### Bible Study Summary: Galatians 1:11-24

#### Introduction and Context

The Bible study began with greetings and check-ins, where participants shared personal updates and weather conditions. Health and personal matters were discussed, with special mention of Jeff's absence due to travel for funding coordination. The group acknowledged the importance of prayer and support for each other, setting a tone of community and mutual care. The study focused on Galatians 1:11-24, with Roger (WB7VZL) reading the passage from the New American Standard Bible. This section of Galatians is a pivotal part of Paul's defense of his apostolic authority and the origin of his gospel message.

#### Scripture Reading and Discussion

Paul's integrity and commitment to truth were central themes in the discussion of Galatians 1:11-24. The passage highlights Paul's claim that his gospel message did not come from human sources but from divine revelation. This underscores the importance of living a consistent and credible life, especially for those in leadership roles within the church. The group reflected on the battle against false teachers and Judaizers, emphasizing the need for clarity and faithfulness to the true message of the gospel.

The transformation of Paul from a persecutor to an apostle was also a significant point of discussion. This transformation illustrates the nature of salvation and the power of divine intervention in a person's life. The group discussed the authority of Scripture versus human authority, linking this to the principles of the Reformation, particularly the concept of sola scriptura (Scripture alone). This principle asserts that the Bible, and not human tradition or ecclesiastical authority, is the ultimate authority in matters of faith and practice.

#### Prayer Requests and Community Support

The session included a series of prayer requests, reflecting the diverse needs of the group. Keith and Ronnie's health and mental stability were highlighted, as were George's son Tommy's housing needs and Gordon's health needs. Roger and Daylene's ministry and health were also mentioned, alongside Mike's recovery of taste and smell after COVID-19. Jim's opportunities to share the gospel and Scott's work safety and productivity were discussed, along with Brian's witness to Mariah and his son Avery's relationship. Jane and Judy's rehabilitation after a stroke, Eric's military protection, Pete's comfort after losing his aunt, and Jeff's funding for Operation Worship were also part of the prayer requests.

#### Technical and Miscellaneous Notes

The group also addressed technical issues, such as frequency deviation on the Utah SDR and band conditions affecting reception. Adjustments were discussed to improve reception and clarity. In addition to these technical points, the session included light-hearted moments, personal health updates, and mentoring on equipment and operation. These elements contributed to a well-rounded and engaging study session.

Okay, as you all know, Jeff, AK6OK is not with us today because he's traveling back east to meet with some people to coordinate some funding for... his operation worship so he can purchase Bibles and chapels for ships and for men in the military. So we definitely have him on our prayer list today. Okay, any other check-ins this morning? Please come now. WB7VZL And good morning, Roger, WB7VZO. Good to hear your voice. How are you doing, brother? And any prayer requests, over. Well, yeah, the future of Autumn and her, well, she's, I would say, kind of, into watching movies from the library and I know that we're concerned about just yeah I think I think her time here is very limited so need to pray for what procedures etc but yeah thank you for your prayers for Darlene and looking forward to the net today. Thank you, Max. All right, Roger, real good. Copy all, and we'll be praying with reference to Otto and also with reference to Daylene. Got that. Okay, Roger, I'm going to ask you to read for us today, so if you could turn in your Bible, please, to Galatians. chapter 1, verses 11 to 24. When the time comes to read, if you could be prepared to read that, I would appreciate it. That's Galatians 1:11 to 24. All right, any last-minute check-ins, please come down with your call sign. All right, hearing nothing, we're going to go ahead and proceed with the net. Now, you know, it's really interesting As we look at 2 Corinthians, which we just went through as a Bible study, we saw that Paul was being severely attacked. His character, his conduct, his credibility as an apostle was being slandered and vilified. It's the old argument against the man, argumentum ad hominem, they say in Latin. And that is, if you can tear the man down, then you can disregard his argument. And that's very common. And Paul's undergoing it here with reference to Galatia as well. You know, what's interesting is wherever Paul went and did work, there were always these false teachers who came along behind and tried to subvert his work and draw people away into a different gospel. And we talked about that some yesterday. And so what we see him doing here is... is defending himself once again in this section that Roger's going to read to us. And people are saying, "Oh, he's not really an apostle. He got his message from other people." And he's saying, "No, I got it directly from Jesus Christ, just like all the other apostles did." And so he describes how he received the gospel, and why it is that he is a true apostle, because he was taught directly by Jesus Christ himself, just like all the other apostles were. And that's why we can't have any more apostles, because there's no more people who are taught directly by Jesus Christ like the original apostles were. And that was one of the qualifications for being an apostle, is they had to be someone who had been in the presence, the physical presence of the Lord Jesus, and received instruction directly from Him. So we're going to see how Paul received that instruction himself. All right, so that is an introduction to our passage. Before we get started with our passage, we want to open our time together in prayer. And so Al, KJ7QQH, could you please open in prayer for us today? Thank you, Pastor Max. Let's all come together in prayer. Thank you, Father. Heavenly Father, we thank you for this time together here in your presence. We pray for your guidance leading us into this blessed day. And we ask that this blessing on our fellowship and our made of words come to bring us up to a closer relationship with you. We pray this all through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, your son. Amen. WB7VZL reading, and I'll be reading from the New American Standard Bible. "For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. For you have heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure, and tried to destroy it. And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my countrymen, being more extremely zealous for my ancestral traditions. But when He who had set me apart even from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood. Nor did I go to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me. But I went away to Arabia and returned once more to Damascus. Then three years later I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and stayed with him fifteen days. But I did not see other of the apostles except James the Lord's brother. Now, in what I'm writing to you, I assure you before God that I am not lying. Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia, and I was still unknown by sight to the churches of Judea which were in Christ. But only they kept hearing, he who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith which he once tried to destroy. And they were glorifying God because of me. Back to you, Max. This is WGB7 of EZL. Roger, great reading. Thank you so much for that. All right, any comments on this section, please come now to your call sign. Well, the VWB, somebody's in L. Roger, please go ahead. I had forgotten, since I last read this, the almost like an oath here in verse 20, that that account was as close to taking an oath as you could get. Yeah, well said. And he kind of does the same thing in verse 11 when he says, but I certify you, brethren. And then, as you said there, in verse 20, he says, now the things which I write unto you before God, I lie not. So he has this idea that God is listening to everything he says, and, of course, God is reading everything he writes. And he has this idea. this awareness that God is watching and that God is listening and God is evaluating, and he's going to have to answer to God for every representation he makes about everything that he says and everything he writes. And that's why he's so careful. about what he writes because he doesn't want God on the day of judgment saying, well, Paul, you lied when you wrote this or you wrote that. And, of course, we know that the Word of God is inerrant, it's infallible, it's authoritative, and therefore it contains no errors, and it certainly contains no lies. And so Paul was a man who had a tremendous commitment to accuracy and truthfulness and all that he said and all that he wrote. So in that sense, he was a scrupulous follower of the ninth commandment, thou shalt not bear false witness. And one of the problems, Roger, I see in our culture is that lying is just considered normal. And people play fast and loose with the facts and the truth all of the time. And I think it's really incumbent upon us as Christians. to not overstate or understate, but state exactly what the truth is. And if you don't want to talk about the truth, don't misrepresent it, just be silent. So anyway, great point there, Roger. Any other comments? Go ahead. QQH. Al, KQ7QQH, go ahead. It looks like here that Paul is his own defense witness against the toughest prosecutor, which is the court of public opinion. Over. Yeah, Paul is on the defense stand against the worst prosecutor there is, which is the court of public opinion. And you are exactly right. He is struggling here to defend his reputation, because if he can be shown to be a man of bad character, then that destroys the credibility of his gospel. And so Paul hates talking about himself. He hates having to defend himself. But when the credibility of the gospel is at stake, he has to step up to the plate, say the truth, and accept the fallout that comes from doing that. And that's what we all have to do. And so here he is saying to the Galatian church, here's who I am, here's where my message came from, and here's why it is the truth. So, you know, people will pass their judgments. But really, in the end, the only judgment that matters is God's judgment. But if we're going to minister to people, we at least have to have their consciences that we are people of integrity and people who live consistently. people who live out what we teach, and so therefore are representation of what we say can be trusted as fundamentally true and valid. Sure, by all means search the scriptures and see whether these things are so, but, you know, a known liar is going to be treated with skepticism. A known person of integrity is going to be treated with, you know, believability and credibility and the assumption. that they're telling the truth. That's the battle that's going on here. Who is this guy Paul? And what do people think of him? And should his representations be taken at face value with the presumption that they're true? Or should we be highly skeptical of this guy and view him with a side eye and and take everything he says with a giant grain of salt. That's the battle that's going on here, Al. And this is the reason why we need to live consistent, credible lives. This is why when people hear us talk, they say, well, you know, if that guy said that, then it's probably true because he doesn't misrepresent stuff. And so that's what's going on here, Al. Back to you there, Al. Go ahead. Hey man, and that's like, in police work we have to show a buzzer approach because every little thing is scrutinized. Copy that, yeah, we have several people, three I know for sure, that were career police officers on this net. And yeah, integrity in policing is incredibly important. And of course, they wind up testifying a lot in courts of law, and if someone is proven to be guilty of perjury, well, they don't get to be a police officer anymore. just as police officers and soldiers need to have integrity, so do Christians. And we need to have as much integrity in what we say and how we represent things. And I think that's one reason, Al, why the Bible says, let every man be swift to hear and slow to speak. because, you know, you need to think about what you say before you say it so you're sure that when you say it, you don't have to retract it or correct it. All right, Al, great comment there. Okay, other comments, please come now. KB7, ZXN. Kevin, KB7, ZXN, go ahead. Yeah, good comments here. And, you know, it's really the defense of the gospel throughout this epistle. And it's interesting to kind of step back and consider that Paul didn't initially really intended for this to be a book of the Bible per se as a general epistle to the region of Galatia there, to all the churches that he had harvested and planted, and the Judaizers had come in behind them and said, well, you know, Paul, first of all, you know, he's a nice guy, but he's kind of watered down in the gospel. You really have to... you know, we're the Jews, we should know, we're God's chosen people, you need to keep the law, and yeah, you know, Christ is good, he'll forgive you, but you also need to add the law to it, and that, you know, the gospel is the good news, and if you have to add to that, what Christ did. That is not good. Christ, as we know, went to the cross. He gave himself a ransom for us. He died on that cross. He rose the third day, which, you know, we're going to have a glorious celebration coming up here in a few days. But That is the good news, that He did it all, that He gave His life of ransom for us, and that either the gospel is the good news that He gave His life to us, but the other challenge is here that they... continue to challenge Paul's authority. And, you know, because he, well, you know, he wasn't one of the 12 original apostles. And so they tried to diminish him in ways that they say, well, you know, he's just kind of out there sharing a watered-down gospel. But he starts out in verse 11 just very strongly with that. Hey, these are not my words. This is revelation directly from Christ himself. And it is, the good news is, the grace plus nothing. You know, I've been a part of churches in younger years where they've had different rules, and maybe some have come from a church that way, you know, you can't drink, smoke, or chew, and don't go out with girls that do, you know. But... there are things that God has ordinances for the church that are certainly acts of obedience that we should follow, but they are not to be confused with the grace that is the salvation, the good news. And it's the one thing that, you know, that really Paul is adamant about is that very fact that it is, you know, in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone. KB7, Sonny Jackson. Yeah, Kevin, well said. I got most of that. Appreciate those comments. And, you know, you're right. There's always a struggle for accuracy in biblical teachings. And, you know, the Bible says that we need to study to show ourselves approved unto God, workmen that need not to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. And so Peter, in 2 Peter chapter 3, talks about some who twist the Scriptures to their own destruction. And he admits that there are some things Paul has written that are hard to be understood. And so it requires us to be diligent students of the Word. And I appreciate your emphasis on that, and also on the emphasis that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, and Christ alone. And that was the big watchword of the Reformation is sola fide, which is faith alone; sola gratia, which is grace alone; and sola Christos, which is Christ alone. And of course there were two others there, but that's the core and the essence of the Gospel. So, Kevin, thank you for your comment. All right, anyone else? Please go ahead. I'll follow up. Follow up, Kevin. TV7's Ed Akson. Go ahead. You know, it is interesting, though, and the topic of baptism, I know, came up yesterday. But even in the Reformation, you know, there is a group, well, the Reformation, the Reformation the Anabaptists through the period of the Reformation, even through long before the Reformation started, that, you know, believed and preached believers' baptism. And they were strongly opposed not only by the Catholics, but most all of the Protestants as well. And Luther and Catholics and almost every Reformation Reformation sect killed and murdered a lot of Anabaptists because they believed you know again in you know the good news the gospel is you know that that by Christ alone by grace alone earth you know by grace through faith but because they believed in believers baptism and full immersion following salvation. That's why we identify it as Believer's Baptism. Many, many hundreds, well, thousands were murdered and killed in massacres. And just for that simple statement of faith. And so this is no small thing. We can look at it as a simple point of debate or discussion, that this caused countless people, probably millions through the years if you count the Catholics that massacred those that taught and believed this, the Paulicians and Waldempsies and later Anabaptists and such. This very simple fact that it is not a religion, you know, faith is not tied to a state, authority and baptism is for believers those that have been saved. KB7 is ready. Yeah Kevin, you know the study of church history is really really useful and beneficial because you know the same controversies that we deal with today are not new. they have been dealt with in the past very thoroughly. And, you know, it never ceases to amaze me how people of this generation think that they're the first ones that ever came up with some theology. And, you know, as we study church history, we learn about the various aberrations, the various battles for truth, and how the church has navigated through all of those controversies. You know, whether it was the issue of the Lord's Supper, or whether it was the issue of baptism, whether it was the issue of church government, whether it was the issue of the terms of salvation, the battle for those truths have been going on. The nature of the Trinity, all of those things have gone on. So I think it's really important for us to have the humility to listen to our forefathers, see the struggles they went through, understand the arguments that were made on both sides, and recognize that we stand in continuity with a historic Orthodox Christianity. And then, of course, there's some variations on things that are of lesser importance. But when it comes to the Gospel, we have to be all on the same page. because there is only one gospel. And it's important that we rightly understand it and that we rightly express it. Kevin, thank you for that follow-up. All right, any other comments? Please come down. All right, one of the things I'd like to talk about from our passage is the transformation of Paul and the glory of conversion. You know, he talks about who he used to be. how that in verse 13, beyond measure, he persecuted the Church of God and wasted it. And he was exceedingly zealous for legalistic, pharisaical Judaism. But then he got saved. And what a transformation. And if there's ever any example of divine sovereign election, effectual calling... and irresistible grace, it's this man's conversion. I mean, he's on his way to kill Christians, and Jesus suddenly grabs him and says, you're mine, and I'm going to change you, and I'm going to turn you into a proponent of the very thing that you have been persecuting. And so he says in verse 13, pardon me, verse 15, but when it pleased God... who separated me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace to reveal his Son in me that I might preach him among the heathen. Anyway, then he goes on and describes, you know, the work that he did afterwards. But verse 23 is kind of the summary verse here. But they heard only that he which persecuted us in times past... now preaches the faith which he once destroyed. And so if any man be in Christ, he's a new creation. The old things pass away and all things become new. And that's the nature of salvation and regeneration, is that our heart is changed and therefore our whole life is changed. Our message changes and things we hated now we love and things that we loved now we hate. And so, you know, in the midst of all this controversy, we have a wonderful testimony of God's saving, transforming grace and changing someone from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, that he might obtain an inheritance among all those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus. And we've seen that right here in our own Bible study. We've had many testimonies of people who are living very hostile lives towards Christianity, and now they love Christianity. And nothing left. The Divine Sovereign Initiative and the inward regeneration and conversion and justification can explain that process. All right. Any other comments? Please come now. Kevin, KB7 is next in. Please go ahead. I hope to hear from others too because there is a lot here. One of the things too, kind of to consider, is if I think one of the things that really upset the Judaizers, if you will, those that were convinced that they needed to still keep the law, was this was a huge cultural shift as well as religious shift. You know, proclaiming the gospel and really the democracies, if you will, the polity of the local churches and the independence that they all each answer to Christ, that it is not, you know, historically the Jews really were a theocratic faith. and even though they were under Roman rule, it was part of their identity as a people, as a nation. And so it was kind of hand in hand that they were identified under the law to be God's people. And this is Paul preaching, you know, grace and planting local churches and that they were not connected to physical Israel or the people group of Israel. But God had opened up grace under the new covenant to all people. And this was revolutionary in Austin and in Florida. It was really kind of the establishment of capitalism or democracy as we know it. And so there was also this cultural resistance, too. It's interesting. I have come across people in my life and later life that still challenge Paul's authority. There is a fairly, well, I don't think they're real substantial, but they definitely have an established presence. a group that removed all of the officials of Paul. They will have to read the New Testament, but they will exclude all of Paul's writings because they still challenge his authority, which, by the way, well established. in the word and that's another discussion. KJ7, ZX. KJ7, you late? Al, KJ7, KQH. I'm completely unable to read Kevin at all on that last comment. Al, could you give me a relay please? Kevin was elaborating on his earlier statement. I had a bit of a follow-up on two of those. I just really liked the message you made earlier about the ad column in the text. It seems like the people he was talking with, their best argument is him for what he was trying to do. preach was to not attack the message but attack the messenger. So he was jumping, band against the tide so as to be solvent. Yeah, I copy that Al. Thank you. I copied most of that. And so you're right. They couldn't rebut his theology so they had to attack his person because the message was impeccably accurate and they just didn't like its content because it attacked their pride. and, you know, the self-righteousness that they had. And so they had to attack the person because they couldn't attack the argument. Kevin, I apologize for not being able to hear you. And Al, thank you for the relay. I really appreciate that. The band seems to be deteriorating on my end at least. So we'll go ahead and work with this a little bit more. Anybody else have any comments, please come down with your call sign. Okay, I'm signing off. Fox 5GZL. Okay, I had a double there. I'm going to go with Will, Keeley Mike 5F first, and then Roger will go to you. you Yeah, I was able to read Kevin fairly well, but one of the things that he was adding was that there's a sect of people that have actually eliminated Paul's writings from their readings of the Gospels. Okay, I'm sorry. Okay, Will, thank you for that comment. Unable to read most of that. Can anybody give me a relay on what Will said, over? Will Smith: TQH. TQH, go ahead. Will Smith: I'll go ahead. Will was saying that something I left out was that the people were removing parts of what Paul was writing and to put their own narrative on it. Yeah, copy. They were removing part of Paul's writings to fit their own narrative. Well, you know, that's the thing is that we have to live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. And no one of those words is dispensable. And so if we're going to preach the Bible, as Paul said to Timothy, we have to preach the whole counsel of God. And, of course, you know, we're always going to have some points of disagreement over some of what Paul is saying. But all of us agree that everything he says and everything the rest of the Bible says needs to be embraced as well. All right, Roger, WB7BZL, come forward in your comment. Yeah, our path is pretty strong and pretty secure today. But I couldn't help but think of my... young friend that I baptized when he was a young man, Craig. And I kept thinking when I asked him, investigating the rumor, kinda like the rumor about Paul, what was it that attracted you to make a switch from a Protestant church, meaning the Seventh-day Adventist church, to becoming a Catholic, and supposedly it's coming up in a week and a half or so. I haven't heard further, but it was, without hesitating, it was... authority, the idea of authority. And I think this is really the big heart of this passage. Here in 1 Corinthians 1, and you know it well, where Paul says in verse 10, 1 Corinthians 1:10, "I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree, and there be no divisions among you, but you be made complete in the same mind and in the Now, he doesn't appeal, of course, like Craig did, to the Church, who basically said, "Define what the Scriptures would be from," as he said, "the Gnosticism that it infiltrated." I'm sure there was some of that in the early Church, but he claims that Catholic Church is saying, I define what the scripture has to say. And then of course that famous passage, now I mean this, that each one of you in verse 12 is saying, I am of Paul, I am of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ. So no wonder he didn't want flesh to be involved, human flesh, and wanted to go direct to Jesus Christ and having even no contact. So the purity of that message was very, very important. to Paul for his authority and also for the church, because there were always divisions, as we see here in 1 Corinthians, over. Yeah, really well said, Roger. And, you know, what you're pointing out here, which is so critically important, is what is your source of authority? Let me repeat that. What is your ultimate source of authority? Because whatever your ultimate source of authority is, That's your God. It's the nature of the definition of the term "God" is that God is the highest source of authority in the universe. And of course, God has expressed His authority, His mind, and His will through the Bible. And so when the highest source of authority is the Church, then you've replaced God with an idol. And so this is the reason why we don't see the Pope as the highest authority, we see the Scriptures as the highest authority. Because if the Pope contradicts the Scriptures and he's the highest source of authority, we will end up believing the Pope instead of the Scriptures. He's supposedly the infallible interpreter of the Scriptures. Well, he's just a man, and just one man. And so you're right. Here we got people saying, well, I'm following this guy. I'm following Peter, and I'm following Apollos, and I'm following Paul. And no, we need to say, I'm following the Bible. I'm following the scriptures. And that was the great cry of the Reformation was sola scripturis, scriptures alone as the ultimate and exclusive source of authority. So everything I say needs to be tested by the Word of God. And everything the Pope says needs to be tested by the Word of God. in everything any person says. In fact, Paul commended the Bereans for checking him out when he went to Berea. It says that they received his preaching with all readiness of mind, and then they searched the Scriptures to see whether those things were true or not. And so Jesus said himself in John 5, search the scriptures. For in them you think you have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me. So even Jesus submitted himself to the word of God as the final and ultimate authority in his life. And so it's important for us to be very clear. about what our source of authority is, and that's the problem with Craig, Roger, is that Craig adopted a different source of authority than the scriptures. They're still an authority, but they're a subordinate authority. And so that's why Peter says we ought to obey God rather than men, because ultimately God in his word supersedes anything any human says. And that's why each one of us needs to read the Bible for ourselves and be sure that whatever teaching we're getting is congruent with the teaching of the Word of God. So, Roger, good illustration and paramount issue. What is your source of ultimate authority? Is it God and His Word, or is it some human running around here on the earth, whoever he may be? All right, any other comments? Please come down. Is that a claim? Is that a claim? Go ahead. Yeah, hopefully you can hear me a little better. You know, excellent points. And I wanted to touch back, too, on a point you made of Paul's changed life. You know, when he makes the claim, hey... This good news that I'm sharing is the revelation of Christ Himself. It's not my thoughts and my ideas. How is He going to prove that? Well, He proved that by His changed life. He points out that His life was transformed from persecuting the church and going after Christianity to now being among the Gentiles, giving his testimony here and everywhere to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. KB7, is that acceptable? Yeah, well said, Kevin, and good copy this time. The band changed a little bit for me, so copy all. And you're right. The credibility of his life gave credibility to his message, and he really lived out what he taught. and that's why he's worthy to be listened to. You know, he gave quite the list there in 2 Corinthians of all the things he suffered and experienced in the cause of Christ. And he says in Galatians here at the end, it just occurred to me in Galatians chapter 6, He says, I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. And, yeah, verse 17, from henceforth let no man trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. That's Galatians 6, 17. So you're right. His credibility was beyond reproach. And, therefore, the message he conveyed... carried that credibility. All right, we're just about out of time. We've got time for one more comment. Anybody want to comment? Please come down. WB-70 at Elm. Roger, please go ahead. You know, one of the criticisms of the Council of Trent and et cetera, that the videos that Craig was watching from the Catholic Church and their evangelism, that they say, well, you know, what Luther added, the alone, the alone is really not part of the passage that was added by Luther. But when you consider the times that Luther and where he came from, trying to work his way, and his work almost killed him physically, He was trying to work his way, and so we can understand in the context of the time that he was living, the present truth, that he was inclined to underline the alarm because, yeah, understandable. Another thing that Craig, and I really appreciate what you had to say, when we were discussing the issues of authority, He basically said the church was the one that decided what to put in the New Testament. And I said, "Well, Craig, I don't need ultimately the New Testament per se. It's in the Older Testament, and it's found in the books of Moses." The Gospel can be found in the books of Moses. And so I was forced to go to that route because his authority was... he was trying to undermine the New Testament. But I said, just like you said so beautifully, "Jesus went to Moses." as his foundation, and partly because he was talking to Pharisees and Sadducees who only believed in the books of Moses. Over. Yeah, well said, Roger. Appreciate that, and completely agree with you. You know, you're right. The Gospel is the same in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Just like salvation was always by faith... by grace through faith in God's promised Messiah, now it's by grace through faith in God's provided Messiah. And so, you know, the idea that circumcision saved or had any part of salvation was not true in the Old Testament, just like baptism has no part in salvation in the New Testament. In other words, we don't have a different gospel in the New Testament than we had in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, we have the same gospel we had in the Old Testament, and that gospel was articulated in Genesis 3 and verse 15, where God said that he was going to provide the seed of the woman to crush the head of the serpent, And so he was pointing them to this coming seed of the woman in whom they should trust for their redemption. So in Genesis 3.15, we see that salvation was by grace. God didn't have to provide a Savior. He did. We see that it's by faith. He's telling them to look away from themselves to another. And he's telling them that the object of that faith is that promised Messiah. And so it's by grace through faith in the promised Messiah, and we have salvation by grace through faith in the provided Messiah. And yes, there were things like circumcision and baptism, but they're not of the essence of the gospel. And we don't have a gospel in the Old Testament of salvation by grace through faith. And then in the New Testament, we've got a different gospel of salvation by grace through faith plus baptisms. So we're not preaching two different Gospels any more than people were saved by grace through faith plus circumcision. Circumcision didn't save anybody, and neither does baptism, and it's not a part of the Gospel. All right, real good, Roger. Thank you for that excellent comment. it. And this whole issue of Martin Luther saying, sola fide, faith alone, that word alone, it's clearly implied, just like we don't have the word Trinity anywhere in the Bible, but we talk about the Trinity, because it is a concept that is described there. Well, in the same way, we might not find salvation by faith alone directly stated, but Ephesians 2.8.9 states it. By grace you are saved through faith. It's not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. Now, here's the alone part. Not of works. So when it says it's not of works, it's saying it is by faith alone, apart from any human action that we might take, whether it's circumcision or whether it's baptism or anything else. So anyway, the alone part there, Roger, is right there in Ephesians. All right, we are way out of time. We need to close in prayer. I haven't heard from David, KK7PDI, this morning. He was scheduled to pray. David, KK7PDI, are you there? Would you like to close in prayer, or do you want me to do that? Over. All right, not hearing from David, so I'm going to go ahead and close our time together in prayer. All right. Our kind and gracious Father, we thank you so much for this passage. We thank you for the record that it gives of the conversion of the Apostle Paul and the transformation that took place in his life. And Father, we pray that that same transformation would take place in our lives as we become saved. And, Father, for those of us who are saved, we can look back and we can see we are not the people that we used to be. So in any event, Father, we just thank you that salvation transforms the sinner into a saint. And those who are lost are now found. and we are renewed into the image of Christ from which we sow because of sin in the garden. Father, we just pray that we, like Paul, would be faithful in preaching the gospel, help us to be clear about what that gospel is. And Lord, I pray that as we share the gospel, that we would see people brought to faith, just like happened with the fall of Tarsus. Father, today we want to pray for our brother Keith, WB7RKR, and his wife, Ronnie, who had to go to the ER the other day with high blood pressure and a migraine. And Lord, we know that she's had other issues. Father, she's really precarious in her health. And then, Lord, the mental stability issues with the Alzheimer's. Father, give Kate an extraordinary level of grace and strength to be able to help navigate Ronnie through all of these difficulties. Thank you for his faithfulness to her. Thank you for the love and the servanthood that he shows to her. And, Lord, I just pray that you would give Keith real wisdom in managing Ronnie's health challenges. And, Lord, we pray that you'd have mercy on Ronnie, that you would heal her mind, and that you would heal her body. And, Lord, we just ask for your kindness in dealing with Keith there. Father, we just want to pray for George, K2KJX's son Tommy. Father, he has a house, he needs housing in South Carolina. He's got four boys, and Lord, he needs some shelter. And so Lord, I just want to pray that today Tommy would be able to find a place to live there in South Carolina. and that you would open a door, literally, to a house for him to be able to move in and be able to provide for his son. Father, we just heard a request today from Will to Mike Fyfe Foxtrot for a man named Gordon. And, Lord, I wasn't real clear what his health needs are, but, Lord, you know what they are. And I pray, Lord, that whatever Gordon's health needs are, you'd be pleased to meet those needs. Father, we also want to pray for our brother Roger, WB7BZL. Lord, he's really tried hard to minister to Autumn. And it just seems like that her heart is cold and hard and indifferent and attached to the world. And Lord, all those ministries eventually come to an end one way or the other. And Lord, I just pray that Autumn would be able to find another place to live in the next couple of days, and that Roger and Daylene would have some peace in their home. Lord, I know that there's a lot of stress there with Daylene going through these 16 radiation treatments. And Lord, I just pray that... Those treatments would be effective in eradicating the cancer, if there is any remaining cancer, in her breast tissue there. Father, I just want to pray today for Mike, N7FFM, and for the recovery of his taste and smell after having COVID. Father, for our dear brother Jim at 7BKE, that you would give him opportunities to share the gospel. Lord, he's a great evangelist, and bring him to people in whose heart you're working, and who you're calling to yourself, and may he lead many more to Christ before he goes to be with Christ himself. Father, we just want to pray for our dear brother Scott in 7 MTA who is working today. Lord, keep him safe. Give him wisdom. And, Father, I pray that he would have a really productive day and your good hand would be on him. Lord, we just pray for the salvation of all of our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Father, we just ask that you would work grace in their hearts and protect them from the ways of the world and the attacks of Satan. Lord, have mercy on our kids and grandkids and great-grandkids. Father, we just pray for our brother Brian, KJ7PWM, and his witness to Mariah, his secretary. Lord, we just pray that you would really confirm saving faith in her heart. And Lord, may she devour that Bible that Brian gave to her. Father, we just want to pray for Brian's son, Avery, and his girlfriend, Zoe, that they would get married and that they would become saved. Father, they are the parents of little five-year-old Alex, who we hear on the radio from time to time. And they're also expecting another child. That must be pretty near now. And, Lord, I just pray that she would have a safe and healthy delivery and a safe and healthy baby. And, Lord, we just pray that Avery and Zoe would get married, get saved, and be good, godly parents. to both Alex and the new baby. Father, we just want to pray for Jane, K7-OAO. We ask her to pray for Judy to regain her ability to speak after her stroke. Father, rehabbing after a stroke is a tough, tough situation. Father, just connect those neurons together, rebuild those pathways. in Judy's brain, and Lord, I pray that she would once again be able to speak clearly. And Lord, we just pray for the victims of childhood sexual abuse. Father, bring an end to that satanic evil, and bring an end to those who perpetrate it and practice it. Father, look and judge. Father, I pray for Al-KG7QQH's wife, Jerry, who has a cataract surgery on April 1st. And so, Lord, I pray for Jerry that the cataract surgery would go really well, and, Father, her vision would be restored and she would have clarity of sight. Lord, we pray for our brother Ed in 6XOH. His nephew Eric is in the military and deployed to Israel. And, Father, we know what a powder keg that place is. Lord, just protect Eric and all those who live in Israel from the assault that arrives from Iran and from the Muslims in general. Father, give Eric protection. Draw him to yourself. Strengthen his walk with you. Father, we just want to pray for our brother Pete, W6NOX. His aunt died. And Lord, we just pray for comfort and peace for the family. Lord, just to be with Pete, and I pray that through the loss of his aunt, that all the good memories would flood back in, and he would be comforted at knowing that he had this wonderful relationship and the great impact she had on him. Father, we just pray for our dear brother Jeff, AK6OK, who's traveling back east today. for meetings with people and ministries in order to obtain funding for operation worship. Lord, we pray that the need for Bibles and chapel installations on ships would be met. Lord, provide the finances for our brother Jeff and bring him safely back to us after a successful meeting and ministry. Father, we just want to thank you today for your goodness, mercy, and grace to each one of us. Thank you for the gift of your son, Jesus Christ, and thank you for the improvement of the band here at the Lounge. Father, we just pray that you gather us together tomorrow, and Father, may we know your grace and mercy throughout today. Give us that peace that passes all understanding. May it fill our hearts and minds. Father, we ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen. All right, this is WB7NX, Net Control for the West Coast Bible Study. I want to thank all the stations who checked in today and those who stood by to give us a clear operating frequency. We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m. in order to read the scriptures, understand their meaning method and application. And then pray for grace and mercy to live out what we learn and for God to meet the needs of those that are in our circle of fellowship. I'll be returning this frequency now to regular amateur use. This is WB7MF. WB7MF, thank you, 7ER. 870R, go ahead. It's good to thank you today for your information there. That was exceptional. 870R. Jerry, thank you for that. I sure appreciate you, brother, and your fellowship. It's always such a pleasure. to have your support and your participation. All right, any other comments, please come down. W7RKB, go ahead, Bert. Yes, yes, thank you. Thank you, sir, for the things you did. You bet, Bert, thank you. Appreciate you a lot and appreciate the support. All right, WB7MX here. Will, you know what you have to do. Good luck, Mark. Good luck, Mark. Thank you, Mark. WB7MXE. All right, Bert, I love you, brother, and you guys have a great day today, and we'll see you tomorrow. All right, WB7MX. Will, QM5F, I see your note there. That was probably part of my problem. I can't imagine why that is the case. But I will look into that. I think I was on 3975. That's probably why I had a hard time hearing people on the Utah SDR. Well, thanks. I will keep track of that in the future. I came 5FWB70MX. I'm Yankee with today's joke. I'm flying Yankee with today's Joe Grant. Roger, are you there? I am. Not running an amp, but I am here. Okay. What game do baby cows play? Repeat that question. What game do baby cows play? All right. Musical chairs. Okay, I didn't follow that answer there, Beck. Something chairs, go ahead, say again. Musical chairs. Instead of musical, musical chairs. Oh, musical, M-O-O-S-I-C-A-L, musical chairs. Okay, we got that, Beck. That's a good one. Thank you. Roger that. Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee. That is funny. So what do you call a cow that just had a baby? Mommy? Decaffeinated. Ha ha. For those of you who didn't hear that, Kevin said, "What do you call a cow that just had a baby?" And the answer is decaffeinated. I sure appreciate your morning jokes, Becca. A little level T goes a long way. KB7 is at accept. Roger, well I appreciate the opportunity to be able to tell them. Well, K-8P, WB7 in the action area, I don't know if you're still on the air, but thank you so much for pointing out that frequency deviation on the Utah SPR. The Utah is my faithful SDR, and today was just garbage. And I don't know how that cursor got moved, but it did. And that's one reason why, Kevin, I wasn't able to hear you too well. Ordinarily, I pick you up super good on the Utah, and even when the band is bad. So, anyway, problem solved. Will, QA5OxFile, thank you so much. WB70, man. It's KM5F. I'm glad that helped. I tried to get that early so you would see it. And I noticed I've had problems with that in the sound, too. It can catch me when I'm on my other computer. KM5F. All right, Will. Good. Now I've got a new point of knowledge, and I will pay attention to that in the future if things aren't working well there. So, yeah, I hear everybody lovely now. So live and learn, and I appreciate you mentoring me there, Will. Thank you so much for that. Alright, WB70MX is clear and standing by. I can't wait to hear you on the front. Great to hear you, Al. Well, you know, yeah, Al, that's very unusual. You were picking stuff up today. I couldn't, and I couldn't hear you. I was picking you up a better on the Half Moon Bay. So that's how I was listening to you. But I've got you good now. The band seems to have improved as the sun comes up. And so oftentimes that's what happens. But Al, I really appreciate your relays today. Man, you were golden for me. And you helped me out so much. Thank you for that. I appreciate that a lot, Al. Over. Big copy, yeah I understand. It seemed like there was something off and I think the gun wheel spotted. That's the PTCI or the press, the WSCR. Does make a difference though. Yeah, copy that. It sure does. It sure does, yep. Okay, real good. Alright, WB7MX, standing by. By the way Alan, how's John doing? Any news on him? Just referring to your friend here in Sioux Bay, he's doing okay And continuing his chemo treatment site He thinks that he's doing those every two weeks So we'll keep you posted if he's on the go Yeah, copy that And any news on Lucas, your neighbor who suddenly lost his hearing Did they ever figure out what was going on and solve that? No, I don't think so He has an appointment next week to find out more about his treatment options from that path to St. Fountain. I'm going to be having lunch with the new dad today and I'll learn more and more about it. Yeah, copy that. Okay, we'll continue to pray for him, tell his dad that we're praying for him on the West Coast Barber Study here. and just praying that that situation will be resolved and he'll get back his faculties. So anyway, I, of course, will continue to pray for Jerry under cataract surgery as well. All right, Al, thanks for those updates. Appreciate that. I'll let you go. WB7, New Mexico. Jerry, this is Drew Banks, this is Lifting, and tomorrow we're going to be heading up to Albany General for an MRI on the cap in the spine area, and so let's find out why her arms keep going to sleep. Yeah, copy, tomorrow you're going to Albany General for an MRI because I don't know why Jerry's arms are going to sleep. It sounds like it's something in her upper spine. What do you think? Yeah, copy that. Okay, well, that's a big deal. That's a very big deal. And, yeah, we'll pray that it's just something temporary, maybe some inflammation or something, and not anything that needs surgeries. Alright, good. Thank you for that. We'll have her on the prayer list tomorrow for sure. We've got more travels this way. Copy that, yeah. you This is WB7MX, I'll be clear at QRT, see you all tomorrow, God bless. 7-3, we bless, see you, bye. *Rain* *train noise* *Rain* *Rain*. Thank you. *train noise* *Rain* Thank you.
