### Bible Study Summary: Spiritual Warfare and the Armor of God

**Introduction:**
In a recent Bible study session, participants delved into the theme of spiritual warfare and the importance of equipping oneself with the armor of God. The study was led by WB7MAX, who serves as the Net Control for the West Coast Bible Study, which convenes daily at 6 a.m. The group discussed key passages from Ephesians, 2 Corinthians, James, Philippians, and 1 Peter, focusing on how to engage in spiritual warfare and the importance of prayer and submission to God.

**Key Passages and Themes:**

- **Ephesians 6:10-18 (Armor of God):**
This passage describes the importance of putting on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil. The armor includes truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The group discussed the practical application of each piece of armor in daily life, emphasizing the need for truth in thoughts and actions, righteousness in behavior, and faith in overcoming challenges.

- **2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (Spiritual Warfare):**
The group explored the concept of spiritual warfare, noting that it involves using non-carnal weapons. The passage emphasizes the importance of bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ. This was seen as a call to vigilance in thoughts and actions, ensuring they align with God's will.

- **James 4:7 (Submit to God, Resist the Devil):**
The group discussed the importance of submitting to God and resisting the devil. This was seen as a foundational principle in spiritual warfare, emphasizing the need for humility and a willingness to let God lead. The group also noted the importance of bringing every thought into captivity to Christ, a theme that was echoed in 2 Corinthians 10:5.

- **Philippians 4:6-7 (Pray about Everything, Peace of God):**
This passage was discussed in the context of prayer and its role in spiritual warfare. The group emphasized the importance of praying about everything and trusting in the peace of God, which guards the heart and mind. This was seen as a practical way to maintain spiritual strength and resist the schemes of the devil.

- **1 Peter 5:6 (Humble Yourself Under God's Mighty Hand):**
The group discussed the importance of humility in spiritual warfare. Humbling oneself before the Lord and being exalted by Him was seen as a key aspect of resisting the devil and standing firm in faith. The group also noted the importance of bringing every thought into captivity to Christ, a theme that was echoed in James 4:10 and 1 Peter 5:6.

**Personal Stories and Anecdotes:**
- **Brian KJ7PWM:** Brian shared his current struggle with not feeling well, which provided a poignant reminder of the importance of prayer and the need for divine strength in times of physical and emotional weakness.
- **Jim N7BKE:** Jim shared a personal testimony about his loss of babies, which was a powerful reminder of the need for faith and trust in God's plan, even in the face of personal tragedy.

**Discussion Questions:**

1. **How can we practically apply the concept of the armor of God in our daily lives?**
   - How do we ensure that our thoughts and actions are aligned with truth and righteousness?
   - How can we use the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, to defend ourselves against the schemes of the devil?

2. **What does it mean to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ?**
   - How can we recognize and challenge thoughts that do not align with God's will?
   - What practical steps can we take to ensure that our thoughts and actions are in line with Christ's teachings?

3. **How can we practice humility in our daily lives?**
   - What does it mean to humble ourselves under God's mighty hand?
   - How can we ensure that we are not exalting ourselves and instead submitting to God's will?

4. **How does prayer play a role in spiritual warfare?**
   - How can we ensure that we are praying about everything and trusting in the peace of God?
   - What are some practical ways to incorporate prayer into our daily routines to maintain spiritual strength?

5. **How can we support each other in times of struggle and need?**
   - How can we use the stories and testimonies of others to strengthen our faith?
   - What are some ways we can pray for and support each other, especially during challenging times?

**Conclusion:**
The Bible study session provided a rich discussion on the importance of spiritual warfare and the armor of God. Participants were encouraged to apply these principles in their daily lives, recognizing the need for prayer, submission to God, and the use of divine weapons to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. The group concluded with a reminder of the importance of returning to regular amateur use of the frequency after the study, emphasizing the purpose of reading scriptures, understanding their meaning, and praying for grace and mercy to live out what is learned.

Running a little rough, missing one or two cylinders this morning. May go back to bed before we're done. So anyway, understood, Brian. KJ7PWM, appreciate that. So that's Brian, KJ7PWM, not feeling well. Jerry, let's remember Brian. Dear God and Heavenly Father, we thank you for your wisdom, your wisdom to us, your kindness, your kindness to us. Thank you for your wisdom to us. Help my journey next weekend. Help my journey to Southern Illinois. Thank you again. Thank you. We can hear one another as well as we can. And thank you. Help us provide the word of truth. Therefore, these attacks on me are false, and therefore are of no merit in discrediting the message that I am conveying in my gospel preaching and teaching. So that's what's going on here. And so what we see in chapter 10 is Paul describing the attack on his ministerial credentials. But the section we're dealing with here in verses 1 through 6, He talks about how he does spiritual warfare. He doesn't use carnal methods. And he especially talks about how we have to control our thoughts and our attitudes because they inform our actions. So anyway, we... There's those pearls that you can mine, and this is one that we should really pay attention to. Verse 4, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God. For the pulling down of strongholds, and here's the diamond. Casting down arguments in every high thing that exalts us. against the knowledge of Christ and here it is bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. So the key there is that when we are tempted, when we have these problems and trials in our life that Satan is always there trying to pull us aside or to have us to think about other things, you can take those thoughts that are in your mind and put them captive under Jesus Christ. your points there, is that the realization, at least in my heart, in my experience, is that even though I can know beyond a shadow of doubt what God's will is in a certain situation, Yeah, Steve, really well said. Thank you for that. Yeah, the passage is in James chapter 4 and verse 7. James 4, 7 says, Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you, draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. It says, "Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." So, Steve, you know, the devil's a liar, okay? And so we cast down the imaginations, the vain thoughts, the foolish conclusions, and Roger, WB7VZL, go ahead. Yes, I'm thinking of Christ when He talks about, "I am divine, you are the branches, the priority, and then of course the privilege of being humble enough." Let your requests be made known to God. And David, KK7 PDI, started out with that exhortation right there. Pray about it. And then, and the peace of God, verse 7, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. So he's talking about our mental state here. And then the verse I really like there is verse 8. And the way to push out the bad thoughts is not just to say, I won't think bad thoughts, but to replace them with good thoughts. And so I'll start reciting the Lord's Prayer, or I'll start reciting Psalm 23, or I'll start singing a hymn. I remember Martin Luther said, let us sing a hymn and drive the devil away. And so you push out all those rotten thoughts. of ultimate here, even though he's talking to the immediate situation at the same time. Over. Yeah, and Roger, how important it is to tie every current situation we have to those ultimate, permanent, eternal principles that are not only true now, but they're going to be true in our experience when we're in the new heavens and the new earth. And so what we need to do is take the principles of the kingdom and the fact that when we lower ourselves before the Lord, and He alone is exalted, then the strongholds of Satan that Steve was talking about are broken. So by lowering ourselves before the Lord, by rejecting lies and embracing the truth of the Word of God, the Jesus of the cult. And it's really an illuminating chapter. What you see is universally across all of the cults, without exception, they have a wrong view of Jesus as to his identity, that is, as to who he is, or as to his work, that is, what he has done. God can't use you if you're a prideful person. And so that's why we have passages such as James 4:10, "Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." And I like the way that Peter comes back and says that as well in 1 Peter, what's this, the 5th chapter, and verse 6, he says, "Humble yourself therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time." Then God gives me strength. David, thank you for bringing that out. It's Steve, W6YSI as well. All right, Will, kill Mike 5 Foxtrot. I have a follow-up. Come back to me, Will. Yeah, I can hear you. Will, kill Mike 5 Foxtrot. Go ahead. You know, I just wanted to point out verse 3 in this passage. Verse 3 says, And the idea there is, yes, we live in the physical realm, and people tend to use physical arguments, they use physical activities, We, on the other hand, though we are physical beings, we do not depend on physical weapons. We use things like prayer. We use the Word of God. We use doing good works so that people may glorify our Father which is in heaven. You know, the whole armor of God there that is used, the belt of righteousness, you know, the shield of faith. Anyway, David, really appreciate you throwing out your call sign here, and hopefully we'll chat with you again. I'm glad it met your needs. Alright, WB7MAX here, Net Control for the West Coast Bible Study. Any final prayer requests before we go to prayer, please come down. Alright, Terry, AE70R, please go ahead and close in prayer for us. There was a devil in there. Go ahead with the prayer request. Okay. He's talking about Jay. He could use our prayers today. His chemo was on Friday. He felt good last night. But he sent this to me just now. He says, "I'm not at work. I have a headache. My stomach hurts." They called it a crash the day after your protective meds wear off. No more Superman. So anyway, let's pray for Jay and for his health today as he struggles with the reaction to the chemo that he got previously. Thank you for that, Brian. Okay, any other prayer requests, please come down. Worship, I'm sorry, worship. Pray that the need for Bibles and chapel installation on chips would be met. W-A-0, J-A-E, wife Dorena is declining toward chips. Lord, be with Dorcea. Give her peace as she prepares. regarding this tragedy. Pete M6NOX, his 90 year old aunt Miriam is improving a little. We pray for healing for her. Colonel KK7TPO, total testing and management for 70 year old Alisa will be if there's a need for forgiveness. Keep us all well and faithful. And we ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen. Thank you, 7-Eleven. Jerry, thank you for closing in prayer for us. Really appreciate that. This is Max, WB7MAX, net control for the West Coast Bible Study. I want to thank all the stations who checked in this morning, especially David, KI7PWZ. and also for those who stood by to give us a clear operating frequency. We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m. in order to read the scriptures, understand their meaning message and application, and then to pray for grace and mercy to be able to live out what we learned and for God to meet the needs in our circle of fellowship. I'll be returning this frequency now to regular amateur youth. This is WB7MAX. I will be clear and standing by. You can call me in on the text there too. But Maggie mentioned the other day that Sandy early on had bought you an ES-335. And how much you enjoyed that. My wife had bought me a Fender Stratocaster, I remember, for my birthday years ago. And I played it for a long time. But recently, I bought a copy. One of these days I'll have to save my pennies and nickels and get a really S335. Because this is a great, you know, modeling of one. But, yeah, I just love it. So I'm sure you enjoyed yours through the years. It can't be seven to that extent. Well, we all build from others, and that's the truth. But anyway, just appreciate you sharing that story, 'cause it reminded me so much of the love my wife had in giving me my Stratocaster, and I enjoyed that for years. Well, I could play it, give me sevens at a time. Roger, well, thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it, Kevin. But thank you for talking about the guitar. Not too many people do. All right, real good, David. Yeah, we got two guitarists here, at least on the net. We've got Beck Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee. And then we've got Kevin Kilo Bravo 7 Zulu X-Ray November. That's KB7ZXN. So you guys go ahead and carry on about your guitars. And David, KI7PWZ, thank you for being there. Over to you there, Beck. Well, very good. Well, I can't stay long, but David, it's so good to hear you out there. Glad you found us, and welcome to the group there. Yeah, there's several other guitar players, part of the group, too, and just a good bunch of fellas all the way around here. Alright, real good. Well, hopefully you had some good fellowship over there. And Jim, it's sure good to hear your voice. Sounds like you're doing well. And I'm glad that you were able to listen on the SDR. So, anyway, Jim, any prayer requests or anything going on in your life that we need to know about? Back to you. No, I'm doing great. No problem. Both of them were about 14 to 15 weeks is all, so they were just in the beginning of stage of life. Yeah, I copy that. Well, I don't care what stage you lose the baby at, it's always difficult. Okay, I hope all is going well with you. And I heard Kevin in there, so good morning, Kevin. God bless you all. The Lord is willing and able. All you do is ask. N7BKE. All right, real good, Jim. Yeah, we walk by faith and not by sight, and we can walk in peace knowing that God is in control. So, Jim, thank you for that. I appreciate you sharing your testimony, and I appreciate you coming on the radio and sharing
