### Bible Study Summary: Salvation by Faith Alone

#### Introduction and Participants
The Bible study session began with a roll call and check-ins from various participants, including Steve (W6YSI), Max (WB7MX, Net Control), Pete (W6NOX), Carol (JK7TPL), Brian (KJ7PWM), Roger (WB7BZL), Kevin (KB7XN), and George (K2KJX). The group discussed a range of topics, from doctrinal clarity to personal testimonies and prayer requests, centered around the theme of salvation by faith alone.

#### Key Passages and Themes
The primary passages discussed were Galatians 2:1-5 and Acts 15:1-19, which were read and analyzed to understand the historical context and theological implications of salvation by faith alone. These passages highlight the conflict between the early Christians who believed in salvation through faith in Christ and those who insisted on the necessity of adhering to the Mosaic law for salvation.

**Galatians 2:1-5** emphasizes the importance of maintaining the purity of the gospel message. Paul and Barnabas traveled to Jerusalem to discuss the issue of circumcision and the law with the apostles and elders. The passage underscores the unity of the apostles in affirming that salvation is by faith in Christ alone, not by works of the law.

**Acts 15:1-19** provides a detailed account of the Jerusalem Council, where the apostles and elders debated the issue of salvation and the law. The decision was made that salvation is by faith alone, and the Gentiles were not required to be circumcised or to follow the Mosaic law to be saved. This decision was crucial in establishing a clear doctrinal statement that would guide the early church.

#### Discussion Points and Themes
The group delved into several themes and discussion points:
- **Salvation by Faith Alone**: The group emphasized that salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Christ alone. George shared his personal testimony about the transformative power of salvation by grace, underscoring that works do not contribute to one's salvation.
- **Doctrinal Statements**: The importance of clear and consistent doctrinal statements was discussed. The group agreed that doctrinal clarity is essential for maintaining unity and preventing false teaching within the church.
- **False Teaching**: The dangers of mixing grace and works were highlighted. The group discussed how adding works to salvation can lead to legalism and undermine the gospel message.
- **Church Councils**: The historical and biblical precedent of church councils was mentioned as a model for addressing doctrinal issues and maintaining clarity. The Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 was seen as a prime example of how the early church handled doctrinal disputes.

#### Prayer Requests and Closing
The session concluded with a variety of prayer requests, including health concerns, ministry support, and personal needs. Participants prayed for Jerry and his family regarding MRI and thyroid issues, Brother George for assistance, Pyro-Pay for missionary work, Brother Darrell for leadership in the church, Roger for his choir performance and university events, and Mark for struggles with drug addiction. The group also prayed for unsaved and unchurched individuals, pastors, and church people for spiritual protection and success.

#### Discussion Questions
1. How does the concept of salvation by faith alone impact your understanding of the gospel?
2. In what ways can false teaching about salvation be identified and countered within a church community?
3. What role do church councils or similar gatherings play in maintaining doctrinal clarity and unity?
4. How can we as a church community support each other in times of need, both spiritually and practically?
5. How can we effectively reach out to the unsaved and unchurched in our communities with the message of salvation by faith alone?

This Bible study session provided a rich discussion on the foundational doctrine of salvation by faith alone, emphasizing the importance of maintaining doctrinal purity and clarity within the church.

Sir, I'm not sure. Steve, he says he thinks he's got your number, he's not sure, over. Yeah, okay, well I just didn't want to take any more time before we send it out of here. I'll try to get a hold of him after that, W6YSI. Okay, Steve, I do have Pete's phone number, so I can text that to you after the net to make sure you two guys can connect. So anyway, good. All right, WB7MAX back here, and I am taking check-ins to West Coast Bible Study. Any more check-ins, please come now. Quick comment, K2KJX. K2KJX, go ahead. Yeah, I haven't heard Scott N7NPA the past couple days. Is he out of town? I don't know what's going on with him or where he is. He hasn't communicated with me as to why he's not on the net. So if you have an opportunity to contact him, I would encourage you to do that. Roger, roger. I will. Thank you. Thank you for that. Okay, so right. So Doc at W6RLJ texted me, said he's listening this morning, radio challenges. in that area. Copy that. Okay, good, Doc. We got you checked in. All right, any other check-ins this morning? Please come now. BKE? BKE, go ahead. Scott said he had problems with his radio the other day. It wouldn't work, and then all of a sudden it come on. So I think he's having a little problem with the electrical. Yeah, okay, Jim in 7BK, he said Scott reported some problems with his radio, so perhaps he's still working through those issues. Thank you, Jim, for that. All right, any other check-ins, please come down. All right, there's Carol, JK7TPL. Carol, I heard your voice. Please come back to me. Okay, good morning to you, Carol, and understood you're listening on the Utah SDR. I also heard you on the Utah SDR. I can hear your voice on my radio. I just can't make out words, but I was able to make out your words on the Utah SDR. So, Carol, thank you for being here. I appreciate that. Fan conditions are not the greatest today, but we're working with what we've got. All right, and I would also like to acknowledge Brian KJ7PWM. Brian, are you on your radio? Come back to me. WB7, these are down here All right, Roger, good booming signal. We always appreciate hearing your voice, and we got you checked in there, Roger. Thank you for being here. All right, that's Roger, WB7BZL. Any update on prior requests or anything, Roger? At the Lamb of God, a direct rehearsal took place. Unfortunately, I asked the conductor whether this would be broadcast. I don't think it's going to be live streamed, probably because of copyright issues. Maybe I'll know a bit tomorrow. At any rate, you might be able to look on YouTube to see if they have the Lamb of God. I know the London Symphony Orchestra did it, and we watched it to practice. And I don't know. At any rate, it's happening tonight at 7 and tomorrow night on Palm Sunday at 7 to here at the University Church. So sorry I don't have more definite interest, I mean information for you. Over. Okay, real good. Let's be praying for Roger and for this presentation at the Walla Walla University there of the Lamb of God, which I guess is choir music combined with orchestra. Is that correct? Is there any preaching? All the preaching is the story of Jesus. by some outstanding vocalists. Many of them, we don't even know who they are. But they were pulled together by word of mouth and reputation, and they are exceptionally talented. Like I said, I think I told you yesterday, there's close to 200 of us. Probably there is now. My wife said there were half a dozen violinists that weren't there at the last practice. So we've grown in size. Yeah, copy that. Okay, well, let's pray for Roger and for this presentation of the Lamb of God, that the Lord would use it to encourage his people and to save the lost. So anyway, appreciate that. Copy there, Al? Good copy and blessings to you, Roger, on this. All right, well, let's get started with our Bible study today. Appreciate all of you who have checked in, and we are going to be looking again at our passage in Galatians 2, verses 1 to 10, which we looked at yesterday, but we're going to do it in conjunction with Acts chapter 15. I mentioned that yesterday. Okay. because those two passages are talking about the same event. And so we can better understand the passage in Galatians when we understand the passage in Acts, which we looked at not too long ago. You know, we went through Acts and then went through Romans and 1 and 2 Corinthians, and here we are. So anyway, that's what we're going to be doing. But before we get started, we want to open our time together in prayer. Kevin, KB7XN, could you open in prayer for us today, please? All right, sounds like Kevin is not on the microphone. Now, back out, Alpha 5 Yankee, with your mobile rig, you want to open in prayer for us today? I kind of like to, but I close my eyes when I'm driving. Okay, no worries. All right, I'll go ahead and open in prayer. Father, thank you so much for this Bible study. Thank you for the Circle of Fellowship that we have today. Thank you for the wonderful Savior that we all trust in for the forgiveness of our sins and for our redemption and reconciliation. Father, we just want to glorify Jesus with our lives, with our lips, with our testimony. Help us, Father, to preach his gospel accurately. And, Father, we pray that we would understand and articulate the truth of the gospel effectively to our generations. and they try to add to the gospel, or they try to take away from the gospel, or they try to change the gospel in some way. And, you know, if we don't get the gospel right, then we don't get saved. And if we don't get saved, we wind up in hell. And so that's the reason why Paul says, if somebody comes along and preaches a different gospel than the one that the Scriptures teaches, let that person be accursed. So what Paul does is after defending his apostleship in the latter part of chapter 1, he then goes to chapter 2, and he talks about this Jerusalem council. In chapter 2, verse 20 says, Then 14 years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, took Titus with me also. And I went up by revelation and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, It says, "...to whom we gave place by subjection, know not for an hour that the truth of the gospel might continue with you." So, you know, when it came to the gospel, Paul didn't yield one inch. He stood solid, he stood firm, and he didn't back up, he didn't back down, and he rebuked the false teaching of the gospel. So that's our background. Now let's turn over to Acts chapter 15, and we'll see who these false brethren were. We'll see what they were teaching. Yeah, I think 1 through 19. Okay, go ahead, Roger, read for us, if you would, please. WB 70ZL reading from the New American Standard Bible, Acts 15. "And some men came down from Judea and began teaching the brethren, 'Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.' And when Paul and Barnabas had great dissension and debate with them, the brethren determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders concerning this issue. Therefore, being sent on their way by the church, they were passing through both Phoenicia describing in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and were bringing great joy to all the brethren. And when they had arrived at Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they reported all that God had done with them. But certain ones of the sect of the Pharisees who had believed stood up, saying, It is necessary to circumcise them and to direct them to observe the law of Moses. And the apostles and the elders came together to look into this matter. And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "Brethren, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe; and God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he also did to us. And he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. Now therefore, why do you put God to the test? By placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear. But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus in the same way as they also were. And all the multitude kept silent, and they were listening to Barnabas and Paul, and they were relating what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles. And after they had stopped speaking, James answered, saying, Brethren, listen to me. Simeon has related how God first concerned himself about taking from among the Gentiles a people for his name. And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written, After these things I will return, and I will rebuild the tabernacle of David which has fallen, and I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it, in order that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord. And all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the Lord, who makes these things known from of old. Therefore, it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles. And that completes verse 19, Max. WB 7, VZL. Roger, thank you for that reading. Excellent job. Okay, this is what Paul was referring to in Galatians chapter 2, verses 1 to 5, when he wrote that section. And so, any comments on this section in Acts chapter 15? Please come now with your call sign. Kevin, KB7ZX, go ahead. Well, I'm glad you took the time to point to this and look at it a little bit closer because this is certainly what Paul is pointing to as he opens the second chapter here. been out planting churches. And of course, Barnabas lived with him on his first missionary journey and had planted many churches. Of course, you can imagine in that 14 years, the trials and tribulations that we know that Paul endured on many levels. And, but yeah, here it's wonderful that this is established in the Word of God, because Paul, here comes because of heresy and that's been filtering in and people have actually been trying to undermine the purity and simplicity of the gospel. He comes back to Jerusalem to make sure that they're all on the same page. That they are all recognizing the same gospel. And the good news is, here we see, you know, Peter at the time of this council establishing unequivocally that this is the gospel of purity. It is faith by grace through faith. And, of course, we're going to see that emphasized in a great exposition here in chapter 2 of Galatians. James affirms the same thing. It is grace by faith. It is not grace plus works. It is not grace plus the law. So they are all running the same race. Now they established, "Okay, Peter, you'll be the apostle to the Jews, and Paul will be the apostle to the Greeks." But they were all on the same mission, preaching the same gospel. And of course, as we see in Galatians as we're coming into it, sometimes influences can come. And here you can come in under social pressure. Sometimes it can come in the form of a friend that may be well-intentioned but has been influenced by other pressures. So this is a very important establishment that the gospel is the same, that all are recognizing, all are preaching. And by this time, how many lives have been transformed and changed into believers for Christ? KB7, is that okay? Yeah, Kevin, great analysis and comments. Really appreciate that. And, you know, what we have here is this statement in verses 10 and 11 where Peter says, Why, therefore, do you attempt, God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples... which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear." So they weren't able to keep the law of God. They weren't able to obtain salvation by works. Verse 11: "But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved even as they." Well, circumcision was a human work, and they were adding human works to grace, and saying, you know, "Yeah, we have Jesus dying on the cross, but then you have to add something to that." by way of your circumcision. And so instead of trusting in the substitutionary atonement of the resurrected Christ, they were trusting in that plus their circumcision and their law keeping. And so what you had here was a real battle over the combination between grace and works and grace alone as being the ground of salvation. So well said, Kevin. Thank you for bringing that out. All right, other comments on this passage? Please come down. WB7, Roger, please go ahead. Yes, and I made a mistake yesterday when Paul in Galatians mentions an angel from heaven. Is it possible you have to analyze any message that comes supposedly from an angel of light or that sort of thing? I was referring to Acts chapter 10, which was Peter's test case of the gospel. That's And so I apologize for that mistake, Max, but I put those angels kind of in contrast together yesterday. Over. Yeah, copy that. No worries. Indeed, you know, there was a revelation to Peter that he needed to go to Cornelius' household and preach the gospel to him. Plus, he had a vision. And so, yeah, the thing about the angels, the real angels, the genuine angels, is that they always... speak and echo the truth of God. And we know about the false angels, that is, the ministers of Satan masquerading as angels of light or as messengers of light is the idea, because the word angel means messenger. And so it can refer to what we commonly understand as angelic beings, Or sometimes men are referred to by the term angelos because they're messengers of the gospel. So men are sometimes called angels. We see that in Revelation where, you know, Jesus says to the angel of the church at Ephesus, to the angel of the church at Smyrna, et cetera. And he's saying, you know, to the messenger, the minister of the gospel there at the church and the church. So, yeah, Roger, well said. No problems and no confusion. Appreciate that. Okay. Any other comments on this passage? No. Okay, well, what the general principle of this passage is, is that we don't want to add to the Gospel. And so some people add circumcision to the Gospel, some people add baptism to the Gospel, and say that baptism is an essential element of the Gospel. It is not. Baptism, like circumcision, is always associated with those who are saved, and all of those who are saved are supposed to be circumcised into the Old Covenant, just like all of those who are saved are supposed to be baptized into the New Covenant. But let's not confuse the sign of salvation with the obtaining of salvation. And so the sign of salvation in the New Testament is baptism. It's the public declaration that Christ has saved us, but it doesn't cause our salvation, nor does it contribute to our salvation. It is instead a declaration of our salvation. And so... the passages that are sometimes cited to try to indicate that salvation is part of, or that baptism is part of salvation, are easily explained with some attention to the context and to the grammar. So anyway, it's imperative that we not add church attendance or baptism or... the fact that we have Christian parents, or the fact that we operate a food kitchen, or any of those things as being the grounds upon which God should justify us on the day of judgment. We should trust in Jesus alone, the resurrected Christ alone, for the forgiveness of our sins, and having been saved by him, then our first act of obedience to him is to publicly declare our faith in him in the waters of baptism, which symbolize what has happened to us, that we have undergone a death, the old nature was taken out, a burial, and then a resurrection when a new nature is given to us. And so baptism is a wonderful picture of having died to sin and coming alive to Christ. It doesn't cause it, but it does declare it. And that's the thing, is that baptism is a declarative ordinance. It's not an instrumental cause, but it is an expression of what has happened. All right, any other comments on this issue of not yielding one inch to any change or addition to or subtraction from the gospel? Please put it on your call sign. This is WB7MX. George, KTKJX, go ahead. Yeah, this really hits home for me because I know there's nothing I can do personally, whether it's giving my time, my talent, my money. None of those things really make an impact on my salvation. But you probably don't know this song when they stop. Maybe you do. But it says, I trust in Jesus, my great deliverer, my strong defender. the Son of God, I trust in Jesus. And that's really where it hit home for me that He's everything, He's my only Savior, and nothing I can do will really make an impact except the supporting of people. and friends and with my giving and whatever, just my time. So that's my big take on it. - George, really well said. I think you articulated exactly what that faith in Jesus is. It's trusting in him alone for the forgiveness of our sins, knowing that Jesus paid it all. And so as the hymn writer says, "All pay my own." Sin has left a crimson stain. He washed it white as snow. And while we don't build our theology on hymns, hymns do express biblical theology if they are written by someone who understands biblical theology. And so, yeah, we're trusting in Jesus plus nothing. God so loved the world that gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. He that believes in him is not condemned. So it's faith. And faith alone that saves. And, of course, that faith is always attended with repentance because you can't turn to Jesus without turning away from sin. So it's kind of like two sides of the same coin. And that's why, you know, Paul, when he summarized the preaching of the gospel to the elders at Ephesus there in Acts chapter 20, he says, I preach repentance towards God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. because those are two sides of the same coin. And if you repent, you're going to believe, and if you believe, you're going to repent, because it's all together there. So it says of the testimony, they turned from idols to God, to serve the true living God. So, yeah, George, it's not our service, it's not our giving, it's, It's not our self-sacrifice that saves us. Those things are expressions of love to Christ for having saved us. And I think we have to constantly make that distinction between justification, which is by faith alone, and sanctification, which involves our activity and our work. And so if we're going to grow in grace, we've got to do stuff. But if we're going to get saved, we've got to trust in another. And that sharp distinction has to be made. And that's what was being blurred here in Acts chapter 15. There was a combination of human works. and divine work being preached as necessary for salvation. And Paul says, we didn't give any space to that heresy for one second. And so, you know, turning back to Galatians, he calls these people false brethren. And he says that they want to bring us into bondage. And Paul says, we didn't give them subjection not for one second. that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. And so he says, there are some that trouble you when you pervert the gospel of Christ. We have to be aware of that, and we have to be on guard against that, and forever vigilant in preserving the terms of salvation that the Bible itself teaches. All right, any other comments on either Galatians or Acts chapter 15 that anybody would like to make, please pronounce your calls on this WP7 AMAZE. WB-7EVL. Roger, WB-7EVL, please go ahead. Yes, I think I told you my adult conversion when I was in the seminary came about by reading the commentary that Luther wrote to the Galatians. And that... commentary beat this concept into my head like nothing else and I apparently in the Lord's prominence I needed it because that distinction is very very important and it defines what a Protestant is Most of the Christian world, and I'm saying numbers, does not believe it. They deny it because they're not Protestant. That is exactly correct, yeah. And Roman Catholicism in particular, Eastern Orthodoxy, Russian Orthodoxy, all of them combine the work of Christ with human work in order to obtain justification. And that's a false gospel. And that leads people straight to hell because they are trusting in something other than Jesus Christ to save them from their sins. And so they add their work to Christ's work, and they think that the culmination of both of them will bring them salvation. And of course, that's what the Reformation, as you well said, was all about. And that's what Luther was fighting with reference to, is he was saying, "We need to restore the Gospel. The Gospel's been perverted. People are being corrupted and misled. And so therefore, we need a reestablishment of the Gospel." And the whole Reformation in the 1500s had to do with, are we saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, or are we saved by those things plus our good works that become meritorious and gain us additional righteousness, which adds to what Jesus has done so that the combination of them makes us so that we might have enough merit to be able to get into heaven. And so that was the point of controversy. And I'm so pleased that God used Martin Luther's commentary in Galatians. I have that. I used it extensively when I preached to the book of Galatians. And, yeah, that's a great commentary. And I'm glad that God used that to open your eyes to salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, without adding anything to it or subtracting anything from it. Roger, appreciate that testimony. All right, any other comments? Please come down. You got it. Kevin, KB7 FedExN, go ahead. Yeah, well, you know, one of the most important principles of this is, you know, we're saved by grace through faith, which is emphasized. But if you add anything to that, it is no longer grace. And it's quite simple. You know, I was thinking of the hymn, "What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood." of Jesus. And as we get into Galatians chapter 2 here, Paul really unpacks this very well as he points back to these events. But as he moves on into, I think it's verse 16, where he says three times in one verse that we are justified by faith. God's grace is imparted to us by faith. And we are made righteous before God by faith. And he emphasizes that three times in one sentence there pretty much. So anyway, I think as we unpack Galatians chapter 2, this comes home very strongly. KB7, is that acceptable? Yeah, Kevin, I really appreciate you mentioning verse 16 there of Galatians 2. We're going to get to that tomorrow, God willing. And you're right, three times he mentions salvation is by faith, it's by faith, it's by faith. No works, no works, no works. And so there can't be any question about the terms of the gospel when you read passages like that. You know, one of the things that you see here in Acts chapter 15 is a church council. And the church council meets, the church council deliberates, the church council comes to a theological conclusion. And we see that in Acts 15 here with James. And so they came out with a statement, if you will, a doctrinal statement. Here's what the truth of the gospel is. And then they extended it around all the churches. And, you know, in church history, we have a rich tradition in historic Orthodox mainstream Christianity of writing doctrinal statements and of formulating in plain, simple terms what the truth of the Scriptures is and what the Bible teaches. And in fact, that's what we're doing right now in this Bible study. As we talk about the Bible, we're formulating and stating the doctrine that it teaches. And so every sermon is a doctrinal statement. Every discussion about the Scriptures is a doctrinal statement. And it can either be verbal or it can be written. But the idea that we don't have or shouldn't have doctrinal statements is really logically contradictory because when someone says you know the Bible is my doctrinal statement well guess what that itself is a doctrinal statement it's a short one but it is a creed and so you know I knew a famous Bible teacher in California named Harold Camping some of you may have known of him and he You know, his whole philosophy was the Bible only. But this guy wrote lots of books talking about what the Bible taught. And so it wasn't the Bible only. It was Harold Campings saying what he thought the Bible taught. Now, his theology was quite poor. And I don't want to go into what that was, but all of these people who say we shouldn't have doctrinal statements, we should just go by the Bible. By making that statement, they are making a doctrinal statement. And then, of course, if they do anything other than read the Bible, if they stop to explain it at all, They are making doctrinal statements about what the Bible teaches. And so it's impossible that we would have the position that there shouldn't be any doctrinal statements. If you're going to do that, then all you can do is just read the Bible. As soon as you're done reading, go silent. If you're going to do the Bible only, or we're just going to go by what the Bible says. The trouble with going by what the Bible says is, is that you've got to ask yourself, okay, it says this, but then what does it mean? And that requires interpretation. That requires explanation. And that's exactly what we're doing in this Bible study. We're saying, okay, the text says this. What does it mean? How does it apply? And as we interpret and explain and apply, we're expressing doctrine. So the idea that we would have the Apostles' Creed or we would have the Nicene Creed or that we would have the great doctoral statements of the Reformation, the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Canons of Dort, the London Baptist Confession of Faith, Philadelphia Confession of Faith, it goes on and on. The Church has recognized the need to make doctoral statements all through her history. And so when someone thinks we don't need a doctrinal statement of any kind, they are really bucking against what historic Orthodox mainstream Christianity has recognized as essential and necessary. And that is, let's say, what the Bible teaches in a summary form so that there can be clarity, so there can be continuity, and so that people can understand. So no doctrinal statement is a replacement for... the Bible. It's just an expression of what the Bible teaches. So it can be examined, because every cult says that they believe the Bible. So it's not enough to say, you know, our doctrinal statement is the Bible. A Mormon would say that. A Jehovah's Witness would say that. Anyone would say that. The question is, what does the Bible teach? And that requires, of course, interpretation and explanation. So all of this revolves around this whole controversy in Galatians. And so you have a church council here listening and issuing a statement about the conclusions of what they understand the Bible to teach. And that's a legitimate process. It's one that's modeled in the Bible, and it's one, of course, that's modeled all throughout church history. So it's important for us to formulate in clear, concise, written terms. what the Bible does teach and what the gospel is. Every time you pass out a gospel tract, you are making a declaration of biblical doctrine. All right, this is WB7 in the control for the West Coast Bible Study. Any more comments anybody wants to make, please come down to the call line. Oh, yes, hi. I'm Steve, 96YSI, go ahead. Yeah, I appreciate your comments concerning creeds and this sort of thing, Max. Amen. James 3-1. has always stood out to me. It says, "Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we shall incur a stricter judgment." So those that decide that I'm gonna be a teacher or proceed down that route, I have no argument with that, but they have to know what they're teaching and the importance that they're going to be held accountable on how they teach what they teach. That'd be 6YSI. Yeah, Steve, really well said. We need an educated ministry. We need a responsible ministry. We need pastors who are knowledgeable of the Scriptures. And, you know, there's a lot of folks that want to stand up and teach the Bible, and they really don't understand where they speak nor where they affirm. What they speak or where they affirm. And they wind up teaching bad doctrine. And that's why we have cults. That's why we have a false teaching. And so, you know, the Bible says, let every man be swift to hear and slow to speak. And the idea is that we need to learn before we open our mouth and start saying, here's what it is and here's what it isn't. And that's the reason why we've got so much bad doctrine out there, is because we've got unqualified men taking to themselves the role and responsibility of teaching when they think they've gotten a little bit of truth. And so you see the long discipleship that Timothy went through with Paul before he was ever equipped and able to be a teacher himself. And so the problem here in Acts chapter 15, Steve, is that you had men who appointed themselves to be teachers. and didn't understand the gospel and wound up perverting it and saying, oh, circumcision is necessary, keeping the Old Covenant is necessary. And in fact, those who did have the knowledge and the understanding rebutted that, and the conclusion was drawn that that teaching was wrong. So you're right. It's a fearful thing to teach the Word of God lest you misrepresent the mind of God. and incur His judgment on you for being a false teacher or teaching a false gospel. It's so serious, Paul says, let such one be accursed. So we need to be very serious about living by understanding and rightly applying every word that the Christi has done in the mouth of God. You know, I see a lot of young men say, oh, I want to be a pastor. I say, do you know what you're asking for? And that is the hardest task in the world. is to learn the Bible to the degree that you're able to teach it accurately with gold and silver precious stones and not the woodhand stubble of humanism and human reasoning. So, Steve, thank you for that comment. All right, we are out of time. It's time for us to go to prayer. Are there any final prayer requests that anybody wants to bring to our attention? I thought we were going to cover that, but very good, KB7 ZXN. Yeah, Kevin, I read out loud on the net today Galatians 2:1-5 and then I related it to Acts chapter 15, did you hear me read Galatians 2 verses 1 to 5 over? As I reflect, I think so. I just remember spending most of the focus on today's study on Acts 15 there. But very good. We'll be prepared for tomorrow. Thank you. Tiffy 7, Zedek Sam. Yeah, you bet, Kevin. All right, thank you, Kevin. And, Roger, thank you for that relay. I really appreciate that. I mean, I got that one. That one was actually pretty easy. I didn't get it. Sandy did, though. I've got a question for you, Pastor Mayer. Go ahead. The Bible was an acronym. What would it stand for? I don't know, I never figured that one out, but go ahead. Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. Well that's good, I like that. Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth, V-I-B-L-E. That is so good and that's accurate. Thank you for that, Beck. You're welcome. I'm surprised you didn't know that one. I'm glad that you do now. Well, you know, I probably heard it decades ago, and now that you mention it, it does come back out of the corridors of my memory, but, yeah, it certainly wasn't there up on the tip of my tongue. Yeah, Roger. Sorry I couldn't sing the prayer of it. When I answered you, I was in Gardner, believe it or not. Yeah, no worries, no worries. It's all good. I'm glad your radio's working great, Beck. I'm very impressed. Well, thank you. Now, if only my door locks worked again. Yeah, well, you know, I don't know why you don't have an open-door policy to anybody who wants to get in. That Jeep's got a ghost in it, an electronic ghost. Now all of a sudden the electronic door locks will work for the driver's door only, and all the other ones aren't working. I don't know what's going on. I'll have to check it out, Roger. Well, you know, the thing is is that these cars nowadays are nothing but rolling computers, and there's so many circuits that, you know, it's a nightmare to try to solve a problem and get something figured out unless you're an electrical engineer who knows the schematic and design the system, over. Well, that and God bless the man who invented YouTube because YouTube is probably going to give me my answer. You know, YouTube is a phenomenally good resource for so many things. That's how I learned a lot about ham radio is by watching, you know, videos. And, you know, there's certain guys out there who really do an excellent job of teaching about, you know, different radios and one thing and another. Same with auto mechanics. I remember one time I had a problem. with a fuel filter and I thought how in the world am I gonna do this? It's on YouTube, type it in. Sure enough, there's a guy with a tutorial. I love those guys that put those things up because I've been helped so many times with practical things I didn't know how to do but somebody will tell you how to do it on YouTube, over. Yeah, Roger. Well, YouTube told me how to fix my dishwasher, told me how to fix my TV, it told me how to fix the Jeep, how to fix my truck. and a few problems that I've had with it, and how to replace my coil in the refrigerator for the motorhome. I mean, it's a godsend as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, there's a site called iFixit.com. That's "i," the letter "i," "f-i-x," and then "i-t." It's all one word: iFixit, all one word,.com. And they provide a lot of guides for repairing things electronically. So anyway, I haven't used it, but I know of it, and a lot of people think a lot of it. So iFixit.com, that's another possibility, over. Roger, we'll always come on up. Thank you for that, I appreciate it. QQA, go ahead. We think one of the effects are as a child protection with the lights turned on. Check your manual. Only through the windows. And not for the ones we don't need out there. Yeah, not as far as I know for the doors, but I'll find out. I'm going to go to work on that later on today. Feedback? Yes, sir. Now, just a curious question. Does the trouble with these locks have anything to do with the installation of your mobile? You know, I'm thinking that it's coincidental, and the reason why is because I had this problem once before. and there's a wire that goes through the door loom and it breaks and I was in Washington at, in Waterton was the name of the town when that happened to me but I noticed when I opened my door that the wire was broken and I replaced it I didn't replace it, I put a little uh what was in the wire splicer thing just stick it in there and you crimp it And it's worked all the way up until now, and I'm just thinking that the amplifier and the door problem is a coincidence. It has nothing to do with the radio, and I'm gonna go for that. I'll put a little jumper wire in there and see if that fixes my problem and go from there. Roger? Roger, roger. Thank you for trying, though. I've seen some pretty, uh, heard some pretty funny stories about what has happened to a person's vehicle or motorhome or whatever, and it kind of was related to the installation of their, uh, their RF producing ham radio station. Roger, I was talking to a guy who had a Prius, and he put a mobile radio in there with only And he said that every time he'd key his radio, the car would die. It was just, you know, like he led you on the gas. Yep, yep. I hate it. I'll take the points and condenser and the ignition coil. I'm with you. I got rid of my geotracker. I'm kind of kicking myself for doing that, but I had a 93 geotracker and an electronic frontal body, but I also had an older distributor with a switch and condenser and everything. and a 2300 Holley CFM carburetor to go on it just in case we had an EMP and it blew everything out then I could blow all that in and run anyway That's that sailboard Anyway, I'm going to take care of myself You guys all have a blessed day and hopefully we don't ruin CMO Hop hop, bye Yankees 73P, have a great day and same to you Sandy, W7SAB 73, we'll talk to you guys tomorrow, WB7MX.
