA TNI also greeted the group. Roger WB7VZL mentioned his fellowship with Cherokee Yuma Pie in Oregon, and Carol KK7TPU indicated she had no prior requests. Jeff AK6OK shared that his radio problem was fixed, and he was ready for the net. Bruce was mentioned but did not check in, and Will and Beth shared their plans to work on a construction project, with Beth specifically asking for wisdom and protection. Glenn KJ7UMW also shared his prayers for proper management of his glaucoma.

#### Overview of Ephesians

The book of Ephesians was written by Apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome, around A.D. 60. It is one of the four Prison Epistles, which also include Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon. The Church at Ephesus was founded by Paul during his second missionary journey, and he pastored there for three years before visiting briefly again. The structure of Ephesians is divided into two main sections: chapters 1-3 focus on salvation in Christ, while chapters 4-6 cover sanctification in Christ. A key verse in Ephesians is 2:8-10, which states, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

#### Discussion Points

**Circular Letter**: Ephesians was intended to be circulated among all churches, making it a universal message for the early Christian communities. This aspect of the letter underscores its importance as a foundational text for understanding the grace of God and the role of faith in salvation.

**Grace and Peace**: The connection between understanding grace and living in peace with all men is a central theme in Ephesians. The concept of grace is not just about salvation but also about how one lives in the world. Living in peace with others is a direct result of understanding and accepting God's grace.

**Being in Christ**: The idea of "being in Christ" is a complex yet essential concept in Ephesians. It refers to the union with Christ, not to be confused with a simple association but a deep, spiritual union that transforms one's identity and purpose. This union is what enables believers to live out their faith in practical ways, engaging in good works as a response to God's grace.

#### Prayer Requests

The group shared various prayer requests, reflecting a range of needs and concerns. These included Steve's mother's care, Sandy's healing, Brian's neck pain, Jeff's energy levels, Ann's travel, Glenn's glaucoma, Lisa's pain, Keisha's liver transplant, Will's construction project, Ruth and Thomas's children's medical needs, Eldon's back pain, Gary's cancer, and Mike's sister Barbara's salvation. These requests highlight the diverse ways in which God's grace and peace can be sought and experienced.

#### Closing Prayer

The study concluded with a prayer of thankfulness for the passage and the book of Ephesians. Specific prayers were offered for each of the individuals mentioned in the prayer requests. The group also asked for grace and mercy to live out what was learned and for God to meet the needs of those in the circle of fellowship.

I think we've got everybody on on Utah. Yeah, we got Bruce, yeah. Okay, I think we're caught up on our STRs. I'll check them again as the net goes on. But let's get started with our net today. This is WB7MX, Net Control for West Coast Bible Study, and we finished the book of Galatians yesterday, and today we're going to move into the book of Ephesians. Ephesians was written by the Apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome. And we read of this imprisonment in Acts chapter 28. As you recall from the book of Acts chapter 28, Paul's been taken to Rome. He's in prison. He's there for quite a long time, waiting for his trial before Caesar And while he's there, about A.D. 60, he writes four letters. And this letter is the first of the four prison epistles that Paul wrote while he was waiting for his trial before Caesar. And so while he was in prison, he wrote Ephesians, which we're going to be looking at today. He wrote Philippians. that would have never occurred had not that negative situation happened. So even in the midst of bad things, God works them together for good. And here's a real clear example of that. And the point is they could imprison Paul, but they couldn't imprison the Gospels. And so, you know, every time somebody attempts to suppress the gospel by trying to silence voices, the voices are never silenced. It says of Abel, he being dead yet speaketh. So the voice of the gospel always goes forth. God's purposes are always achieved in spite of the worst. is a hindrance to the spread of the Gospel and the proclamation of God's Word. Well, this church at Ephesus was a church that was very precious to the Apostle Paul. Paul spent more time at Ephesus and had more involvement with this particular church than he did with any other church mentioned in the New Testament. Paul founded this church on his second missionary journey in Acts chapter 18. You can read about that there in Acts 18, where he started the church. And then Paul returned to this church on his third missionary journey and spent three years there. Imagine having the Apostle Paul as your pastor for three years. What kind of teaching they would have gotten. And we can read about that in Acts 19. And then Paul left after three years and ministered to the churches in Greece, but he then returned briefly for a farewell address to the church Ephesus in Acts chapter 20. So he starts the church in Acts 18, he pastors it for three years in Acts 19, and then he returns to give them a final exhortation in Acts 20. And then finally, he writes this letter to them after a few years of being gone after the Acts 20 final admonition. So Paul had a very deep personal and spiritual relationship with these people, and that's reflected in the depth and the detail of this letter that he wrote to them. Speaking of depth and detail, this is an incredibly doctrinally dense, book. When I preached through Ephesians, I preached 114 messages on this book because it's so doctrinally dense. And each word, each phrase is loaded with meaning. We're not going to go into it in that depth and to that degree. We're going to cover larger sections. But understand, there is a lot of doctrine in this book. In fact, that leads us to the outline of the book. And what we see here in chapters 1 to 3 is the salvation we have in Christ, and then in chapters 4 to 6, the sanctification we have in Christ. So he spends the first three chapters talking about the theology of salvation. And then in chapters 4 to 6, the last half of the book, he talks about how that works out in our personal, moral, ethical behavior. And so he talks about God's plan and provision for salvation. And then he prays that they would understand the salvation. He describes his salvation as God regenerating and saving the sinner, and then God reconciling Jew and Gentile into one body and one temple. So that's the salvation we have in Christ in chapters 1 to 3. And then in chapters 4 to 6, he talks about the unity we must pursue. He talks about the walk we need to cultivate. He talks about the walk we need to walk. He talks about the relationships we need to manage: husband, wife, parents, children, master, servant, etc. And then, of course, the warfare we need to fight, that is, putting on the whole armor of God. So, the theme of this book is the salvation and the sanctification of the believer by the Triune God. So, he talks about salvation, chapters 1 to 3, and sanctification, chapters 4 to 6, all accomplished by who? The Triune God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all mentioned explicitly in this book, indeed in the first chapter, as all working together in their various roles to accomplish our salvation. The key verse of this book is Ephesians 2, 8 through 10. Ephesians 2:8-10 says, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast for. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." So good works are denied as the basis for salvation. but good works are demanded as a result of salvation. And this key passage destroys both legalism, we're saved by works, and libertinism, it doesn't matter how we live. We're saved by grace, and we are to live in faithfulness and obedience to God's Word. And that's the balance and the beauty of the Gospel. Salvation by grace. and in sanctification by a diligent application of the means of grace to our lives as we work out that salvation we have been given with fear and with trembling. All right, well, that's a little introduction to the book. And what we're going to do today... is read verses 1 to 6. But before we read verses 1 to 6, we want to open our time together in prayer. And so, Will, Kilo Mike 5 Foxtrot, could you please open in prayer for us this morning? Okay, I'm glad to have you here. Gracious Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day, this day with each and every one of us listening to this precious message. Lord, we just ask for your blessings upon us as we read through Ephesians. Lord, we treat those that have health issues. Lord, you know all those issues and the needs. And we lift up those around us that have those needs. Lord, we ask for your guidance as we to the faithful in Christ Jesus. Grace be to you and to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him, in love having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He has made us accepted in the Beloved. All right, wonderful passage there. Great introduction to Paul's teaching here on the source of salvation. Any comments on this section, please come down to your call sign. Does that extend? Does that extend? Kevin, please go ahead. Well, thanks for that wonderful introduction to the book. It truly is, to me, one of the, it's a high watermark of spiritual understanding. in theological depth. It's kind of the high watermark, if you will. I just love this book so much and you're right. You can spend a lot of time and never exhaust the riches of this. It's kind of the Mount Everest, if you will, of the height of spiritual blessing. At the same time, it displays the deepest canyons of man's depravity and our need for salvation. And One of the things noted too, you'll notice kind of interesting about this letter is it was really, I think, intended to be a circular letter. I know the earliest manuscript we have of this, Chester Beatty manuscript, doesn't have the Church of Ephesus listed. And you'll notice that there's no specific references to individuals in that church. So many of his letters that are to specific churches do have those references. those references. But nevertheless, this is the church that was circulated widely, and what a blessing that we have it today. And I just want to take that introduction, and I'm going to sit and listen for comments on that, what you read there. KB7, is that acceptable? Yeah, thank you for that, Kevin. Yep, this letter was addressed to Ephesus, but it was a circular letter, as you said, and it was intended to be read by all the churches. And we could put our own church in there today. We could say Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Calvary Baptist Church there in Idaho. or fill in the blank with your church. So this is a letter to you and to your church. And what a blessing it is to know that the scriptures aren't addressed to some other people somewhere else far away, but all of this is God's word to us and for personal application. Kevin, thank you for that comment. Obviously, let me get near my mic here. This is obviously referred to as a circular letter. Does that mean it goes amongst all churches? That's correct, yeah. When Kevin mentioned it was a circular letter, you know, there are some manuscripts that don't include the word Ephesus in there. Others do. I think the majority of the evidence supports the inclusion of emphasis, but even if it doesn't, it doesn't matter, because it's written to all the believers. And yes, it was designed to be a circular letter, as are all the letters. Every one of them were copied and redistributed among other churches, and of course that's the reason why we have these letters. which tends to support what Kevin was saying, and that is that it was designed to be a circular letter. Now, you know, when you look at verse 21 of chapter 6, it says that you may also know my affairs and how I do. Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things. whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose that you might know our affairs, and he might comfort your hearts. That seems like pretty personal to me. And it seems like there was a very specific audience he had in mind when he wrote those two verses. But nevertheless, you know, there's no point in... and going to war over whether this was written to Ephesus or whether this was a circular letter. The point is the content of the letter is such that it applies to all of us. Back to you there, Jeff. Okay, very well spoken, as you say. In the message version, as you write in the first sentence, I am under God's plan as an apostle, a special agent of Christ Jesus. I love that. And I love Ephesians, as you'll notice, on a military coin that we send around. Ephesians 6 is printed on the outside of that coin around the edge. Over. Over. Yeah, copy that. I got that coin right here in my hand and I see that and that's an amazing verse to support Operation Worship. So thank you for that. All right. Any other comments on this section, please come down. Mark's out there. Mark, KJ7PVT, please go ahead. Yes, okay, Mark, good suggestion. All right, Mark, KJ7PVT suggested that we turn to Revelation chapter 2 and read the letter to Ephesus. So Revelation chapter 2. Now, this book of Ephesus was written about 60 A.D. and Revelation was written about 95 A.D. So here we are 30 to 35 years later, and what we can see is how this church at Ephesus continued to be faithful to the gospel. Now, they had some issues, like all churches do, and we're going to talk about those issues in a second. Yeah, let's read that. Mark, thank you for that suggestion. Revelation chapter 2, Revelation chapter 2, and we'll read together verses 1 through 7. Revelation 2, 1 to 7, "...under the angel of the church at Ephesus write, These things did he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, I know thy works, and thy labor, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil, and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars." and hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast labored, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember, therefore, whence art fallen, and repent, and do the first work." Or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. But this thou hast, thou hatest the deeds of a Nicolaitan, which I also hate. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit hath unto the churches. He that overcometh, will I give to eat of the tree of life. which is in the midst of the Paradise of God. So what we see here, Mark, is in this church, 30 to 35 years later, they are still being really, really faithful to uphold the doctrine of the Scriptures. and they are really good at exposing and rejecting false teachers. But they become so busy in the work that they've forgotten who they're doing the work for. And so when it says here they left their first love, it doesn't mean they rejected Christ, it just means they neglected Christ. And the neglect of our personal heart relationship with Christ, our walk with Him, our imitation of Him, our continual focus on Him, begin to lack and to wane in their lives. And so he's saying, you know, you're doing a lot of things right. Your doctrine is really good, but where you're lacking is in your affection and love for me. And so we read there, Mark, in the book of Jude, keep yourselves in the love of God. And the idea there is keep up your love for God, because it's easy for us to neglect God. that love we should have for Christ and for the Father and the Spirit in the busyness of ministry. So, Mark, thank you for suggesting that we read Revelation chapter 2 about the church at Ephesus there, because this is a further mention of this important church in the Scriptures. All right. So, Mark, back to you. Any further comments? Go ahead there, Mark. KJ7PVT. Thank you, Max. That was wonderful. Alright, unable to copy, is Mark still talking? Yes, sir. Yes. Okay. Relay. Okay, he's done. is all because of His grace. He's the one that produces it in us. I think the word help is what I'm trying to grasp at. Without God's grace, which is help, He actually gives us what we need in order to bring it. us close to him and in obedience to him and walking in obedience to him and with him. And that, out of that, then is when we understand and we really can grasp on and experience what it means to have peace with God. Jesus 6, YSI. Yeah, Steve, really well said. The better we understand grace, the more peace we have. So, you know, as I said, we have peace and justification, therefore being justified by faith. We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. And in our walk, Ephesians 1 and verse 6, strike that, Ephesians 4 and verse 6, be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving... let your request be made known to God, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. And so we have these ongoing supplies of peace given to us as we go to God in prayer. We commit all of our cares to Him, all of our sins. all of our circumstances, all of our struggles, and we say, Lord, help me. Like Peter, we're sinking under the sea. Lord, help me. And Jesus reaches out with his hand and lifts him up. And how many times have we troubled other things, and we go to God and pray. We cast all of our cares upon him, knowing he cares for us. and we have God's peace, both at our justification and our sanctification. All right, other comments on this passage, please come now. Is that XM? Okay, I think I heard Kevin. Kevin, was that you? Go ahead. Yeah, KB7, is that XM? I just, and thank you, Steve, for that. I couldn't agree more. It's a... In many ways, the theme of this book of Ephesians is living in Christ. I think it's mentioned 26 or 27 times. And you don't see that in the Gospels. The reference to in Christ is not there. You know, at the Lord's Supper, you know, they were with Christ. Following the resurrection, they were with Christ. But here, Paul... I think over 160 times in the New Testament refers to the phrase, being in Christ. And sometimes it seems like people struggle with the concept of that. What does that mean to be in Christ? And certainly the world is confused about that. But sometimes believers... search for understanding of that as well. And I think the concept is not as complex as it ties right into the next verse there. Because in Christ, you know, people don't have a difficulty understanding the concept of being in business or being in love, though it's kind of an abstract term, if you will. But when someone says, oh, I'm in love, well, we all kind of understand what that is. But being in Christ should not be confusing to us at all. I... look at it kind of like the atmosphere. I'm in the atmosphere, but I breathe, and the atmosphere is in me. And, you know, as we walk with our Lord, as we walk in faith, as we are blessed by the sealing and the dwelling of the Spirit, which Paul is soon to talk about here, we are also living in Christ, and as we walk in the Spirit. And so, anyway, I think it's just It's worth taking note of this phrase because we're going to see it over and over again in this text, and it should not be confusing to us at all in there. KB7, is that acceptable? Yeah, Kevin, thank you for that comment. I couldn't agree more. Being in union with Christ is so critically, critically important. All right, I think what we'll do tomorrow is take up this passage again. because zero comments were made on others three, four, five, and six. And those crave address. We'll focus on those tomorrow. We had a great discussion today. Like I said, there's a lot here, and it's important that we at least cover at a basic level what is here. So we're going to return back to this passage tomorrow and focus on that. verses 3, 4, 5, and 6. All right, we are out of time. We need to close in prayer. And I just got a text of some kind. Let me look and see what this is. I think it's for the net, so let me check that. Let's see. I got a text from Brian KJ7PWM. And Brian gave us a scripture reference of Hebrews 12, 14-15. It says, "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble to defile many." And then Brian adds to that this comment, I feel like this fits in with the grace as well. Brian, it absolutely does. When we miss the grace of God, verse 15, we don't live in peace with all men, verse 14 of Hebrews 12 there. And so we see this connection between grace and peace over and over and over and over again. And if we don't understand grace and we don't live in grace, then we're never going to live in peace. with all men. There's always going to be conflict, there's always going to be war, there's always going to be alienation, separation, because if we don't understand grace, then we're never going to have peace. And those two things are intimately connected. especially in relationship to our interaction with other people. So, Brian, thank you for that text message comment. We really appreciate that. That's Brian KJ7, PWM. Okay, we need to go to prayer. Are there any final prayer requests before I lead us in prayer? Please come down. All right, well, let's go to the Lord in prayer. Our kind and gracious Holy Father, we thank you for this wonderful passage. There's so much here and so much to learn. And Father, thank you for giving us this precious book. Every phrase within it is loaded with meaning and application, and each phrase is a wonderful revelation of your glory. and of your mind and heart toward your people. And Father, we thank you for who you are. We thank you for what you have done, and especially what you have done in relationship to us and Christ. Father, thank you for the union we have with Jesus. And may that union result in not only a growth in our Christ life, but also in our praise and worship and service. Father, we have some needs today that we want to bring before you. And the first is we're praying for Steve, a W6YSI, who is struggling with his mom's Maryland end-of-life care. Father, he needs to have wisdom. He needs to have clarity. He needs to have direction as to what he should do in relationship to her and her medical needs. Father, not only for the immediate moment, Lord, she has COVID and pneumonia presently, but if you're pleased to heal her of that, Father, for a living situation in the future. And so, Father, I pray that Steve and Leslie would have wisdom, that they would agree together on your will for how they should care for their mother in her older years. Thank you. Father, for the fact that they're honoring their mother by the care they show to her and for her in obedience to your word. Lord, give them strength and give them wisdom. Father, we continue to pray for our sister Sandy, W7SAB, and her healing from her hip surgery. Lord, I just pray that you would continue to strengthen her and give her freedom from being in full mobility. Lord, we recognize that today Jerry was supposed to have eye surgery while I got put off. until May 20th. Or pardon me, until, yeah, I think it was May 20th. In any event, whenever it is, Father, I pray that it will go well then. Give Alan and Jerry patience, Father, for that upcoming date. And, Lord, we just trust that you were working things together for good for Al and Jerry. You delayed Jerry's eye surgery. Father, we continue to pray for our brother Brian, K-7ZIP, and for the healing of his neck pain. Father, he needs work. He needs to sleep. He needs freedom from pain. Have mercy on him, Lord. And be with our brother Jeff, K-6OK. Strengthen him, Father. Restore his energy levels. And, Father, give him encouragement today. And Father, may He do that responsibility. Lord, thank You that Brian continues to have success with his sheep and just continue to have a healthy lambs way. That last ewe, go ahead and drop her little sheep and may it be healthy and well. Father, continue to open doors in Fiji for the medical dental clinic there that Doc W6ROJ is involved with. And Lord, I pray. so that he would know success and blessing in that mission, not only of healing, Father, but also of evangelism in leading the people of Fiji to Christ. Lord, we pray for our brother Lee, AL7KG, and for the success of his book-selling business. Lord, as he studies and learns, What he needs to do, Father, give him wisdom, understanding, and may he make good choices that result in a profitable outcome for him. And now, Lord, we also want to pray for Ann, Ed, N6XOH's wife, who is flying to Sacramento today. around 1 this afternoon. Give her a safe journey, a blessed time with a great grandchild. And Father, a safe journey home on April 21. Lord, be with Ed while she's gone. Just give him encouragement as well. Lord, we continue to pray for Glenn, KJ7UMW, the proper management of his glaucoma. Father, I pray that he would know healthy eyes. and, Lord, freedom from any kind of pain. Lord, we just want to thank you for the other needs we have on our big list. Father, we want to pray today for Lisa Medina. Lord, that you would heal her of her upper back and neck pain. Father, I pray that you would give her skill and wisdom as she works at the Crisis Pregnancy Center to turn young girls away from getting an abortion to having their babies. Father, we pray that you would save the babies. And Lord, that you would not only save them spiritually, but then spiritually, that they would come to faith in Christ. Father, we continue to pray for Keisha who needs a liver transplant. We pray also for her salvation and for Will's ministry to her. Father, we understand that Will is going to be going to Salt Lake soon to work on a construction project for a few days and he'll be absent from us. Lord, may your good hand of blessing be on him as he labors there in Salt Lake City and Father, may the work go well. And Lord, may your good and end of blessing be upon it. Father, we just pray for Ed, the N6XLH's niece. Lord, that you would be pleased to give Ruth and Thomas wisdom in caring for the medical needs of their children. Meet those medical needs, Father. And may both Ruth and Thomas... know not only blessing themselves, but blessing in the lives of their children and blessing in the work that Thomas does. Lord, we ask that you would heal Eldon, KF7FIA, of his back. Father, I just pray that you would have mercy on him and may he flourish in his walk with you. And it is witness for you even through that chronic pain. Father, we thank you for Gary, W6GLB, J.R.'s friend, who has stage 4 cancer and is receiving immunotherapy. Thank you for the good reports we've gotten of the improvement that he has achieved through that. And Lord, I just pray that there would be a complete healing for Gary from his stage 4 cancer. Father, we continue to pray for our brother Mike, W7WO, and his sister Barbara. Father, who needs salvation. Lord, I just pray that... Barbara would humble down, abandon her self-righteousness, cast herself at the feet of Jesus and cry out, Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner. And now, Lord, we just want to thank you for your goodness and your mercy and your grace to us. Thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ. And as we learn about him in the book of Ephesians, may our esteem of him, our understanding of him, and our love for him be vastly multiplied. And Father, may we not like the church at Ephesus lose our first love, but instead actually increase. our first love. Thank you, Father, for each one who checked in today. May your good hand and blessing be upon them. In Jesus' name we ask it. Amen. All right, this is WB7MX, Net Control for the West Coast Bible Study. I want to thank all the stations who checked in and those who stood by to give us a clear operating frequency. We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m. in order to read the Scriptures. understand their meaning, message, and application, and then pray for grace and mercy to be able to live out what we learn and for God to meet the needs of those that are in our circle of fellowship. I'll be returning the frequency now to regular amateur use. This is WB7MAX. I'll be clear and standing by. South Alpha 5E with today's joke. All right, back AA5Y, please come ahead. Okay, this is a hard one. You're gonna have to really think hard on this, Max. What kind of award did the dentist get? What kind of an award did the dentist get? Um, uh... Let's see. Um, a crown? Plaque. Yep, a little plaque. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! He got a little plaque, that's good. Well I like to hear that I have a little plaque when I go into the disk, but unfortunately I generally have quite a bit. I tend to produce that for some reason. But Beck, that's great, thank you for that. Alright, WB7MAX, stand by. Well, wait a minute. We want to know who got it right. Was that Roger? Oh, did somebody get it right? Yeah. Oh, it was me, KP7, that XCN. That was funny, though. It took a minute. Good one, Kevin. Well, you make it think, Beck. All right, Kevin, you get the crown for getting the answer to the joke right. Over. You done that? Yeah, as long as I don't have to go to the dentist, that's good, but it's one of those necessary duties. Yeah, copy that. Okay. Alright, real good. WB7MAX, stand by. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankees standing by. WB7, visit L. Roger, please go ahead. I want to thank you. I thank you, Beck, but that is certainly true. I've really had dental attention lately. And it's big time anti-plaque recession of the gums. Oh my, it's pretty sobering. Don't get old, Beck. It's too late for that one. yeah and then i i had my first oral surgery big time besides my wisdom wisdom teeth way back you know when i was at late teens but this this was a bad injection and had gone into the jawbone so i've been highly acquainted with my Mormon dentist. And his wife is the one that really was the kingpin for the Lamb of God. He met with about 200 of us here at the University Church platform. She's right there with him. Quite the person for sure. Well anyway, that's more than you probably wanted to know. But anyway, I like the joke. Thank you, Rick. Yeah, Roger, no, that wasn't more than I wanted to know. In fact, I want to add something to that that you've done us to never tell you. OK. Okay. You know, they say you want to use a soft or a medium toothbrush. Well, that's wrong. When I was in the Marine Corps, they taught us how to brush our teeth. Yes, there is a way to brush your teeth. You don't brush up and down because when you do that, you shove whatever's on your teeth up into your guns. you brush side to side. The other thing is, you don't use a soft or medium toothbrush, you use a hard toothbrush. And when you brush your teeth, you not only brush your teeth, but you brush your gums, too. They gave me this little red iodine pill or something, I don't know what it was. They gave it to us all. and we had to brush our teeth and what we had to do was brush our teeth until we didn't see little red spots anymore and those little red spots was the plaque that was on our teeth and when we got it all gone then you know we were okay and we learned you have to spend like five minutes brushing your teeth and your gums hard side to side, not up and down, to get your teeth clean. That's how I brush my teeth. And my gums do bleed a little bit, not because of the virus, but because of how hard I brush. And every time I go into the dentist, I hear the same thing. Your gums are great. You're taking good care of your teeth. But if I tell him what I told you just now, then he'll argue with me. Well, that's a great story, Beck. That really is. Uh, thank you for sharing that with me. I could have used that many years ago, uh, from the Marines, so to speak. Over. Yeah, Roger. Well, um, reverse roof canals, just tell me what you had, Arden. Not fun. I had one myself. Well, actually, they, fortunately, one of the tests they did on this infection that was below the gum, coming into the, and they wanted to know whether the tooth was alive, and of course they did. They had some cold air, or cold whatever. They put something cold on my tooth and I raised my hand. Yes, I sure feel that. And so they said that's a good thing. It's still alive. And so now I take a little tiny, little tiny brush. a circular brush, and I actually take care of a pocket that I go underneath that molar that is so precious, over. - Yeah, Roger, I use this toothpick. I don't know what the needle did there. Um, brush picks. So brush picks. And it's got like an arrow on-- the whole thing looks kind of like an arrow. That one point goes from a point and gets wider and fatter as your gaps in your teeth do that. You know, they're not just a perfect hole. And the other end looks like the feathers on the end of an arrow. And that's the end that I use. I've got a cap. and it's got a bridge and I have a hole that's in between my teeth and it gets full of whatever I'm eating and there's really, you can't get dental floss into it because the dental floss can't come down from the top end because of the bridge. So that little toothpick that I use with the little arrows on the or feathers on the end of the toothpick goes right in there and pops it out and helps keep my teeth clean, Roger. Roger. Yes, there are some wonderful tools available. And of course this one has a 90 degree turn. So then I, fortunately I have a mirror that is an amplifying mirror and a lighted mirror. I got some goodwill a month or two ago. My wife found it. And it has really been helpful to find that very small little hole that I have to put these things in. I couldn't find it without the visuals. And so, yeah, it's quite a procedure. And he's really been very helpful. And so anyway, I've been very blessed, hugely blessed by the intervention of this dentist and his wife too and their friendship. WB7VZL, thank you, Barry. Hey, no problem. Believe it or not, when I had that reverse root canal, when I started having teeth problems, is when I switched because my dentist insisted that I needed to go to a softer toothbrush and start brushing up and down. Yeah. Well, my dentist insisted on, here at the Green, that one of those toothbrushes that vibrate vibrates as though it's so fast. And so that's what I'm using now for the first time battery operated. It just vibrates. Excuse me, I'm calling. Yeah, Roger. Well, I wish they would invent the proper toothbrush. And what I mean by that is you have like a floor waxer in the old days. You don't have one pad, but you have two side by side. And they both spin in it would be the opposite direction, so they pull everything from the center in and kick it out the back. And that, I would like to see a toothbrush like that, so as you're doing the top of your gums, you can have it pulling from the top down, and then when you do your bottom gums, you can flip a switch and turn it the other direction, so it would pull the stuff from the bottom of your gums up. That would be the proper toothbrush, but nobody's invented it yet. Well, yeah, another thing that he, yeah, this toothbrush is, you know, it's not cheap, you know. He even gave me a coupon to encourage me to go that direction. The other thing is that he has this very... very wonderful, well, it's not wonderfully expensive, but it's a mouthwash. That is not, it's kind of a natural, but the pH is not so strong. And he has me... doing mouthwash every every time because of like the condition of it. Now Roger do you have used that old nasty original formula of looser ream? No you know this is the first time I've done mouthwash so I've never used those more severe types, over. Yeah, Roger, well, that Listerine, the old style, not flavored, the nasty Listerine, that's the best stuff. Yeah, this, this, uh, well, I... Anyways, this is what he recommends. So it really is not nasty. In fact, it's too good. They have to say don't swallow it. Yeah, Roger, you know you can use a little peroxide and not swallow it, and it will probably do the same thing as what you're using. Yeah. I haven't gotten into it that deep. At any rate, I hope to be a cooperative patient over it. Roger that. Okay, well, hey, I need to get out of here and take my insulin and get my day rolling. Roger that. This is KJ7UMW, comment. Hi Glenn. Hey guys, um, we talked about ultra vibrating heat trucks. Uh, believe it or not, uh, cold heat makes one. And in family and home and all that kind of stuff. really effective vibration-wise. And I spent about $100,000 on it. I just say that. And I just have to talk to all of you. And I noticed that that's where I started using it. I have several people who are, you know, on the point of vibration and stuff like that. And all that stuff. But I've been using it now for two years. And, you know, you buy a whole new one, every time, but I'm very satisfied with it. And when I do the tongue feel on my tooth, I can't feel as much as I used to. So, my comment is, you can't have it with your MW. Whatever works, right? and avoidable. - Yeah, yeah, thank you for sharing that. Yes, I was kind of under sticker shot too. Phillips is the one that I'm using and I kind of chose the middle of the road, but it sure was a new experience for my mouth to go that route. But I'm glad I'm using Colgate
