### Bible Study Summary: Galatians 3:22-29

#### General Updates and Prayers

The Bible study began with updates and prayers for various members of the community. Sandy's recovery from surgery was progressing well, though she was still experiencing some soreness. Brian KJ7PWM was continuing to assist with lamb births, and Beck reported a successful surgery for Sharon, with another eye surgery scheduled for April 15th. Patty, AK6OK's wife, was also undergoing eye surgery on Friday at 5:30 AM. Dailene was in the midst of her radiation treatments, with a total of 20 sessions planned. Gene was receiving spiritual guidance from Roger and was considering baptism, and Carol KK7TPO provided an update on Amy's breast cancer recovery and upcoming radiation treatment. Lee AL7KG commented on the transition between the old and new covenants, while George K2KJX sought information on the Artemis II echo link node. Jerry KG6J, a new member with a German Jewish background, was working remotely and contributing to the group.

#### Bible Study: Galatians 3:22-29

Beck, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, read Galatians 3:22-29, which includes several key themes and discussion points:

- **Covenantal Transition**: The passage discusses the transition from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant. The Old Covenant was characterized by the law, which was meant to reveal sin and point to the need for a savior. The New Covenant, established through Jesus Christ, offers salvation by faith in Him. This transition is a central theme in understanding the fulfillment of God's promises and the role of faith in salvation.

- **Holy Spirit as Tutor**: In verse 24, the Holy Spirit is described as a tutor, leading us to Christ. The Spirit convicts us of sin, righteousness, and judgment, preparing us to receive Christ and live in accordance with His teachings. This role of the Holy Spirit is crucial for understanding how believers are guided and transformed in their faith journey.

- **Gender**: The passage also touches on the concept of gender, emphasizing the binary nature of male and female. This can lead to discussions about the importance of recognizing and respecting gender roles within the context of God's design.

- **Romans 1**: The passage alludes to Romans 1, where Paul addresses the pagan world's behavior and the need for redemption. This can be a point of reflection on how the gospel offers salvation to all, regardless of their past actions or societal norms.

- **Free Speech**: The mention of a Supreme Court ruling allowing counselors to speak freely can be linked to the broader theme of freedom in Christ. This freedom is not just legal but spiritual, allowing believers to live and speak according to their faith without fear.

- **Verse 28**: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." This verse emphasizes the equality of all people in God's kingdom, regardless of their background or social status. It challenges the idea of discrimination and calls for unity in Christ.

- **Verse 23**: "Before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed." This verse highlights the relationship between faith and the law. The law was a temporary measure to guide people until the coming of Christ, who fulfilled the law and offered salvation through faith.

- **Verse 29**: "If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise." This verse connects believers to the promises made to Abraham, emphasizing the inheritance and blessings available to those who are in Christ.

- **Hebrews 10**: The passage can also be linked to Hebrews 10, which discusses the final sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which replaces the need for ongoing sacrifices under the Old Covenant. This underscores the completeness of Christ's work and the sufficiency of His sacrifice.

- **Legalism**: The study of this passage can also address the issue of legalism, emphasizing that salvation is by faith, not by works. This can be a point of discussion on how to avoid falling into legalistic practices and instead focus on living in faith.

- **Sanctification**: The passage also touches on the process of sanctification, or growth in Christ through the Holy Spirit. This can be a point of reflection on how believers can grow in their faith and live out their salvation in practical ways.

#### Prayer Requests

The Bible study concluded with a series of prayer requests for various members and situations, including recovery and healing, success in lamb season, support for caregivers, clarity in understanding baptism, post-cancer treatment, recovery of taste and smell after COVID, opportunities to share the gospel, salvation of family members, protection of victims of child abuse, protection of a nephew, financial needs for Bible and chapels, safety of astronauts, and wisdom for leaders.

#### Closing Prayer

Al, KJ7QQH, led a closing prayer for all mentioned individuals and situations, asking for grace and mercy to live out what was learned.

#### Discussion Questions

1. How does the transition from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant impact our understanding of salvation?
2. In what ways does the Holy Spirit act as a tutor in our lives, leading us to Christ?
3. How can we apply the principle of equality in Christ to our daily lives and interactions with others?
4. What does it mean to be "one in Christ Jesus," and how can this unity be reflected in our communities?
5. How can we avoid falling into legalism and instead focus on living in faith?
6. How does the concept of sanctification play a role in our spiritual growth and daily lives?

This Bible study provides a rich foundation for exploring the themes of covenantal transition, the role of the Holy Spirit, and the importance of faith and equality in Christ.

With reference to the solar storm and we are able to talk so we're grateful to God for that. Thank you for the update on Sandy, W7SAB. I didn't get the email from Beck. I just checked my email and there's nothing there from him. But glad to hear that the surgery went well and that she's sore. But she is recovering. They haven't released her yet but that will come in due time. And then, yep, I just talked with Al, KJ7QQH. He's on frequency. He's going to lead us in closing prayer today, and he gave us a good report on Jerry as well. So you're right. Blessings all around. God is good, and we are grateful. And Kevin, strike that. Brian, KJ7PWM continues to have lambs. And I keep getting extras and updates on that. And so, let's see, I just finished bottle feeding. We'll check in a minute. Yeah, Brian and Anna have energy. My alarm didn't work this morning. I was supposed to be doing this at 4:00, and it took the midnight shift. So basically what the deal is, is Brian and Anna have to attend the sheep as they have their babies. to assist if there's any problems. Most of the time, a sheep is able to have a baby fine, but if there's a problem and there's a human there, they can intervene and save the baby and the mom, if perhaps that's an issue. So what they're doing is they're staying up like 24 hours a day to tend these sheep, taking shifts. And anyway, so that's Brian at KG7PWM in his white IANNAS. And they've got five ewes left yet to give birth. So they've had a bunch. I think 14 lambs so far. And they've got six ewes who have not yet given birth. So anyway, they're more than halfway there, but they've got a ways yet to go. All right, that's Brian KJ7PWM. All right, any other check-ins this morning? Let's see. Yeah, any other check-ins, please come down. WS7SAB and Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, good morning, Pastor Max and the group. Sandy is home. Okay, real good. We had a double there, and, Will, I'll get to you in a second. But first back, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, you are home. Sandy is home. That's good news. We just heard from Bert. And appreciate you checking in. How's your lovely bride doing? Good. Oh, she is sore. And the problem is when she has to do her thing, it's right when she needs to take her pill. And instead of in the middle of taking pills, when it would be easier on her body as far as pain is concerned. But she'll survive. She did it with both knees and her foot. Yeah, copy that. Okay, well, we'll pray for freedom from pain for Sandy and for rapidity of recovery and healing. So, Beck, we're really pleased that you did a safe trip over in Bag. God gave a successful surgery, and it's just a matter of the body healing up now. So, Beck, real good. And Al, KJ7QKH is going to be praying for us today, and we've got Sandy on the list. Anything else there, Beck? Go ahead. No, that's about it. I wrote a song and I was wondering if maybe you might look at it for me to make sure that it's proper as far as being biblically correct. Yeah, copy that. I'd be glad to do that. Yeah, just email it to me and I will be glad to look at that after the net and respond to you. Okay, and then we also heard from Will. Keele Lake 5 Foxtrot. Good morning, Will. How you doing? Good morning. It's been raining a lot here, so my driveway, you know, my driveway and my garage is going to be soaked in water because of the way it's set. The rain hits the garage door and then goes down and then goes under the door. No new prairie cleft. Okay, I'll fly that. Alright, sounds like you're going to have to get a mop out there, Will. The way the rain is driving the water through the garage door edges and seals. So, anyway, Will, thanks for being with us. Will, can you give us a report on how the class went? I think you taught some AMS class last night, is that correct? Over. Yeah, it was supposed to go two and a half hours, but by 8:00, 8 o'clock, six days, like 8 o'clock, the search point scans were not enough, and we cut it short. But other than that, it went well. Came from it. Yeah, copy that. What were you teaching them? Were you teaching them, like, getting ready for the general class or something, or was it something else? I was talking to them about the technician class, and a video. Okay, you'll find that. Okay, copy that. Technician's class. Yep, well, appreciate you doing that, getting guys through that and getting them to pass the test. Alright, real good. Alright, WB7MAX here, continue to look for check-ins. Please come down. WB7VZL. Okay, I think we had a double there, but I did get Roger. WB7VZL, good morning, Roger. How you doing? Better than I deserve. Romans 3. Copy that, copy that. So is Dalyan scheduled for another radiation treatment today or soon? Yes, I think it's every day. So that's how her life and my life at times. But yeah, it's happening. Yeah, copy that, copy that. Okay, well, so Dailene's having radiation every day, Al, and so we need to just pray for that until it's over. I think there's like, what, 16 treatments or something? Yeah, I think the total is 20, but I did -- there's a kind of a separation. I can't remember the distinction between the four and the rest of the 16 to make up 20. Yeah, real good. Okay, copy that, copy that. Okay, let's see, there was another station in there alongside Roger, other station trying to check in. Please come now. KB7ZXN. Okay, there he is, Kevin, KB7ZXN, got you checked in. Any prayer requests, Kevin? Good morning, Max, and just a quick comment on Brian there, demonstrating the importance of a good shepherd and how blessed we are to have the guidance and watchful eye of the great shepherd. And prayers for Darlene. here too as well. KB7 is that example. Yeah, real good. So yeah, Brian and Anna are good shepherds there taking care of the sheep. There's nothing like having sheep to make you appreciate God taking care of us as his sheep, the sheep of his pasture. So, praise the Lord for that. All right, real good. Any final check-ins before we go to our lesson today? Please come down. Follow-up prayer request? A follow-up prayer request. Go ahead. Yes, I have a dinner appointment with Gene, who first called me and wanted to be baptized. And in the context of our discussion, I want to make sure the Gospel is clear to him as well. Over. All right, real good. So Gene, Roger has been ministering to Gene, and Gene wants to be baptized, and just that Roger would be able to create clarity in Gene's mind about what that's about and about what he is saying by his baptism. So, Roger, appreciate that. Let's pray for Gene and for his baptism. Okay, I think there's someone else in there. Other station, come now. Hey, y'all, 7-8-G. Alright, we've got Lee AL7KG. Lee, we got you checked in. How you doing, brother? Pretty good, steady as she goes. Alright, real good, Lee. Good to have you with us. And we got you checked in. Appreciate you being there, brother. And it's always good to hear your voice. That's Lee AL7KG. Alright, anyone else need to check in before we get started? Go ahead. K2KJX. Okay, there's George, K2KGX. Good morning, George. How are you doing? Good morning. Doing well. No new prayer requests. And I've been looking to try to see if I can -- if anybody knows the Artemis II echo link node, if anybody has that. Also, I will pray for Roger and Daylene today. Also, K2KJX. All right, real good. After the net, if anybody wants to contact George for the Artemis II echo link node, he would appreciate that and, of course, continue to pray for Daylene. Thank you, George, K2KJX. All right, anyone else, please come down. K6LBP. Okay, I heard a station. Station, please come again. The K6LBP, Max, just wanted you to know you acknowledged me earlier on the SDR, but I wasn't ready to transmit yet. I had some other things going here. Good morning, K6LBP, God bless you. No prayer requests. All right, good copy, JR. Yeah, K6LVP, appreciate you being there. Your voice comes through really well. There was a blast of static there when you first checked in on my end, so no worries on that. JR, thank you for being there, and thanks for giving us your voice. Appreciate that. All right, that's JR, K6LVP, listening along with us. All right, any other check-ins, come now. Okay. Okay, I think I heard Darrell, WB7AOT Darrell, come ahead. Okay, can I get a relay on that call sign from anybody? Anybody copy that call sign? Come again, station. Zero, zero, seven. It's a zero, pop a whiskey something. Pop a whiskey, Mike. JJ7PW? Pop a whiskey, Mike. Pop a whiskey, Mike. Oh, okay, that's Brian, KJ7PWM. Brian, good morning. How are you doing, brother? I'm hanging in there. It's a little weak for me, so let's get going. All right, Brian, KJ7PWM is hanging in there, and he seems to be doing good. So got your text message, Brian, and we got you and the lambs on the lift, as well as, of course, Anna. So anyway, appreciate you being there. Thank you. All right, I got an update from Carol KK7TPO on Amy and her breast cancer. And Al, as I recall, Amy is on the Monday prayer request list. Let me just check that for a second. Got to get in there. Yeah, so Amy, a Christian, recent breast cancer surgery, pray for recovery. That's Carol taking some TPO. That's on her Monday list. And basically what Amy had to say about her breast cancer is this: "I made it through surgery and a gazillion appointments. and am on my way to Arizona for two weeks right now. I start six weeks of radiation when I get back. I'm doing pretty good, tired, but I'm alive. So amen on that. And so let's pray for Amy. That's KK7TPO's friend, Amy, who is a believer. And just for safety on her trip and success for her radiation treatment. Copy there, Al? All right, so that would like to acknowledge Gene K7 GWR. Good morning, Gene. See you there on the Utah SDR. All right, I will check those again after a while, but for now we need to get started with our Bible study. We're a little behind schedule here with the late check-ins and prayer requests, but that's okay. All right, let's get started. Let's open in prayer today. And, Beck, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, I'm going to ask you to do our reading, so you might be ready for that. So, if you could read Galatians 3:22-29, that would be great. Will, KOMI5 Foxtrot, could you please open in prayer for us today? Will Smith: Okay, I'm by the sure. In the grace of the Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day. for every person that's on the net today in the ark. We just pray for Brian and his family, that they will all be healthy again. We ask for your blessings on those that have health issues, Lord, lift them up. We also pray for Max as he leads the Bible study. We ask for your blessings upon this nation, too, in this time of turmoil. In Christ's name, amen. Well, thank you so much for the prayer. I really appreciate that. All right. Beck, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, are you able to read for us, or do you need to take care of Sandy? Over. No, sir. I'd be more than honored to read. Thank you. Okay, so what we got here, Beck, is Galatians 3, 22 to 29. That's Galatians 3, 22 to 29. Go ahead. Yeah, Roger. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, and I'm reading from the new King James Version. And this time I really am reading from it. Last time I was reading King James, and I apologize for that. Verse 22: "But the scripture has confined all understanding, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by law, kept for faith which would afterward be revealed." Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God, through Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek. There is neither slave nor free. There is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ, then you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, back to next. All right, Beck, real good reading. Thank you for that. Okay, so this section that we're dealing with here is dealing with covenantal transition. We're talking about the Abrahamic covenant earlier, back up in verse 14 and 15 and 16. And then we talked about the Old Covenant. came along 430 years later, verses 17 and following. And now we're talking about the new covenant. So covenantal transition here and the unfolding of God's redemptive purposes through his covenantal arrangements, what each of those covenants was for and what they were about. All right, any comments on this section, please come out. I'd like to throw out this idea, Max, WB7V0. Roger, go ahead. That according to Jeremiah 31, with the new covenant, the tutor is the best tutor we could have in the world. The tutor in verse 24, now in the new covenant, is the Holy Spirit who writes that law on our hearts, over. Yeah, amen. And so, you know, we have a historical tutor, which was the old covenant that preserved Israel until Jesus would come. But now we've got the Holy Spirit, as you well said, to convict us of sin and righteousness and of judgment that we need to be saved. And then he's the one, he's the agent of regeneration. He causes the new birth to take place. and then he's the means of preservation. He indwells and heals us, and through him we're adopted into the family of God. And, of course, he illuminates us and leads us into all truth and gives us power over sin. So, yeah, the Holy Spirit is huge in leading us to Christ and keeping us in Christ under the new covenant. So, Roger, excellent observation. Thank you for that. Okay, anything else? Go ahead. All right, any other comments? Go ahead. I've got a comment that I probably shouldn't say, but I'm going to go ahead and bring it out. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee. For some reason, I don't know why God only mentions male nor female. There's nothing else. No, you should bring that out, Beck, and I'm glad you did. There's only two genders. There's only two sexes, male and female. There aren't 49 genders. We shouldn't be ever reluctant to say that. You know, when you have people gaslighting you, and that is telling you to deny the reality that you know, and that God declares, and trying to impress you into believing something contrary to God's Word and to reality, you just have to call out for the liars that they are. Let's not mince words here. In the beginning, God created them male and female. and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth." And of course, marriage between one man and one woman. That was set out in Genesis, where God provided Adam with one wife, not several. And in the context of marriage, children are brought forth. And so in this passage, very clearly you see there are two genders. And of course, there's a lot more that can be said about that passage, but Beck, thank you for pointing that out. I appreciate your boldness there. All right, and it's just, it's not even boldness, it's just common sense, right? It's a reality that everybody's understood for 6,000 years, until the crazies came along. All right, was that blunt enough there, Beck? Back to you. Roger. Thank you. All right, all right. Let's not be confused at all by the gaslighting of our generation. All right. Any other comments, please come down. WB7VZL, Wes Sedsbeck brought this up last night at our prayer meeting at Tushy. We went through Romans 1. And we had some historic remarks from the culture of Rome that Paul was writing to. And it was probably just as bad or worse because they had never known Jesus, so to speak. It was a pagan world of dysphoria, a pagan world of homosexuality, lesbianism. It was very, very polluted. And for Paul to think it was a real gospel test. The gospel is the power of God. And so Paul wanted to test out, so to speak, the power of God in the most polluted senses. All right. Yeah, well said. And that was true not only in Rome, it was also true in Corinth. We see him addressing those exact same issues there. The good news is, as it says in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 and such, were some of you, but now you are washed, now you are sanctified, now you are justified in Jesus. and by the Spirit of our God. So there's redemption for everyone. But yes, as cultures depart from Christianity or never had it, they sink into the worst kind of decadence and self-destructive behavior. And Romans 1 identifies that behavior as, The book of Corinthians identifies that behavior as well. And, you know, we're not holier than thou. We don't think of ourselves as being superior in any way. But for the grace of God, we would still be in our sins and doing those things and worse. So we're just one sinner trying to help another sinner find redemption in the Savior, and turning people away from depravity and darkness to the light and the purity of Jesus so that they can know cleansing, forgiveness. and redemption from that behavior that was described there. So Roger, I'm glad that your Bible study is going through that and that they're being honest about what's there and not trying to explain that away. All right, other comments, please come down. Roger, please go ahead. I think the context of our time has been refreshed a bit from the recent decision from the court that has allowed counselors to have some conviction regarding Romans 1 and the gospel to be able to talk freely. So we can praise the Lord for that. Yeah, copy that. That battle has been being fought for the last 30 years. California led the way in criminalizing counselors. who were trying to help young people with gender confusion and sexual orientation confusion. And even if they wanted to be delivered from their homosexual desires, they'd ask a counselor to help them do that. In California, that was a crime. And so this thing has been a major problem for a long time. And you know that someone's wrong. when they want to shut up the opposition and not allow them to speak. And so it's the nature of truth is that it's always happy to be discussed. If something is wrong, then fine, and if it's true, then fine. But to say to one side, "You can't talk," shows that the other side knows that if open and free discussion took place, they would lose the argument. So they've got to shut up the person who is trying to speak. In any event, Roger, thank you for pointing that out and for the blessing it is that the Supreme Court, 8-1, ruled that counselors have complete liberty to counsel against homosexual desires and orientation. to help people come out of that and into a normal sexual orientation with their lives. So what a blessing it was that they recognized the importance of free speech and the liberty to speak out on any issue. All right, any other comments? Please come now. AL7KG? AL7KG, Lee, go ahead. I'm first 23 to the 480. You have to go out. You're going to do the same thing. Got it. We'll look at the law both of you. And we'll look at the law both of you. The law, but not a law. I mean, some people don't have a hard time. We don't need to blow up a big thing. And all this is about 65-meter-hundredth of an hour. Alright, thank you for that Lee. Lee was commenting on verse 23, that before the faith came, that is before Jesus and the new covenant came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the new covenant which should afterward be revealed. And so, yeah, there's this covenantal transition. between the old covenant and the new. And while the moral law of God never changed, the ceremonial and civil law did. So, Lee, thank you for that comment. I wasn't able to actually copy most of what you said. Hopefully I responded according to what you said. But in any event, Lee, feel free to text message me if I... didn't address what you were trying to bring up because the band is just too bad for me to actually pick out what you said. Can anybody provide me with a relay of what Lee said so I don't misrepresent what he's trying to comment on? Please come now with your call sign. Okay Lee, I want to be sure I got what you said accurately so if you could text message me that I would appreciate it. Okay, any other comments from anybody please come now. Roger, please go ahead. This text of verse 28 is a mountaintop for our Lord Jesus. It immediately places everything... under our Lord, and He is the vertical relief from all the hassles, especially between Jew and Gentile, and, of course, between societal divisions, tribalism, for example, and all the economic levels that are just goes on for eons. And this is the greatest text for all of us. I had to memorize it going to Walla Walla College when it was Walla Walla College. It's so significant. So Paul is really making quite a statement, especially about the importance of the there is neither Jew nor Greek. I mean, that is just dynamite. Over. Yeah, thank you for that, Roger. Verse 28 is basically telling us that there is no discrimination in God's kingdom... with reference to gospel and gospel privileges between these various classes and categories of people. So it used to be that the Jews were to maintain separation from the Gentiles, and that for a Gentile to be saved, he had to become a Jew. But now anyone is accepted from any background, any class, any category into the Kingdom of God, simply based on repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. And so you're right. It's not this business of, are you a Jew? Are you a Gentile? Are you born in the city? Are you male? Are you female? But are you human? And if you're human, that's the only class and category you need to be in, in order to be saved. And so all the barriers, that middle wall of partition has been torn down, as it says there in Ephesians 2. are accepted as who they are and what they are into the Kingdom of God without discrimination. And so he's not erasing these distinctions as far as being observable. We're not saying men are women and women are men. What we're saying is that women and men are both equally accepted into the Kingdom. without any discrimination between them. And so this is the reason why Christianity elevates women to that high level of respect and protection that they enjoy in Christianity, which they do not enjoy in Islam, for example. A woman is considered to be worth half what a man is, but in Christianity a woman is worth every bit as much as a man is. And so the good news is that whosoever will may come, And the class and category that you are in, no matter what that class and category is, whether it's ethnic, whether it's economic, or whether it's sexual, you are welcome into the kingdom of God to obtain the exact same salvation that everyone else obtains. So, Roger, thank you for pointing that out. Okay, other comments, please come down. KM5S. KM5S, go ahead. Thank you. Yeah, I have a comment or question or confusion for me on verse 23. It says, "but before faith came." Then up in verse 9 it says, "so then they would be of faith, but which faith was Abraham's?" Well, Abraham was saved by faith, then came the law. Okay, I'm fine there. Yeah, well, okay, so there's some really important Greek grammar there in verse 23, and we've got to pay attention to that if we're going to rightly interpret that passage. So the word faith is used two different ways in this chapter 3 of Galatians. It's used of our personal faith in Jesus, and we all comprehend that, okay? By grace are you saved through faith. So you believe in Jesus, you're saved. But then the word faith, the Greek word pisteuo in the original, has a definite article in front of it. And the definite article is the word the, T-H-E. And so what he's saying here in verse 23, but before the faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith, which should afterward be revealed. So when it talks about faith with a definite article in front of it, that's a term that refers to the New Covenant, which they, of course, are currently living under as Paul writes this. So in the original language, if you pay attention to the appearance and disappearance of the definite article before the word faith, you can see how it's switching back and forth between talking about the new covenant and talking about our personal faith in Jesus Christ. And that's why it looks confusing. So if we understand that, then suddenly all the strangeness seems to disappear. Back to you there, Will. Thank you. Thanks for the straightening me out, KM5S. Alright, real good. So yeah, faith came, and then the law came, and then the faith came, which is the new covenant. And of course, all throughout from Abraham to the present moment, faith is what saves us. But you know, you remember, Will, in Jude, I think it's verse 3, it says, "We must earnestly contend for the faith, which was once for all delivered to the saints." And so there's a distinction there, and as we understand that, then... things become clear. Alright, any other comments on this passage? Please come down with your call sign. Roger, please go ahead. To help me understand what Will's comment was, I have just written from a previous study where face is mentioned both in 25 and 23. I have written, "The face is mentioned above it, Jesus. And that's right along with what you're emphasizing. And the we, three, is Jewish believers. So Paul is identifying as he was a zealot with the Jewish believers. But I just, I want to comment on verse 29 as well, because I This places all of us, when we join Christ by faith, we have been part of the all nations that will be blessed. So we're part of that marvelous promise that God gave. to Abraham. So I'm an Abraham seed. That is Genesis 12, 15, 17, all that belongs to me. Well said, Roger. You made two really important points. Let's go back and emphasize those. And let's read verse 23 as Roger was explaining it, where he takes that phrase, the faith, and he just puts the word Jesus. above that. And it really helps bring clarity to that. So verse 23, but before Jesus came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto Jesus, who should afterward be revealed. Wherefore, the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Jesus, to Christ. that we might be justified by personal faith. But after that, Jesus is come. We are no longer under a schoolmaster. So as I read that and substituted the word Jesus for the word faith, "faith" there. I substituted it where the word "faith" appears with the definite article. So, Roger, you are exactly correct in the way in which you're understanding that, that it's a reference to Jesus and the New Covenant. Thank you for that. Secondly, Roger brought out verse 29: where it says, "And if you be Christ's," that is, if you're saved, "then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise, of course, that was made to Abraham, the Abrahamic covenant." And so, of course, Abraham was the first Jew, and then he had Isaac and Jacob and the 12 tribes, and ultimately he had Jesus. Jesus was a Jew. When you are born of Jesus, you become a spiritual Jew, and thus an inheritor of all of the promises made to Abraham in the Abrahamic covenant. So we inherit the promise of the land, the seed, and the blessing. And so. So this is the reason why the church is the completion, not the replacement, but the completion of Israel. So you have Gentiles grafted in to the stock or the tree of the Abrahamic covenant and promises and people. And so the church now is the new Israel. Oh. That is connected to being born of Jesus to Abraham. So anyway, thank you for pointing that out, Roger. Really appreciate that. And we can look at the promises given to Abraham and say, those are my promises, because I am a Jew. I am born of Jesus, who is a Jew via the new birth, and thus an inheritor of all of those promises. All right, real good, Roger. Any other comments, please come down. AL-7KG. Okay. Okay, AL-7KG, Lee, go ahead, and then we'll get you, Jeff. Yeah, it's the first 23 against 23. We've got members of the law. That law was an attack... the animals, the oxen, the sheep, the goats. That was the law, too. So we don't do that law now because Jesus is our Savior, and we don't expect Christ to be the other cattle and oxen. Thank you for your work. Thank you. Yeah, good copy, Lee, good copy. You're exactly right. We don't do animal sacrifices anymore. That was part of the old covenant. And those have passed away. And the reason why is because the one that they foreshadowed, Jesus, made the permanent, final, finished, once for all sacrifice on the cross. So Lee, thank you for pointing out that issue of covenantal transition. We don't do animal sacrifices anymore. The final sacrifice with Jesus on the cross has been offered. And you really see that in the book of Hebrews chapter 10, where, let me just turn there for a second with one hand while I got my mic key depressed. Yeah, Hebrews chapter 10, it says in verse 10, By the which will we are sanctified to the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all. and every priest standing daily administering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. Now here it is. one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified so uh pardon me lee lee al7kg great comment there okay jeff aka 6ok you had a comment go ahead yeah thank you so much as you all know i have first of all i have dyslexia i don't read well so i refer quite often to the message because i would explain the word jeff can understand it in 23 through 27 Here's a really good explanation. Until the time when we were mature enough to respond freely and faithfully to the living God, we were carefully surrounded and protected by the Mosaic Law. The law was like those Greek tutors which you are familiar with, who escort children to school and protect them from danger or distraction. making sure that the children really get to the place they set out for. And 25, but now you have arrived at your destination. By facing Christ, you are in direct relationship with God. Your baptism in Christ was not just watching you up from a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe. Christ's life, the fulfillment of God's original promise. There you go, Max. Jeff, AK6OK, thank you for reading that. I think that's an explanation of the meaning of the passage, and I think it brings out what is being taught there. And I'm glad that you're able to read that, and it helps with your dyslexia. So, Jeff, thank you for sharing that with us. I appreciate that a lot. Okay, any other comments, please come down. Is that XN? Is that XN? Kevin, please go ahead. Well, thank you. Yeah, there's quite a bit here. You opened up there, and I would certainly have a different perspective and hermeneutical understanding of Hebrews 10 and 11 and your concept of the new covenant. The text here, and really the theme of Hebrews, or of Galatians chapter 3, is focused on the, you know, initially the Galatians that have been misled by Israel. by grace through grace by grace through faith now being corrupted by these judyizers by these legalists if you will that have come up from jerusalem and said well no jesus christ is fine but but you also need to keep the law so um as we kind of come through here the end of chapter 3 and really the beginning of chapter 4, the focus really is in the fulfillment of salvation through Christ. And Paul goes through the Old Testament to Abraham, and yes, to the Abrahamic covenant, which is pointed out is not necessarily nullified because he's given a new covenant. The promise of Abraham, which... led to his saving faith was the promise of the seed as we've talked about the promise of the coming Messiah and that was certainly fulfilled and we're also working throughout history that that promise of salvation to all nations was embedded in God's promise to Abraham as well and that It's fulfilled in Christ. And yes, as Hebrews 11 points out, that we are grafted in. Israel is set aside for a period of time. And all that are saved are grafted in to the promise. Thank you. time that that period of grace is completed. But the point I really want to focus on here is legalism. And this is really the point I think that Paul is really emphasizing here. And that is, that is... you know, as he points out at the beginning, how were you saved? Speaking to the Galatians and the Judaizers. Was it by faith or was it by your works? Do you think God just thought you were good enough or because you kept the law that he looked favorably upon you? Well, of course not. And then, like I said, he goes back to the Old Testament, multiple places, at least seven places where he pulls out of the Old Testament. No, you were saved by faith then the same way we're saved now and by the promise of the Messiah. And as you pointed out well recently, Max, we have the benefit of looking back to the fulfillment of that promise the Savior provided. You know, they look forward to the Savior promise. But as we also, as humanists by nature, are desired to be legalists, we all emphasize that the law is not there, contributes no part of your salvation to your salvation. And today it's the same way. We still have a tendency to be legalists here. It's not faith plus baptism. It's not faith plus communion. It's not faith plus... membership to a particular church that gives us salvation. And that's the first important point he makes. But also he makes the point in the sanctification as our walk as believers, as we grow in Christ through the gift of the Holy Spirit, it's still not by works that God looks favorably upon us. Our love for God, that we can now have a relationship with God, is not... and enmity with him, but not only are we made right and justified by faith, but now we can call him Abba Father. And those barriers are not down between ethnic barriers, which he points out, Jew, Gentile, Roman, it doesn't matter. Or gender barriers, man or woman, it doesn't matter, slave or free, it doesn't matter. We all come to Christ through faith. Thank you. God the Father, Abba, which is simply Arabic for Daddy. And it's a very affectionate term. Anyway, TV7, Zedica. Yeah, Kevin, thank you for that. And, you know, the promise made to Abraham, as you said, was made to all nations. You know, it says, "Indeed, all nations of the earth will be blessed." And I think Roger also pointed it out, as well as you, that here we are. I think on this net, I think we're all Gentiles. I don't know we have anybody from Jewish extraction. Perhaps we do, but most of us at least are Gentiles. And so praise the Lord. A broad promise that includes all peoples and not just the Jews. For salvation, we're just for the Jews. I have Gentiles that would be in trouble. But praise the Lord. Now it's not about whether you're a Jew or Gentile. It's about whether you're a repentant person. And for them, there is salvation. All right. We are out of time. I appreciate everyone's comments. It's been a great study and lots in this passage to think about and reflect on. And so thank the Lord. We're all children of God by faith in Jesus Christ. And so anyway, let's continue to maintain that faith. Let's continue to publicly profess that faith and be visible by our actions, by becoming baptized, and by our words and bearing testimony, and by our lives through our good works, all of which are means of conveying this wonderful message to those who are around us. Alright, we are out of time. It's time for prayer now. Any final prayer requests before we go to prayer, please come down to your call line. Alright Al, KJ7QQH, if you could close in prayer for us, that would be wonderful. Before you do, Al, I just want to acknowledge Peter, KJ7BA. Peter, thank you for being here. Appreciate you being here, brother. Thank you, Pastor Maxson. Good morning to everyone here on the net. This is KJH 228. Please let's join together in prayer. We're expecting, we pray that those will go well and that they'll be prosperous. Those lambs will be healthy. We also want to pray for the protection of those lambs from predators as you protect us from the predators of the world. And we lift up Bailey, Roger, WP7, VCL's other half, in the radiation treatment series she's enduring right now after her cancer surgery. Pray that the remaining radiation treatments go well with this. Thank you. after effects as we well know from the treatments that our son has been doing. For Mike at PwO, his brother Randy, we pray that he's able to find appropriate housing be a fetch mate or whatever father you would provide for him. And could that be a additional unit built onto my property there? Then we pray that that goes well. Roger also wants to lift up Gene, who would be a counseling in his baptism. We pray that Jane will be able to have a good position in our mind to be able to be in complete acceptance of you before taking the step for baptism. We lift up the name of the TPO in her post-cancer surgery treatment. Moving on to our main list for today, we lift up my N7FM. We pray for his recovery of his taste and smell after having COVID. And for Jim, N7BKE, he needs opportunities to share the gospel as many as he can, as he always does. For Scott, N7FPA, we pray for the salvation of all the children. and pray for the grandchildren of those on the net, for you, God, to work grace in their hearts and for the protection of the ways of the world and the attack of Satan. Coming back to Brian, KJ says, "PWM," and we pray for the salvation of Mariah. which are in the name of the Bible too. We pray that that Bible will bring her closer to you. And also for Brian's son, Avery, and his daughter. Be married and become saved. And that they are the parents of five-year-old Alex and are expecting another child. We pray that they will all be a family for you, Lord. And for James, A7, I take that as O-A-O-M. We pray for Judy, the brigade, her ability to speak after her stroke. We pray for the victims of child abuse, sexual abuse. For Ed and 6XOH, his nephew Eric, including military right not to exploit them. We pray for his protection for he and his unit. We also want to lift up the astronauts of the Artemis II moon mission for their safety and safe return. We also want to lift up the Supreme Court and lift up the leaders for wisdom and the decisions that they make will have them in mind. With that, Lord, we close the end as we go on our separate ways here today. We want to thank you for your goodness, your mercy, and your grace to be with us For the gift of your son, Jesus Christ, we pray all these things. Amen. KJ7, you can wait. VTAC, you have the max percent control. Thank you, Al. Really appreciate those prayers. This is WB7MAX, net control for the West Coast Bible Study. I want to thank all of you. Thank you. as well as those who speak to us with clear operating frequency. We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m. in order to read the scriptures, understand their meaning, message, and application, and then to pray for grace and mercy to be able to live out what we learn and for God to meet the needs of those that are in our circle of fellowship. I'll be returning this frequency now to regular amateur use. This is WB7MAX, and I'll be clear and standing by. Hi, Yankee. Hi, Yankee. Go ahead. Hey, Pastor Max. Did you share the clownfish joke yesterday? I gave you credit for it, too. Over. Okay. I was on Utah SDR on my phone, and for some reason, it only works for about seven minutes or so, and it kept disconnecting and disconnecting, so I didn't get to hear all of it. I did get to log in from the morning prayer, though, so that was important for me. I'm ready to share number one with you again. Yeah, Beck, a lot of people have that exact same problem with their phone kicking them off. And I think what happens is that your phone has an energy saving setting on it that, you know, after so many minutes, you know, make the screen go dark. And when that happens, it kicks you off the SDR. So if you change that setting so that your screen never goes dark, then it won't kick you off. So lots of people have that problem. Anyway, go ahead with the filter. Well, thank you for that information. That makes total sense. What do you call an alligator in a nest? What do you mean, an alligator in a vest? That would have to be having something to do with an investment. I don't know. Anybody want to give it a try? Go ahead. All right. I heard somebody out there had it. Yeah, an investigator, that was 57 TPO, said an alligator in a vest is an investigator. Roger that, that's the correct... Alright, Carol, good go. Well, there's a lot of static crashes, but I've got to get rolling on my duty, so... Everything's going to be okay, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow, as usual. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, I'm standing by, but I'm, uh, your team. Okay, real good, Beck, and give Sandy a big hug for us. and tell her that we love her and that we are rooting for her and for her and the healing of her. And so anyway, love you guys and glad to have you back here on the net today there, Beck. Okay, Alpha 5 Yankee, 7-3 to you. And if anybody else wants to chat, I'm here. Go ahead. 826-J, Kilo Golf, 6-Juliet. Okay, Q-6, Juliet, go ahead. This is Jerry down in Jamestown. I'm one of your new members here. You made a comment or... You weren't sure who might be out there in the group that had... Well, he's reported. quite like that. I'm a German Jew. I was born and raised into a Protestant church, Church of the Brethren, which I think has roots back to the German Baptist. I'd like to let you know that I have, you know, I've never practiced Judaism, but I thought I'd mention that. Jerry, thank you for that. Yeah, I really appreciate you throwing up the calls. Good signal, by the way, and appreciate that. Yeah, I'm glad to know that you are of Jewish background and extract. That's good to know that we've got a representative here from Israel. And thanks for letting us know. Yeah, you're in Jamestown, California. You're on my list at Jerry at KG6J. So thanks for that. Were you able to listen to the whole net today, Jerry? I was off and on. I work remotely from home. I'm having several meetings. And I'm 69 and not retired. And so I can listen. Sometimes I can listen more. But definitely when prayer is going on, I come over to Jesus. to the station where the home PC is at, away from the work PC, and give that time to the Lord. Some mornings are worse than others. Some mornings are great, and I can really focus and listen in. Praise the Lord, Jerry. That is wonderful. So glad to have you listening in. and I just think I remember our conversation previously, and I've got you on our list. And, boy, I sure appreciate your signal. I was looking for a radio, and how many watts are you putting out? So it all started. I've been a HF for about four or five years, and a local club member came down and put up a wonderful antenna for me. a loop, a large loop. And the deal here is the Kenwood 590SG. The amplifier is in CL80D, and it took quite a lot of work to get the station back up to good amateur engine. Not right to begin with. Got things working right now. And you are also good signal typically down here in Northern California. Yeah, real good. OK, loop antenna, that makes perfect. And how many watts are you putting out? Over, I'm putting out about 600. It's about the same, maybe 650, 700. I think today I tuned it up to 650. Yeah, well you got a great signal Jerry, really appreciate that and a great station as well. Whoever is working with you, the two of you got it figured out so really appreciate you being here. Feel free to drop your call sign anytime if you want to make a comment. Understand you're working from home. And so sometimes you're here and sometimes you're not. Thank you for participating in prayer. That's just as important for this net as our Bible study. And we always have a lot of prayer requests. And if you have any you want to bring to our attention, I will put them on the list and we will bring them before the Lord as a group. So, Jerry, good talking to you. WB-7 to Mick. WB-7, M-A-X, 86J. Thank you so much, Pastor Matt. It has been a blessing to have you guys here and to be able to join in. And it's grounding and a starting point each morning to be finding because I'm not in fellowship. Some of those health problems are prednisone-related, autoimmune conditions, lack of balance, I can't get on ladder. But there's more to it than that, but I don't want to hold you up. There's people... I'm blessed in many ways, and I'm reminded of that often. So thank you so much. Wishing you a great day. And KG6J, back to you. And 7-3. All right, real good. Appreciate that. Okay, Jerry. Good talking to you. WB7MX, stand by if anybody wants to chat. Go ahead with your call line. KB7ZXN. KB7ZXN, Kevin, go ahead. Well, very good. Well, first I was just wondering, Jerry, are you able to copy me there at your QT? I am, but I just pulled the headphones off and put them right back on. Well, Joe, I won't keep you, but you sure are making a good trip into the Utah SDR. And I'm also talking on a Kenwood TS-590. Not quite as much power, but anyway, it was a pleasure to meet you. And I'm in East Idaho here, Idaho Falls. But, Max, I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to put that article up or that dissertation on is baptism essential for us. salvation. I think you did an outstanding job on that. And as you saw, I put it up on discovertheword.net. But if anybody hasn't read that yet, I encourage you to read that. Max, you did an outstanding job of working through the scripture to address that question there. And just wanted to thank you for allowing me to put that up there. Thank you. Yeah, real good, Kevin. Yeah, you doubled a little bit there with Jerry, but nevertheless, thank you, Kevin, for doing that. And I appreciate that, and if anyone wants access to that, that's Discovering the Truth website. He's got a bunch of other stuff on there, too. But yeah, the article I wrote on that is about doing the necessary for salvation is now on Kevin's website. So, Kevin, you bet, and thank you. We work together on stuff. Kevin, do you want to talk with Jerry? Sure. I'm going to turn the frequency over to the two of you and you can talk back and forth with each other. Go ahead there, Kevin and Jerry. Kevin O' Well, I do need to wrap up. I did want to just say good morning to Jerry and welcome aboard and more from you. The morning study has certainly been a blessing to many of us. I'd love to talk to you more about the Baptists of Germany there. The great interesting history there to be sure. sometimes a troubled one but uh an important one anyway lord bless you all uh thank you uh back for the levity each morning with a good or maybe sometimes a groaner of a joke but always enjoyed anyway blessings to all kb7 Roger on that, Kevin.
