#### Bible Study: 2 Corinthians 12

In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul revisits the church in Corinth, addressing the issue of false teachers who have been sowing discord and undermining his authority. This chapter is a powerful testament to Paul's humility and his focus on Christ, not self. In verses 1-10, Paul recounts a personal experience that underscores his commitment to Christ's message, despite the challenges he faces.

Paul's vision of the third heaven, described in verses 2-4, is a profound moment where he is caught up to the presence of God. This vision is not a physical journey but a spiritual one, where Paul experiences a glimpse of the divine. The third heaven refers to the highest level of heaven, where God dwells, and it is a reminder of the ultimate goal of every Christian's journey.

The concept of the "thorn in the flesh" in verses 7-10 is a significant theme in this passage. Paul describes a substantial hindrance that he faces, which could be interpreted as a physical ailment like loss of eyesight, epilepsy, migraines, or malaria. Despite his repeated prayers for its removal, God chooses to allow this thorn to remain, emphasizing the sufficiency of God's grace. This thorn serves as a reminder to Paul of his reliance on God, and it underscores the importance of humility and trust in divine providence.

The term "firmament" is also discussed, which generally refers to the sky and heavens. Some interpret it as a pre-diluvian canopy covering the earth, a concept that has been debated among scholars. This discussion highlights the importance of understanding biblical terms within their historical and cultural context.

Personal testimonies from the group members add a practical dimension to the study. David shares his experience with a broken arm and a pulmonary embolism, Scott talks about his learning curve after prostate removal, and Glenn and Vicki discuss the challenges of old age. Carol's aunt Janet's situation with flood susceptibility is also a reminder of the need for divine protection in the face of natural disasters.

#### Themes and Discussion Questions

1. **Humility and Focus on Christ**: How does Paul's humility and focus on Christ in 2 Corinthians 12 challenge your own perspective on your relationship with God?
2. **The Third Heaven**: What does the concept of the third heaven teach us about the nature of God and the ultimate destination of every Christian?
3. **Thorn in the Flesh**: How can we understand and embrace our own "thorns in the flesh" as opportunities for growth and reliance on God's grace?
4. **Firmament**: What does the discussion of the firmament teach us about the importance of understanding biblical terms within their historical context?
5. **Personal Testimonies**: How do the personal testimonies of group members relate to the themes in 2 Corinthians 12? How can we apply these lessons to our own lives?

#### Closing Prayer

As we conclude our study, we pray for all the individuals and situations mentioned, asking for God's protection, healing, and guidance. We also pray for salvation and spiritual growth, and for the troops and against evil. May God's grace and peace be with us all.

#### Additional Notes

- **Acts 22:17-21**: Mark's reference to Paul's vision and commission to the Gentiles highlights the broader context of Paul's ministry and his divine calling.
- **Bible Misconceptions**: The discussion on misconceptions, such as the lamb and the wolf in Isaiah 11:6, the death angel in Passover, and the importance of verifying biblical claims, underscores the need for accurate interpretation and understanding of the Bible.

This Bible study offers a rich opportunity for reflection and growth, reminding us of the importance of humility, reliance on God's grace, and the significance of personal testimonies in our spiritual journey.

We thank you for your great sacrifice you made for us. We thank you for this new day, and we thank you for this nest, and we thank you for the fact that there's always hope. an empty chair at the table. As we get new chickens, the table gets larger. We know that you are with us while we are here on this earth, and we know that after our last day, we will be with you. And we ask that you, Father, open our hearts and minds to the verses we're about to study this morning, and show us opportunities to use this scripture in our daily lives. We pray this in the name of our Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. Well, thank you, Mike, for that beautiful opening prayer. Well, this morning we're starting Chapter 12 of 2 Corinthians. In a couple moments, I'm going to ask Steve to read for us. But setting the table here, you know, Paul is revisiting the church in Corinth, where there are some false teachers there. And he's finally kind of at his wit's end. well, pretty soon you've got to stand up for yourself. And so Paul does that, but he doesn't want to. He doesn't want to put the spotlight over on him. He wants to stay true to the ministry, and the focal point is Jesus Christ crucified. But sometimes... verse 10. So let's, there's a couple thoughts here that we can cultivate today. But verse 1 through verse 10, and let's listen intently. And while I'm doing that, Roger, could you be looking up Acts 14 and God is glorified. And we see that throughout scripture. It's not about us. Now there'll be some, you hear in ministry, that every other word is I, I, I. But Paul is not that person. And so he's provoked into this conversation of this, you know, it's a tendency sometimes of our WORLDLY NATURE TO ONE UP. YOU KNOW, ONE PERSON WILL TELL A STORY, "WELL, YOU THINK THAT WAS CRAZY? YOU KNOW, LET ME TELL YOU THIS." AND THEN SOMEBODY SAYS, "WELL, YOU DON'T THINK THOSE ARE-- YOU KNOW, THAT'S A CRAZY STORY. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS." AND IT'S ALL ABOUT I, I, I AND SELF-GRANDIZING. AND YET, PAUL-- So he's kind of provoked to, in one sense, most he's still refusing to by sharing this account in the third person there. I hope that helps, Steve. KB7, ZXN. Yeah, that's Kevin. Thank you. What this kind of looks like to me, I sure appreciate you explaining that, Kevin. You know, a lot of you guys have so much more able to articulate things than me. But I remember, we used to hunt. a bunch of my cousins, we'd always hunt. And you know, whether it was elk or deer or whatever. And I remember one time, I think there was three or four of us cousins, and I'm sure the dads were around too, we're up on this ridge and my cousin says, "Well, I see a buck over there." And nobody else could see it. And, "Oh yeah?" And another, I don't even remember if there was a deer. I don't even think there was a deer. He says, "I see a buck over there." So he's got us all looking. And another cousin says, "Well, I see two of them." And then another cousin says, "Well, do you see the flea on his left ear that I do?" and it's just one up in each other. It's kind of like fishermen. Well, I caught a 16-incher. Well, I caught two 18-inchers. Well, Paul's the type of guy that he doesn't really want to pull out his fish out of the stringer. He wants to see yours. and he's so excited for you. But in this case, he had to pull this fish out of the stringer. I hope that helps. All right, any other comments as we get to go in here? And Southern PA. Fine, B&K. Okay, I got Beck and I got David. Go ahead, Beck. Yeah, it's been a while, so I get to ask a question. What do we mean by the reference of third heaven? media okay uh uh we got kevin and we got david uh go ahead david yeah when he's speaking about third heaven here what he's thinking about that he uh he's talking about being in the presence of god that's uh uh heaven the third heaven you have three that are listed you have the uh the sky above that's called the first heaven above the arch You have, you know, where space and everything is. That's the second heaven. And then you have the third heaven, which is eternity there with God. Paul was gathered up into the third heaven. Now, he says here, he says, whether in the body or out of the body, I do not know. So this seemed very surreal to Paul. It was like he was actually there. He had seen this. But we know that it can't be in the body, because flesh and blood cannot inherit eternal life. So he cannot be in that presence in flesh and blood. So it's obviously a vision that Paul was given. This vision was so important to Paul that he held on to it very tightly. It kept it. It motivated him as he went, because he would write that prison epistle there, Philippians 1, verse 23, For I am in a strait betwixt between the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better. So Paul would use this as an example of how it is so much better to be there in that eternal presence with God. Paul was given that opportunity to see things that he cannot utter, things that he cannot speak about. And so that is such a blessing to know that, and it's an encouragement to all of us, when he boasts in this way, because if you boast, then you're boasting being the Lord, not of yourself. And that's why when he speaks in the following, he talks about his infirmity. And that's that, when he talks about that, that really sets the stage. PLT 07, Prophet Delta India, back to you, neck control. - All right, thank you, David. Kevin, would you like to lock arms alongside David and share what you have for Beck, over? KB7 ZX handle, absolutely. And, yeah, that's very good comments. You know, especially in the mindset of the cosmology of that time, the heavens were looked at exactly as David described, you know, and beyond the stars, of course, was. where God resided. But one of the points I want to make here, too, and I appreciate the comment to David, because they're spot on, and the term that he used to be caught up into the third heaven. It's the same term used in 1 Thessalonians 4.17 where we're in reference to the rapture and being caught up. And so, yes, this is quite an experience here. But yet, this is not where Paul goes. His boasting was in the cross, in the grace of God and the work done on the cross, and in the humility that salvation was not of him but was of God. And so in his weakness, God is glorified here. And we'll have to comment on the next section of text as well, but we'll suffice that for now. KB7, is that acceptable? I appreciate you and Kevin and David. Beck, did that answer your question? Over. Yes, sir. It did so very well. And don't you just love being here? I mean, let's stop for a second, guys and gals. Yes. And I looked around the table. This is why we're here every morning. This is growing and learning when we're able to have those that can share their experience and their understanding with the rest of us. And we grow and learn. So we just stop for a moment and give God all the glory and praise that we have an opportunity to gather around this table every morning and experience understanding such as we just did in the last couple moments. All right. As we move forward through the scriptures of Steve's reading, or if you have something that you'd like to bring up in what we're currently covering, please call at 7 MPH. Okay, I'll call you back. Yeah, go ahead, Will. Yeah, I tend to think of the third heaven and even hell as different dimensions that are beyond our three-dimensional world and universe that we live in. Yeah, sometimes it goes past our understanding, doesn't it, Will? Yeah, good comment. All right, anybody else in 7MP? Can I ask a question that strays a little bit from where we're at? Oh, certainly. Okay, I understand the three different sections of heaven. Where does the firmament lie in that? Uh, I'm sorry, I didn't... What lies where? Firmament. The firmament? Yes, sir. Uh, that's beyond me. Anybody want to take a stab on that? Does that make sense? Yeah, go ahead, Kevin. Well, the firmament is generally referred to as the kind of canopy, if you will, that was over the earth, pre-diluvian, before the flood. thought to have a kind of a covering, if you will, an atmospheric covering where it really didn't rain. There's a lot of ambiguity about it, but it basically was a canopy over the earth. that's kind of protected the earth. Of course, we know during that period of time, people and animals and things seem to live a lot longer. You didn't have many of the influences of degradation as we do in later time as we get farther from that time. But generally speaking, it's just meant to be a type of covering over the earth. AB7 is that acceptable? - Does that explain it, Beck? Yes, sir. I have a friend that believes that they never made it to the moon and that they can't go outside of Earth's gravity, I guess, because of the firmament that stops them from making it out there. Copy. And in my old age, I don't know, my brain just doesn't work like it used to. When Kevin started explaining it, Well, then, and maybe some of you guys are in the same boat, same share as I am. I'm thinking firmament, firmament, my brain, you know, I'm trying to pencil that down. I'm trying to put my thumb on that. And then Kevin starts explaining it. Oh, yeah, okay, I remember now what this is all about. So, Kevin, Kevin, I'm going to jump out and give you an audio hug for helping not only Beck but me. And I'm sure... many of the rest of us. So I really appreciate the comments this morning. All right. Do we want to... Do we have any more comments on that, or do we want to go in to look at verse 7... 7 to 10 and talk about the thorn of the flesh that Steve read. Come now, 7 MPA. Follow up, PDI. Okay, I got a PDI and I got a follow up. Kevin, let's go with your follow up and then we'll grab David. Go ahead, Kevin. And oftentimes, just generally speaking, "Fermanent" just refers to the heavens and the sky, too. It doesn't necessarily need to be a canopy as we look at it, but it just simply means the sky and the heavens above, KB7 is that example. All right. Copy that, Mick. Roger. Okay. Thanks, Kevin. David, KK7PDI at 7 MPI. Yeah, I was just going to go there where Kevin just did as well, and I appreciate that, Kevin, you... I'm clarifying that a little better. Verse 7, as we get into this with the sword and the flesh, you've got to remember what Paul says here. After being able to be out of the body, if you will, the spirit, being able to be caught up into the third heaven in the presence there of heaven, he says, "...unless I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelation." Paul had a revelation. He was able to see. He says, "A thorn of the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan debuffeth me, lest I be exalted above measure." Paul had every reason to talk about all of the things that he experienced, but he was limited in that. And then, he says, "Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times." Now, that's interesting. Three is a complete number. Paul, in this infirmity that he had in his body, It was so bad that three times he asked the Lord that it might depart from him. And I love the passage here because it said, the Lord said to him, My grace is sufficient for you. My strength is made perfect in weakness. This was able to keep Paul where he needed to be. And, you know, Paul, like any of us, we suffer from different things, from things in this world. We are, you know, do things that we should not. Paul understood all these things. But what he was able to see by God to give him the assurance of what is coming next and when he goes home, for the eternal presence with him was the motivation that kept him going. But this buffeting his body, he had to learn that through this weakness he had, and many believe, based on his writing, see with what letters I write, it probably had to do with his vision because he spoke of that in his letters. And so that's probably the infirmity he had, and he wanted it removed, but God allowed that to stay with Paul. Eagle QL7, Papa Delta India, back to you. All right, very, very good comments. Anybody want to build on what David was pointing out? Does that make sense? Yeah, go ahead, Kevin. Well, I think that's excellent comments there in perspective. You know, the thorn in the flesh that he refers to here clearly was a substantial hindrance to him in some ways, but yet through it, God was glorified. And there's been much discussion I've heard over the years on what that thorn of the flesh was. And we really don't know. Galatians 4:13-15 kind of inferred that maybe he had lost a good portion of his eyesight, that he was maybe legally blind, as the Galatians said they would tear out their own eyes and give him if they could. Others speculate it could have been, you know, based on Galactic Six that, you know, maybe it was epilepsy or migraines or maybe it contracted malaria down in the southern parts of the Mediterranean. We don't know. But the point is, is that... and this is so powerful for all of us. Sometimes when we pray and we think, well, God is not answering my prayer. Well, God answers all prayers, but just sometimes not the way we want answered. And he certainly answered Paul's prayer, but the answer was no, Paul. Sometimes I get the quick key in here, and the band is deteriorating. I do know that. So appreciate you jumping in there, Beck. When everybody listens, listen, because I may not hear. KB7 is that extent. I guess you brought it to me up. Yeah, you know, the point is the thorn is in the flesh. It is physical. It is persistent. And it is humbling to Paul. It is clearly a burden that he carried with him. And yeah, most attacks on the saints are, you know, from the church. Satan and his dominion there from the evil one. Sometimes it's circumstance, sometimes we bring troubles on ourselves, but clearly Paul understood the source of where this came from. But as you talked about the many afflictions that he endured, as he kind of highlighted some of them in his suffering, You know, what was the motivation? Who was behind those attacks? Well, it was the messengers of evil there. And they would do all they can to stomp out, to diminish, to disqualify the message of grace. But Paul, despite his circumstances physically, still is going to point to the grace of God even in those afflictions there. AB 7, but again. Yeah, well said there, Kevin. And let's look at that. Because in verse 9... You know, the messenger that Will pointed out is placing these afflictions, and it's really hard. It's like you get a pebble in the boot, and you're walking, and it's hard. But let's look at verse 9. And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for the power is perfected and weakless. Most gladly, therefore, I would rather boast about my weakness, so the power of Christ may dwell in me. That's a powerful statement. Any thoughts there? 7 MPA. BDI. Yeah, go ahead, David. Okay. Yeah, it reminds me of a situation I had in 2010 when I fell from a ladder and fell down to the ground. And I broke my forearm and shattered my wrist in seven places. And I had to have a brace and a titanium plate with my arm for a year. I couldn't even tie my shoes. But through all of that, I almost died. I had a pulmonary embolism as well. And they did give me the pheasant foot death, but I wouldn't live, but I did. And the fact of the matter is, through that situation, it drew me so much closer to Christ. It made me realize through that fall that I had, that I had all my abilities, The infirmities now I had in my body that I could never be the same drew me closer to Christ and His Word. And so I agree with what Kevin was saying. This was definitely the thorn in the flesh because he says that. A thorn in the flesh was given to me. He's talking about the physical flesh. It bothered Paul so much. that it was constantly on his mind and that he had to deal with that. But what it did do is he became stronger in Christ as a result of that, and he focused more upon the Lord and his word as a result of that. I think back of Satan and dealing with Job. He asked permission because there was this hedge around him of God. And he then struck Job with boils and what have you. And so those things happened. And Paul, again, in the previous chapter, talked about all that he went through for the cause of Christ, from being scourged, 40 strikes, minus 139, to going through all of that. And now he has this. thorn in the flesh and again I agree with Kevin we don't know for certain what that thorn was but there is indication and many theologians have said based upon what Paul said it was probably his vision but we don't know that for a fact so thank you for that Kevin. 80207, Papa Delta India, back to you. Oh yeah, really good stuff, really good stuff. It's got my mind spinning. And I looked around the virtual roundtable this morning and I can't help but think that every single one of us are thinking about the thorns in our flesh, you know. You know, I'm having to learn all over again after having my prostate removed. What a learning curve. What a pain in the rear, for the lack of a better term. And then there's other complications. It seems like I just walk through the kitchens. I just walk through the kitchen, I gain a pound. I'm getting so heavy, and I'm absolutely eating hardly anything. And just to bend over and put your boots on in the morning is a labor. And to me, that's my thorn in my flesh. Others have different thorns. You know, we listen to Glenn every morning, and we just, our heart breaks with the pain that he and Vicki are going through. These are old age pains, and I can relate to that too. I'm crippled with a lot of arthritis. And it could be anything. You know, I was looking back through the prayer requests, and back in January, I think it was, I don't want to look at it real quick. It was January 1st. Oh, no, it was December 12th. December 12th. Carol asked for prayer for her Aunt Janet who was flooded out. Well, just a couple days ago, she's asking for prayer for flood victims. Well, what that tells me is where they live is susceptible to floods. And so they constantly got to be thinking about that. All this kind of pulls away from our spiritual walk sometimes, or it can double down and pull us towards, you know, this is kind of life. This is kind of life. And having said that, I did want to recognize Carol. She's on the FDR this morning. And recognize Keith, K7NEB, from... the panhandle up there in Idaho, and Don's with us, KI7PPC, and glad to have all three of you with us. All righty, as we wind down, any final thoughts that we can tie a ribbon around our study this morning, we have to please call then, 7NPA. Okay, hearing nothing. Al, could you lead us in prayer this morning? Most of you are in depth. Lead out in prayer this morning. The only thing I have, Al, is I heard... through my partner Joe that he had contacted Keith and that they were gonna try to move Ronnie out of ICU yesterday and into a high care room. So it's just kind of a step out of ICU. But it looks like at this point in time that maybe Ronnie will be going into a home. So we want to be continued to lift up Ronnie there. Al, over. There's somebody else there too, Scott. Hey Scott, Mark. I don't want to forget that we did talk to Mark BBC earlier today. I thought we could get into that. But he knows that you checked in. I think I might have even heard him in there. Mark, are you there? I heard him too. Ah, okay, well I'm not hearing him. Uh, uh, uh, go ahead, uh, and I heard you, Steve, that somebody else was in there, so thank-- I really appreciate you guys jumping in there. Uh, uh, uh, back, try to make a contact, over. 327PVT, Alpha Alpha 580, Mark, come-- uh, come back. I know I'm not losing my mind because others heard him too, but I'm not hearing him now. OK. Well, sometimes the band conditions will do that to us. Hopefully, Mark-- I'll make room and maybe we can make a comment tomorrow if the band is favorable for us. So I'm going to turn it over to Al. And Al, you posed a sign of prayer. You heard my thoughts on Ronnie. And I think you have the rest. So go ahead, Al. Thank you. KM5S, comment? Go ahead, Will. Yeah, I think I heard Mark under you guys there a little bit ago. He was trying to get any -- if you could hear him. KM5S, go ahead. Okay, appreciate that. Mark, KJ7PVT and 7MPA. Did you get that, Scott? I did not. He said that he's having a hard time hearing us and that he'll try again tomorrow. He'll take a pass on it today. All right, appreciate that, Steve. I could tell that he was in there, but I could not -- he was underneath the water mark. All right, Mark, we'll have you front, front, front, front, front, front, front, front, line, and center tomorrow. And we can come, we can flop back a little bit tomorrow and carry forward. Kind of a double reverse. All right Al, close us out of prayer there Al and 7:00 PM. All right, that's pretty much what I got too. So, all right, let's close the prayer. We'll come together and... and pray before the Lord and the throne of grace, our prayers and petitions and praises. Heavenly Father, we thank you for this time together with you and your word and this blessed day where we can all focus on what... Each of us have a thorn that could be a reminder to be humble before you and none of us can match you and to remain in your word and to follow what you have in the path you set before us. I want to lift up Zoe, who sent this information here regarding the emergency seat-back surgery that called with Cody and Phoebe's mom gave birth to a 6-pound, 13-pound baby, Joe D. Zoe, to get raised there. And I understand both are okay and healthy and doing well at this point. So thank you for answering the prayers there. For Gwen and Vicki, we lift them up for their feelings, their experiences continuously, and also their friends who are going through a marriage issue. We want to lift them up about all marriages. That they can be focused on you and remember that. A marriage is a three-corded, a three-corded, this is part of Brady's month in New York. And Barley was traveling to camp today in Southern Oregon to prepare it for the coming season. And that's a mission that speaks to me because that's what I used to do for the North Fort Camp from the Sheriff's Office here in Lane County. And going into these camps after a winter of destruction and going in there and making them turn into parks so that the kids and whoever goes to that camp is going to be the Given an environment that they could bring them closer to you. And also for Beck, today he's going to be traveling to Eugene and back. We ask for safe travels for him as well. And for Roger, WB7BZL, who's going to be doing a graveside service today. We ask that you give him the words and the wisdom to be an inspiration and to offer comfort and your grace and mercy to them as well. We lift up Ronnie, Chief Featherhass, who's been released from ICU and moved to a different level of residency and considering another resident. for her continued care and her condition. And for, most of all, the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, through whom we pray all these things. Amen. This is KJ Devin, QQH, returning back to you at night control. Brother Scott. All right. Appreciate your closing prayer there, Al. I've got a text message from Mark, and he's... He's pointing us to Acts 22, verse 17 through 21. And I'll just read that real quick. It happened when I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple that I fell into a trance. And I saw him saying to me, And I said, Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to be in prison and beat those who believed in you. And when the blood of your witness Stephen was being shed, I also was standing by approving and watching out for the coats of those who were slaying him. And he said to me, Go! for I will send you far away to the Gentiles. And Mark's pointing out that very point consciously that was eating at Paul. So I appreciate that, Mark. And I don't fly this plane near as good as Pastor Max, but I did get your text message. Jerry, are you still on frequency? Yes. 8-E-7-E-R and 7-M-P-A. I'll catch up with Jerry later. All right, well, that's the conclusion of today's West Coast Bible study. And I wonder how... Welcome, David, KB7DA from Fairpoint Field, Montana. Thanks for stopping in, David, and grabbing a chair. Remember, today was your first time, but at one time, every one of us around this table was our very first time. And when you are here, you are with family. So I appreciate you being here, David. Tomorrow will be... looking at 2 Corinthians chapter 12, and we'll pick up at verse 11. Chapter 12, verse 11. And with that, everybody have a blessed day, and we'll look forward to returning tomorrow. Same bat time, same bat channel. The Lord willing, and the crypt doesn't rise. So 7-3 is going to turn it over to Beck, and Beck, you can... You can carry on. I'm going to slide down the fire pole and go remove a boulder so some tree planters can get to a harvest. And 7 MPA, 7-3, go ahead, Beck. Roger, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee. What do you call a turkey that runs away? Anyone? No answer. Chicken. Chicken? Yeah, chicken. Oh, that's good. That's funny. Okay, Beck, I got one for you today. I'm gonna ask Kevin not to make his comment, 'cause he probably knows the answer. But I thought I'd check you on this one just to see if you know what this one is. Are you ready for it? Yeah, I did want to mention that I did a little research yesterday, and I found the answer when you said different names for Satan. It was in Corinthians 6.15, like Belial, B-E-L-I-A-L. Yeah, I think Beelzebub as well, another reference, but you'll never see it used as Lucifer. Lucifer dealt with King Nebuchadnezzar, and that's where I showed you in Isaiah 13th chapter and 14th chapter. But you'll never see Lucifer referred to as Satan. Yeah, Roger, I looked it up, and I looked all over the place, and what I do remember is they keep saying something of light. Yeah, he's also referred as the Prince of Darkness, and there's a lot of references to him, and not Lucifer, but that's one that people commonly use that is not spiritual. But it's done because that's what they heard from someone else, and they didn't check it for themselves. So this new one will be one that will also, I think, trigger your mind some here. So let me give it to you. In the Bible, it mentions many animals. And in the Bible, it talks about the lamb will lay down with which animal? I don't know. I haven't heard that. A lion. Okay. I'm glad that you answered that, Al. And that answer is incorrect. The lamb will not lay down with the lion. But yes, that is the one that 90% of the time people will use that and they will say the lamb will lay down with the lion. But you'll never find that in the Bible anywhere. In fact, the verse is found in Isaiah 11 and verse 6. It says, the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb. So there you go. It's the wolf, not the lion. Keto Keto 7, Papadopindia. That makes more sense because usually it's the wolf that's always trying to get the sheep. In the cartoons. Yeah, and it always talks about when you're dealing with Satan, that he comes like a sheep in hand, but he's actually a wolf disguised as a sheep. That's right, Sandy's saying a wolf and sheep's clothing. Absolutely. Somebody else made a comment. I always fall back on a thief in the night. Yeah, copy that. Go ahead, Kevin. Yeah, you know, the Bible is full of those things. I shared this with Becky a couple of years ago with a group. But we were looking at the Passover. But nowhere in the Bible, you know, through my life I always heard, Preach the death angel came over Passover. Well, you're not going to find the death angel anywhere in the Bible either. TV7, is that external? Yeah, copy. There is a... There is a mention of......a devil being like a riot and throwing rabbits and throwing someone to devour. Yeah, we'll do another one tomorrow there. Uh, Beck, I got one more I'll share tomorrow and see if the... I know you probably know the answer to this one, but we'll do it tomorrow just to keep it going while it matches the length. Well, thank you, Steve. I appreciate that. I'm writing them all down and I'm researching all of it. Well, it's a good thing to do because you have a lot of people out there, and like I said, 90% of the people that you will talk to, and there's a phrase that is actually given in the Bible that talks about the lamb laying down with which animal. And 90% of the time they will say the lion, because that's often taught in different denominations today that the lion representing the king of beasts and then the lamb, you know, our Lord and Savior, but they would lay down together, but that is never taught. It's about the wolf. The wolf will dwell with the lamb. But yet, that's just, if we can err, this is the point, if we can err in these simple things, how much more can we err in the more important things that deal with salvation? So we must follow what the word says, not what man says. And that's where these things come from. Keep it, keep it, keep it. Propaganda India. Roger, 100% agreed. That's one of the reasons why I carry everything that I read in the Bible with a bit of salt. And it's because we're reading the translation. We're not reading the actual script. And man was involved with the changes there. And even though the apostles were supposed to be inspired through the Holy Spirit, the gentlemen that wrote King James Version were of a different time, different period, different lifestyle. And I'm just very hesitant when I read things, just fully taking it in as this is the gospel truth. Because even from one revision of the Bible to another, there's differences, and I don't like it. Copy that. Copy that. So anyway, thank you for sharing that. I appreciate that. And I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Okay. Is that acceptable? I look forward to that. Bring you back again tomorrow. And just appreciate everything today. Kevin, appreciate your comments as well. It was really good Bible study today. Kewel, Kewel, Kevin, Papa, Del, Sandy, I'm going to be QRP. Have a blessed day, everyone. Go ahead, Kevin. He pointed to the Bereans because everything he preached, they went to their scriptures of the Old Testament. A lot of times he taught Jesus from the scriptures they had in hand, the Old Testament. And they looked it up. They tested him against the word of what they knew to be the word of God. And that's what really God would have us all do, as we talked about before. So, yeah, we have a lot of things in tradition sometimes that we carry along with us that aren't accurate in claims. Another one I always liked is, you hear often, "God helps those who help themselves." Well, that sounds quite biblical, but the truth is, God helps those who can't help themselves. That's why we need His grace. And so anyway, another adage there. TB7 said, "Except for..." Yeah, Roger, that's one of my favorite ones, because my dad used to say that, and we had a fairly heavy discussion. on that topic, and I believe you were the ones that mentioned that God helps those who help themselves. It's not in the Bible. And I've actually heard other people on TV say that, like as if it is in the Bible. So I appreciate every little thing that everybody contributes out here so much. Well, I learn and grow from others every day. And just, you know, the life experiences and how God works in each of our lives. What a powerful testimony that is too. And so all of us are on that journey, both personally with our relationship with our Lord, but also in fellowship with one another, and it's wonderful to share those experiences and those things that we learn and grow from along the way. So anyway, blessings back, and Al and Dave, you're still there, and any others out here needing QRT as well. TB7 is unacceptable. Take care Kevin, looking forward to hearing you tomorrow. Alpha Alpha 580, QRP. Thanks brother Kevin, F322, hope your next day travels on your way to Eugene and Packett. If you have any good ideas, give us a wave. Don't worry. Take care. GDU, 2QH, you are clear Thank you.
